Hey there, and welcome to another episode of The Tax Talk, the podcast where we simplify all things tax and payroll. Whether you're just getting started with your employment or running your own business, we've got you covered. Today, we're diving into a topic that confuses many: finding your PAYE reference number. Now, whether you're an employee or an employer, the PAYE reference number is something you're bound to come across. But what is it, why is it important, and most crucially, how can you find it? We're about to break it all down for you, step by step. Section 1: What Is a PAYE Reference Number? Before we jump into where you can find your PAYE reference number, let's start with the basics. The PAYE reference number is a code given to an employer by HMRC (Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs) when they register as an employer. PAYE stands for "Pay As You Earn," which is the system used by HMRC to collect income tax and National Insurance from employees directly via payroll. The PAYE reference number is crucial because it helps HMRC identify your employer and manage the income tax and National Insurance records for each employee. If you're an employee, this number will be attached to your pay, and it's especially important when you're dealing with tax returns, applying for loans or mortgages, or even when switching jobs. For employers, it's vital for submitting payroll information, calculating deductions, and communicating with HMRC. Section 2: Why Do You Need Your PAYE Reference Number? So, why is this number so important? As an employee, you might need your PAYE reference number for a variety of reasons: Filing Tax Returns: Whether you're completing a self-assessment or need to check your tax records, your PAYE reference will be required. Loan Applications: Banks or lenders may request this number to verify your employment or income. Tax Queries: If you ever need to contact HMRC to discuss your tax code, adjustments, or any issues with tax deductions, your PAYE reference will likely be asked for. Changing Jobs: When switching employers, your new employer will often use this reference number to ensure your tax records are properly transferred. If you're an employer, you'll need your PAYE reference number for: Submitting Real Time Information (RTI) reports to HMRC. Issuing P60 and P45 forms. Ensuring the correct tax codes are applied for your employees. So, it's safe to say, this little number has big importance! Section 3: How to Find Your PAYE Reference Number (For Employees) Now, let's get to the big question. How do you find this mysterious PAYE reference number if you're an employee? There are several places where you can locate it: Your Payslip: One of the easiest places to check is your payslip. Your employer usually includes the PAYE reference number somewhere on the slip, usually near the payroll number. Your P60 or P45 Form: If you've ever received a P60 (the form that summarizes your pay and tax deductions for the year) or a P45 (the form given when you leave a job), you'll find the PAYE reference number listed here. The P60 is issued at the end of every tax year, so keep this form handy! Section 4: Finding the PAYE Reference Number as an Employer Now, if you're an employer, and you've just registered your business with HMRC, you'll be assigned a PAYE reference number for your payroll scheme. Here's where to look for it: HMRC Registration Documents: When you first register as an employer with HMRC, they send you an Employer's PAYE letter. Section 5: What Does the PAYE Reference Number Look Like? The PAYE reference is usually made up of two parts. The first part is a three-digit code that identifies the tax office that manages your employer's payroll. The second part is a unique reference number for your employer, often separated by a slash. For example, it might look like this: 123/AB45678. Why not read our helpful Article on our FD Capital website.

