The Resistance Front (TRF), linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility. Agencies say bookings dropped overnight, with customers demanding refunds—even for non-refundable trips—leading to operational chaos. In response, SpiceJet, Air India, and IndiGo have added emergency flights out of Srinagar and are offering waivers on cancellations and rescheduling for bookings made before April 22, valid through April 30. The attack has derailed Kashmir's fragile post-pandemic tourism recovery. India-Saudi Arabia Boost Energy Ties with Refinery Pact During Prime Minister Modi's visit to Jeddah, India and Saudi Arabia agreed to jointly set up two oil refineries in India, part of a broader push to strengthen strategic ties. The agreement was sealed during the India-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council meeting co-chaired by Modi and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The two countries reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's $100 billion investment commitment, spanning energy, fintech, infrastructure, and health. Additional MoUs were signed on space collaboration, healthcare, and postal services, and new committees were created for defence and tourism cooperation. Though Modi cut short his visit after the Kashmir attack, momentum on bilateral ties remains strong. Lodha vs Lodha: A Real Estate Rivalry Brews in Mumbai In a bold move, Abhinandan Lodha's House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL) is stepping into Mumbai's competitive real estate market—directly challenging big brother Abhishek Lodha's Macrotech Developers. HoABL announced three vertical projects, including a landmark American Culture Center in Marine Lines, a Chowpatty beachfront project, and a joint venture in Naigaon, with a total investment of ₹2,500 crore and projected revenue of ₹3,500 crore. Known for its plotted development outside Mumbai, HoABL now aims for 50% of its revenue from vertical projects within 2-3 years. With approvals in place and construction beginning by year-end, Mumbai's skyline may become the new Lodha battleground. SEBI's Fast-Track Dispute Resolution Plan Draws Mixed Reactions SEBI's latest consultation paper proposes a faster, tech-driven online dispute resolution (ODR) framework for the securities market, including direct arbitration for claims over ₹10 crore. Legal experts back the move for greater certainty and accountability, but warn that mandating a 100% deposit to appeal arbitral awards could discourage retail investors. The proposal also seeks to differentiate regulatory vs. contractual disputes, a grey area that's caused confusion in the past. SEBI plans digital filings, 21-day conciliation timelines, and a round-robin panel allocation system. While hailed as a step forward in improving market efficiency, experts urge flexibility for complex or multi-party cases. Public feedback is open until May 12. Luxury Shoppers Face 1% Tax on Big-Ticket Buys From April 22, 2025, India's luxury buyers will need to factor in a 1% Tax Collected at Source (TCS) on purchases over ₹10 lakh, as per a new CBDT directive. This includes high-end items like watches, artworks, collectibles, yachts, designer bags, shoes, sports gear, and even home theatres and racehorses. The tax applies to the entire transaction value once the ₹10 lakh threshold is breached. “This aligns with global trends in tax transparency and tracking high-value consumption,” said Munjal Almoula of BDO India. The move is part of a broader strategy to widen the tax base and monitor luxury spending.
Today we have Søren from Prisma on the show. Prisma has been the most popular ORM in the TypeScript world for a while, and now they're moving more into hosted infrastructure. We spend a lot of time talking about their new offering called Prisma Postgres, which is this unikernel-based Postgres offering. It's a really unique offering from both a technical and a product perspective. On the technical side, they're doing some interesting work compared to other Postgres providers. They're running on bare metal in a colocation facility rather than the default public clouds like AWS, GCP, and Azure. Further, they're using unikernels in a Firecracker VM, giving them unique startup and security characteristics. These technical decisions give them unique economics compared to standard providers, so they're able to have a generous free tier and a unique billing model that works great for serverless applications with spiky workloads. Around all of this, it's very interesting to see a company with such a unique spread of products — a popular, mature open-source library paired with a mission-critical infrastructure service offering. We talked about the difficulties in building a company that accommodates these two very different products. Slovensko trpí aj nadmerným formalizmom a legislatívnou neistotou, hovorí Ján Azud z advokátskej kancelárie RUŽIČKA AND PARTNERS. Naopak, súkromný sektor primárne sleduje zisk a nepovažuje svoju účasť za „službu vlasti“,“ hovorí advokát a partner advokátskej kancelárie RUŽIČKA AND PARTNERS, Ján Azud.

