What happens after you've lost everything—status, stability, and even your sense of self?In Part Two, Sihame El Kaouakibi goes deeper into her journey of rebuilding: not just her career, but her core identity. From leaving toxic environments to redefining ambition, Sihame breaks down how Women Leaders OS came from her own healing, and how she now helps high-achieving women across cultures do the same. She also opens up about why global coaching requires cultural fluency, why some success stories are just polished pain, and what it really means to be “enough” in a world obsessed with more. How do you debate a Liar in Chief? Will there be a hue change in Texas? Idaho has a peck of troubles. Guess who brought them on? State Supreme Courts: Are they going against the voting public? Democratic cities are pulling their weight. Red State Socialism: How's that working out for the Takers? Military families: Guess who they're supporting this election cycle? The Commander in Chief? QAnon, Gelinas, Watkins, Borbert. What do they have in common? Congressman Doug Lamborn is trying to pull the wool over our eyes. But, we caught him cold trying to fool us. Will there be life for the Space Force after the election? Does anybody know whether it will be a defensive or exploratory organization? Remdesivir: The domestic health people say one thing and the World Health Organization says another. Confused? You should be.

This week on the New to Knitting Podcast we talk about Stash Busting. Confused? You’re not the only one. Host, Kayleigh tries to explain different ways to use up that stash of yarn to her husband, Brian, who knows nothing about yarn or knitting at all. Chaos ensues. No not really but Kayleigh talks about yarn and Brian interjects with nonsense to make her lose her train of thought. It’s all good, because you will laugh along the way with them. This week's News Desk features an instagram account that has caught Kayleigh’s eye, fellow Missourian Carina Spencer https://www.instagram.com/carinaspencer/ We can’t leave the podcast without having a secret knit! This week Brian pretty much nails it! Host Adam Burke may have had an epiphany this morning. After looking at some run-scoring data and how teams win, he may be looking to change his handicapping mindset to some degree. Confused? You won’t be after you listen through his thoughts on today’s edition of The Bettor’s Box. Spoiler alert: We should handicap for offense more than we handicap for the opposite. After talking about why Team Total betting may be the best approach moving forward, Adam recapped some line moves during the Down the Lines segment and talked about some of the most interesting ones of the week. To round out the show, he focused on four series for this weekend, with thoughts on Athletics vs. Astros, Giants vs. Diamondbacks, Padres vs. Rockies, and Indians vs. Cardinals.

I'm back with the book review that never ends! This week, I cover chapter 7, which is all about honey bee reproduction, including such interesting subjects as the average amount of drones vs queens produced in a year; the optimal amount of worker bees that leave with the first swarm; what effects the production of 'afterswarms'; and how the honey bee is much like an apple tree! Confused? You soon will be! Or not, if I've done this right. I also spend a little time discussed robbing behaviour in bees, and what you can do about it. Please check out my website for a rundown of everything discussed as well as handy-dandy diagrams from the book, and pretty photos from my homestead. Take care of yourselves, and stay safe out there!
Regular team-mates Mark Chapman and Chris Sutton take on Robbie Savage, who this week is joined by BBC sport commentator Conor McNamara. Robbie goes into it with a 3-1 lead, after his unbeaten streak came to an end last week. Was last week a one-off, or are Mark and Chris staging a comeback? And is there a better clue than ‘ginger and crashed his car’? Confused? You’re not the only one.

You should! But keep on watching to learn more about the complex life of a man who rose from the very bottom of the social scale, ended up ruling the 4th largest economy in Latin America, made an alliance with the Mafia, escaped an assassination attempt thanks to Santería magical practices and eventually fled at dawn with three cargo planes filled with loot.
Moose and Dews have a couple of guests this week, but first Dews reveals that he has a snail trail problem, which means he may need to get the builders in. Sounds drastic, but he's got a point. He and Moose then discuss the importance of research, and staying true to your ideals, before discussing the importance of ignoring research and modifying your ideals. Confused? You will be. Ideas man Richard Hanson chats with Moose about the lifeblood of Primordial Radio, and Dews chats to Full Metal Hackett who continues his epic, globe-spanning pub crawl, which is now in Peru. Today's episode features an in-depth analysis of Hodes & Nauser v. Schmidt, a recent decision out of the Kansas Supreme Court holding that -- whatever the U.S. Supreme Court does -- the Kansas state constitution protects a woman's right to choose. Join us to understand how this decision is important not only for Kansans but for all of us as we deal with the challenges created by the increasingly Trump-ified federal bench. We begin, however, with a brief update as to the status of the Jeffrey Epstein plea deal that's been questioned by a recent ruling in Florida. We first covered this story in Episode 259. After that, it's time for fan-favorite "Are You A Cop?" combined with a listener question about whether (and how much) "corporations are people, my friend." Then, it's time for the main breakdown of Hodes & Nauser v. Schmidt, with brief stopovers in Alabama (to discuss Bill 314), a prediction on the future of Roe v. Wade before this Supreme Court, and a full breakdown of the Kansas opinion and why it matters. After all that, it's time for yet another listener question, this time about the dissent in Hodes, what it means, and why the court spent so much time talking about the police power of the state, John Locke, and natural law. Confused? You won't be, after listening to this segment. And as if that wasn't enough, after all that, it's time for the answer to TTTBE #124 about Decomposing Snail Soda(TM) ("It's Maddeningly Addictive"). Find out if Thomas got this question right! It's January, and it's a brand-new season of '80s All Over, so you know what that means? TOILET MONSTERS FOR EVERYONE! Okay, it also means it's time for the Coen Brothers to make their first appearance of the decade, but more importantly, TOILET MONSTERS FOR EVERYONE! Except people who actually watch the movie with the toilet monster on the cover, since there are no toilet monsters in it. Confused? You won't be after you dig into the beginning of the year with us on January of 1985.