In 1910 Virginia Woolf and a group of friends caused a stir when they were welcomed on board the HMS Dreadnought, disguised as a delegation of Abyssinian royalty. At the 2017 Conservative Party conference, Theresa May was handed a P45 in the middle of giving her speech. Both these events made the headlines, but what was the intention behind them and did they have any impact beyond provoking either amusement or outrage? Matthew Sweet is joined by Danell Jones who has looked in detail at the Dreadnought Hoax, Simon Brodkin who has staged various high profile stunts including delivering Theresa May's P45 and Kerry Shale whose father was an inveterate prankster who sold practical jokes for a living.Producer: Torquil MacLeodThe Girl Prince: Virginia Woolf, Race and the Dreadnought Hoax by Danell Jones is out now. EVOL is on the highway to hydrogen this week with news that the Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group is looking to build fuelling stations across the north of Scotland. It's an ambitious plan with a lot of enthusiasm behind it, but does it have the wheels? Mark then regales us with tales of woe from companies bearing the brunt of governments decision to pull the plug on support for oil and gas exports. The team questions whether it could prompt firms to up sticks, depriving the UK of much needed jobs and cash. Finally, special guest Jeremy Cresswell, Energy Voice emeritus editor, discusses OPITO's decision to launch an energy transition team, and how, after proposing a similar idea, there were calls for him to be introduced to a P45. ————— The future of upstream oil and gas development in the North Sea is no longer clear. The policy of maximising economic recovery has now been counterbalanced by the UK Government's 2050 net zero target. But while renewables account for a rapidly growing slice of the energy mix, oil and gas demand continues to grow, on the back of the post-Covid economic boom. On September 6, Energy Voice will host Future North Sea 2021, a virtual conference that will help you understand the challenges, and answer the questions raised by this tension between energy provision and climate action. Bringing together experts from across the sector, Future North Sea 2021 will showcase three sessions focusing on Net-Zero Production, Decommissioning, and M&A, all designed to provide your business with the innovative solutions, strategies and products required to thrive in the North Sea of the future. Join the conversation on September 6, 2021. Register for free at https://FNS2021.co.uk ————— Energy Voice, in association with Deloitte, Fasken and Costain, is also delighted to present a virtual event series that digs deeper into the prospects for hydrogen in order to separate the hard facts from the hype. Register today to hear from the experts and join the conversation about hydrogen's future role in the global energy system at trackinghydrogen.com ————— Energy Voice helps organisations understand the geopolitical, economic and financial factors that underpin market events, and give you a view on what's coming over the horizon. We're back!!!! (Imagine Aerosmith's 'Back in the Saddle Again' playing in the background. It'll help). Returning after a brief Easter Break to deal with life, Covid, the Universe and Everything, Broken Oars Podcast returns with its twentieth official episode (or 22cnd in total if we're including our one-off specials). And have we got a guest for you? Well, of course we have otherwise it would just be your genial hosts (the tall, posh Southern one and the short, oppressed Northern one) picking a subject and running it wildly off the rails. Some artists (bands, groups, writers, movie-makers - pick your own poison here) can be variable in quality. For every Appetite For Destruction, there is, unfortunately, often a G n R Lies EP that should never have seen the light of day. After our last episode with Eric Murray and an outstanding run of exceptional guests, it would have been easy for us to put our feet up and do the 'What Dog Breed Would You Put In What Seats In An Eight' Episode. Not us. In the episode, you will find to your delight and delectation that our commitment to making each stroke as good as it can be (little rowing metaphor for you there) remains far more in place than it ever was at the end of long outings when scallies were shooting us with air-rifles. In this episode, you will find the Posh Southern One giving the Northern One his P45; the Northern one will find that a stutter that he thought he'd successfully dealt with in his teenage years has returned, making him sound like he's being remixed by DJ EZ Rock; and the Southern One admitting that his day job involves being a character in Middle Earth. Luckily, though, our guest Tim Morris rides to the rescue and brings wisdom to the party. We chat about his trajectory through rowing from his earliest days as cox through to his coaching roles now, the development of the sport in that time, rowing as a toolkit for life, race strategies, composite boats and blades, how sport can develop your personality and your personality can find an expression in sport that serves in everything else you go on to do, and the future of the sport in the UK. Designed as a rowing podcast for the people by the people, this is a Broken Oars Podcast of the first rank. We've been incredibly lucky with all of our guests, and Tim is no exception. With him, as with everyone else, what's clear is that when you get rowers together, what we love to do is talk about this amazing sport of ours. And it's out in time for the weekend!? GET SOME! Bowside? Strokeside? You were told this was a tidal river. You were told to bring wellies. None of you did. We will leave you stuck in this mud as a warning to others. Bow, stop crying. You brought it on yourself.

