They also cover drama with dancers on tour, poppers etiquette, Coke Zero marketing, and whether Bob actually understands what makes something low sodium. Plus, did Monét DARVO a fan? Pagpapatuloy lamang ito ng ating maharot na kikihan with drag super queens Miss Clea Torres and Miss Maria Christina!Matapang nilang sasagutin ang mga nabiting issues from the previous episode like having sex in drag, the business of tucking and the inevitable 'accidents', at ang laban at pakikipagtagisan ng galing, ganda, at talento ng mga Pinoy drag artists versus the best of the rest of the world. Alamin natin: may laban nga ba ang mga reynang Pinoy versus the likes of Bob the Drag Queen, Monet X Change, Violet Chachki, Bianca Del Rio? Ooh baby, this week’s Drag Tots extended promo/design challenge really ended with a boom clap of a lip sync, and reigning assassin Kameron Michaels had something to say about it. We kick things off this week diving into the end of the episode, when both queens did the best they could with what they were given, which was also a running theme for this challenge. The PTSD flashback to junior high of a mini-challenge mostly knocks Moody K Bonet off her axis for a bit, but bossy, messy, gassy, shady Eureka laughs it off and gives us big BSA energy all the way into Untucked. We discuss our own cartoon characters, the meaning of Mexicatessen, school play trees, Untucked music, expectations for the forever teased game within a game and some All Stars 6 superlatives of our own. Their annual festival was set to kick-off on March 22, 2020, but was postponed to the fall due to the global pandemic. Philadelphia Pride was subsequently postponed, and out of that, PrideFLIX was born. Rooted in its 26-year history, qFLIX proudly continues its tradition of sharing the stories of LGBTQ+ people. The virtual film festival will launch on Monday, June 1 2020, and promises a stellar line up of LGBTQ+ documentaries, feature films, short films, and web series. One of the highlights will be a screening is that of gay writer/director Mike Mosallam’s rom-com, “Breaking Fast.” The film stars out actor Haaz Sleiman as Mo, a heartbroken gay Muslim who meets — and eats with — Kal (Michael Cassidy) during Ramadan. Because the Holy Month forbids impure thoughts and activities, Mo is forced to practice self-control. Mosallam’s clever conceit allows Mo and Kal to fall in love as their relationship develops over numerous romantic meals and dates. Sleiman and Mosallam, who were to be honored for their work at the fest in March, have been invited to participate in a post-screening talkback via zoom on June 29 along with Seth Hauer, the film’s producer. Several of the films will include talkbacks with filmmakers and/or talent. In addition, PrideFLIX is planning a weekly moderated discussion of specific titles on Sunday nights in June to help foster a sense of community during this period of social distancing. Ticket prices will range from $7-$10 per viewing, with $1 of each viewing going towards local LGBTQ+ non-profits. There will also be an option to purchase a festival badge to view all the films. Visit https://www.qflixphilly.com/qflix-presents-prideflix-the-virtual-pride-film-festival/ 5) William Way LGBT Community Center Benefit Kick-Off Starts June 1, 2021 Sofitel Philadelphia at Rittenhouse Square 120 S. 17th St. Philadelphia, PA 19103 215-569-8300 Every year in June, Sofitel Philadelphia announces a year-round benefit for a local LGBTQ charity. The pain of suffering through the pandemic, the shifts in our relationship with technology, the immense amount of loss, the calls to action, and our strength to carry on as a community are all themes explored by artists of this show. During this long period of uncertainty, there were times we found comfort in the care of others, through loved ones, and through members of our communities. We’ve seen the artistic landscape change completely, with in-person shows adjusting, shifting to online formats, and many artists spending more time at home, embracing new mediums. There is no singular way to describe this past year’s traumatic experience just as there is no singular way to depict or process such events. It is together as a community that we can begin to rebuild and maintain a renewed sense of hope. This exhibition features works by Allis Chang, Charlie Welch, Chloe Luisa Piñero, Christine Jung, Cheyanne Kemp, Coco Spencer, Daisy Diamond, Emilia Onthank, Erin Moore, Frankie Modesto, Harry Hoy, JaySquids, Kara Mshinda, Lawrence Ade Scales, Logan JM, Lucia Garzón, M. The year 2020 has turned the world of drag upside down and round and round. Since most venues have closed, performances have gone online and drag queens are speaking truth to power like never before. With the industry going through some contortions it’s oddly fitting that super elastic Yvie Oddly would be the last drag queen before the ‘Rona Pandemic hit to be crowned America’s Next Drag Superstar. But not even an apocalypse will keep fierce queens down- new forms of entertainment are adapting to entice audiences and Voss Events’ Drive ’N Drag Series is merging the world of drive in movies and drag into an innovative show where you don’t even have to leave your car to take a selfie with a queen.Today the wonderfully weird Yvie Oddly, winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 11, joins us to talk about doing drag during the times of Rona, the surprising criticism she got from fans and fellow contestants after being crowned and killing it as a lip synch assassin on RuPaul's Drag Race All Star Season 5.Plus--➤ Why did RuPaul and Kameron Michaels delete all the photos on their Instagram accounts?➤ Tina Turner, the original queen of the apocalypse is back for more.
