Lot of T&A in this one
Lucio Fulci's MURDER ROCK (1984) is not considered the director's finest work but in this episode Troy Guinn, Jeff Nelson and I mount a defense of the film. We take a look at several aspects of the film that are rarely discussed including the excellent cinematography and the script's clever red herrings. It's standard for a murder mystery to throw suspicion on most of the cast but several of the suspects in this case are real nasty pieces of work! How often do you have one character falsely confess to the killing and another try to use the murder method to cover their own desire to be rid of a rival? It certainly keeps things lively even if it makes for a difficult knot to untangle. We discuss the cast while marveling at the number of actors/dancers that don't get screen credit. The central dream sequence comes under scrutiny as part of the mid-80's intrusion of music video style into cinema. We mull over the nearly bloodless nature of the murders as a possible concession to the angry response Fulci received for his previous New York set thriller. We also give our opinions on the often-derided score from the legendary Keith Emerson who seems destined to be insulted for his contributions to this film for eternity. In all, it is a fun ramble through an often-overlooked giallo. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions thebloodypit@gmail.com is the place to write or drop a recording of your thoughts. We love hearing from you so jump in! Thank you for listening.
"Hey, hey hey! Wow!" Acomi and Turk182 are back with another episode of SupaidaMan a.k.a. Japanese Spider-Man. Episode 7 - Fearful Hit Tune! Song Dancing Murder Rock, an android rock, created by the Iron Cross Army, has a popular song that's sweeping like an inferno across Japanese. No one can escape this earworm, least of all SupaidaMan. Crippled by the horrendous song, that was attuned to interfere with his Supaida Sense, he unable to defend himself when it plays. But, as we all know, you can't keep a Japanese spider down. And, after finding a way to counteract the song's pitch, he shows them that Supaidaman ain't one to be played with. They're going to wish they stayed a Shoyu Weenie cover band! Acomi and Turk182, along the occasional special guest, provide running commentary of awfulsome movie and TV shows. The hosts select movies that either one, or both, have never seen. All jokes and comments are improvised. NO PREPARED JOKES OR COMMENTS! During recording, the movies are watched at a low volume and with the subtitles on. Viewers may want to turn subtitles on as well to enhance the viewing experience. So, cue up the audio, ready the movie, and hit play when we say so. Note: This video is the commentary recorded by Acomi and Turk182, and selected screenshots. It is NOT a viewable copy of the film. The commentary can be enjoyed on its own, but if you want to experience the Let's Watch in all its glory, you'll need your own copy of the movie. Most of the movies viewed can be streamed online for free. #OMTWF #KorovaEntertainment #LetsWatch #LW #Acomi #Turk182 #awfulsome #SupaidaMan #JapaneseSpiderMan #machinebem #heyheyheywow #Leopardon Follow Acomi on Twitter at @AcomiDraws and on Instagram at AcomiDraws. There’s little to talk about so this Friday episode is a slalom run of stupidity as Brendan and Andy swerve back and forth from topic to topic. They begin with some follow-up intel on Tommy II, Mike Davis’s new partner in crime, and his preferred attire while out on the job. Then they relay an origin story for the Murder Rock course name, which has something to do with a criminal named Alf. There’s also more details on the insanity of that layout, a range that was essentially a grass wall, and a few more thoughts on the bunkers at Payne’s Valley. They also address Rory’s comments on Bryson arm-locking and the impact that Davis’s departure will have on equipment regulation. After a discussion on making their own wine, they transition to the actual golf this week, which is more a reason to talk about the Sepptic tank’s life moving from Vienna to Valdosta, Tyler McCumber’s life hitchhiking, and Xinjun Zhang being known as the Bad Boy of Chinese golf.
On this episode of the Cinematic Void Podcast, we slip on our black gloves and slice into the giallo films of Lucio Fulci with Scott Carlson from the band Repulsion. Featuring some the most eclectic, sexual and vicious films of Fulci's career, we cover PERVERSION STORY, A LIZARD IN A WOMAN'S SKIN, DON'T TORTURE A DUCKLING, SEVEN NOTES IN BLACK, THE NEW YORK RIPPER and MURDER ROCK.
