Welcome back ATO Family   Today we bring you a story from a retired servant that served over three decades in Los Angeles County. Jeff Wenninger grew up in Kent Ohio and was raised in a unique blended family during a time in this country that family diversity was rare. Jeff realized that his natural physical prowess led him to dominate hockey and set him on a path to learning a new type of resiliency and leadership style. He hired on with the LA County Sheriffs office and worked there until he joined the historic Los Angeles Police Department where he served thirty years and retired as a Lt. This will tell his story of how he grew into a natural leader and developed a style that garnered the attention of the command staff to trust him in leading high profile units. Jeff took over the RAMPART CRASH Unit after the scandal that rocked the Department and the police profession from the late 90s to the early 2000s. This week we wind down our season of co-teaching chronicles, exploring the myriad types of partnerships and collaborations that can best support students with and without disabilities in the general education setting. Tracy and Mike talk to two of Kent City Schools' co-teachers from Stanton Middle School in Kent Ohio, which is a 6th through 8th grade building. The two teams we meet today are Ashley Ford, Intervention Specialist, and Kimberley White, 6th grade English Language Arts teacher. They describe their partnership as a beautiful friendship verging on sisterhood, and once again, we get to hear how these partners lean into their personal strengths and skill sets in order to maximize impact for all students, using a variety of different teaching strategies. On today's episode, I'm extremely excited to be speaking with Mr. Pat Kennedy, guitarist for new band No Pressure, as well as the guitarist and vocalist for the band Light Years. Pat is from Kent Ohio, and we talk about what it was like growing up in the scene there. We talk all about how No Pressure came to be. The vocalist for No Pressure is Parker Cannon, vocalist for The Story So Far. No Pressure has been putting out music since 2020. They released an ep in 2020, a single last year, and a killer LP just dropped a few weeks ago. We talk about the formation of the band, the positive reception they've received so far, and what he thinks is missing from the scene these days. This was a really fun conversation. Pat seems like a really humble dude. I really enjoyed chatting with him and I think everyone should check out No Pressure, as well as Light Years.

In 1977, Dale George Lytle and Dave Raudman united the musicians that would form Angeles in Tujunga, Ca. Their first Hollywood gig was at the Troubadour where they sold out playing the midnight slot on a Sunday night. That paved the way to becoming one of LA's Largest Indie bands of the 80's. In 1980, Angeles headlined the Fall Rock Festival at Devonshire Downs. In 1981, they co-headlined two concerts with Mötley Crüe at the Troubadour. The band is still going strong in 2022 with a new album, Running Like An Outlaw. We had the opportunity to chat with Dale Lytle as he was headed to Kent Ohio to play a show June 17. His story is inspirational and speaks to the adage that it is a long way to the top if you want to Rock and Roll .... just don't quit! His band released their first album in 1984, received a platinum award (1,000,000 sold) in 2014. In 2004 Professor Douglas Shaw was found shot dead in his home. Douglas' son was the one who found the body. Doug's wife was out of town. There has been no arrest in the unsolved homicide investigation of Douglas Shaw from Kent, Ohio. 2019 Troy Lamont Stevens was shot down in the city of Akron, Ohio. Troy's body was found on the sidewalk in front of a house. No arrests have been made. 2019: Some ideas for history books are sitting right in front of our noses, waiting for a smart writer to recognize opportunity and put the puzzle pieces together. That’s kind of how I imagine Jason Prufer’s new book, Small Town, Big Music: The Outsized Influence of Kent, Ohio, on the History of Rock and Roll, came into existence. The book captures a lot of great musical moments that occurred in the college town that is home to Kent State University and threads them together in a compelling narrative.

Chris Broderick is a Heavy Metal Guitar player who has worked with Jag Panzer, Nevermore, Megadeth, and most recently with Act Of Defiance.
