This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit www.serioustrouble.showWhat a reversal of fortune for Andrew and Tristan Tate! One minute you're the toast of (certain quarters of) MAGA; the next minute federal agents are arresting you, intending to extradite you to face rape charges in the UK. This week, we talk about how extradition works, and while Trump could intervene at any time to stop the extradition, his spokeswoman says he won't.Also this week: Federal officials failed to preserve key evidence in the case of the alleged reflecting pool vandal — that is, the government threw away the liner. The Trump DOJ is once again fighting with local district judges over who should serve as interim US Attorney, and what's new this time is that the fired interim appointee is suing to get his job back.Paying subscribers also get:* A fairly silly defamation lawsuit from Madison Square Garden against Wired, and discovery trouble for President Trump in his “$10 billion” lawsuit against the BBC.* Trump's flailing effort to get the courts to order E. Jean Carroll to give him his $5.6 million back, and what he'd have to do in order to actually draw Rule 11 sanctions with this nonsense.* A new court we'd never heard of, because it had never been used before this month: the Alien Terrorist Removal Court.* A lawsuit that says Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins is proselytizing to her employees in violation of the First Amendment — and, yes, the Administrative Procedure Act.* And a really weird AI misuse case from Brazilian labor courts.Upgrade your subscription at www.serioustrouble.show.

Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested in Miami on July 18th by U.S. Marshals. 59 total charges in the United Kingdom. 7 alleged victims. Allegations spanning from 2010 to 2017. And a political subplot involving Romania, the Trump White House, and now the State Department. The mechanics of how this case unfolded — and why the Tates finally ran out of runway — tells you a great deal about how power operates, who it protects, and when it stops protecting them.SPONSOR: American FinancingWith everyday prices staying high, carrying credit card debt at 25% interest or more can quietly drain your finances. David Rothkopf joins Joanna Coles to discuss Donald Trump's awkward World Cup appearance. A moment complete with loud boos and a bewildered walk across the championship stage, sparks a broader conversation about a president increasingly disconnected from reality at home and abroad. They examine Trump's rambling public appearances, the mounting toll of his foreign policy decisions, and why his critics argue his presidency is becoming defined by ego, chaos, and an alarming lack of empathy. David and Joanna delve into the growing influence of the “Manosphere” inside MAGA, the arrest of Andrew and Tristan Tate, the administration's controversial priorities, and what they reveal about the culture surrounding Trump. From E. Jean Carroll collecting her judgment to fears over election integrity, international legal exposure, and the expanding web of political corruption, they connect the week's biggest stories into a sobering portrait of an administration consumed by loyalty, image, and self-preservation—and explain why the consequences of today's headlines may be felt long after Trump's presidency comes to an end. ABC7 reports that newly hired Sausalito City Manager Elaine Forbes was arrested on suspicion of burglary after authorities say she was found aboard yachts she did not own and appeared to be trying to operate one of them. The arrest came less than three weeks into her tenure and only days after the City Council approved a leave of absence. Her family says she is undergoing a mental health crisis, while authorities continue investigating the incident. ApCal Rock’N Ranch's planned free anniversary concert was changed into a fundraiser after the venue was informed that its alcohol license would not allow a free concert in its original form. To comply with the rules, owner Darren Schmall turned the event into a benefit for Central Valley Honor Flight, allowing the concert to proceed while supporting a local veterans charity. Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested in Miami and are fighting extradition to the United Kingdom, where they face serious allegations related to rape, sex trafficking, assault, and other offenses. The brothers deny all allegations, and U.S. courts will now decide whether they will be sent to Britain to stand trial. Today's Headlines: Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested in Miami by US Marshals at the UK's request, facing 59 total charges including rape, sex trafficking, assault, and charges related to indecent images of a child — their attorney says they're innocent, they'll fight extradition. On the corruption beat, Trump is now selling hedge funds early access to his Truth Social posts for $100,000 a month through a service called Truth API, which is institutionalized insider trading dressed up as a subscription service — and he owns 41% of the company selling it, so that's clean. Meanwhile, Trump's primetime election fraud document dump turned out to contain zero evidence of Chinese meddling or a deep state coverup, but did confirm that Russia was pushing the exact same Biden corruption narratives Trump was pushing in 2020 — which is not the smoking gun he was looking for. In other news, The State Department hosted a global left-wing terrorism summit led by Marco Rubio and Stephen Miller, with 60+ countries invited on short notice to discuss a threat that far-right extremists — responsible for over 75% of domestic terrorism