Edward Woodford is the CEO and Co-founder of Zero Hash, a leading crypto-as-a-service platform that enables businesses to integrate digital assets into their offerings. Under his leadership, Zero Hash has processed over $45 billion in transactions and secured over $170 million in funding from prominent investors, including Point72 Ventures and Bain Capital Ventures. Before founding Zero Hash, Edward co-founded Seed CX, a CFTC-registered derivatives execution venue, and gained experience at various hedge funds and startups. He holds a BA in philosophy, politics, and economics from the University of Warwick and a master's degree in finance from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In this episode… Many businesses struggle to navigate the complexity of integrating digital assets like crypto and stablecoins into their platforms. As regulations shift and technology rapidly evolves, companies face overwhelming barriers when adopting seamless, secure payment infrastructures. So, how can organizations overcome these hurdles to leverage emerging technologies and stay competitive? Edward Woodford, an expert in crypto infrastructure and digital payments, shares valuable insights on breaking down these barriers. He emphasizes the importance of abstracting technical complexities through infrastructure solutions, allowing companies to easily embed crypto and stablecoins without getting bogged down in regulation or fragmentation. He outlines the value of stablecoins for instant, low-cost transactions, highlights the growing importance of crypto rewards, and advises businesses to pivot quickly based on customer needs and market signals, just as his team did during their early pivot from a B2C to a B2B model. In this episode of the Inspired Insider Podcast, Dr. Jeremy Weisz interviews Edward Woodford, Co-founder and CEO of Zero Hash, about building digital asset infrastructure. Edward discusses simplifying crypto adoption, evolving company strategy through customer feedback, and the critical role of stablecoins in future payment systems. He also shares insights on team development, leadership growth, and scaling through major fundraising rounds.

Crypto brokers are making money hand over fist.  The direct listing of Coinbase put on display just how much money such firms are making, with the exchange reporting nearly $2 billion in revenues during the first quarter of 2021. Much of those revenues were transactional and from trades made on its retail brokerage platform. Other large brokerages want in on the action, according to Edward Woodford, CEO of crypto firm ZeroHash. The Chicago-based firm works with brokers to jumpstart their own solutions to serve retail clients. On this episode of The Scoop, Woodford joins options brokerage industry trailblazer Tom Sosnoff to discuss why brokers want to create one-stop shops for their clients by incorporating crypto trading as well as the revenue opportunities crypto presents. Sosnoff founded tastyworks, which began offering crypto through a partnership with ZeroHash announced at the end of last year. At a time when cryptocurrency is rising in popularity, while also coming under scrutiny for its unregulated elements, Edward and his Seed CX co-founder Brian Liston are attempting to bring a more traditional audience into the game. After raising $25.1 million in 2015, the company said they were the first digital ass exchange with clients exclusively from “established institutions.”

Welcome to Ledger Cast, hosted by me, Brian Krogsgard (@ledgerstatus on twitter), and Josh Olszewicz (@carpenoctom). Ledger Cast is a cryptocurrency trading and blockchain ecosystem podcast. Ledger Cast is brought to you in partnership with Brave New Coin. You can subscribe to new episodes of Ledger Cast on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, Stitcher, YouTube and via RSS. The information in this podcast should not be construed as investment advice, it is purely educational material and you should always do your own research before buying. In this episode, I talk to Edward Woodford, the CEO and co-founder of Seed CX. Seed CX is a platform for institutional investors to trade crypto, with up around 3x margin. We discuss the challenges building a product for institutions, for acquiring proper licensing in the United States, and a bunch of stuff around building a quality exchange business and trading experience. SeedCX interests me for a couple reasons. For one, collateral is very flexible and can be in bitcoin or multiple forms of fiat. Secondarily, taker fees are only 8 basis fees and maker fees are 0. Thirdly, there is a nightly settlement process so each customer has their own wallets, while trading is on their centralized platform. I enjoyed this chat with Edward, learning how they have built things, and the challenges they face -- particularly the competition with more "cowboy" exchanges. Thanks to our new sitewide partner, Brave New Coin.
