In a moment of distraction, Sarah unknowingly dropped her diamond engagement ring into a homeless man’s cup. Billy Ray, the panhandler who was given the ring, had it appraised and considered selling it. But he chose honesty and returned it to Sarah when she came back a few days later. Sarah and her husband set up a fund so donations could be made to help Billy Ray, which led to an outpouring of generosity from others. Billy Ray received financial and legal counsel and was eventually able to buy a home. He was also reunited with his long-lost family. When we practice integrity, we please God and inspire others. Solomon says God delighted in his integrity: "The Lord detests lying lips, but He delights in people who are trustworthy” (Proverbs 12:22). He uses strong language to describe God’s view of dishonesty—He detests it. When God’s people lie or “deceit is in [their] hearts” (v. 20), it defies Him and goes against His character. In contrast, when His people have “truthful lips” (v. 19) and deal faithfully, it brings Him joy. So treating others well is more than just telling the truth—it reflects God’s own character. And in a world where deception can seem profitable, our integrity is something He “delights in” (v. 22). Let’s commit to act with integrity as God helps us. Even if the world doesn’t notice, He’s delighted when we walk in His ways.

He's lured back to work, however, when given the chance to go undercover in small-town Vermont to shut down a ring of gun smugglers. Jack rolls into town, finds work and romance at the local bar, and starts busting heads -- but gun runners Lloyd (George "Buck" Flower) and Rolland (Noah Blake) aren't going down without a fight. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0212458/   Want More or Less? Welcome back to When Words Fail, Music Speaks, the podcast where host James Cox blends personal storytelling with the transformative power of music. In today's episode we sit down with Billy Ray Rock – a self‑proclaimed “King of Funk Rock,” a ghost producer, and an independent artist who's carving out a bold new sound at the crossroads of funk, rock, techno, and a splash of '90s nostalgia.Billy shares the journey that took him from a small town on the Washington‑Idaho border to sold‑out shows, a cameo on Yellowstone, and a fresh anthem, “Four Fingers Get Up.” We'll hear how his upbringing on limited radio stations forced him to absorb everything from Elton John to Rick James, shaping his relentless commitment to keep funk alive while injecting it with rock‑grade grit and modern flair.Expect candid conversation about:The mindset behind blending genres and why “imperfect” moments can become musical gold. What it means to be a ghost producer—crafting hits from the shadows while staying true to the art.How Billy's live shows strive for raw, inclusive energy over studio perfection, and why the bass guitar is his lifeline.Upcoming tour dates (May 13 at the Roadhouse Saloon in Idaho Falls) and a sneak peek at his latest releases on Apple Music, Spotify, and beyond. If you ever felt stuck in a bout of depression, or simply love a track that makes you want to get up and move, this conversation is for you. Good Morning Angels, Happy Monday. A brand new week is upon us, and the celebrity world has absolutely not been resting. I'm Age London and I've been up since that crackad on collecting every single drop a tea for you. You're welcome, babes. Today. Meghana Stallion has put Clay Thompson on full blast and everybody on her side. Book Talk has officially been given its own bestseller chart, and I have thoughts all good ones. Helena Bonham Carter has exited White Lotus before filming even properly got started. And there's a new film coming out next month that I didn't know existed until today, and now it's all I can think about. So let's spore some tea. First Up Rapper and Broadway Start. Meghan Stallion is dumped NBA player Clay Thompson after less than a year of dating, and she did not go quietly. She posted to her Instagram stories cheating. You had me around your whole family playing house, got cold feet, holding you down through all your horrible moods, wings and treatment towards me during your basketball season. Now you don't know if you can be monogamous, followed by like five question marks. Then came the formal statement. She said, I've made the decision to end my relationship with Clay. Trust, fidelity and respect a non negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there's no real path forward. I personally preferred the Instagram run, but I respect