The final, at least for now, word on Star Wars Battlefront II comes from EA's CFO. Turns out they couldn't make loot boxes out of cosmetic items because they don't own Star Wars. It's a great point no one thought about. Player Unknown Battlegrounds is coming to mobile, bu just in China for now. Animal Crossing Pocket Camp has been released and has taken over our lives. Some Animal Crossing fans are complaining about it, but we think they're just wrong. Also there is going to be a Mario cereal. For real. Seems like everyone loves Super Mario Odyssey and it shows. The game has sold more 1 million units in tthe U.S. alone. That makes it the fastest selling Mario game in history. But sales aren't the only thing going for it. It's also garnering almost universal good reviews. The success of Odyssey offers a contrast to Nintendo's mobile game Super Mario Run. While that game has tons of downloads, it's not making enough money to make Nintendo happy, but the mobile Animal Crossing game could make those bad feelings go away. Sony made tons of announcement and gave updates on previously announced games at the Paris Games Week. And finally, the Xbox One X hits stores next week. For questions or comments send an email to gamingwiththemoms@gmail.com or tweet @gamingwithmoms
Electronic Arts closed their studio, Visceral Games, last week. The studio had been working on the new Star Wars game. Can you say Smash, anyone? For questions and feedback send an email to gamingwiththemoms@gmail.com or tweet @gamingwithmoms.

And the makers of Rocket League voice their frustrations with Sony and cross-platform play. Got something to say? Send an email to gamingwiththemoms@gmail.com or tweet @gamingwithmoms

In this Gaming Buzz discussion, Jacob, Jason, and special guest Dan discuss the merits of Gaming in the past and gaming in the present. They discuss many of the benefits to playing games on old computers with shareware, downloading games, and the lack of innovation with AAA gaming.
We get started off with some non-gaming news about Game of Thrones and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which is apparently singular according to the director. We don't believe him. Speaking Star Wars, Star Wars Battlefront II has been announced. Unlike the previos game, this one is going to include a single-player campaign and the star of that game mode might surprise you. It looks like Nintendo is getting ready to make a SNES Classic Edition. We talk about how that might relate to the discontinuation of the NES Classic. Blizzard surprised everybody by making StarCraft completely free months before it was supposed to be. And GTA 5 is being used to help train driverless cars.
In this Gaming Buzz discussion Jacob, Jason and Christian discuss the rise of speed running video games. They cover the many merits of Awesome Games Done Quick, the many games that are speed run, and the competitive spirit that drives speed runners.
The Switch is facing some problems. Turns out if yours breaks, you're likely to lose any save data for games. Lesson: try not to break your Switch. Final Fantasy XV's DLC is getting interesting by taking some of the key characters in a different direction. In other news that is not really news. Destiny 2 has been announced. Blizzard is also launching a high-end collectible store. Tetris can help with PTSD and finally there's going to be a My Little Pony tabletop role-playing game. No, seriously.
Nintendo has finally come forward to say the issues with desyncing Joycons for the Switch is actually a manufacturing flaw and not something ridiculous like having an aquarium in your house. Even still, the fix itself is pretty ridiculous. No big game can be released without some sort of controversy and Mass Effect Andromeda is no different. The facial animations don't look so great, so the Internet has exploded in one of the worst ways possible. There's a new Pokemon GO event that will give you a chance to catch water type pokemon even if you don't live anywhere near a body of water. Some new Xbox One controllers are on the way. Overwatch has added a new hero to the game, and you can get involved in the Hearthstone Winter Championship.
Stephen went to PAX East and he talks about the coolest games he saw at the show. Mass Effect Andromeda doesn't come out until March 21, but if you have EA Access you can play it right now. And speaking of Mass Effect some cool Mass Effect gear is coming to Rock Band 4. The Legend of Zelda Symphony has announced dates and locations. Drawn to Death, the brand new game created by David Jaffe will be free to PlayStation Plus members right out of the gate. A bunch of old Disney games are being ported to Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Lots of Zelda fans have thrown a fit over one review by a games journalist. We talk about why that is pretty stupid. Then Stephen goes on about how good Zelda is and Nicole goes on about how good Horizon Zero Dawn is.
We've all been waiting for it, but the time has finally arrived. The Nintendo Switch has been released. But there's more news besides the console itself. Amazon dropped the ball on delivering the consoles big time. Nintendo is touting sales of the Switch being larger than sales of Wii. And then there are the games. We talk about Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and 1,2 Switch. In other non-Switch related news. Sony has thrown their sponsorship to Girls Make Games. Finally we take detour around video games to talk about another Game... Game of Thrones that is. The hype machine for the next season has just launched into gear and we'll give you thoughts and predictions.
It's the week of the launch of the Nintendo Switch. Need we say more? Turns out we do have a lot to say. Besides all of the new relating to the Switch, we also give another first party a little love. The Game Developers' Confrerence happened this week and Microsoft made a couple announcements . One is that pretty much anybody is going to be able to make a game for the Xbox One, the other is about a new service that will give you access to a ton of games for monthly fee. Finally, the latest expansion for Hearthstone has been announced. Journy to Un'Goro will not only feature new cards, but a few new gameplay elements as well. The best thing, though? Reno Jackson will be leaving Standard.
In case you hadn't heard, PewDiePie has done something kinda stupid, but it probably won't affect his bottom line. Some big changes are coming to Hearthstone, none of which involve the removal of Reno Jackson. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is going to have a season pass. Who knew? But the way they've outlined the content may have been a mistake. There's a massive Humble Bundle on sale, Amazon is opening a new game studio, and the Microsoft E3 media briefing will now be held at a time when anyone can watch. Also Nicole and Regina geek out about Game of Thrones while Stephen listens in despair.
It's a blast from the past! In this Gaming Buzz Podcast Jacob, Darien and Christian celebrate Gaming Buzz's 50th podcast episode by reacting to the very first Gaming Buzz Podcast episode ever. Spoilers....It's bad! They also discuss the origins of Gaming Buzz and Gaming Buzz's future!

