This episode of Double Tap is brought to you by: C&G Holsters (Code: WLSISLIFE) Midwest Industries (Code: WLSISLIFE) Blue Alpha Bowers Group (Code: WLS) Otis Technology (Code: WELIKESHOOTING15) Guests: Jon Patton – https://guncon.net – NILES, OH BIG PUBLIC SHOW DAY JUNE 20th, 2026 Industry/VIP Events JUNE 17-20, 2026 Text Dear WLS or Reviews +1 743 500 2171  Public https://welikeshooting.com/titles/ Dear WLS Question from Anonymous Coward from California WINNER People are looking at the ICE shooting all wro6vng. This is not a First Amendment issue. He wasn't peacefully protesting. There is plenty of video showing him actively blocking ICE vehicles before the shooting. That matters. This is also not a Second Amendment issue. He wasn't walking down the street, minding his business, and accidentally flashing a concealed carry gun. He was in direct physical conflict with law enforcement while armed. According to reporting, he had allegedly been “on duty” the week before, tracking ICE, and had been taken to the ground by agents, injuring his ribs. This time, when he went back “on duty,” he brought a gun. I understand why people instinctively hesitate to side with federal law enforcement. I really do. But if we're being honest, this situation demands a clear-eyed assessment—not emotional reflexes or ideological posturing. If the political alignment were reversed—if this were someone at a protest you agreed with—would you still argue the outcome was justified? In this case, my answer is still yes, the individual was at fault, regardless of ideology. As gun owners, we talk constantly about personal responsibility. That responsibility includes knowing what situations you do not escalate, especially when armed. A fight you cannot win is a fight against law enforcement officers when you are carrying a firearm. The moment you insert yourself into a physical confrontation with LEOs while armed, you are the one escalating the situation. Everyone knows this. This is not new. You are not going to win a solo fight against law enforcement. Period. Question from Jaqin Ta'Sox from Connecticut From; Jaqin Ta'Sox: Dear WLS Man. Sorry. The 646 episode got me fired up. In regards to Nick at time stamp 108 minutes. ICE doesn't need warrants to arrest illegal immigrants, because all of the people they are looking for are here illegally and 100% have another type of Law Enforcement Interaction (dwi, domestic violence, etc.) The illegals that don't have other Law Enforcement Interaction are usually collateral arrests, because ICE goes looking for 1 and find 12 together. As far as the US Citizens that interact with ICE, yes they are 99% detained and released upon verification of status. The 1% that are arrested/hurt are the people who escalate the Interaction instead of cooperating, like Jeremy said. Question from Anonymous Coward from California Question for double tap I've noticed that Jeremy is a lot calmer now that Aaron has been gone is that a coincidence or does Aaron just drive him that crazy? Question from Sean's Weight Loss Coach from Pennsylvania Question for Double Tap: With the new Ruger/Marlin 1894 in 10mm and the Taylor's 1873 Winchester clone in 9mm it got me thinking – what changes are needed to handle the rimless cartridges vs the more traditional rimmed cartridges that lever guns of this style are more commonly chambered for? Extractor change on the bolt? Chamber cut to control headspace with the cartridge mouth instead of the rim? Why has it taken this long for traditional lever guns like these to be chambered in rimless cartridges? Most sincerely, Sean's Weight Loss Coach Question from Anonymous Coward from California For double tap This question is mainly for Jeremy since he he sounds like he has the most experience with the XD line from SA. I have an XD.40 what parts should I expect to replace first and how often should I be cleaning it because I've heard mixed opinions on cleaning firearms? Question from LieutenantRand from Michigan LieutenantRand Are power lines higher in Africa? Or are there cases of giraffes being electrocuted? Question from Typicalpnwguy from Washington Dear wls crew, At the end of DT 447 Jeremy said to “go fuck yourself” so I did. Apparently its wrong for me to do so at a customer's house while doing deliveries. Now Im fired, wife left me, my dog found another hooman, and all I have is my pvs14 & mk18 cqbr blaster. Since Jeremy got me fired & divorced can I move in with you and get a job at the range? I promise to shit on Aaron every chance I get. Title: Evaluating the Reverse Slide Embedding Method vs. Heat Extractor Embedding in the Mohs Laboratory: A Comparative Quality Review of 100 Cases Authors: Tashsa Cromedy, Heather Frye, Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center, St. Tammany Cancer Center A Campus of Ochsner Medical Center Abstract:  Overview Accurate tissue embedding is critical in Mohs micrographic surgery for complete margin assessment. This study evaluates the efficacy of a reverse slide embedding method compared to the conventional heat extractor technique. The goal was to determine which method yields fewer artifacts or discrepancies that may compromise histologic interpretation and margin assessment. Methods A total of 100 Mohs cases were retrospectively reviewed in a controlled laboratory setting. Two embedding techniques were compared: Reverse Slide Method: 50 cases were embedded by placing the tissue on a chilled slide before embedding, ensuring orientation preservation and minimizing heat exposure. Heat Extractor Method: 50 cases were embedded using the traditional heat extractor to flatten and orient tissue in the embedding medium. All slides were reviewed by a Mohs surgeon for processing artifacts, orientation challenges, and histologic discrepancies. Validation The Mohs surgeon identified a total of 17 artifact inconsistencies or discrepancies across all cases: 13 instances were associated with the heat extractor method. 4 instances occurred with the reverse slide method. These findings suggest that the reverse slide method may reduce artifacts and improve embedding accuracy compared to the heat extractor, offering potential benefits for tissue integrity and diagnostic confidence in the Mohs laboratory. Conclusion The reverse slide embedding method demonstrated a significant reduction in embedding-related artifacts compared to the heat extractor technique. These findings support its use in the Mohs laboratory to enhance tissue quality, reduce the risk of diagnostic errors, and improve patient outcomes. Further studies with larger sample sizes and multi-lab validations are recommended to confirm these results.

