Lex chats with Edward Woodford - CEO of Zerohash. They discuss Zerohash's growth, the rise of stablecoins, and the evolving fintech landscape. Edward explains how stablecoins now make up half of Zerohash's volume, highlights regulatory shifts in the U.S. and abroad, and explores the distinction between crypto and stablecoins. The conversation covers usability challenges, emerging payment use cases, and the future of embedded finance, emphasizing the need for regulatory clarity and collaboration between fintechs and traditional financial institutions. Notable discussion points: 1. Stablecoins Overtake Crypto in Volume: Stablecoins now make up over 50% of Zerohash's volume, driven by regulatory clarity and real-world use cases like payments and treasury. Institutions prefer them for their centralized control and ease of integration.2. Brokerage and Payments Are Converging: Zerohash sees strong demand across brokerage and payment rails, with banks and fintechs embedding stablecoin infrastructure. Global payouts, account funding, and subscriptions are key growth areas despite UX friction.3. Regulatory Climate Is Rapidly Improving: U.S. policy has shifted from regulatory overreach to bipartisan support for stablecoin legislation. This change is unlocking institutional adoption, with banks now moving aggressively into crypto and digital assets. MENTIONED IN THE CONVERSATION Topics: Zerohash, MoonPay, Transak, Ramp, Stripe, BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, Hamilton Lane, Morgan Stanley, Charles Schwab, SoFi, Uniswap, fintech, web3, digital assets, blockchain, tokenization, rwas, stablecoin, crypto, regulation ABOUT THE FINTECH BLUEPRINT

LLMs are reshaping the future of data and AI—and ignoring them might just be career malpractice. Yoni Michael and Kostas Pardalis unpack what's breaking, what's emerging, and why inference is becoming the new heartbeat of the data pipeline.// BioKostas PardalisKostas is an engineer-turned-entrepreneur with a passion for building products and companies in the data space. He's currently the co-founder of Typedef. Before that, he worked closely with the creators of Trino at Starburst Data on some exciting projects. Earlier in his career, he was part of the leadership team at Rudderstack, helping the company grow from zero to a successful Series B in under two years. He also founded Blendo in 2014, one of the first cloud-based ELT solutions.Yoni MichaelYoni is the Co-Founder of typedef, a serverless data platform purpose-built to help teams process unstructured text and run LLM inference pipelines at scale. With a deep background in data infrastructure, Yoni has spent over a decade building systems at the intersection of data and AI — including leading infrastructure at Tecton and engineering teams at Salesforce.Yoni is passionate about rethinking how teams extract insight from massive troves of text, transcripts, and documents — and believes the future of analytics depends on bridging traditional data pipelines with modern AI workflows. At Typedef, he's working to make that future accessible to every team, without the complexity of managing infrastructure.// Related LinksWebsite: https://www.typedef.aihttps://techontherocks.showhttps://www.cpard.xyz~~~~~~~~ ✌️Connect With Us ✌️ ~~~~~~~Catch all episodes, blogs, newsletters, and more: https://go.mlops.community/TYExploreMLOps Swag/Merch: [https://shop.mlops.community/]Connect with Demetrios on LinkedIn: /dpbrinkmConnect with Kostas on LinkedIn: /kostaspardalis/Connect with Yoni on LinkedIn: /yonimichael/Timestamps:[00:00] Breaking Tools, Evolving Data Workloads[06:35] Building Truly Great Data Teams[10:49] Making Data Platforms Actually Useful[18:54] Scaling AI with Native Integration[24:04] Empowering Employees to Build Agents[28:17] Rise of the AI Sherpa[36:09] Real AI Infrastructure Pain Points[38:05] Fixing Gaps Between Data, AI[46:04] Smarter Decisions Through Better Data[50:18] LLMs as Human-Machine Interfaces[53:40] Why Summarization Still Falls Short[01:01:15] Smarter Chunking, Fixing Text Issues[01:09:08] Evaluating AI with Canary Pipelines[01:11:46] Finding Use Cases That Matter[01:17:38] Cutting Costs, Keeping AI Quality[01:25:15] Aligning MLOps to Business Outcomes[01:29:44] Communities Thrive on Cross-Pollination[01:34:56] Evaluation Tools Quietly Consolidating

