You can purchase those on her website, www.energeticalchemist.com Show Notes: -Introduction to the guest, Yolanda Williams, Self-Mastery Mentor, certified Reiki Master, and host of Reiki Radio podcast. -Discussion of Yolanda podcasting for 9 years, why she started, and how it's grown -Yolanda started podcasting because she wanted to create a community to discuss how Reiki works and to answer questions. -Are clients different now during the pandemic, and coming out of it discussion -Yolanda notices clients are hungry to self-soothe, self-heal to navigate the enormous changes -prior to the pandemic people came to her to heal others, to start their own Reiki practice. -Most clients come to her to learn Reiki to focus on their own well-being and self-care. -Yolanda's tools to get through lockdown were to be with her family, she became bi-coastal after family and friends passed away that lived in the East coast. -Yolanda's Alchemy Circle, a community for Reiki practitioners to offer support, and guided meditations was borne from being in the pandemic lockdown. -Serendipity played a big part for Yolanda after being laid off from the corporate sector -She started to feel very stressed and anxious, and an astrologer recommended she take a meditation class and get Reiki sessions. -She started to take Reiki classes and started to practice on friends and family, and organically, her friends started to refer people to her. -She was detached from the results so she didn't feel any pressure, and didn't feel the need to convince people about Reiki. -Yolanda was sharing from her direct experience, she thought Reiki was amazing, and other people thought Reiki was amazing, too. -As her Reiki practice grew into a more formal practice, she made sure to NOT put pressure on herself. -She went through her own dark night of the soul in the beginning of her practice. -She would work on people, and she was also going through her “ick” and she started to feel resentful. -Realized she was holding space for others and realized her self-healing practice wasn't enough, she needed someone to hold space for her. -Her goal was never to be a healer, and she still doesn't put that pressure on herself or label herself a healer. -She studied with different 8 Reiki teachers, to get different perspectives, and spent a lot of money on Reiki classes, and retreats. -Realized that many people in the healing communities struggle with charging money for their work. -She came from a corporate background and understood that your time is valuable, you invested a lot of time and money to develop your healing abilities, why wouldn't you charge for that exchange. -How long did it take from taking her first Reiki classes to formally charge money for Reiki? -Understands that in the spiritual community people struggle to take money in exchange for providing services. -She instills to her listeners and Reiki students to honor their time, their training, the financial investment they made to hone their craft. -It's all mindset, if it's valuable to you, act like it, how long are you going to hold on to that story of not charging money in exchange for providing healing services.  -Yolanda stated that she invested in building a website, making the podcast, and newsletters. -If she is investing that, she needs to have an exchange of monies in order to continue sharing her love of Reiki. -Sharmila explains her view of self-worth and self-esteem in terms of an economic chart, there is a baseline, anything below, to her, is the poverty level--very little to no sense of self-worth or self-esteem, anything above the baseline is good to a high sense of self-esteem and self-worth.  -Yolanda answers that she did have a healthy sense of self-esteem and self-worth and that it's true that low self-worth and self-esteem attributes to struggles with money with spiritual services. -Yolanda talks about how people have a certain idea of what you are expected to earn money for and paying for, it's okay to earn money at a corporate job, for instance. -She says more people are becoming spiritual entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs in general in the past few years. -And if you are working, you are showing up then you can expect to charge for the services that you are offering. In this week's episode I discuss TRE - Tension and trauma releasing exercises, with Sylvia Tillman, an alternative practitioner. Sylvia specialises in Jikiden Reiki, Laughter yoga, and of course, TRE. TRE is a somatic self help tool to release deep muscular patterns of stress. The exercises assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma, created and held in the body during a traumatic experience or through chronic stress. When grieving, we are very focused on our mental wellbeing and seeking out therapy or counselling, but grieving has an effect on us mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally and all areas need tending to as mind and body are intrinsically linked and they shouldn't be seen in isolation. We discuss how TRE can very simply help us release this tension and trauma and the wonderful knock on effects this can have. We have to learn to tune into our bodies more, to reconnect with our bodies, and allow it to lead us to our healing. I have been through many professional transitions in my life. Struggling with her