Algunos hablan como si no estuvieran sujetos a ninguna autoridad, pero como cantaba Bob Dylan en 1979, siempre "tienes que servir a alguien". She is certified in all three levels and is a formation leader recognized by the U.S. Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in Levels I and II. She is grateful to have worked on formation teams in Missouri, Kansas, North Dakota, Texas, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Ottawa, Canada. A graduate of St. Mary-of-the-Woods College near Terre Haute, Ind., she also earned a primary certificate from the American Montessori Society. Among other positions, she worked as a Montessori directress in a Catholic school in Duluth, Minn., and a parish director of traditional religious education in Kansas City, Mo., before discovering CGS. As a charter member of the SonFlower Region of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, she served on its board many years. She is co-director of CGS at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish/School in Kansas City, offering CGS in all three levels. This is the sixth iteration of her atria and hopefully the last! Prior to joining the staff, Mary served on the CGSUSA Board of Trustees for seven years. Mary has also served as a Director of Faith Formation in the Catholic Church for twenty-nine years, as well as a consultant and editor for religious education publishers.  She earned a bachelor's degree in religious studies from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and a master's degree in Pastoral Studies in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd from Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis, Missouri. Her husband, Kurt is a permanent deacon in the Diocese of Des Moines and teaches theology at the local Catholic high school, is a Level One catechist, and enjoys making materials for the atrium.  Their daughter, Clare, is the elementary faith formation coordinator at her Church, working in the Level One and Level Two atria. Looking ahead, Pastor Omar will explore the impatience of Sarah and how our desire to hasten God's promises can lead us to take matters into our own hands, often with unintended consequences. He will also address the critical issue of leadership within the home, highlighting how men, though successful in various spheres of life, can sometimes struggle with their responsibilities at home. In 2024 we are aiming to remember these truths: Delay is not Denial it is in fact the very thing that will reveal the Destiny of our lives We can muster a “Even Now” faith that stands on the truth of who God is instead of the frustration we feel at His delay. Our tears water the seed and connect us to one another, but our testimony will bring new life to all those who need to hear it! Let's lead the Lord to the place where our faith died so that He can show us the truth of who He is. We might have prayed a dangerous prayer like “God use my life” and now we have to wait through broken dreams. But God will never fail of His promise of a Hope and a Future for our lives. For the believer, a certain death is not the end; it's merely a graduation of our Faith! Application - What are some dreams that have died in your life? Can you believe that even now God can come through for you? How can you lead Him to that place of pain, so that He can restore you today? Prayer - Father, I thank you that you are God who has good plans for me. Although I thought that I was overlooked, forgotten or left to mourn the loss of my dreams, I thank you that even now, your word can go forth and bring new life in me. I believe that your timing is perfect and that has in fact been no delay. I pray that my testimony brings you all the glory and I stand on your miraculous move today!

In 3 of the gospels the story of the unnamed woman, known only by her weakness, her sickness and her embarassment refused to give into hopelessness and talked herself into an encounter. AND GET THIS, not an encounter that Christ initiated, but one that originated with her. With all that she had suffered, with all that was missing, with all that was against her, she made an appointment (on her end) with the fringe of his garment, believing that EVEN NOW, power could, would flow from him to her, filling her with his sufficiency. To the needy, the hurting, the broken and the despondent; i am believing that our Lord will meet with us tomorrow and validate his word---- with virtue flowing from him to you..... that will leave you simply and surely WHOLE!

I know what it's like to be stuck and over-drinking and not believing in myself and feeling overwhelmed and anxious and often resentful AND using alcohol for all the good times, too. So, we saw in the paper that Manilow is talking about his first new pop album in years. Which is the perfect segue for this: We've got an interview queued up from the archives, one of Paul's all time favorites. It's also the interview that has received the most emails from people who tuned in. A great newspaper journalist named Brandee A. Thomas was interviewing Paul back in 2011. Paul told her: “Probably my favorite interview of all times was with a lyricist named Marty Panzer. He wrote ‘Through the Years' for Kenny Rogers and he wrote a lot of songs for Barry Manilow.” So who is Mr. Panzer? Marty Panzer is a great lyricist who has songs known all over the world. He began writing songs with his friend Barry Manilow when they worked in the CBS-TV mailroom. They wanted a career in music so they began writing commercial jingles. From there, you could say Marty Panzer's songs have more than taken off–he wrote songs for Barry Manilow like “It's a Miracle,” “This One's for You,” “All the Time,” and “Even Now.” Not only has Marty Panzer written songs for Barry Manilow, but he wrote the Kenny Rogers classic “Through the Years.” His songs have been recorded by the likes of Dionne Warwick, Frankie Valli, Gladys Knight, Julio Iglesias, Dusty Springfield, and others. Marty Panzer has 35 gold and platinum records, four BMI million play awards, a 3 million play award, and record sales in excess of 70 million units. Impressive, isn't it?