Within Episode 22 of Mini Logic, Zeno dissects the sacking of Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard earlier this week, and provides his perspective on whether he should have been given his P45, or not. By the way, it WAS Episode 2 where Chelsea's transfers were being discussed! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/zfl/message
More Lampard woes splits the Chelsea fanbase, does he need more time or is it time to issue his P45. Who will take on Chelsea if the sack does come? United are back on top with Pogba the man in form. Are United really in a title race? A Liverpool record is finally broken by Burnley, what's wrong and will Klopp's men bounce back, at least we all know he's rattled after his tunnel spat with Sean Dyche

I talk to fellow trickster, Britains Greatest Hoaxer and stand up comedian Simon Brodkin - originally known for Lee Nelson's Well Good Show on BBC Three, he's now infamous for handing Theresa May a P45 during her flagship speech, showering Sepp Blatter with bank notes (that he made sure I knew were real), painting BHS Destroyer on the side of Phillip Green's yacht and jumping on stage with Kanye. He's put that all to one-side for now though, and is presenting himself totally raw. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Today we are shifting gears from the Old Testament to the New Testament, from Hebrew manuscripts to Greek ones. We’ll begin with the earliest evidence for the Greek New Testament, the papyri. On today's Bible Answer Man broadcast from (03/20/20), we pick up where we ended on our previous broadcast and present more of an episode of the Hank Unplugged podcast. Hank is talking with Dr. Craig Evans, Distinguished Professor of Christian Origins at Houston Baptist University and a featured scholar in the documentary film, Fragments of Truth: Ancient Documents, New Discoveries. https://www.equip.org/product/cri-resource-cri2003hup/Hank and Dr. Evans discuss the mistake of taking the Bible for granted, P45—the most ancient collection of all four Gospels, if the late dating of many New Testament biblical scholars is arbitrary or biased, the eyewitness testimony of biblical authors, and viewing the life of Christ using extra-biblical historical accounts.
Can we trust the Bible? The Christian faith is firmly rooted in the teachings of the New Testament—but can we really trust the Bible? Skeptics will tell you that the authenticity of the Bible cannot be trusted, arguing that the Gospel manuscripts have been doctored to push a theological agenda. Dr. Craig Evans joins Hank to discuss his film Fragments of Truthhttps://www.equip.org/product/cri-resource-cri2003hup/ , which could be faith-saving for the many thousands of believers who have been caused to doubt their faith due to illegitimate and inaccurate claims concerning biblical authority and accuracy.Topics discussed include: Can we trust the Bible? (7:30); how archeology supports the authenticity of biblical narratives (8:50); how Misquoting Jesus inspired Dr. Craig Evans to correct Bart Ehrman's misrepresentations of biblical manuscripts (13:30); is the claim by Bart Ehrman that the Bible has been altered true? (15:55); the problem of historical and biblical illiteracy (18:45); how did Jesus teach his disciples to communicate? (24:30); the two sides of Bart Ehrman (27:45); how long were the original manuscripts (autographs) of the Bible kept in circulation? (30:10); the difference between papyrus and parchment and how they were used for biblical manuscripts (35:05); the significance of the early fragments of the New Testament such as P52 (an early fragment from the Gospel of John) and the mistake of taking the Bible for granted (40:10); P45, the most ancient collection of all four Gospels (48:05); is the late dating of many New Testament biblical scholars arbitrary or biased? (55:30); the eyewitness testimony of biblical authors (57:45); viewing the life of Christ using extrabiblical historical accounts (1:01:10); the science of textual criticism and the process of dating ancient manuscripts (1:04:10); textual variants and their frequencies (1:07:25); the etymology of the term autograph, literally meaning written by himself (1:11:20); the discipline of textual criticism (1:16:00); how do we know that the four Gospels were actually written by Mathew, Mark, Luke and John? (1:16:50); what is a gloss? (1:19:50); addressing the long ending of Mark (1:22:35); the longer ending to the Lord's Prayer (1:29:00); addressing examples of agraphons (1:30:25); the canon of Scripture (1:32:15); is it possible for a rogue scribe to have substantially changed the New Testament? (1:35:15); the myth that the Emperor Constantine picked the books of the biblical canon as pushed by popular authors like Dan Brown in The Da Vinci Code (1:36:30); the importance of The Dead Sea Scrolls (1:38:35).To learn more about the DVD Fragments of Truth–Can We Trust the Bible? for your partnering gift please click here. https://www.equip.org/product/cri-resource-cri2003hup/ Listen to Hank's podcast and follow