The deal surpassed estimates, with Nomura valuing it at 18x EV/EBITDA for FY25. ABREL's paper segment has struggled, with revenue falling 5.5% YoY in FY24 and margins shrinking by 410 basis points. The sale will help reduce net debt (₹4,300 crore) to near-zero, boosting ABREL's real estate expansion. However, significant cash flow from projects like Niyaara will only materialize from FY27 onwards. ABREL's stock is down 21% in 2025, and investors await Q4 results and the Niyaara Phase 3 launch in FY26. CAG Report Flags Revenue Losses, Weak Oversight in Telecom & Digital Infra The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has raised alarms over governance failures in telecom, electronics, and postal services: • Telecom: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) failed to recover ₹2,463.67 crore from telcos due to delayed audits. BSNL lost ₹1,757.76 crore by failing to bill Reliance Jio for technology use. • Electronics Manufacturing: Under M-SIPS, only ₹2,136 crore was disbursed from ₹36,991 crore in committed investments, causing policy instability for investors. • Digital Infrastructure: The ₹6,548-crore National Knowledge Network for research institutions was flagged for poor bandwidth utilization and cybersecurity gaps. • Postal Services: GST mismanagement and irregular promotions resulted in ₹17.22 crore in tax losses. The findings expose execution flaws in India's push for digital self-reliance. What if launching your own Layer 1 blockchain was as fast and seamless as spinning up a cloud server? In this episode of The Index, Jin Kwon, Co-founder of Saga.xyz, shares how Saga is redefining how developers scale in Web3. Rather than relying on rollups or months of coordination, Saga lets you launch your own Layer 1 chain—called a chainlet—in just minutes.Jin explains how his computer architecture and finance background helped shape Saga's vision and why automation is key to building scalable blockchain infrastructure. He breaks down how Saga's validator system works, how pricing is dynamically optimized through competition, and how chainlets come pre-integrated with bridges and liquidity—all with minimal developer effort. The conversation also explores the future of application-level sharding, using Uniswap as a real-world example of how splitting liquidity across multiple chainlets could unlock massive throughput without compromising user experience. If you're a developer looking for faster, cheaper, and more modular ways to build in Web3, this episode is packed with insights into where blockchain infrastructure is headed.Connect with Jin Kwon and the Saga team:Saga: https://www.saga.xyz/Follow on X: https://x.com/sagaxyz__Follow us:The Index (https://www.podpage.com/the-index-podcast/) X Channel (https://x.com/theindexshow) YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCP-VGLfPNwianYhY-oqq5zg)Show LinksThe Index X ChannelYouTube
The energy revolution is moving at pace, and Mitsubishi Power Europe is in the vanguard as it supports the transition of natural gas power plants to hydrogen. In this latest episode of the Infra Dig podcast, IJGlobal editorial director Angus Leslie Melville speaks to Javier Cavada – president and chief executive of Mitsubishi Power Europe – to hear how the market is shifting. In a slightly-longer-than-normal podcast, Javier takes the listener through the evolution of methane-fuelled power plants into blended facilities with hydrogen co-firing large frame gas turbines. The technology is now tried-and-tested and there is capacity for gas turbines to run on 100% hydrogen. The future's electric. The future's hydrogen. The future's coming a lot faster than many people anticipate.
Today we are joined by Dr. R.P. Oates, founder of INergy Wellness in Friday Harbor, Washington. R.P. is a multidisciplinary scientist who's previous career spans two decades of research experience across chemistry, toxicology, and biotechnology. Holding an MS in Organic Chemistry with a focus on photochemistry and a PhD in Toxicology focused on how physical forces in nature impact biological systems. At INergy Wellness, R.P. now offers personalized sessions of FDA-cleared full body red light therapy, Infra red sauna, and cold plunge for optimal cellular wellness designed to guide clients toward their own unique path to wellness on San Juan Island. For those curious about the book quote we discussed in the interview, here it is below!“The best thing for being sad," replied Merlin, beginning to puff and blow, "is to learn something. That's the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then — to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you. Look what a lot of things there are to learn."TH White, from the book The Once and Future King

The goal is to have 30% of newly registered private cars to be electric by 2030 but range anxiety caused by the lack of adequate charging infrastructure could put paid to that. India has 200 EVs per commercial charging point, which compares very poorly to the average of 20 in the US and less than 10 in China. What's needed very quickly is greater investment in the sector, clear land acquisition norms and more tax incentives. Please listen to the latest episode of All Indians Matter. In this episode of Web3 with Sam Kamani, I sit down with Michael O'Rourke from Pocket Network & Grove to discuss the future of decentralized infrastructure in Web3.Key topics we cover:
In today's episode, we explore the future of building infra for compliance, and the next era of investing following the massive infra wave of 2017-2024.Typically, in crypto there have always been tradeoffs…Want transparency? You lose privacy. Want privacy? Regulators get nervous. Join us as we chat with Wyatt from VanEck Ventures and Xiang Xie from Primus dive into how Primus is using ZKTLS and ZKFHE to transform blockchain data integrity. While traditional systems expose sensitive data through oracles, ZKTLS proves authenticity without revealing the underlying info. Add in ZKFHE's encrypted data computation, and we're looking at a game-changer for onchain finance (according to institutional investors). We break down the investment thesis in Primus and cover insights on crypto infrastructure funding as a whole. We also explore how privacy-preserving financial infrastructure fits into the regulatory landscape, from payment systems to stablecoins and KYC. Plus, we'll tackle the exciting fusion of ZK tech and AI in crypto, showing how it's revolutionizing everything from AI verification to streamlined, privacy-focused KYC.Enjoy.Join The Rollup Edge: https://members.therollup.coWebsite: https://therollup.co/Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1P6ZeYd..Podcast: https://therollup.co/category/podcastFollow us on X: https://www.x.com/therollupcoFollow Rob on X: https://www.x.com/robbie_rollupFollow Andy on X: https://www.x.com/ayyyeandyJoin our TG group: https://t.me/+8ARkR_YZixE5YjBhThe Rollup Disclosures: https://therollup.co/the-rollup-discl
