Fue una decisión avalada unánimemente por el Pleno de la Cámara a propuesta de InterSOS, la Asociación creada por los padres de Cristina Bergüa, desaparecida el 9 de marzo de 1997 en Cornellá de Llobregat (Barcelona). Fue el primer reconocimiento institucional y supuso un impulso importante para el emergente movimiento asociativo de las familias de personas desaparecidas. Desde entonces, el trabajo de entidades como la Fundación Quién Sabe Dónde Global ha conseguido logros muy notables como: la publicación de informes estadísticos anuales, la creación del Centro Nacional de Desaparecidos, la actualización de los Protocolos de búsqueda para las Fuerzas y Cuerpos de Seguridad del Estado o la adopción gubernamental del I Plan Estratégico 2022-2024en materia de desapariciones, pendiente de renovación este mismo año. La atención psicológica y el amparo jurídico a los familiares resultan cuestiones clave que recientemente hemos podido volver a comprobar tras los efectos de la trágica DANA que arrasó Levante. Entrevistamos al célebre periodista y presentador Paco Lobatón, que también es vicepresidente de la Fundación QSD Global. Our guests: Sue Capozzi: Sue has devotedly served as a caregiver for her husband, John, who, despite his current stability, was diagnosed with Stage III melanoma in 2019, which progressed to Stage IV the following year. Throughout his challenging treatment journey, John has faced numerous hurdles but is currently doing well. Now retired, Sue and John reside in Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, a stone's throw away from the beach. They cherish their time sailing, kayaking, and enjoying moments with their dog, always mindful to apply copious amounts of sunscreen. The couple enjoys the company of their married son, a granddaughter, and eagerly await the arrival of another grandchild in the spring of 2024. Driven by the importance of melanoma education, Sue became a Peer Connect mentor in 2022. In this short span, she has provided guidance to several caregivers, finding deep fulfillment in offering support. Sue hopes to extend the same level of support and understanding she has received, contributing positively to the lives of others on their melanoma journeys. Nancy Earle: Nancy devoted herself as a caregiver to her son, Will, following his Stage III melanoma diagnosis in 2016, which escalated to Stage IV within the same year. She took a two-year hiatus from her career to support him daily through his illness and treatment. Together, they navigated the complex landscape of medical opinions, trials, and treatment centers. On March 4, 2018, Nancy and her family bid a heartfelt farewell to Will. Before retiring, Nancy had a dynamic career as a lawyer and event producer. Now, she relishes her retirement in Bellport Village, New York, alongside her husband. They take joy in their three surviving sons, their partners, and their grandchildren. Driven by a desire to honor Will's altruistic spirit, Nancy engages with several organizations. She serves on the advisory board of INTERSOS, a Rome-based international NGO, working to raise awareness of its humanitarian programs. Locally, she contributes to the environmental committee and has begun writing a book chronicling Will's courageous battle over his final two years. In 2021, Nancy became a Peer Connect mentor, driven by the critical need for melanoma awareness. She supports caregivers, some fortunate to have loved ones in remission and others mourning their loss. Dall'Iran all'Afghanistan la lotta per i diritti dei cittadini parte dalle rivendicazioni delle donne. Se a Teheran le proteste sono ormai continue e le ragazze sfilano in piazza togliendosi in velo, a Kabul la protesta è più soffocata, ma le donne sono altrettanto determinate a farsi valere. In Iran - spiega la ricercatrice Giulia Valsecchi - le proteste di oggi non nascono dal nulla, ma si ricollegano alle manifestazioni del passato. In Afghanistan oggi le donne vivono ai margini, chiuse in casa, senza poter lavorare e studiare, come racconta da Kabul Sergio Mainetti di Intersos. Chi può fugge. Monica Atias della comunità di Sant'Egidio ha accompagnato in Italia un gruppo di afghani che ha potuto lasciare il paese con i corridoi umanitari. Fra loro anche quattro sorelle determinate a studiare, cosa che non potevano fare in patria, e due giornaliste che sono scappate con i loro figli, caricandoli su una carriola per passare il confine.

But now this. Ghandara News reports that Turkey is persecuting the persecuted. Turkish security forces are using live ammunition and physical force to keep Afghans from entering their borders. So far this year, Turkey has deported nearly 43,000 Afghans. Afghanistan economy has collapsed The Afghanistan economy has completely collapsed, reports CNBC. Humanitarian aid to Afghanistan is not enough to sustain its economy, according to the UN Development Program. Several provincial hospitals in Afghanistan witnessed a 70%-90% increase in the treatment of malnourished children over the first six months of the year, and 75% of the children screened in the Shah Joy district were “acutely malnourished.”  Sergio Mainetti, Acting Country Director for INTERSOS in Afghanistan, told Intersos News, “The economic crash that has happened as a result of the sanctions against the Taliban and the freezing of the country's assets are having a devastating impact. People have lost their jobs, food prices have gone sky high, and to add to their problems, the drought means that many people have lost their livelihoods as well.” Psalm 10:2 says, “The wicked in his pride persecutes the poor. Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.” NASDAQ has dropped 13% The markets open today with the U.S. NASDAQ coming out of a two-week 13% decline. Now, 60% of voters, including 27% of Republicans, say abortion should be legal in most cases. Only 30% support a 15-week ban. When the poll gave a choice of five issues, and asked which made them most likely to vote, respondents put the Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade ahead of inflation. Pro-“gay marriage” woman next British Prime Minister In the providence of God, the United Kingdom will have a new Prime Minister today —  the nation's third female in the top position.    A member of the Conservative Party, Liz Truss has advocated for homosexual faux marriage and environmentalism throughout her political career. When asked about her faith, Ms. Trust said, “I share the values of the Christian faith and the Church of England, but I'm not a regular practicing religious person.” She will be the 15th female head of state out of 45 European countries, a list that includes Scotland, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and Sweden. That's the largest number of female heads of state in European history. Apostolos Veizis (@AVeizis) offers a medical view from the frontlines of the ongoing refugee crisis, which as he explains, is not so much a "refugee crisis" as a crisis of logistics and lack of political will. We discuss the mental and physical health effects of life in overcrowded camps (in this case in the Greek islands), how these conditions are created and exacerbated by cruel policies of deterrence, the true drivers of mass migration from Syria and elsewhere, COVID in the camps, the 2016 EU-Turkey deal, and Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) as an example of a medical-humanitarian response to the crisis. Apostolos Veizis MD is the former Director of Medical Operational Support Unit of MSF Greece, and is presently the Executive Director of INTERSOS in Greece. Ventimiglia: autostrada spesso chiusa per il transito di migranti verso la Francia. Enrico Ioculano, sindaco di Ventimiglia, Don rito Julio alvarez, parroco di Roverino, Alessandro Verona, operatore di InterSoS.

Da alcuni anni Ventimiglia è una terra di esistenze confinate, quelle di chi raggiunge l'Italia e, senza la possibilità di accedere a percorsi strutturati d'accoglienza, finiscono per rimanere bloccate in alcuni luoghi di confine che per loro natura hanno sempre rappresentato dei punti di passaggio, ma che oggi sono il simbolo stesso di un ritorno delle frontiere.Tracciamo un bilancio dell'inverno appena trascorso con Daniela Zitarosa, operatrice legale a Ventimiglia, impegnata con l’organizzazione umanitaria Intersos e presente a Ventimiglia dal luglio 2016, prima con la Diaconia Valdese e poi con Caritas.
