Op woensdagavond werden er namelijk maar liefst vijf nieuwe projecten binnen de beruchte franchise aangekondigd. En daar moeten we het natuurlijk even goed over hebben. Een epische franchise voor velen die eindelijk vers leven wordt ingeblazen. Om welke projecten het precies gaat, dat gaan we je vertellen in het GK Journaal van donderdag 20 oktober 2022. Een vrij griezelige editie met andere woorden... Silent Hill 2 is 12 maanden PS5 exclusive Na maanden van speculaas en geruchten heeft Konami dan eindelijk officieel de Silent Hill 2-remake bevestigd. Ze deden dat tijdens een online presentatie op woensdagavond. De game lijkt, afgaande op de beelden die we zagen, van de grond af opnieuw opgebouwd, terwijl de essentie van het origineel uit 2001 intact blijft. De oplettende kijker had natuurlijk al gemerkt dat JJ in deze video de vergissing maakt om 1999 als releasedatum van deel 2 aan te halen. Dat betrof natuurlijk het eerste deel. Court documents from the Epic v. Apple court case have revealed that Microsoft at one point considered lowering its 30 percent cut on the Xbox storefront to 12 percent, shaking up a longstanding precedent in the gaming industry of platform holders taking a 30 percent cut from all revenue. The document also suggests that the recent change to a 12 percent cut on Microsoft's PC storefront also considered including exclusive streaming rights for games included in the deal, giving Microsoft an upper hand in the cloud streaming space. «Halo Wars 2» ist ein «Play Anywhere»-Titel von Microsoft. Sprich: Beim einmaligen Onlinekauf im Windows- oder Xbox-Store erhält man die PC- und Xbox-One-Version. Gegeneinander spielen werdet die PC- und Konsolennutzer jedoch nicht, zu differs ist die Steuerung via Keyboard und Maus (PC) und Controller. Beide Steuerungsarten funktionieren jedoch tadellos, Profis werden mit Keyboard und Maus dennoch glücklicher. In der optional auch CoOp spielbaren Kampagne kämpft Ihr Euch mit den Truppen durch 12 Missionen, die Spieldauer ist dabei bei 8-10 Stunden angesiedelt. Die Kampagne ist - insbesonders auch dank den starken Zwischensequenzen und gut erzählter Story - ein absolutes Plus. Auch bieten die Entwickler guten Wiederspielwert. Alle Missionen können erneut gezockt werden, damit auch alle Sidemissionen abgeschlossen werden können. Die Spielgrafik ist für ein Spiel dieser Machart toll, starke Animationen der Figuren und Vehikel, sauberes Scrolling, gute Kameraperspektiven (noch ein wenig weiter weg Option hätte ich mir noch gewünscht). Die Sprachausgabe ist ebenfalls auf hohem Niveau, sei es in Deutsch oder Englisch. Kenner des Vorgängers fühlen sich heimisch, freuen sich aber zudem auf viele spielerische und Steuerungstechnische Verbesserungen. Gruppierung von Einheiten ist etwa neu möglich. Die Einheiten sind auch levelbar. Für Einsteiger bieten die Tutorials und ersten Kampagnen-Missionen einen guten Überblick, insgesamt ist die Lernkurve steiler als in anderen Genre ähnlichen Spielen. Das Kampfsystem funktioniert nach Schere-Stein-Papier-Prinzip: Infanterie ist guten gegen Flugabwehr, Flieger gut gegen Fahrzeuge, Fahrzeuge gut gegen Infanterie. Das Kernstück bleibt der Mehrspielermodus, der vieles bietet. Einige Decks haben Extras und Ihr könnt so etwas Blutsväter-Technologien einsetzen, erhaltet Schiffsunterstützung, usw. Der zweite Teil der «Halo Wars»-Serie macht sehr viel richtig. Der Einstieg in das Genre ist auch Anfängern möglich, jedoch bietet das Spielsystem auch viel Tiefgang für Veteranen.