So, while we are releasing this episode today, let us not forget that TONIGHT, June 19th at 8pm, we will be once again hosting a LIVE Zoom Watchalong, this time of WISHMASTER! Check out our social media for more on how you can get involved. So onto Episode 106 then and we are absolutely delighted to welcome this week's guest to the show. He is one of the co-hosts on the always excellent Arrow Video Podcast (alongside previous guest Sam Ashurst) and also the Special Effects designer on such films as Lords of Chaos, Girl On The Third Floor, Color Out Of Space and Possessor... It's Dan Martin! His chosen film? MURDER ROCK! Way back in 1994 and coming hot on the heels of mixed fare such as New York Ripper, Conquest and Manhattan Baby, Italian "Godfather of Gore" Lucio Fulci takes a swing at dance films such as Flashdance with this bizarre, dance-themed giallo which, largely, lands! Check it out! The synopsis is as follows: A series of murders rock a dance academy in New York in which the mysterious directress, Candice, sets out to find the kiler, with a little assistance from a shady male model, named George, who has a hidden agenda for her as does she for him. Huge thanks to Dan for joining us! Follow him on Twitter HERE! Please note that this episode contains strong language, conversations of an adult nature and EXTREMELY Scottish accents. Originally published in May of 2015, Zach Betonte and Andrew Swope discuss Lucio Fulci’s spandex slasher film, “Murder Rock” originally released in 1984. The discussion elaborates on Fulci’s relationship to 1980’s American popular culture, the irrational character motivations, and how Fulci’s production restrictions enhance the formal atmosphere of his films.
Ahoy there. The Captain and Jon are sticking to the ship in these troubled times and are still on the chain. This episode we are talking 1984's Murder Rock directed by the legend that is Lucio Fulci. Does Murder Rock stack up though? Tune in to find out.
At a world famous dance school, students are dropping like flies and the police are too incompetent to find out who's doing it. Watch as the movie throws the watcher on several red-herrings as to who the killer might be, all while trying to be both a dark and mature murder mystery, as well as a teen-focused dance film. This week, it's Murder-Rock: Dancing Death, released April 20th in 1984. Check out Sandro's other podcast, Nerd-Out! https://omny.fm/shows/nerdout Got feedback? Just a few short miles south of Branson lies a feature that has nothing to do with the famed tourist attractions music, shows, and theatrical performances that has brought so much attention to this small corner of the Ozarks. This feature, a cluster of elephant rocks, or large boulders of sandstone that survived the erosion of soil around them, saw performances that had nothing to do with country or bluegrass music. No, this outcropping of sandstone was the theater for a depraved bushwacker, thief, and killer, whose gang used the rocky formation to ambush travellers and soldiers during the first half of the war between the states. Following the death of the villainous madman, this formation would be rumored to hold the treasures and ill gotten gains that the killer had acquired in his heists and would become a favorite location for Ozark treasure hunters. Join us as we examine Murder Rock, Alf Bolin, and the legends surrounding the man and his treasure, and how they became a part… of the Show-Me. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-show-me-podcast/message

Episode 80 takes you to the far away land of England. Or Spain. Or Italy…. maybe all of the aforementioned combined. No matter, your hosts have a few things to discuss first. First, can your low-budget movie run solely on pizza? And then, what about Telly Savalas and his penchant for lollipops? He seems to have them a lot, even when playing The Devil. But at least he’s not mad about apples! Will has binged on MST3K (the new one) and reports back. And then a word about streaking. It happens in the opening sequence of the featured movie and we suppose it to be a protest. Among several protests. Will knew some people who would streak for fun. Well, fun followed by shame and embarrassment when a hotel exit isn’t really an exit. Richard has a story as well, so listen to hear it! We contemplate what “Murder Rock” might be. Jolyon fills us all in on the numerous titles of “Manchester Morgue”…there are at least 15. Oh, and btw- Jolyon did identify the correct Tony (Musante). So, dear listeners, come on by and give the episode a listen…we’ll leave two bits on the bureau for you. You know, the chester drawers. No? We’ll just leave it on the davenport…whatever the hell that is! Remember, DON’T walk the dog! DON’T open the window!
