Then, we journey to the streets of Brittany, where the Lioness of Brittany takes revenge in a tale that's as chilling as it is captivating. From the supernatural to the technological, the duo wonders if smart devices are more than just gadgets—could they actually be portals to the beyond? For nearly 2,400 years the Copper Scroll laid in a cave near Khirbet Qumran high above the shores of the Dead Sea. It was unearthed in 1952 and was found to contain a list of treasures and a verbal map to those treasures estimated to be worth BILLIONS and may even contain the Ark of the Covenant. Despite having the text, the actual location of these treasures baffled archeologists for decades. That is until Jim Barfield unlocked the secrets to the Copper Scroll in 2006.Within 3 years Israel began excavating before the project was abruptly put to and end and never resumed. We ask Jim Barfield himself to recount the story of how he discovered the secrets, when the treasures will be uncovered and how all this relates to end times prophecy and the coming of the Messiah. Between 1946 and 1952 the archeology world was stunned to find ancient Jewish documents dating up through the life of Jesus and containing thousands of never-seen-before texts. The uproar and search rocked the religious and scientific communities and started a search worthy of a Raiders of the Lost Ark movie. One of the last of the rare finds was a copper scroll which contained 64 locations telling where the riches of the Second Temple of Jerusalem were buried. In this episode we discuss the finding of the Gnostic Texts, The Dead Sea Scrolls, and the Copper Scrolls, as well as the wealth of Jerusalem prior to the Roman siege and sacking of the Holy Temple in AD70., which is estimated in the billions today. Many feel that Rome left much of the treasure undiscovered- and once the true key to the Copper Scroll is found, a huge treasure awaits its rightful owners. Learn more about your ad choices. Jim Barfield is an award winning arson investigator who has turned his investigative skills from the ruins of criminal arson to the ancient ruins of Qumran in the Judean Desert of Israel. Jim's professional careers as an Army Scout Pilot, Helicopter Test Pilot, Training, Advising and Counseling Officer and Award winning Arson Investigator for Oklahoma and Internationally. His training seems an odd combination to prepare a man to solve the mystery of the Copper Scroll but many in the Israel Antiquities Authority believe he has done it. Jim has spent the last nine years trying to get the Israeli Officials to let him finish a superficial excavation conducted at Qumran based on his Copper Scroll Project research in April of 2009.
Joshua is a Christian hard rock/AOR band that formed in 1980 and is centered on guitarist Joshua Perahia. Despite being based in Los Angeles, CA they are probably best known outside of the United States. The band's first release was entitled The Hand Is Quicker Than the Eye, which referred to Perahia's guitar skills and songwriting ability, was released by Enigma Records in 1983. The single "November Is Going Away" was the band's biggest hit, achieving No. 1 status in Japan. Perahia had a religious experience at a Hal Lindsey–lead Bible study in 1983, and converted to Protestant Christianity from his Greek Orthodox upbringing.Perahia put together a new band for his 2nd album, Surrender, which included singer Jeff Fenholt. Surrender was released in 1985. Lyrically, the album marked a change in the band's style to lyrics which were evangelical in nature. Rob Rock was involved with their third album on RCA Records, Intense Defense. In 1988, Intense Defense, which was recorded at Dierks Studios and produced initially by Eddie Kramer and then Dieter Dierks (Scorpions fame) was characterized by the editor of HM Magazine as being "probably the best AOR melodic metal album in the universe." It sold well worldwide, but not in the United States. In 1995, the group re-formed and they released one album under the name M Pire, Chapter One, though it was never released in the US. The band then expanded its name back to Joshua Perahia. The addition of Joshua's last name was to avoid confusion as so many bands were using the name Joshua at the time. The band lacked a permanent vocalist and hired Alex Ligertwood of Santana to fill the spot on the follow-up Something to Say in 2001. However, while in production, the band recruited Jerry Gabriel and re-recorded the vocals. As a result, the album (except four tracks) contains Gabriel's lead vocals, and Ligertwood's vocals are available on a re-release. One song, "The First and the Last", appeared in the Larry Buchanan–directed movie The Copper Scroll of Mary Magdalene in 2004.2012 saw the release of the band's latest work, entitled “Resurrection” and featured vocals from Mark Boals (Yngwie Malmsteen, Ring of Fire, Shining Black, etc.). While Joshua still writes music today for a possible future release he has shifted his focus to his son and their passion for vintage muscle cars and exotic cars as well. It's a passion that was ignited when Joshua was just 13 years old. The fact that Joshua still writes music means that fans can be hopeful of seeing a new recording in the future but for now please enjoy this episode of The Jersey Guys Podcast!
