In a recent class with three intermediate students (8th-11th grade), we compared the music of Franz Schubert and Max Richter. Schubert was a prolific Austrian composer, writing at the end of the Classical period and the beginning of the Romantic period. During his brief life, he wrote over 1,500 works. He was known for his storytelling abilities: long, singing lines, dramatic mood swings, an improvisatory style that seems to wander at times, and emotional intensity.Max Richter is a contemporary German-born pianist and composer known for blending classical techniques with electronic, ambient, and minimalist styles. He names J.S. Bach as a key influence, and has championed the works of minimalists such as Arvo Pärt and John Cage. He drew inspiration from Schubert's Winterreise when creating his 2010 album Infra. In this episode, I'm taking you behind the scenes of this studio class, sharing the repertoire I introduced to my students, the discussion questions that guided our conversation, and a composition activity that students didn't want to end.For show notes + a full transcript, click here.Resources Mentioned*Disclosure: Some of the links in this episode are affiliate links, which means if you decide to purchase through any of them, I will earn a small commission. This episode is a wide-ranging conversation between Jacob and Swyx (Shawn Wang), an AI engineer, podcaster, and now operator at Cognition, who sits at a uniquely informed intersection of builder, investor, and community organizer in the AI world. The two cover the current state of the AI engineering zeitgeist: from the stabilization of agent infrastructure and the surprising stickiness of Claude Code, to the competitive dynamics of the AI coding wars, the rise of open models, the threat to traditional SaaS, and the frontier questions around world models, memory, and what it actually means for AI to "understand" something. The episode is grounded in practitioner-level candor, with Swyx offering real takes from running AIE conferences, working inside Cognition, and thinking deeply about what the next wave of AI-native software development looks like. In this week's episode of Energy Transition Today, we cover key developments across Europe's energy and infrastructure markets. We start in Poland with the newly passed UC84 reform, which aims to unblock grid connection queues but is already dividing opinion between local developers and international investors. We then turn to Sweden, where Stegra has secured €1.4 billion in fresh financing, offering a lifeline to its flagship green steel project, but raising broader questions about the bankability of industrial decarbonisation. In Poland again, we look at R.Power's latest solar financing and its growing storage ambitions, alongside Qualitas Energy's €190 million acquisition of a 376MW solar portfolio and plans to hybridise assets with batteries. We also discuss SDCL Efficiency Income Trust's decision to wind down its portfolio amid persistent NAV discounts, and finish with DWS-backed Stellanor's expansion into AI-ready data centres in the UK.Hosted by: Maya Chavvakula and Mathilde DorbessanEdited by: Mathilde DorbessanReach out to us at: podcasts@inspiratia.comFind all of our latest news and analysis by subscribing to inspiratiaFor tickets to our events email conferences@inspiratia.com or buy them directly on our website.

In our latest Open Source Startup Podcast episode, co-hosts Robby and Tim talk with Catherine Jue, Co-Founder and CEO of browser infrastructure company Kernel. Their open source images acts as a browsers-as-a-service for automations and web agents. In this episode, we break down what Kernel is building today and why browser infrastructure has quietly become one of the most important layers for AI agents. We talk about Kernel's focus on fast, low-latency cloud browsers, why performance matters more than people expect, and how developers can connect agents via APIs or MCP servers without spinning up heavy infrastructure themselves. We also explore the real-world use cases driving adoption - from a new wave of RPA for industries without APIs, to real-time web analysis, sales intelligence, and voice agents that need to respond instantly. Finally, we dig into Kernel's open-source, developer-first DNA, the technical bets behind its control plane and unikernel-based browsers, and why the team believes agentic workflows are still early, but inevitable.

Andy sits down with Dave Sutter, CEO and co-founder of OpenTrade, to unpack why stablecoins are rapidly becoming the most important financial primitive in crypto — and arguably the missing link between digital assets and traditional finance. Why you should listen Dave traces his journey from building early Bitcoin wallets and launching one of the first dollar-backed stablecoins, through years working with major regulated institutions, to founding OpenTrade in 2023. His core thesis is simple but bold: stablecoins are no longer a niche crypto product — they are evolving into internet-native dollars used by hundreds of millions of people worldwide for real payments, savings, and cross-border commerce The conversation dives deep into OpenTrade's role as institutional-grade "yield-as-a-service" infrastructure for stablecoins, enabling fintechs, neobanks, and platforms to embed yield directly into their apps without building complex financial plumbing themselves. Dave explains how OpenTrade allows users to earn yield across a wide spectrum — from ultra-safe U.S. Treasuries and money market funds, through higher-yield bonds and private credit, to delta-neutral crypto strategies and curated DeFi markets — all while keeping funds liquid and accessible. This shift, he argues, flips the old crypto narrative on its head: stablecoins are no longer just a parking spot between trades, but a competitive alternative to bank savings accounts that offer better yields with fully reserved, transparent structures. Zooming out, Dave makes the case that stablecoins are not just a technological upgrade but a reinvention of money itself — permissionless digital cash that anyone with an internet connection can hold, move, and earn on. He points to growing regulatory clarity, adoption by giants like Visa, PayPal, and Stripe, and even banking lobby warnings about deposit flight as evidence of how disruptive this shift really is. His bold conviction: stablecoin market capitalization will exceed $10 trillion within the next decade. The episode wraps with rapid-fire hot takes on Bitcoin vs multi-chain futures, the convergence of DeFi and real-world finance, and a shared love of science fiction — fitting for a conversation about a financial future that, as Dave puts it, is already here but not evenly distributed.