Labelbox CEO Manu Sharma joins a16z Infra partner Matt Bornstein to explore the evolution of data labeling and evaluation in AI — from early supervised learning to today's sophisticated reinforcement learning loops.Manu recounts Labelbox's origins in computer vision, and then how the shift to foundation models and generative AI changed the game. The value moved from pre-training to post-training and, today, models are trained not just to answer questions, but to assess the quality of their own responses. Labelbox has responded by building a global network of “aligners” — top professionals from fields like  coding, healthcare, and customer service, who label and evaluate data used to fine-tune AI systems. The conversation also touches on Meta's acquisition of Scale AI, underscoring how critical data and talent have become in the AGI race. Here's a sample of Manu explaining how Labelbox was able to transition from one era of AI to another:It took us some time to really understand like that the world is shifting from building AI models to renting AI intelligence. A vast number of enterprises around the world are no longer building their own models; they're actually renting base intelligence and adding on top of it to make that work for their company. And that was a very big shift. But then the even bigger opportunity was the hyperscalers and the AI labs that are spending billions of dollars of capital developing these models and data sets. We really ought to go and figure out and innovate for them. For us, it was a big shift from the DNA perspective because Labelbox was built with a hardcore software-tools mindset. Our go-to market, engineering, and product and design teams operated like software companies. But I think the hardest part for many of us, at that time, was to just make the decision that we're going just go try it and do it. And nothing is better than that: "Let's just go build an MVP and see what happens."Follow everyone on X:Manu SharmaMatt Bornstein Check out everything a16z is doing with artificial intelligence here, including articles, projects, and more podcasts.

Rajgopal is the Managing Director & CEO of NxtGen Cloud Technologies, one of India's leading sovereign cloud providers. With nearly 30 years of corporate experience at Dell, Microsoft, and Reliance Communications, he built and led Reliance's enterprise division to over ₹1000 crores in revenue. Today we have Søren from Prisma on the show. Prisma has been the most popular ORM in the TypeScript world for a while, and now they're moving more into hosted infrastructure. We spend a lot of time talking about their new offering called Prisma Postgres, which is this unikernel-based Postgres offering. It's a really unique offering from both a technical and a product perspective. On the technical side, they're doing some interesting work compared to other Postgres providers. They're running on bare metal in a colocation facility rather than the default public clouds like AWS, GCP, and Azure. Further, they're using unikernels in a Firecracker VM, giving them unique startup and security characteristics. These technical decisions give them unique economics compared to standard providers, so they're able to have a generous free tier and a unique billing model that works great for serverless applications with spiky workloads. Around all of this, it's very interesting to see a company with such a unique spread of products — a popular, mature open-source library paired with a mission-critical infrastructure service offering. We talked about the difficulties in building a company that accommodates these two very different products. Slovensko trpí aj nadmerným formalizmom a legislatívnou neistotou, hovorí Ján Azud z advokátskej kancelárie RUŽIČKA AND PARTNERS. Naopak, súkromný sektor primárne sleduje zisk a nepovažuje svoju účasť za „službu vlasti“,“ hovorí advokát a partner advokátskej kancelárie RUŽIČKA AND PARTNERS, Ján Azud.

What if launching your own Layer 1 blockchain was as fast and seamless as spinning up a cloud server? In this episode of The Index, Jin Kwon, Co-founder of Saga.xyz, shares how Saga is redefining how developers scale in Web3. Rather than relying on rollups or months of coordination, Saga lets you launch your own Layer 1 chain—called a chainlet—in just minutes.Jin explains how his computer architecture and finance background helped shape Saga's vision and why automation is key to building scalable blockchain infrastructure. He breaks down how Saga's validator system works, how pricing is dynamically optimized through competition, and how chainlets come pre-integrated with bridges and liquidity—all with minimal developer effort. The conversation also explores the future of application-level sharding, using Uniswap as a real-world example of how splitting liquidity across multiple chainlets could unlock massive throughput without compromising user experience. If you're a developer looking for faster, cheaper, and more modular ways to build in Web3, this episode is packed with insights into where blockchain infrastructure is headed.Connect with Jin Kwon and the Saga team:Saga: https://www.saga.xyz/Follow on X: https://x.com/sagaxyz__Follow us:The Index  (https://www.podpage.com/the-index-podcast/) X Channel (https://x.com/theindexshow) YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCP-VGLfPNwianYhY-oqq5zg)Show LinksThe Index X ChannelYouTube

At INergy Wellness, R.P. now offers personalized sessions of FDA-cleared full body red light therapy, Infra red sauna, and cold plunge for optimal cellular wellness designed to guide clients toward their own unique path to wellness on San Juan Island. For those curious about the book quote we discussed in the interview, here it is below!“The best thing for being sad," replied Merlin, beginning to puff and blow, "is to learn something. That's the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then — to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you. Look what a lot of things there are to learn."TH White, from the book The Once and Future King