Square Enix is getting ready to announce something new,and Avalanche Studios has risen from the ashes to work on a Cars 3 game. This episode is in memoriam of Roger Hanna Morash, a brilliant game developer who passed away unexpectedly earlier this week. The gaming industry has lost a great talent. He will be missed.
Nintendo's official unveiling of all things related to the Nintendo Switch happened last week and we all have some thoughts and feelings. We talk about the hardware, the games and everything else. Nintendo also gave us some details on upcoming Fire Emblem games. We've been waiting for details on mobile version and now we have them. Unfortunately they don't make all of us very happy. You can ask us questions and get a shout-out on the show. Send your thoughts to gamingwiththemoms@gmail.com. You can also follow us on Twitter @gamingwithmoms.
The biggest event this week: Tracer from Overwatch is gay, which may or may not be news to you. Either way the Internet is freaking out. Super Mario Run is out and it's... a Mario game. Steam is also having their first ever game awards with some pretty hilarious category names and some interesting nominees. Atlus is working on a new fantasy RPG, which makes Stephen very happy.

The PlayStation Experience is this weekend and Hideo Kojima will be talking about his upcoming game, Death Stranding. Is it a good idea for him to be talking about this game so early? Besides that, attendees of the show will be able to play 100 games. We'll tell you what they are. No Man's Sky, the most hated game of the year, got a big update that actually adds in a lot of what we all wanted in the first place. Plus an investigation into false advertising for the game has been closed. The developers didn't do anything wrong. Now you can play games within Facebook Messenger, and there's speculation that a new Marvel vs. Capcom game may be on the way. Oh, and Stephen's been playing Final Fantasay XV. We'll give you scoop.
The end of year is fast approaching. That means lots of holiday shopping and lots of awards. We talk about both. One of the holiday's hot items, the NES Classic Edition sold out within hours, but we've got some tips for how to score one. Super Mario Run has a release date and we expect it to sell like mad too. Like escape rooms? Nintendo apparently does too. There's going to be an "escape event" based on the Legend of Zelda. We've got all the details. Don't worry. Will it be able to steal some audience from Hearthstone? And speaking of Hearthstone, Blizzard has announced a new Heroic Tavern Brawl. We'll give you the details. Voice actors are getting ready to strike because they can't reach an acceptable deal with game publisher. Plus the head of World of Warcraft is working on another project. What could it be? There's something about Smite that's hilarious, and finally there's going to be a tv show based on Candy Crush. We'll tell you what's up with that?
We're all out of bubble gum! Jacob and Darien interview famed voice actor Jon St. John in this episode of Gaming Buzz! Jon is well know for providing the voice of Duke Nukem, Big The Cat from Sonic Adventure, and has provided voice work for many other games. Please note this episode contains strong language and sexual themes.
Pokemon GO was released last week and boy is it popular. We talk about how the game's massive appeal is effecting multiple areas of life, from business opportunities to helping people with anxiety brave the world. On the other hand, lots of the negative news around the game is completely blown out of proportion. We give some of those stories a reality check. The game could also mean a new wave of AR gaming. Linda and Nicole speculate about how Game of Thrones would lend itself beautifully to an AR game. And there's a new character coming to Overwatch.