her being classy about it. Now, let's put this in context. Two months ago, Meghan was publicly manifesting her own engagement. She'd met his whole family. The man named his boat after her, the ss Stallion that apparently could manage to be faithful Clay buddy, the ss Stallion deserved better, inserted Meghan next time. This one is for the readers, but not like literary fiction readers, the real ones like me, who spend more time than they care to imagine reading about other people. Bonking book Talk has officially been given its own UK bestseller chart. The new list is compiled by a media controller Nielsen IQ Book Data, the same people behind the Sunday Times bestseller list, so you know it's legit. It combines UK sales data with analyzes of the BookTok hashtag with over seventy seven million posts under the tag book It's about time they put some respect on Booktok's name. The inorderal Top twenty is entirely made up of female authors, as it should be. Irish writer Chloe Walsh appears the most. All six books in her Boys of Tom and series have made the list, which follows a group of teenagers navigating love, friendship and trauma at a private school. Romandes. He dominates, with Sarah g Mass and Rebecca Garris, both featuring heavily on top of the list. Heated rivalry of course, stick Around. We've got the Nick Jonas film that I did know existed and are now having an existential crisis over Helena Bottom. Carter has exited the White Lotus and the Sires family at a stagecoach moment that signals a full reconciliation. Welcome back to Morning Tea. Now over the weekend and you trailer dropped for a movie I didn't know all about until now, and I can't believe it. I'm beside myself with anticipation for May twenty nine. The film is called Power Ballad and it stars Paul Rudd and Nick freaking Jonas so Rad plays a wedding spinger past his prime. Nick plays a washed up boy band member. They have a late night jam by coincidence, and Paul Wright's character plays him a song he's been working on. Fast Forward. The pop star releases the song, reigniting his career. But this is when it gets complicated. You don't recognize it, should I of course yes you should. If that's my chorus and verse. I wrote at that time, when Wow, Danny Wilson, you were great up there, come with me. I could tell with any two minutes of any you you are ninely some boy band guy, and you are too good for that wedding band to him with this one for years. So every Signverrold in my life, it's about you. Sockered. The film is directed by the same guy who made Once, which if you haven't seen, please stop what you're doing and watch immediately, and he's already receiving rave reviews. Paul Right and Nick Jonas in a music film about songwriting, friendship and betrayal, put it in my veins. Helena Bottom Carter announced it as part of the White Load of season forecast back in January. Has exited the show and the timing is extraordinary. HBO released his statement seeing the character did not align once on set, and that the role has subsequently been rethought, is being rewritten, and will be being recast in coming weeks. So what we understand is that she got to Saint Trepe, unpacked her bags, got a couple of days into filming, and then it became clear to both parties it wasn't working. Reports suggests the role was central to the season story, which is why the decision was made to rewrite it entirely. I want to know if she got paid for a couple of days or she just got a free holiday at Center Pay, which I said wouldn't be bad about. The season is set during the Cannes Film Festival on the French Riviera, filming in Center Pey, Monaco and Paris. And finally, Noah Cyrus made her stagecoach debut on Friday over in the States and saved the best of last. After a studying set, she brought out her brother Brazen and then her dad, Billy Ray to perform their new song on Our Way Along a song tonight. Thank you so much for coming to see my first ever stage church. I'd like to talk about my brother Brazen and welcome my dad. Billy Ray's single written I produced by my brother Brazen, Hold on our way Along. You're right now. If you don't know anything about the Syrus family, there was some estrangement after Tish and Billy raised Aborce Scott Murkhy. Since then, Miley and Billy Ray have made up and now it's lovely to see they all seem to be on better terms, proof that once again, all faunilies are complicated, even when you're all famous. And now, my darlings, is it for today's morning tea. But thank you for spending a couple of minutes of your public holiday