weight, and having bought into the background hum of ‘cut the carbs', she adopted a low carb diet. Calorie counting ensued, combined with a modest daily exercise routine.It worked. Sort of. Dropping from a size 18 to a size 8, she was feeling pretty good about herself. Then she checked her blood profile to discover an elevated lipid profile, markers suggesting a tendency to heart disease. She shrugged off to genetics. Both her father and grandfather died relatively young of atherosclerosis. It's just something I was born with. Something I just have to live with.Nonetheless, she couldn't shake the feeling that perhaps there was something she could do to alter this seemingly immutable fate.Meanwhile, Gemma's husband Richard picked up a little book called Finding Ultra while training for the London Marathon. He decided to give this plant-based diet thing a whirl. Being the skeptical doctor she is, Gemma was less than enthusiastic.Where would he get his protein? Won’t there be nutritional deficiencies? We will never be invited to friend’s houses for dinner ever again! How would I feed my family? Undeterred, Richard completed that marathon, slicing an incredible one hour and ten minutes off his personal best.This got Gemma's attention.She had already been passionate about researching lifestyle medicine. How changes in stress, sleep, exercise and diet could improve health for a long time. - Cin had many opportunities in her younger years to work in the holistic health field for several exceptional Chiropractors. Nikki completed her Reiki Master Teacher level training in Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki in June 2010 and is a member of the International Association of Reiki Professionals. She received her Reiki I through Teacher-level training from Libby Barnett of the Reiki Healing Connection who teaches the Usui traditional style brought to the U.S. & taught by Mrs. Hawayo Takata. Since beginning her Reiki training in 2009, Nikki has worked with family, friends and animals and has maintained a daily personal practice. Mari Hall is a multifaceted woman; a Life Skills Coach, Trainer, and Motivational Speaker. Her focus is on providing individual and couples skills to return to a balanced state. She specializes in stress reduction, women’s’ issues and family mediation services. Her goals are to continue to inspire people to remember their birthright and live life fully. Mari has been a teacher/practitioner of Reiki for over 30 years. She has a private practice and also does distance work and phone consultations. She travels to teach all over the world.  She taught and lived in Europe for over 18 years. During that time she founded and still directs the International Association of Reiki. Through this association she has taught over 50,000 people Reiki and authored and had 9 books published on Reiki in many different languages.  In 2009 Mari met Tadao Yamaguchi in Bogotá, Columbia where they were speaking at a Reiki Conference with Arjava Petter. She took her first Shoden and Okuden courses in Bogotá with Tadao and Arjava. She became a Shihan Kaku or assistant teacher of Jikiden Reiki in May 2011 and has assisted in a large number of courses since 2009 with Arjava. The seminars replicate those taught in 1930s and are based on over 65 years of treatment experience. She became a Shihan in May 2013.  Mari is also a designer of very special one of kind prayer beads. Her designs incorporate precious and semi precious stones and prayer. She has an extensive web site devoted to the use of prayer, mantras and beads for health and harmony.   

Shirushi: What’s their importance? The Shirushi (Reiki symbols) indeed do have their function. They do their ‘thing’ when used both during local and distance healing, as well as attunements. Choku Rei, Seiheiki, Hon sha ze sho nen and Dai Ko Myo are the four traditional symbols used within the Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki. There are however other reiki branches which uses the same symbols such as Jikiden Reiki. Other Reiki traditions such as the Raku Kei Reiki uses symbols such as Raku, Fire Serpent and more. The four traditional reiki symbols are not as secret as they are sacred. Using the Dai Ko Myo as example: It is made up by general Kanjis which are supposed to be known by fourth grade primary school students! It is not a symbol in and by itself, but when used in proper context it allows for the attunement process to take place. The HSZSN symbol is another form of kanji, albeit stylized, which are known by primary school students as well. Nothing super secret there, huh? Used in proper context – this symbol is used for distance healing, as the initiating symbol to create a connection to the client. Choku Rei and Sei Hei ki symbols have traces back to the Kurama Kokyo Sect (buddhism) as well as shinto practices, as symbol for a specific deity. This is not unlike the Makoto no kokyo ho meditation which uses the sun mudra nichirin-in during it’s second last part, forming a triangle infront of ones forehead before vibrating sancript OM, or as it is a japanese version – ON on the exhale. The ‘symbols’ are abstract things, not having overly much power or importance by themselves. But they are part of the usui shiki ryoho tradition, and cannot be explained by words. It is said that they have to be experienced.