deaths since 2001 — were not mentioned at, not even once. In war news, four US service members were killed after Iran struck Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan with ballistic missiles and drones, bringing the total American death toll to 17 since the war started, and Trump's response was to order the military to "open the gates of hell" on Iran. After the mystery explosive diarrhea culprit was discovered, Taylor Farms recalled all of its central Mexico iceberg lettuce across 27 states, with Walmart, Sysco, and Taco Bell pulling products, and the same lettuce supplies Chipotle, McDonald's, Costco, and Trader Joe's, so America's salad situation is complicated. And finally, Spain won the World Cup defeating Argentina 1-0 in overtime, Trump attended, got booed multiple times, and photobombed Spain's trophy photos by overstaying his welcome on stage. . “Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have been arrested in the United States in connection with a UK police investigation into a number of alleged sexual offences, Bedfordshire Police said. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said it was bringing further charges against the brothers – who were arrested by US Marshals in Miami on Saturday – in relation to allegations from four additional victims.”“The CPS has decided to prosecute Andrew Tate, 39, with seven further counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and 19 additional charges for offences relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.”The US is supposed to have due process of law, also the right to know one's accusers. The UK has neither. US should not be extraditing Americans to the UK. They are not fugitives. Some of these accusations go back as far as 2013-2015 and were already rejected by CPS at that time for lack of evidence. They had plenty of time before the 2022 accusations in Romania, which are facing a counter suit due for trial in December, to process these UK charges and have a trial. They decided it wasn't important until the Tates were politically famous and opposed to entrenched UK beliefs of open borders and men in the girls room. They cannot pretend to care about human trafficking while allied with Ukraine and supporting a war that displaced millions. Even IF they were guilty, this is politically motivated. They are singled out because they are a treat to the system. Even their enemies admit that. This is selective enforcement of the law because of muh misogyny. The brothers will have formal extradition proceedings, but it's Miami so not really. UK is famous not only of ignoring trafficking and rape but it's own politics and politicians have been involved in it. I have been over this before. Even in the infamous Rotherdam gang rape case there were police involved in raping the victims. “One says she was raped from the age of 12 by a serving South Yorkshire Police (SYP) officer in a marked police car. He would threaten to hand her back to the gang if she did not comply, she says.”This is the state of the UK. Let me be crystal clear, IF Andrew and Tristan are guilty of rape or human trafficking then f**k them both. But it is a court of law with evidence and a chance for defense that determines that. In this case, people are polarized and believe guilt or innocence based on nothing other than whether or not they like their personalities. Tristan and Andrew's lawyer Joe McBride wrote “The timing is no accident. For years, I have been litigating a defamation lawsuit in Palm Beach, Florida, that has absolutely destroyed the baseless allegations against the Tate brothers, piece by piece, under oath, on the record. That case goes to trial within six months. The UK knows it. They watched their lies get demolished in an American courtroom, and they panicked. This extradition demand has one purpose: to kidnap Andrew and Tristan through paperwork before an American jury exposes the truth to the entire world.”I know this is true because I am in that case thanks to Myron Gains dumping private messages on X with no context. And I've had to sit here with my mouth shut as to what it actually pertains to because it is in the lawsuit. Will that trial for Jane Doe even happen? It was supposed to be this December. I find McBride's suspicions correct that this was done now with brand new accusations to drown them in paperwork and delay exoneration. The American girl in question who set off the arrests in Romania, is a serial liar and admittedly so, who has falsely accused other men in the past and lied to boyfriends with kidnap and rape stories that never actually happened. That needs to come out in court but the trial has been delayed for years. As for these other women, I do not know. But I know one claimed to have been choked unconscious then punched in the face twice and then she woke up. Anyone with logic can figure out what's wrong with that statement. Another said she was taken to a field, you know in Luton, and was forced at gunpoint to list Top 10 things good about Tate. And of course she continued to text with him and visit him after that. The whole thing is just so laughably stupid. But they cant get a trial. And in the UK it is guilty until proven innocent. There is NO WAY they will get a fair trial there. The UK will arrest you for saying things they don't like online. Think about this precedent. American's are supposed to have free Speech but if the US government is going to cooperate with the UK government one arresting people who break their laws then no influencer or even small podcaster is safe. Some Limey Tom with bad teeth could have you scooped up and thrown in the clink, white-rise mate. This is a public episode.