Monday with me. Hope you have a wonderful day with friends and family. Take care of yourself and in the meantime you can follow us on TikTok and Instagram to keep up to date with all the latest news and entertainment. Gusk. Can a novel with a singular voice also be a chorus? Can it reject the conventions of the novel and still be a novel? Poet, essayist, and novelist Billy-Ray Belcourt tells critic Matt Hooley how his desire to write a novel that “would sound like something else,” led him to produce A Minor Chorus, his experimental debut novel. Together they consider how Billy-Ray's vulnerable, first-person narrator makes room for other voices, or more precisely, how it becomes “a voice that could focalize the desires of a community.” Billy-Ray discusses how his influences— queer theory, indigenous novelists, and contemporary autofiction—harmonize in his search for a new form. While author and critic trace the circuits of grief and melancholy that run from Roland Barthes to Billy-Ray, their conversation is joyful, reminding listeners that romance and intimacy sustain us and that beautiful sentences matter. What does it take to write a story that faces darkness without surrendering to it? In this episode, Tricia speaks with acclaimed screenwriter Billy Ray about his move into YA fiction with Burn the Water, a future-set story shaped by Shakespeare, political urgency, and a deep belief in young people's capacity to lead us forward. Their conversation explores community, imagination, hope, and the discipline of creating when the world feels bleak. Billy also offers a sharp look at his writing process, including what changed when he moved from screenwriting to novel writing, and why he sees writing less as inspiration and more as problem-solving. In this conversation, you'll hear: Why Billy Ray believes community is at the core of everything he writes How Romeo and Juliet and The Hunger Games helped shape Burn the Water Why setting a story 400 years in the future opened up new creative possibilities What it means to write for teens living through uncertainty and disenfranchisement Why hope is not passive, but something we practice How writing can help us process emotion, perspective, and possibility What surprised Billy most about shifting from screenwriting to novel writing Why he approaches writing like a mechanic, not a mystic How structure, routine, and problem-solving power his creative process Memorable ideas from the episode: Billy Ray reflects on the role of story in helping us imagine better futures, even when the present feels unstable. He talks about art as a way to tell the truth through invention, and about the importance of refusing hopelessness. He also shares a compelling view of young people, not as passive inheritors of crisis, but as the very people who may lead us through it. Episode takeaway This is a conversation about craft, courage, and the necessity of hope. For writers, readers, and anyone thinking seriously about the futures we are building, this episode offers both creative insight and moral clarity. This week on Born to Watch, Whitey, Gow and Damo head back to 1983 for a full Trading Places 1983 Review, revisiting one of the most iconic comedy films of the 1980s. Directed by John Landis and starring Eddie Murphy, Dan Aykroyd and Jamie Lee Curtis, Trading Places is a movie that perfectly captures the raw, outrageous humour of the decade. But more than 40 years later, the big question for the Born to Watch crew is simple: Does this comedy classic still hold up?Set in the world of high-stakes Philadelphia commodities trading, Trading Places follows privileged stockbroker Louis Winthorpe III (Dan Aykroyd) and street hustler Billy Ray Valentine (Eddie Murphy). When two absurdly wealthy brothers, Randolph and Mortimer Duke, decide to test a social experiment for a one-dollar bet, the lives of both men are turned upside down.Winthorpe loses everything.Billy Ray gains everything. And the Dukes sit back and watch the chaos unfold. For Whitey, this rewatch brings back the wild spirit of 80s comedies, a time when films were raw, unfiltered and packed with unforgettable moments. From the opening scenes inside the Duke & Duke trading empire to the infamous orange juice futures finale, the movie moves at a relentless pace.Gow dives into the film's history, breaking down how Eddie Murphy was just beginning his meteoric rise after Saturday Night Live. His performance as Billy Ray Valentine demonstrates the charisma and comedic timing that would soon make him one of the decade's biggest movie