This week on Scots Got Thoughts. I wax on about the marvellous "Can You Ever Forgive Me?", the truly outstanding "Green Book" another small rant about inconsiderate cinema goers and the mind bending wonder that is "Russian Doll" on Netflix. Not to mention join me in salivating over one of Glasgow's best brunch spots. Confused? You will be...all this and much more this week on Scots Got Thoughts.
Is Star Wars undermining the Internet? Has hate speech undermined the mainstream? Could a licence to surf could bring us back from the Dark Side? It’s time to Mattsplain.Excerpt:Masculine inferiority. It’s something that Kulturpop’s Matt Armitage has been accused of all his life. But until last week, he thought it was just him. Now, the massed ranks of Star Wars Ultras have broken cover to try and force their views, Empire-like, across the Internet. Confused? You will be. It’s time to Mattsplain. The fanboys should be happy today: we’re talking about Star Wars.•Less happy than you might imagine.•The fan boys very much in our crosshairs this week, as well as is everyone else who thinks the Internet is the sole preserve of their point of view.•Everyone knows that the Internet is reserved for my point of view.•And when that POV is interrupted, I have to conjure up these 20 minutes sermons to bring everyone to heel. You’re really full of yourself, aren’t you?•I’m happy to see that your holiday has improved your mood.•And people call me uncle angry.•I am full of myself. But that’s not what I’m trying to do here.•I’m just trying to prove a point. Everyone thinks the Internet is for them and that anyone who dares to disagree with their opinion is attacking them.•Or rather, threatening that little piece of the Internet they call their own.And what does Star Wars have to do with any of this?•I’m not sure if you caught this because you been away.•And I’m not sure how long this post has been going around.•It’s a manifesto purporting to be from The fans of Star Wars, asking Disney to stop its campaign of perverting the franchise to further a socio-political agenda of inclusion that promotes masculine inferiority.Yeah I saw it…•I’m not quite sure how having strong female characters equates to masculine inferiority.•Also not quite sure how promoting different sexes genders and races upsets anyone in a fictional universe populated by creatures like Jabba the Hut, a cross between a slug and a lump of faecal matter that somehow manages to be more disgusting and offensive than either.•I consider myself to be a Star Wars fan, and I happen to like where the franchise is headed.•Anyone who is flabbergasted by Luke Skywalker’s transition to cantankerous old goat, obviously hasn’t met a lot of old people and thinks that they really are like the old duffers in the Werthers Originals commercials. You’re definitely going to be like Luke. You don’t even have to get much older.•Oi. Respect please.•People might be wondering what relevance this has as a topic for our show.I think our listeners gave up trying to connect your dots a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…•Bonus Star Wars points.•We’ve heard a lot of talk of the last few months about how the Internet is being weaponised by countries and companies with an agenda. •But we can’t blame what’s happening online entirely on external actors and agents.•You have people like the guys who put together the Star Wars memorandum, and I’m guessing are mainly white males.•And quick note to those guys: Star Wars is a global franchise, when you look at the population of our planet and I’m guessing the population of the wider universe. The majority of those people aren’t white or male or probably even human.
“The fraud of men was ever so / Since summer first was leafy” — Balthasar’s song, Much Ado About Nothing In episode six, we look at that vexing question of whether or not Will Shakespeare was a complete and utter conman. We’ll follow those who dug up rivers, cracked codes, turned to grave-robbing, or occasionally just wrote really, really long books to find the answer. We’ll hear from Mark Twain, Sigmund Freud, William Wordsworth, and learn some surprising theories as to why Queen Elizabeth I was the Virgin Queen (or was she…?). It’s a journey from the 1560s to our era and back again, and somehow I manage to bring up Golden Girls, England’s greatest treasure hunt, George W. Bush and Dame Agatha Christie! Confused? You still will be after listening, but I hope you’ll enjoy this incredibly long investigation of the madness that is the authorship question. You can find me on Facebook, Twitter, or by email at podcastshakespeare@gmail.com. You can listen to the podcast at iTunes or download direct from Libsyn. Confused? You may have noticed this is not the next production or release episode. We finally hit that point where the idea behind this podcast takes shape, though in an odd way. This episode, despite being released as 01x12, is next in chronological order. Following Fortunate Son (01x10) and preceding Cold Front (01x11). An oversight by the writers? Who knows, it's canon now. After getting pushed into the mud a few too many times by an unidentified ship, Archer realizes incredibly ineffective weapon systems just aren't going to cut it and orders the Enterprise to return to Jupiter Station for some much needed upgrades. The podcast shenanigans for episode six see the team return to Dresden at the height of the Second World War, then back to the present, then back to the war, and finally to the fourth dimensional planet of Tralfamador. Confused? You ought to be. This episode explores Kurt Vonnegut’s highly significant and epic anti-war novel Slaughterhouse Five, along with its subsequent 1972 film adaptation. So it goes. Paul tests Iain and Dee’s literary knowledge with a quiz on famous cinematic adaptations of the written word, and there’s plenty of war-related booze to be had courtesy of Asahi, Spitfire, Erdinger, Staropramen, Blue Moon and Weihenstephaner. Which is kind of grim when you think about it. Holocaust aside, click on the podcast for a rip-roaring time and witness some hefty war crimes in action. You know who didn’t like podcasts? Hitler. Food for thought. So it goes.
