Ah, so orneryMisokinesia
"Ornery" seems like an ordinary enough word, but its link to "ordinary" might surprise people.
SUMMARYFrom medieval itineraries to modern livestreams, Christian pilgrimage is often, if not always experienced through an imaginative transposal from a physical reality to a spiritual truth. In this episode, hosts Lindsay Pereira and Ella Jando-Saul explore the concept of virtual pilgrimage through conversations with two guests: Michael Van Dussen, a professor in the Department of English at McGill University in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal, teaches us about the medieval experience of pilgrimage in the British Isles while Simon Coleman, a professor in the Department for the Study of Religion at the University of Toronto teaches us about the modern reconstruction of pilgrimage to Walsingham in Norfolk, England.Simon Coleman's latest book, Powers of Pilgrimage: Religion in a World of Movement, can be found here.*VOICE AND SOUND CREDITSInterviewees:Dr. Michael Van Dussen, Professor of English Literature, McGill University.Dr. Simon Coleman, Professor of Anthropology and Religion, University of Toronto.Theme music:“Ai Tal Domna”: composed by Berenguier de Palou, recorded by Zep Hurme ©2014. Folks, I will not lie to you, this episode isn't the best-sounding thing in the world. It's a bit crunchy, but that's OK. Yes, this is an audio medium, but sometimes the audio just decides to not agree with the talent. Either way, we know that you will listen, and when it sounds bad you will say "This is ok because I love these bros". This is an episode that you need to put yourself in the headspace of "I'm listening to this last Saturday." Because we recorded this last Saturday. Yes, that is correct. This was a pre-Chiefs W podcast. We knew they were gonna win so we just went ahead and did a show before the game. But this is not a meathead episode of The Good Brothers Show. On the contrary, our main topic is toys, so I guarantee you will have a blast! If not, the episode is at least short and we chat about Ted and Young Sheldon at the end because the fans were asking for it. Leave a rating/review and subscribe so you know when new episodes drop. Ornery, cantankerous, unwashed and a master trapper. Captured by Apaches, they took all his belongings and turned him loose to walk over two hundred miles barefoot. Usually very cautious, he made the mistake of agreeing to be a guide for John C. Fremont. The expedition was a disaster that ended with the death of Old Bill. Learn more about your ad choices.
