The 80th Anniversary of the D-Day invasion included many reenactment jumps, but none as visually captivating as the one in Mont St. Michel. A jump that featured multiple sorties of C-47s and some of America's most important leaders donning the battle uniform of our airborne predecessors. Included in this stick was Florida Congressman and fellow Green Beret Mike Waltz. After a quick exit and soft landing, Congressman Waltz spent some time with Fran Racioppi on the drop zone to talk D-Day, World Order and the current state of Congress. With Mont-Saint Michel in the background, and jumpers still falling, they dug into our national security challenges in the Middle East, Ukraine and China; and how immigration policy is rapidly becoming the decisive issue. They also unpacked the need for professionalism in Congress, how polarization is affecting getting things done and what we can expect from our political leaders as we gear up for an election cycle that looks more like a night combat jump with high winds and a small drop zone. How has the mosaic of European politics been recast by the relentless waves of immigration? This pressing question takes center stage as Ambassador Ron Spogli and deputy editor Fraser Myers join me to unravel the complex tapestry of populism's ascent in the West. With the spotlight on Georgia Maloney's prime ministerial triumph in Italy, we peel back the layers of public sentiment that propelled her to power. The narrative reveals a populace not driven by xenophobia but by a fervent desire for reform and sovereignty over their borders, a sentiment echoing across the continent from France to Sweden. Our conversation takes a stark turn as we grapple with the troubling undercurrents of anti-Semitism and right-wing populism's magnetic pull on the younger generation, particularly among white males. The societal upheaval, marked by protests and unrest, sends ripples through the political arena, influencing electoral outcomes and challenging our collective sense of security. It's a delicate balance for governments to uphold free speech while maintaining order, and we dissect how this tension is reshaping the socio-political fabric of Western democracies.Peering into the crystal ball, we explore the shifting sands of European integration and the potential resurgence of nationalism over the next half-decade. We draw parallels with the assertive leadership of Putin and Xi and their possible impact on Europe's political climate. History serves as our guide, from the EU Constitution's rejection to the seismic jolt of Brexit, as we speculate on the continent's future trajectory. Ambassador Spogli and Fraser Myers leave us with a wealth of insights to ponder until their next visit to the Feudal Future podcast, where the dialogue on these ever-evolving issues will undoubtedly continue.Support Our WorkThe Center for Demographics and Policy focuses on research and analysis of global, national, and regional demographic trends and explores policies that might produce favorable demographic results over time. Our guest today is Douglas Murray, best-selling author of The Strange Death of Europe: Immigration, Identity and Islam and The Madness of Crowds: Gender, Race and Identity - and now he's back with The War On The West, how to prevail in the age of unreason. All the narratives and norms, the assumptions which underpin our understanding of the societies in the West we grew up in are under attack - from within. Much of it is being fought through just one single prism, race. He examines how Western civilisation and its achievements in culture, science medicine and free thought, not to mention how these were hard fought for and won, are being challenged by universities, corporations, broadcasters and the church, in what looks like a wilful self-immolation. And these anti-Western attacks also go after Jews and Israel. But what's the purpose of it? When will this debt be paid off by Western nations and their biggest populations? What's the end game - and what are the consequences? Is this how civilisations come to an end? What do we do? And if some of these progressive arguments prevail, can we all continue to live together in tolerance? Before you pack your bags, let Douglas present his arguments! Jonny Gould's Jewish State is brought to you with UK Toremet, Promoting Philanthropy.

Shermer and Murray discuss: • what it takes to become a successful writer • Is this “war” on Western civilization just a necessary course correction from the sins of the past? • Is at least some of the criticisms of Western civilization a form of revenge for past wrongs? • CRT: If racism is not the explanation for the present Black/White differences in income, wealth, home ownership, and representation in professional careers, what is? • Racism and Antiracism • 1619 Project • BLM movement • White privilege • Colonialism and decolonizing cultural things • Monuments • If Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln should be cancelled, what about Marx? • Anti-Semitism • Objectivity and the search for truth: is this a Western tradition only? • Reparations: don't we have a moral obligation to right a wrong? Prey: Immigration, Islam, and the Erosion of Women's Rights, Ayaan Hirsi Ali's book on the explosion of sexual violence and harassment in Europe, was published in early 2021. Since then, the book has sparked a worldwide discussion online and offline about the immigration of huge numbers of mostly young Muslim men (more than 3 million, by some reports) to European cities and its effect on the women who live there. To discuss this phenomenon, explain why many of these young men feel empowered to harass women, and offer some possible solutions, Peter Robinson is joined by Prey author and Hoover Institution research fellow Ayaan Hirsi Ali; Valerie Hudson, a professor of political science at the Bush School at Texas A&M University and an expert on women's rights and demographics; and Christopher Caldwell, a senior fellow at the Claremont Institute and the author of Reflections on the Revolution in Europe: Immigration, Islam, and the West, published in 2009, and The Age of Entitlement: America Since the Sixties, published just last year. Recorded on June 11, 2021
Wszędzie dostrzegamy objawy, jednak nie widzimy przyczyn" – pisze Douglas MURRAY - brytyjski pisarz i komentator polityczny, redaktor magazynu The Spectator, a także autor m.in.: Neoconservatism: Why We Need It (2005), The Strange Death of Europe: Immigration, Identity, Islam (2017) oraz The Madness of Crowds: Gender, Race and Identity (2019) Czyta: Mateusz MLECZKO

Christopher Caldwell's 2009 book on immigration to Europe is not bad, but it's been overtaken by events, and its analysis isn't subtle enough. (The written version of this review was first published January 15, 2018. Written versions, in web and PDF formats, are available here.)

Europe has received a wave of immigration from the global south in recent decades, similar in scope to the US—but very different in its results. Many immigrant and second-generation communities, particularly those hailing from the Muslim world, have astronomical unemployment rates and a thin connection to European identity. Some have produced riots and terrorism. If Europe has an Islam problem, whose fault is it? Is Islamic belief and culture incompatible with Western institutions? Or is there such a thing as “Islamophobia,” poisoning immigrants’ efforts to integrate on European terms? Christopher Caldwell, who writes for the Financial Times, The New York Times Magazine and The Weekly Standard, visits Zócalo to talk about themes from his upcoming book, Reflections on the Revolution in Europe: Immigration, Islam and the West.