She was introduced to many of us on Season 10 of Rupaul’s Drag Race as the body builder barbie, she's the lipsync assassin who slays the house down, and she’s not afraid to show the world it’s okay to be introverted because that’s who she is! Her name is Kameron Michaels and she's about to be EXPOSED virtually! #KameronMichaels #DragRace #Rupaul
Evan Ross Katz, writer and host of the podcast Shut Up Evan, joins Brent, Eliot and H. Alan to talk about a potpourri of gay (and gay adjacent) pop culture, from Harry Styles' pearl necklace to Meghan McCain drag to what it means to "serve." Also, can we cancel the entire state of Idaho for wanting to inspect its NCAA players' genitals just to make sure they're not trans? Leave trans people alone, Idaho! And finally, what would it take for the guys to return to a gay bar, and just how does Eliot manage to sneak a Kameron Michaels reference into the conversation? Learn more about your ad choices. So many questions this week! Why did Kameron Michaels kick sister Asia O'Hara out of her meet and greet? Why is Morgan McMichaels our new hero? Who is Alyssa Edwards dating? Trixie and Katya are returning are returning with Unhhhh— but to what medium?! Then, we continue our Season 5 ru-watch with the Rupaul Roast (season 5, episode 7), and revel in the ahead-of-its-time stand-up comedy of one miss Alyssa Edwards. Can i get a gay-men?
On episode 31 of #ThatPodcast, LPiddy and Jon Jon spill all the tea on the two events that are taking over social media: Rupaul's Drag Race and Tanacon. LPiddy and Jon Jon do a Rucap on Season 10 of Rupaul's Drag Race. They use their new shade button from World of Wonder Productions. The hosts kiki about the Drag Race Reunion and Grand Finale, on VH1, at the Theater at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, California. The Top Four Queens, Aquaria, Eureka O'Hara, Asia O'Hara and Kameron Michaels, did a sudden death Lipsync for the Crown. Ultimately, Aquaria took the title of America's Next Drag Superstar. There was also a special appearance by all of the Season 1 queens of Rupaul's Drag Race, including Bebe Zahara Benet, Nina Flowers, Rebecca Glasscock, Shannel, Ongina, Jade Sotomayer, Akashia and Victoria "Porkchop" Parker. For unknown reasons, Tammie Brown was not at the Finale. The Season 10 queens of Rupaul's Drag Race killed it this season. Shoutout to the Season's queens, Aquaria, Eureka O'Hara, Kameron Michaels, Asia O'Hara, Miz Cracker, Monet X. Change, The Vixen, Monique Heart, Blair St. Clair, Mayhem Miller, Dusty Ray Bottoms, Yuhua Hamasaki, Kalorie Karbdashian Williams and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo. Then, LPiddy and Jon Jon follow up on their previous podcast about Tanacon. TanaCon was to take place June 22 and 23, 2018 at the Anaheim Marriott Suites in Anaheim/Garden Grove, California, a short distance from the controversial Vidcon, which was being held in the Anaheim Convention Center, in, of course, Anaheim, California. TanaCon was supposed to be the more inclusive version of Vidcon, due to creator's frustration with safety concerns last year. The irony is that TanaCon was shut down by the Fire Marshall and Anaheim Fire Department due to large crows, riots and, ultimately, safety. According to tweets and reports, TanaCon sold about 5000 non-paid and paid tickets to this year's event. Later reports indicate that over 4000 of the tickets sold were paid VIP badges. Tons of teens swarmed the quaint Anaheim Marriott, with many fans waiting hours to either get into a tight convention or never get in at all. Many are reporting dehydration and sun burns. Shane Dawson created a three-part documentary on the Tanacon disaster. He interviews the two crucial components in this event, Good Times' CEO Michael Weist and Tanacon YouTuber Tana Mongeau. We recommend you check it out on YouTube. Check out Episode 31 of That Podcast to hear LPiddy and Jon Jon dish on Rupaul's Drag Race and Shane Dawson's Docuseries on Tanacon!