stars.Meanwhile, Damo delivers what the listeners came for, the legendary Snorbs Report, analysing one of the most famous scenes in the film and debating whether Jamie Lee Curtis might have the most unexpected reveal in 80s cinema history. But Trading Places is more than just a comedy. At its core, the film is a clever satire about class, wealth and power. The Duke brothers treat human lives like chess pieces, manipulating events purely to prove a point about social status. What makes the story work so well is how Murphy and Aykroyd eventually turn the tables. And when the revenge finally arrives, it is glorious.Throughout the episode, the Born to Watch crew break down some of the most memorable moments in the movie, including:• Eddie Murphy announces himself as a superstar• Dan Aykroyd's legendary drunken Santa meltdown• The outrageous Duke brothers• Jamie Lee Curtis' scene-stealing performance• The chaotic train disguise sequence• The brilliant orange juice trading finaleThe boys also tackle their regular segments, including Overs and Unders, Hit Sleeper Dud for 1983, the Rank Bank, and, of course, Damo's Snorbs Report.Along the way, they debate Eddie Murphy's place among the greatest comedy stars of all time and ask whether Hollywood would even dare make a movie like Trading Places today.Because let's be honest.Movies like this simply do not get made anymore.Fearless, ridiculous and packed with classic one-liners, Trading Places remains one of the defining comedy films of the 80s.But does it still deserve its legendary reputation?Whitey, Gow and Damo are here to find out.JOIN THE CONVERSATIONIs Trading Places Eddie Murphy's true breakout movie? Is the orange juice trading finale the greatest comedy ending ever? And is Winthorpe's Santa suit the most disgusting costume in movie history?Drop us a voicemail at https://www.borntowatch.com.auListen now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your pods.#TradingPlaces #BornToWatch #EddieMurphy #DanAykroyd #JamieLeeCurtis #80sMovies #ComedyClassic #MoviePodcast #FilmReview #80sComedy

Billy Ray is best-known for his work  as the Oscar-nominated and critically acclaimed screenwriter behind Captain Phillips, The Hunger Games, and the highly anticipated adaptation of Sunrise on the Reaping. In this first installment of an epic dystopian duology, Ray delivers a searing reimagining of Romeo and Juliet, set in a drowned London ravaged by climate change and centuries of war. BURN THE WATER marks his first transition to novel-writing. The year is 2425, and London is unrecognizable—a sea of decaying skyscrapers, submerged streets, and shattered remnants of a once-great city. Two armies—the Rogues and the Crowns—have waged war for generations, locked in a brutal battle over a world long lost to the sea. Rafe, the ruthless and magnetic leader of the Rogue army, and Jule, the fiercest warrior the Crown army has ever known, are sworn enemies by birth. Both destined to lead their factions to victory after centuries of bloodshed—until they fall for each other. Their love is forbidden, dangerous, and utterly consuming. As Rafe and Jule risk everything to protect one another amid the violence, a new and even greater threat emerges from the water, one that could destroy both armies, and what's left of their world. To survive, they must challenge everything they've been taught and convince their people that love is stronger than hate in a world where peace has always been impossible. Gritty, emotional, and sweeping, BURN THE WATER is a haunting exploration of generational conflict, sacrifice, and the belief that love is bigger than all of us.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Oscar-nominated screenwriter Billy Ray talks about AI creeping further into Hollywood. Spoiler alert, he is not a fan of cinematic artificial intelligence. He refers to Tilly Norwood as an “it” and not as an actress. Billy Ray believes AI hurts Hollywood and takes away middleclass jobs from behind-the-scenes movie workers, like gaffers, workaday actors and camera operators, arguing that LA is a blue-collar town. Will AI become a powerful creative ally or is it a threat to their craft and livelihoods? Ray argues for strong protections, insisting that “the public has a right to know when they're watching something written by a human being.” The Dodgers have taken a 1:0 lead at Dodgers Stadium! Hurricane Humberto is drawing near Bermuda, thus sparing the U.S. East Coast. A nursing student at a carwash in Reseda was mugged for $4,000 while vacuuming her car, but she has a GoFundMe.