Jim is a retired criminal investigator with multiple career positions leading up to his retirement from the Lawton, Oklahoma Fire Department in August of 2005.An avid Bible study student, Barfield studied the Dead Sea Scrolls and that study led him to information about The Copper Scroll which has descriptions of valuable treasures such as artifacts, gold, silver, gems. Legend has it that once the scroll is discovered, it will lead to the end of times. For nearly 2,400 years the scroll laid in a cave near Khirbet Qumran high above the shores of the Dead Sea until 1952. The two deteriorating rolls lay side by side on a stone outcropping in the cave hidden, according to records, by a desparate team of holy men seeking to preserve their faith. One, a single sheet of hammered copper, the other larger roll contained two similar sheets riveted together end to end. Their barely visible text pressed into the thin copper teased those that could read it unmercifully.Scholarly disagreements of how to open the thing bounced back and forth for five years. If the document was ever to be opened, something had to be done. Finally experts formulated a workable plan to open the scroll and the delicate task fell to Professor H. Very little serious archaeology involves the adventure and raw excitement of an Indiana Jones adventure. But among the items found by archaeologists in the year 1952, in a cave not far from the Dead Sea, was a most unusual scroll, made not of parchment but of copper. Today we discuss the mystery of 3Q15 -- also known as the Copper Scroll. One of the most mysterious, and potentially valuable finds, in archeology. An enigmatic and totally unique document, scratched onto copper, that hints at the locations of over 2 billion USD worth of hidden treasure, left in a cave almost 2000 years ago. Who wrote the copper scroll? Is the treasure real? If so, whose treasure was it? And why, after decades of searching, has none of the treasure been found? Since we can't definitively answer any of those questions, we will detour into the history of the Essenes, the commune and caves at Qumran, the finding and controversies around the Dead Sea Scrolls, and the defeat and subsequent victory of the Romans in the first Jewish War. Odds are you've heard of the Dead Sea scrolls -- when the first of these ancient texts were discovered in the 1940s, the scrolls revolutionized our understanding of the past, and, in some cases, gave historians and archaeologists more questions than answers. One scroll, discovered in 1952, remains unique in the collection. It doesn't contain religious information, and it doesn't recount earlier stories from the region. Instead, this scroll (the only one written on copper) appears to be a treasure guide. So what happened to the gold, silver and artifacts catalogued on the scroll? Were these caches discovered thousands of years ago... or are these hidden treasures still somewhere out there today, waiting to be discovered? It is well documented in history and archaeology that in AD 70 the Roman Legions under Titus & Vespasian laid siege to Jerusalem and destroyed it along with the gleaming Jewish Temple that Herod I had built on the expanded Temple Mount. In 1948 the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered in the Judean desert at Wadi Qumran near the ancient archaeological site of Qumran (believed to be the home of the Jewish sect of the Essenes). In 1952 two rolled up copper scrolls were discovered in Cave 3 at Qumran. In this episode Ted interviews Shelley Neese, a journalist who has lived and worked in Israel and is also the author of the book, "The Copper Scroll Project." Don't miss this fascinating interview to learn what the Copper Scroll is and the possibility that amazing artifacts from the Second Temple Period may be buried in the ground right at the site Qumran itself! George Lucas and Steven Spielberg are undoubtedly two of the 20th century’s best and most influential directors and screenwriters. Rarely did these two collaborate, but the first time they did, they brought to life one of the greatest adventure series of all time - Indiana Jones. What is it that draws us to Indiana Jones and his archaeological adventures? Is it the quest for hidden treasures? Is it the thrill of uncovering the secrets of our long lost past? Or is it the ridiculously life-threatening situations into which he inevitably stumbles? Probably all of the above. And more. But for some people, watching Indiana Jones isn’t enough. Jim Barfield is a firefighter and a criminal investigator from Oklahoma, with a passion for the bible, and a fascination with the Dead Sea Scrolls, particularly the Copper Scroll, which unlike the other dead sea scrolls, is not a literary work, but rather a list of places. But not just random places, places where supposedly, buried in the ground are various items of gold and silver. In other words, a bonafide treasure map. So in a sense, today on the podcast we’re joined by a real life Indiana Jones. Here to tell us the story of the Copper Scroll is Jim Barfield.