Hank off the grid where he is joined by some of the brightest minds discussing topics you care about. Simon Brodkin is a comedian, performer and renowned prankster. Best known for his character Lee Nelson, which had several series broadcast on BBC 2, and more recently his high profile stunts which has seen Simon give Theresa May a P45 and gatecrash a Fifa press conference to throw money at Sepp Blatter. We met with Simon in Old Street a day or two ahead of his new stand-up tour, his first as himself. We discussed the process and differences this has been to doing character comedy shows and how it has been a freeing experience.Simon tells us about those times in the early days when playing tricks didn't always go to plan and his years working as a junior doctor before launching a career in comedy.Simon was on top form and sharply dissected Giles and Jim's patter throughout, leaving us, quite rightly, flustered and in fits of laughter. I'm not sure how the Royals have missed the Queen's memo of 'never complain never explain', because it feels like that's all they're doing these days.We have Harry and Meghan's endless complaints about royal life and how hard it is and their subsequent suing of the British press, and now we have the train wreck that is Prince Andrew. His ill-advised interview with the BBC was actually referred to by monarchist and royals fan Charlie Proctor as a train wreck. Iin fact he tweeted, 'I expected a train wreck. That was a plane crashing into an oil tanker, causing a tsunami, triggering a nuclear explosion level bad.’.Comedian Dom Joly described the interview as 'a worse car crash than getting a lift home from Prince Philip'.There were deep concerns Prince Andrew never showed concern for Epstein's victims.Concerns about his unusual alibi of being out at Pizza Express with his daughter therefore unable to have been with Virginia Roberts on one of the dates she claims they had sex. Despite the well-publicised photo of them together, he claimed to have never met her.In one particularly bizarre moment, when the interviewer put it to him that Miss Roberts recalled very clearly dancing with him at a nightclub and how sweaty he was, he claimed to have a medical condition that prevented him from sweating that year.I mean, really? One person said, 'The Prince Andrew excuse: ''I couldn't have done the sweaty molesting because I wasn't sweating that year'' is absolutely astonishingly bad for an adult human.'Piers Morgan has called it desperate, toe-curling bulls*** from Prince Andrew. And he's asked the same question I have: why on earth did he do this? Royal commentator Dickie Arbiter said whoever advised this interview ought to be collecting their P45.That's the bit I just don't get: on what planet did he think any good could come from an hour long sit down with a BBC reporter giving you a forensic grilling? It's insanity. It flies right in the face of the Queen's 'never explain' rule, and actually is living proof explaining can often make things worse. And why is he talking to the media and not the Police? Why isn't he telling them what he knows instead of a television audience? And this is what I mean about where the royals heads are at right now, too much concern about the court of public opinion, too much being played out in the media, not enough behind closed doors.I'm just not sure who’s advising them that all this talking to the press, doing documentaries and interviews, complaining about their lot, suing the press when the reportage is unfavourable, is a good idea. It's all a bit knee jerk and mainstream, and doesn't feel very Royal at all.

Emma and Tom are joined by Sally Bethell, Senior Lecturer in PGCE Secondary PE, to discuss the five recommendations at the end of Lucy Crehan's book Cleverlands, in which the intrepid author gets on a plane to find out what lessons can be learned from five countries whose education systems are routinely held up as examples of excellent practice. The final chapter of the book distils everything Crehan learned on her travels into five principles that she feels underly excellent and equitable systems for the education of young people, and Emma, Tom and Sally have plenty to say about these - especially Tom, who is in particularly controversial mood and is now awaiting the arrival of his P45 in the post. The three regular slots - wellbeing, shoutout and something to try - get a whole new level of challenge when Emma and Tom decide to try recording them remotely: Tom's in Cardiff Met and Emma's at home with her dog, meaning that the whole thing takes place without the benefit of eye contact - and with slightly lower sound quality than we've become used to! Tom's got another good reason to go for tea with your colleagues: so you can make them your friends. Emma, meanwhile, combines the shoutout and something to try slots into a comprehensive explanation of live modelling as it applies to extended writing, and how Georgina Saunders, an English student teacher on the Teach First programme, used this to impressive effect in a lesson observation.
