Javea Estavillo, the Philippines' youth delegate to the recent climate change conference in Dubai, delivered a speech calling for developed nations to compensate smaller countries for damage caused by climate change. Raised in Pasig and bound for Stanford University, Javea shares with Howie Severino her impressions of being one of the youngest among tens of thousands of attendees in Dubai. While noting the "small steps" that gave her hope, she acknowledged feeling annoyed by the adults in the room who "kept talking and talking, and a lot of the time I'm sitting there, like, 'Yeah, you're saying that but you're not going to change.'" Before representing the country's youth, Javea spent time on a remote island in Mindanao without electricity getting to know young people there. Afterwards, she helped raise money for solar panels for the community. At Stanford, she intends to study climate science on the road to becoming an environmental lawyer. In the spring of 2022, two Spanish towns were getting ready to celebrate one of their most famous sons. Hundreds – possibly thousands – of tourists would pack the usually sleepy streets of Javea and Getaria to visit temporary exhibitions displaying the finest haute couture. Intricate womenswear designs from the 40s, 50s and 60s, trimmed with the most luxurious lace, sequins and silk, creating intriguing feminine silhouettes that were considered revolutionary at the time. The occasion? The 50th anniversary of the death of a designer whose work transformed the female form forever. A man so talented that his contemporary, Christian Dior, dubbed him “the master of us all”, while American fashion magazine Women's Wear Daily proclaimed “The King is Dead” in their announcement of his untimely death. Ali Greene comes to us today from Javea, Spain. She is originally from the USA but started working remotely in 2014 and started her digital nomad life soon thereafter, traveling around the world for several years before enduring the 2020 lockdowns in France and then more recently settling down in Spain as her new home base. Although she is no longer traveling from country to country as regularly as she had been, she has been part of remote teams, including managing a team of 5. She was previously head of culture at a company called Oyster that specialized in helping remote workers and managers navigate through the waters of things such as taxes for digital nomads. Ali is currently working full time with her co-author on their upcoming book Remote Works Book. She has been recognized as an expert on working remotely and is accustomed to speaking with management-level people about ways that they can make a work-from-home culture more attractive and sustainable for a team. She also has advice for people who would like to advocate for themselves when they would prefer to remain in a home office when others are beginning to return to their workplace. In our interview, Ali chats a bit about the digital nomad lifestyle and how she has personally handled things such as ergonomics and navigating a new city when she doesn't know the language. She is still traveling a few weeks here and there for her work, including some upcoming workshops for digital nomads with children. Sienna Brown shares her story of growing up in New York, starting to travel outside the US, falling in love with Spain, and her broader reflections on the process of self-discovery and re-discovery through travel. She describes what she loves about Spain in general and shares the work she has done since 2014 in building Las Morenas de Espana (LMDES)–-a community and online platform for women of color to redefine the narrative of what it means to be Black in Spain. Sienna shares specific tips for women of color on traveling the world or moving abroad, including the importance of transcending white male representations of the ‘digital nomad' lifestyle, navigating safety and discrimination concerns, and building community in local areas where you travel. She also talks about her 8-week course “Master Your Move Abroad” which helps women of color get the confidence and clarity they need to score the remote work they want and identify the ideal lifestyle and location fit for themselves. She explains the importance of focusing on mindset, methodology, and motivation. She then breaks down her I.S.S.I. the methodology used in the course that helps her students create lives with freedom and flexibility that is also aligned with their personal and professional goals. Sienna also talks about “co-living” and her role as the Director of Marketing and Business Development at Sun & Co. in Javea, Spain.

Marina Pearson is one of our costawomen.com Javea members. She is a bestselling author, speaker and specialist in transforming your stress into effortless living and being in Joy! Marina is revolutionising the understanding of stress and overwhelm for Mums to transform into unadulterated joy.Lovely to meet you here Marina! Whatever aspect of your business we look at, its always about effortless – can you tell us more of your experience as to why you choose that as a theme (or did it choose you?)We use the terms struggling, stuck as words to describe how we are experiencing business/life. I see these moments as states of mind. A mind that is searching that takes you out of the present moment. Effortless for me is when you have clarity of mind and when you are in the present moment - without analysis. Some would call it flow/mental clarity. It’s possible to experience regardless of the circumstances. You see how we feel doesn’t come from our situations or other people. It comes from the thinking we have on the moment 100 percent of the time. The insights and realizations we have help us to declutter the mental chaos that we experience which is why over time we can spend more time in that peace and mental clarity I speak of. This is how we experience effortlessness. What has been the ah-ha moment in your life and how did you cope with it? Any special tips?I have had many. And keep having them. If I were to chose one it would be - we are built for insight. Who we are is universal intelligence in disguise. You have written a new book Joy of Being – what can we expect to learn and understand within its pages? The book points to 2 truths We are always feeling our thinking 100 percent of the time We are divinity in disguise If you insightfully see this - you will experience more joy and miracles!!Coaching is very much part of our world today – what does it mean to you and what would be the benefits of having a coach? For me, it’s about having someone sitting to really listen and understand your world. To create an environment for you to have your own insights. Coaching is hugely beneficial as it helps us uncover our blind spots that stop us from living the life we want. It makes navigating life easier. When you know how a sliding door works - you won’t be attempt to open and close it! One thing you will achieve in 2019 to being you joy of being? To successfully launch (to have about 500 mums do the course this year) my online #MumRelief: Back To Balance online course - to free mums of the mental burdens of motherhood and modern day life :) Find out more by listening to the recording and connecting with MarinaFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/fromfrazzledtofree/Instagram - https://instagram.com/marinapearsonAnd download your first free chapter at www.marinapearson.com/chapter Support the show (https://costawomen.com/help/contact)

Kærligst Mille DEL GERNE I DIT NETVÆRK.