Of all the Dead Sea Scrolls, one stands out because it's made of copper and contains directions for finding a huge secret cache of treasure. There are hidden treasures all around the world just waiting to be discovered by adventurous hunters. The stories on this list chronicle some of the most enigmatic fourtunes hiding out there. These are 5 most Mysterious treasures around the world. 5. Oak Island Money Pit Considered one of the last great-unsolved mysteries in the world, the Oak Island Money Pit in Nova Scotia has baffled many people since 1795. During that year, a young man named Daniel McInnis found a shallow depression in Oak Island. Intrigued, Daniel, together with two friends, began digging, hoping to find what was underneath. The trio uncovered flagstones after several feet. Then, about ten feet after that, they found a tier of rotten logs. 4. Forrest Fenn What's one of the best ways to leave a legacy? Tell everyone you buried $2 million dollars worth of treasure and urge them to go out and find it. That's exactly what eccentric multimillionaire, Forrest Fenn has done. Fenn is a former air force pilot, business entrepreneur, writer and artifacts collector. At 86 when he penned his memoir, Thrill of the Chase, he decided to stir controversy by stating he buried a treasure chest containing $2 million worth of gold and jewels in the Rocky Mountains, just North of Santa Fe. Clues pointing to the exact location of the treasure are hidden inside a poem in his book. He has also given additional hints and clues in interviews as well as blog postings. 3. Beale Cyphers The Beale Cyphers or the Beale Papers is a three-page pamphlet containing cipher codes published in 1885. Out of all three pamphlets, only one has been deciphered so far and what it says is quite intriguing. According to the story, a frontiersman named Thomas J. Beale left behind the cipher texts in the 1820’s. He met an innkeeper by the name of Robert Morris and left behind the pamphlets in a strongbox before going out mining. Over the course of several months, Morris received letters from Beale chronicling his mining expedition and providing instructions to Morris not to open the strongbox until 1832. 2. Saddle Ridge Gold Discovered in 2013, the Saddle Ridge Gold is one of the biggest treasure finds in recent history. It began when a couple walked their dog one morning around their property in Califorinia. Although they've used the trail numerous times, that morning, they discovered a rusty tin can poking out of the ground. They took the can home thinking it contained lead paint. But while struggling to carry it, a portion of the lid cracked open to reveal the edge of a single gold coin. 1. Copper Scroll Treasure First discovered in the caves of Qumran in Israel, the Copper Scroll was found alongside the scrolls that would later on become labeled as the Dead Sea Scrolls and eventually make up the Bible. However, the copper scroll was different from the rest of those found in the stash. Whereas the Dead Sea Scrolls were written on papyrus and paper, this one is made and written on copper mixed with tin. The scroll was found on March 14, 1952 and one of the last 15 scrolls found in Cave 3 of the Qumran site. Those were the 5 Most Mysterious Treasures Around the World The promise of finding the ultimate treasure is always exciting. The clues pointing to these fourtunes may be cracked one day or they might not. Whatever the case, if you do go searching for it, the thrill of the hunt and promise of adventure is guaranteed.