Join Ed Noelmonds (Eion) as GSITM and the P45 bring you Brexit or No Brexit! Where do your favourite footballing personalities land on Brexit? Is Gary Megson a Remoaner? Does Craig Bellamy think the common fisheries policy is a scam? Does Mike Dean have a clue about this? Find out here...
New year, same old P45. The boys are back talking all about the FA Cup and why it's not really the prize everyone makes it out to be as well as... infinite lisps? Eion makes a wrestling comparison, Dean gets excited then sad about the Liverpool game and Bob gets attacked by his cat.
A huge chasm now exists between English football’s most successful clubs and it was exposed in all its glory at Anfield on Sunday as Liverpool swept aside sorry Manchester United. It took the Reds back to the top of the Premier League and it proved to be the final straw for the beleaguered United board as they sacked Jose Mourinho. But hours before Jose was handed his P45, Paul Wheelock caught up with the Daily Mirror’s David Maddock for our latest Verdict podcast.David is the Mirror’s Northern Football Correspondent and, having covered Liverpool since the 1990-91 season, he is well placed to comment on the Reds. And he assesses the win over United, the gulf in class between the clubs, and the difference between Jurgen Klopp and his now departed managerial rival.David also takes a broader look at Klopp’s influence, including how he has seemingly solved a midfield problem in the unexpected form of Fabinho, how he has evolved his tactics, and what he reckons is the Liverpool manager’s true genius. But will Klopp break with tradition and stay at Anfield longer than the seven years he remained with Mainz and Borussia Dortmund? David gives his opinion on that and whether he thinks this is the Reds team best-equipped to win the title since 1990.The January transfer window and the Champions League draw with Bayern Munich are also discussed before the podcast rounds off with what David – and Robbie Fowler – believe has been a key shift in the championship race with Manchester City. A busy weekend as the North London Derby produces another classic, Mark Hughes collects another P45 and Jordan Pickford has a moment to forget. Particular highlights include the welcome return of Tim Sherwood embarrassing himself. There’s also the Scottish League Cup final, in December, further news of footballers egging innocent members of the public, and a very testing time for Partick Thistle. Most people get it: blunting climate breakdown means ditching fossil fuels. Which is inconvenient for the men and women who dig up, drill, refine, ship, burn, market or otherwise earn their living from those fuels. People with mortgages and kids and bills to pay. Tree-huggers like us may think a low carbon economy sounds just spiffing, but for a lot of people it probably sounds a like a P45. What do to? Does Spain have the answer? We chew this all over, including what's meant by the - it turns out - entirely straightforwardly termed 'just transition'. Also this week: guff from the UK's finance minister, and monumentally catastrophic 'everything's dying' news from animal world. Lolz. Sustainababble is your friendly environment podcast, out weekly. With the international break upon us, the P45 boys bring us the latest news in their own distinct way. With explosions, pizza adverts and kids, this is exactly what you don't want from your news. Hosted by Eion Smith with special reports from Bob Priestley and Dean Mannion. 'Anxiety' by Kai Engel is licensed under CC BY 4.0.
The transfer window has been kind to the P45 boys approaching deadline day: Eion's released a wisdom tooth but Bob's picked up two temperamental youngsters and Dean has got a hell of a freebie mic. They're previewing the Premier League season bringing glory to City and doom to pretty much anyone below Liverpool. Plus, Bob's cat has his say on Brighton's chances this season.
In part two of our special looking at political shows on the Edinburgh fringe, Matt Chorley is joined by Andrew Maxwell, who you'll know from Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week and Celebrity Mastermind. He is at the fringe with his show Shake a Leg.Lolly Jones, whose show Fifty Shades of May is a comedy/burlesque hybrid described as Downing Street on poppers, with a P45, suspenders, and a chunky metal necklace! And Fin Taylor tackles the politics of sex with his show When Harassy Met Sally. Ronnie Dog Media sent their intrepid reporter out to get a quick world exclusive with the P45's very own Scouser Dean Mannion. Dean gives us his thoughts on the season just gone; pre-season preparations and whether there will be any wheeling and dealing in the transfer window from the guys.
