A member of the PGA of America's Quarter Century Club, Jerry has dedicated his career to teaching and coaching the game of golf for almost 30 years. He directed Kapalua Resort's golf instruction program from 1995 - 2012 and was instrumental in the creation and overall conception and design of Hawaii's premier state-of-the-art golf training facility, the Kapalua Golf Academy. Under his leadership, the Kapalua Golf Academy was recognized by GOLF Magazine in its “Top 25 Golf Schools in America”. Golf Digest magazine designated Jerry as “Top Teacher in Hawaii” ten times and since 2009, Jerry has been recognized as a GOLF Magazine TOP 100 Teacher. Following his tenure at Kapalua Resort, Jerry was on the Presidential Advisory Board for TaylorMade adidas Golf and directed sales in Hawaii, Guam & Saipan while concurrently owning & operating Jerry King Golf Instruction. Former University of Louisville men's basketball players Butch Beard, Wade Houston and Jerry King join “Welcome to the Ville” for a tribute to the late Wes Unseld. Unseld, a member of the University of Louisville and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, passed away earlier this month at the age of 74.   Unseld's number 31 is one of just four retired numbers in UofL history.  In three seasons at UofL (1965-68), he amassed 1,686 points (11th at UofL) and 1,551 rebounds (2nd at UofL).  A consensus All-American during his junior and senior years, Unseld is one of only five Cardinal players to pull down over 1,000 rebounds in his career.   A native of Louisville who graduated from Seneca High School, he began his senior season with a 45-point effort against Georgetown College, a UofL single-game scoring record that stands today.

October's edition of Credit Union Roundtable focuses on credit unions, marking their month-long observance of cooperatives highlighted by International Credit Union Day on the 17th. To help the show get off to a strong start, Walt Laskos called on Stephanie Smith, curator at America's Credit Union Museum, to explain the origins of credit unions in the US and their cooperative structure. Brian Branch, CEO of the World Council of Credit Unions, also joined Laskos from Madison, Wisconsin, where he described the advocacy efforts of credit unions on the global stage through the efforts of the World Council, including its work in helping people in developing countries to form credit unions. Turning attention to America's credit unions, Laskos invited John Bissell, President/CEO of Greylock Federal Credit Union (MA); Gary Furtado, President/CEO of Navigant Credit Union (RI); Brian Hughes, President/CEO of Holy Rosary Credit Union (NH); and Jerry King, President/CEO of DEXSTA Federal Credit Union (DE) to discuss the many ways their credit unions embrace and demonstrate their business values during an interview segment conducted by Isaiah Moskowitz. And as an extra bonus to the inaugural episode of Credit Union Roundtable, Laskos included a discussion of financial exploitation and its growing impact on seniors across America. Norfolk County (MA) District Attorney Michael Morrissey served as Laskos' guest for the interview. Their discussion also covered the Equifax Data Breach settlement and what consumers need to know in order to avail themselves to the benefits stemming from the settlement.

This week's guest is Mike Adams, nationally renowned golf instructor known as the “Swing Dr”, who has been teaching the game of golf for over 33 years. One of the most sought after instructors in the country, Mike has dedicated his life to improving the game of golf for all levels of golfers. Jerry King grew up in rural Mississippi and wanted out when he knew his life would be limited. So at 18 he joined the Army and ended up in operation Desert Shield to liberate Kuwait.  After 10 years, he got out and worked as a policeman and enjoyed interacting with people and dealing with every person uniquely. Eventually, Jerry joined the SWAT team and took part on 1800 missions, but SWAT was not like being a patrolman, he missed the interaction with the public. So photography was a way to re-connect with people and bring out there story through getting the right shot.  That was how J King Images was born and he continues to wow customers with his images. jkingimages.com

The HSJGA (Hawaii State Junior Golf Association) presented the 2014 and 8th Asia Pacific Junior Cup, the Ryder Cup style event, at Waikoloa Kings’ Course for the top junior golfers in Japan & Hawaii. Zak Akagi-Bustin, comments on having played in the 1st Asia Pacific Cup. Long time volunteers of HSJGA (Hawaii State Junior Golf Association) Mary Bea Porter King (Co-founder HSJGA), Cathy Torchiana, & Jerry King, all with professional golf backgrounds share the fun and satisfaction of being the Hawaii Captains for the Asia Pacific Junior Cup.