ABOUT JIM BARFIELD Director, The Copper Scroll Project The Copper Scroll has more prophecy in the first line than all the other non-Biblical texts put together. Full name: Jimmy Don Barfield I Director, The Copper Scroll Project Produced 300 page document proving ample evidence and research for findings. Retired Federal Police Officer Award-winning arson investigator Nationally and Internationally Self-proclaimed archeologist Army Scout Pilot Jim Barfield is an award winning arson investigator who has turned his investigative skills from the ruins of criminal arson to the ancient ruins of Qumran in the Judean Desert of Israel. Jim’s professional careers as an Army Scout Pilot, Helicopter Test Pilot, Training, Advising and Counseling Officer and Award winning Arson Investigator for Oklahoma and Internationally. Jim Barfield believes the Ark of the Covenant is in Qumran, the area of the Judean Desert where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. In 1952, a fragile scroll made of copper was discovered in a cave above the Dead Sea at Qumran. The Copper Scroll is materially unique in that it was written on thin, hammered copper, rather than the less durable papyrus or parchment, which were the materials used for all of the other scrolls. Jim Barfield, founder and director of The Copper Scroll Project, believes he has found in the enigmatic Copper Scroll the key to the location of the cave where the Ark of the Covenant is hidden, along with the Tabernacle in the Wilderness and the Altar of Incense. The Copper Scroll, he believes, also shows the locations of 56 additional sites where vast hoards of sacred treasures are buried — including tons of Temple items made of gold and silver from the Temple of Solomon. Jim is a retired criminal investigator with multiple career positions leading up to his retirement from the Lawton, Oklahoma Fire Department in August of 2005. During his years as a firefighter, Jim had evenings and weekends to dig deep into his favorite pass time, hobby and personal interest, Bible study. That passion eventually led him to the Dead Sea Scrolls where he came across the l

“Unbelievable”, “ridiculous” and “impossible” are but a few terms that have been thrown at Jim Barfield, but after five minutes into the full Copper Scroll Project Disclosure even the most rigid skeptic sat up and listened. Join us as Jim Barfield talks about the Mystery of the hidden temple treasures, gold, silver, and more described in the copper scrolls. Find out how this will impact the last days before Yeshua's return.
Do I understand your position correctly that the story in Genesis Chapter 3, about the serpent and the eating of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil by the man and the woman, is more about a conflict between two gods, Nehushtan and Yahweh with Nehushtan winning? The two lists of the descendants of Cain and Seth are almost identical, with similar or identical names appearing in much the same order. Is this just another example of two versions of the same story being told as if they were separate stories, as is so common in the bible? Also, could you recommend a book or books on Canaanite mythology? Differences between the Synoptic accounts of the healing of Peter's mother-in-law. So if we discard a historical Jesus, we also get to discard the Apostles, right? If God is supposed to be eternal and unchanging and outside of time, how do apologists square the circle and give him a changing, mortal, human nature that exists inside of time? What is the best order to read the OT books to get an understanding of the history of Israel it's trying to propose? Why are the crowd telling Bartimaeus to be quiet? Is it because he is calling Jesus the Son of David? Why the detail of throwing aside his cloak? Is the name a play on Plato's work Timaeus, and that Bartimaeus regains his sight when he throws away his philosopher's cloak, abandons, Platonism, and follows Jesus? John Allegro used the locations from the Copper Scroll from Qumran for several archaeological digs in the hope of finding treasure described in the scroll. While he did find the locations, in each case thieves had already made off with the loot. Given that some scholars posit that Jesus was part of the Qumran community, do you think Matthew 6:19-21 could be in response to his own sectarians? Where do you think the Marcionites would fit into Margaret Barker's Christian reconstruction? When Jesus mentions Abraham's Bosom in the story of Lazarus and the rich man, what is he (or his author) referring to? Isn't Jeremiah 20:14-18 a reference to abortion? Doesn't the Two-Source Hypothesis presuppose or imply Matthew and Luke's respective ignorance of one another since they differ most significantly in the narrative material not taken from Mark? If this is the case, doesn't this clash with the hypothesis of Polycarp as both the Ecclesiastical Redactor (or more to the point, Expander) of Ur-Lukas or Marcion's "Luke" and the compiler of a New Testament canon, as he would then have to be well aware of Matthew? I wonder if you could comment on the parable of the wedding banquet (Matthew 22:1-14).