Eion's back in the hotseat so the P45 goes raw this week. You can feel like you're in the call with them and boy, do you wish you weren't. They talk taking Trent Alexander-Arnold to the park, SNP MP Mairi Black's tweets, Antti Niemi and t-shirts...
There's no Eion this week so Bob is the less than able deputy filling in and he opens with the worst intro in P45 history (can you guess who writes these descriptions?). He's joined by Dean and Dave as Dave drops out halfway through; Dean drinks a beer and Bob answers the door. They're also mentioning the World Cup too...
With Francine Stock. Nora Twomey, director of The Breadwinner, explains how an animation about life under the Taliban in Afghanistan was produced by Angelina Jolie and made in Kilkenny Olivia Hetreed is president of the Writers Guild Of Great Britain that published a report this week which revealed that only 16% of screenwriters are female. She crunches the figures with Francine, and discusses the moment she woke up one day and wondered "where have all the women gone ?". She reveals why she has been stereotyped as a writer who specializes in costume dramas after penning the adaptation of Girl With The Pearl Earring, and why she would really love to write science fiction. Perfume expert and film writer Dariush Alavi detects the scent of film noir in his olfactory history of the movies and reveals what Barbara Stanwyck might be wearing in Double Indemnity to tempt Fred MacMurray. Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller joined an illustrious club when they were removed from the production of the latest Star Wars spin-off, Solo. Five directors, for instance, left the helm of The Wizard Of Oz, with Victor Fleming taking the ultimate credit. Larushka Ivan-Zadeh takes us through some of the famous names who were handed their P45,and reveals the contents of the lesser-known Eastwood Rule, named after Clint Eastwood.
So with the news that Arsenal are set to appoint Unai Emery, will he be the man to bring success back to the club? Both Big Sam and David Moyes handed their P45's and have both already been replaced pretty much with Pellagrini heading to West Ham and Marco Silva looking the most likely to take over at Everton. This week we are also joined by Tom King for him to have a go at our Home & Away game, how will he get on? With Tom formerly being a host on the show, we each made predictions at the beginning of the season so it's the perfect time to review those! What on earth were we thinking!? If you would like to get in touch to send us some questions to read out and answer on the show, recommend any games you'd like us to feature or even just to tell us how bad our opinions are you can do so by tweeting us https://twitter.com/footiefoundry Or facebook us https://www.facebook.com/FootieFoundry TheFootballFoundry.com Also, be sure to give our partners The Beautiful Game Network some love by following them on Twitter @TheBGNfm and finally a huge thanks to our sponsor Ruffneck Scarves, the official scarf supplier of MLS, USL, and US Soccer. Get custom scarves for your team at RuffneckScarves.com
With absolutely nothing to play for on the final day, the boys have begun their fifteen weeks of season review shows. Who is a 2018 Salif Diao? Who wins the P45 award? Will Burnley Brexit their way to European glory? All this & more...
It's the debut of episode of The P45 which is totally original and not similar to anything at all. Host Eion Smith (@LongBallFoot) is joined by Bob Priestley (@BobJPriestley) and Dean Mannion (@Dean_Man7) to discuss the week's big news: the chronology of Sunderland managers. Plus there's loads on some French boy handing his notice in and an English teenager abroad
Concerning semantically vague Facebook puzzles, the best way to annoy P45 with food and our favourite Bromley memories...