Welcome to The Nonlinear Library, where we use Text-to-Speech software to convert the best writing from the Rationalist and EA communities into audio. This is: ELK Proposal - Make the Reporter care about the Predictor's beliefs, published by Adam Jermyn on June 11, 2022 on The AI Alignment Forum. (This proposal received an honorable mention in the ELK prize results, and we believe was classified among strategies which “reward reporters that are sensitive to what's actually happening in the world”. We do not think that the counterexample to that class of strategies works against our proposal, though, and we have explained why in a note at the end. Feedback, disagreement, and new failure modes are very welcome!) Basic idea A Human Simulator only cares about the observations that the human sees and how the human interprets those observations, not the predictor's understanding of the vault. The Truthful Reporter, by contrast, cares about the predictor's understanding of the vault, accessed via the posterior distribution returned by the predictor. We propose a regularizer which favours having the Reporter depend on the Predictor's posterior distribution conditioned on the observations shown to the human. For example, a Reporter that doesn't look at the Predictor except to simulate what the human would see would be disfavoured. How could we implement this basic idea concretely? Below we provide a specific instantiation of this regularizer. In brief, this is a new loss term which depends on: [answer_gradient] The gradient of the Reporter's distribution over answers, taken with respect to the Predictor's posterior distribution. This describes how the Predictor's posterior should change to maximally change the Reporter's answers to the Human's questions. [observation_gradient] The gradient of the distribution of predicted observations with respect to the predictor's posterior distribution. This describes how the Predictor's posterior should change to maximally change the Extractor's output. Our loss function favours models which have the answer_gradient be ‘further' from the observation_gradient. We implement this by finding the linear vector space spanned by the components of the observation_gradient, projecting the answer_gradient out of that space, and then taking the norm of what's left. More precise detail on strategy The key changes we have made to the pseudocode below are: Added regularizer described above. Added a method for computing gradients of other functions. Added a method for constructing a projection operator. Changed the observation and reporter functions to depend on the predictor's posterior rather than a sample from that posterior. ## and linear algebra def gradient(function, indep_vars, args): # Returns the gradient of the function with respect to indep_vars # args are passed to the function # Return value has shape (shape(function), len(indep_vars)) def projection(answer_gradient): # Returns the minimal linear projection Proj operator of shape # (len(posterior),len(posterior)) such that the matrix # product of Proj and answer_gradient vanishes. ## Procedure begins here def prediction(before, action, θ): # returns an autoregressive model for p(z|before, action) def posterior(before, action, after, θ): # returns an autoregressive model for p(z|before, action, after) def observation(posterior, θ): # returns an autoregressive model for p(after|posterior) def sample_data(): # returns a random (before, action, after) triple from the dataset def loss(θ): before, action, after = sample_data() z_prior = prediction(before, action, θ) z_posterior = posterior(before, action, after, θ) kl = z_prior.kl_divergence(z_posterior) logprob = observation(z_prior.sample(), θ).logp(after) return kl - logprob class Human: def pose_question(before, action, after): # returns a question # should be one a human thinks can be answered unambiguously def loss_for_answer(before, action, after, question, answer): # returns a non-negative loss ...

Happy Thursday Limitless Family! We're going to talk about something I truly think all coaches have, and that's being a Greatness Extractor. I believe this is truly a gift and something you learn as you go through life. I was having a conversation with a fellow Apex member, Zack Williams. We used to watch him wake up at 4 am and think, “This motherfucker is crazy.” Fast forward to today, I have our operation meeting Tuesday and Friday at 4 am. He brought up a story to me that really made me understand what this is. He was able to take his friend from making $17 an hour in a corporate environment to making six figures now being his top producer in his company. He saw something in him that he didn't see in himself. See, within Limitless, I truly believe we all have the ability to accomplish anything we set our minds to. If you want a six pack, you can do it. If you want to lose fifty pounds, you can do it. If you want to be a better husband or wife, you can do it. It all starts with believing in yourself and taking action in your life. That is where that coach is that greatness extractor, seeing what you don't see and showing you the way. For those of you that are coaches, breaking those limiting beliefs and truly showing people what they are capable of, I applaud you. Keep going.
