Ouvert en 2019, seulement un an après la sortie du tube éponyme, le DjaDja Afro Club, boîte branchée de Casablanca, est devenu le symbole d'un pays en plein bouleversement démographique, où les Africains d'origine subsaharienne se comptent désormais par dizaines de milliers. Le nombre de résidents étrangers au Maroc a augmenté de 76 % en 10 ans. Les Sénégalais et les Ivoiriens sont en tête des nations les plus représentées.  De notre correspondant à Casablanca, Au DjaDja, des clients venus de toute l'Afrique se pressent pour écouter les derniers sons afro en vogue, mais le lieu s'est donné pour but d'ouvrir ses portes au plus grand nombre et de participer à ce grand mouvement d'expansion culturelle de la musique africaine dans le monde. À 30 minutes de l'ouverture des portes, Konaté Vamory, le créateur ivoirien de la boite de nuit afro la plus célèbre du pays, est détendu sur une banquette en skaï, aux côtés d'un buste géant d'une femme noire qui trône au-dessus du DJ booth. L'établissement vient de fêter ses 7 ans d'existence et il est devenu une référence de la nuit casablancaise. « C'est la fête abidjanaise que j'ai voulu apporter ici, et voilà, on l'a fait et ça a été très bien fait. Toute la semaine, je suis moi-même émerveillé, rit le gérant du DjaDja club, de l'ambiance que les DJ produisent et de comment ça se défoule sur la piste de danse… Je suis émerveillé tous les soirs, donc tous les soirs, c'est une nouvelle histoire au DjaDja. » La boîte de nuit est devenue le symbole d'un Maroc devenu pays de destination et plus seulement de transit pour les travailleurs migrants venus d'Afrique subsaharienne. Sénégalais, Ivoiriens, Congolais – sapés comme jamais – se pressent déjà devant les portes de l'établissement situé sur la corniche Aïn Diab en bord d'océan. Le club propose une diversité inédite de musiques venues de toute l'Afrique. Konaté Vamory, le patron originaire de Boundiali en Côte d'Ivoire, veut faire du DjaDja une vitrine internationale de la musique afro. « Il y a des gens de toutes les communautés et de tous les continents, s'exclame-t-il. Parfois, le weekend, tu as des Asiatiques, des Saoudiens, des Blacks bien sûr, des Afros, des Marocains, même des Arabes… donc tout le monde vient. » À lire aussiFestival Gnaoua 2026: les ponts à travers l'Afrique de Richard Bona et des maâlems marocains « Une sorte d'expansion culturelle africaine » Pour convaincre le propriétaire des lieux d'accepter son projet, Konaté Vamory a tablé sur le haut de gamme : achat d'une bouteille plus que recommandé pour pouvoir entrer et cocktail à 150 dirhams, près de 15 euros. L'équipe est très qualifiée, comme ce barman congolais, Cheryl qui est « artiste barman jongleur, donc je jongle avec des ustensiles du bar, des shakers, des bouteilles… ». Un DJ sénégalais, des danseuses marocaines, ou encore un superviseur camerounais, qui répond au nom de Joseph-Renault Bagel, complètent l'équipe. « C'est l'Afrique et nous essayons d'avoir cette mixité, histoire que tout le monde s'y retrouve et nous partageons toutes les musiques », s'enthousiasme ce dernier. L'homme jovial, au look inimitable, évoque un lieu refuge, ouvert à tous, où les propos racistes et irrespectueux restent à la porte d'entrée. « Le racisme, il est présent, mais chez nous, au DjaDja, l'une de nos missions, c'est de mettre de côté tout ce qui est divergence culturelle, tout ce qui est divergence de couleur de peau, explique Joseph-Renault Bagel. Il y a beaucoup de populations, beaucoup de communautés, des musiques qu'elles ne connaissaient pas, et le DjaDja a cette mission d'apporter, au-delà de la bonne musique, de la culture aussi, une sorte d'expansion culturelle africaine. » Le DjaDja a accueilli des stars de la musique afro : Roseline Layo, Singuila, Didi B ou encore Himra. Mais la Queen Aya Nakamura, dont le tube « DjaDja » a baptisé le club, est encore attendue. « Je ne sais pas si elle est au courant, rit Konaté Vamory, on n'a pas encore les moyens pour la faire venir mais quand elle sera là, on lui racontera l'histoire pour lui faire plaisir. »