Few words can really do justice in trying to explain how bad Saints were at Newcastle. From ‘number 1 to number 11’ it was simply shambolic and effortless. They let the entire Football Club down and, with pressure already building, may well have assisted in another Premier League manager being given his P45. Whether that does happen or not, only time were tell. In Total Saints Podcast Episode 28, Adam Leitch (Chief Sports Writer at the Daily Echo) joins Ben Stanfield (Host), to give a very honest assessment of what he saw at St. James Park – and it wasn’t pretty! Games are rapidly running out for Saints but, despite only 1 win in 17 Premier League games now, they remarkably still find themselves outside the relegation zone. Next up for them its Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup. Adam and Ben are joined by Barry Worthington, a Wigan fan and host of their Progress With Unity Podcast. Can Saints reach Wembley to ease some of the pain from this season? Will Mauricio Pellegrino be at the DW Stadium to lead them? As ever with Saints, it looks like it will be another rollercoaster week! Twitter: @totalsaintspod Facebook: www.facebook.com/totalsaintspod E-Mail: totalsaintspodcast@yahoo.com

Why aren't families looking after their elderly? Are people too selfish? Is it their fault or is it just not possible given the pressures of modern living and the fractured family networks in our instant gratification society. This is another symptom of social dysfunction from the corrosive farce of democracy and instant gratification where society thinks it's acceptable that a Prime Minister giving a seminal speach should be handed a P45 by a comedian. The main issue here is therefore one of the necessity for correct leadership and how too much autonomy is just a sign of a week leadership and the folly of political correctness that leads to John Lewis only stocking gender neutral toddler clothes. Unthinkable a year ago but unfortunately reality now. Therefore don't blame the people fix our leadership and fix society and people will always follow.

You know, it’s easy to forget, after the coughing and the comedian with the P45 and the bit where the sign started disintegrating, that there was a far bigger problem with Theresa May’s speech: it was bad. To be specific, the housing policies the prime minister unveiled yesterday were in no way an adequate response to the housing crisis – which, you’ll recall, is disadvantaging the young, holding back our productivity, and (though I don’t care so much about this part) wrecking the Conservative party’s electoral chances. It is in some ways May’s good luck that nobody will have been paying the slightest attention to the actual content of her speech, or they might have noticed quite how completely bloody useless it was. Anyway: this seemed like a good moment to drag Stephen Bush back into the podcasting basement to discuss all this. We cover the Conservative party’s long-standing failure to tackle this issue; our suggested solutions; and how exactly we can get rid of buy-to-let. All that, and you can learn about “the incident”, too. Skylines is the podcast from the New Statesman's cities site, CityMetric. It's hosted by Jonn Elledge. Theresa May delivered one of the most memorable speeches ever delivered at a party conference - for all the wrong reasons.Everything which could go wrong for the Prime Minister did go wrong. First, there was an interruption by a prankster who handed her a P45, Next she was brought low by a terrible cough that forced her to halt her speech on numerous occasions. Then to complete the humiliation the letters on the slogan behind her fell off while she was speaking.Mrs May won sympathy for soldiering on to the end but it was excruciating to watch. And her on stage agony meant it was difficult to concentrate on the substance of her speech. The Mirror's Jason Beattie, Kevin Maguire, Nicola Bartlett and Mikey Smith discuss the PM's calamitous address and what it means for her future and her fractious party. Under the storm clouds of P45, Attorney General Jeff Session and other rich white men in the Administration are attacking the human rights of people of color, immigrants and women. It’s time for socialists to rebuild a broad mass social movement not only to defend the basic human rights but also for social transformation.
It's a special episode of The Offside Rule (We Get It!) this week, as the trio of Lynsey Hooper, Kait Borsay and Hayley McQueen is back together! We're getting in the spirit of Christmas (sort of) by looking at Santa's sack race. No, it's not about the presents he's bringing, but rather a P45...who do we think will be the first manager to receive this lump of coal in their stocking? Bob Bradley and Alan Pardew naturally crop up, but what about the outsider who isn't fitting in to his new club? Now, it's annoying when friends show you up by sending Christmas cards at the beginning of December isn't it? What about when footballers or teams do the same - which team topped their table before crashing down to 6th? And which fans got ahead of themselves with a play-off pitch invasion? We've seen some dramatics recently - including big comebacks for Bournemouth and Swansea against Liverpool and Crystal Palace respectively - so we look at some of the best comebacks and on-pitch dramatics in recent years...are their any teams who've been involved more than others?
