From baked potatoes to pension raids, it's another rollercoaster week in the weird and woeful world of UK politics.Jemma and Marina pay tribute to the glorious Pauline Collins, salute a life well lived, and then plunge straight into the nation's latest highs and lows, including the latest (Not Prince) Andrew news. It involves a late night snack and what amounts to culinary catastrophe frankly.

Welcome to Eyes & Teeth – That's Showbiz the huge talents of actress Sian Reeves.I have just completed a fantastic contract in the capital city of Wales and it was a star studded Pantomime with Sports Star Gareth Thomas, Award winning Pop Star Ian ‘H' Watkins, Comedy and Vocal sensation Mike Doyle, Jazz performer Denquar Chupak amongst others and todays guest is just incredible to watch. Sian is constantly on television and if not in EastEnders, Coronation Street or Emmerdale, she is in the next drama Cutting It, Northern Lights, Hope Springs, Lunch Monkey and many many more. She has appeared in movies her latest sharing the screen with Pauline Collins and Joan Collins but most recently she starred with me in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the New Theatre Cardiff for the past 6 weeks. To watch Sian work closely throughout rehearsals and the full 4 week run was truly a gift. I have worked with actresses in pantomime and great ones and Sian is up there as possibly my favourite. She is so down to earth, fun and honest off stage and delivers the ultimate professional performance from wings to centre stage giving 110% every time. There were no mistakes, no late entrances, even up to the last show she was in her space going over her lines to perform them to the max. I loved watching her play Queen Lucretia even if every time she shouted for Muddles she was leaving as I was entering so we never really had dialogue until we chatted about crisps towards the end of the story but I clocked this ladies talent and respect her true honour to her art.She is absolutely brilliant so please welcome to the show Sian Reeves.
In this episode Pauline Collins, Partner Relations Manager of The Voerman Group discusses how she began her career 33 years ago in the International Moving market, starting in a Sales Support role at Anglo Pacific – Pauline too is a fellow lifer of this wonderful industry. The Voerman Group were founded in 1986, their headquarters are in The Hague, The Netherlands, and they have with locations in Moscow and Prague, service centres in Asia and the United States, and affiliations with companies in a variety of locations across the globe. The Voerman Group while predominantly international movers, also provide private and trade groupage solutions, commercial moving, and insurance solutions. Pauline hasn't had any great personal challenges to overcome, which she puts down to working with some truly great people, Sarah Rowlands, Paul Evans, Jack Dorrington, Nick Kerr, to name but a few, who supported and encouraged her to be the best version of herself. For the industry, the challenge is identifying and retaining talent. The one thing Pauline would like to change from her past, and it is only a small regret, is that she didn't take opportunities to work overseas. Pauline's highpoint of being within the industry is obviously being on Moving Matters! But, that aside, it's the opportunity to meet people from so many different countries and walks of life, who have become good friends, and being recognised for her ability to go above and beyond. Pauline would like the moving industry to become more sustainable, and I challenge Pauline on the rising costs borne to the customer to achieve this. Pauline would also like the industry to embrace technology more into our processes and thus stop being so traditional. Pauline's advice to just starting out in the industry is to be kind to herself, learn how to say no and that you don't have to rule the world at an early age. Also, be confident in yourself and voice your ideas. In the next 5 years, Pauline personally still sees herself at The Voerman Group and with the company being so diverse there are always opportunities within the group. For the industry Pauline hopes it will be more sustainable, and with shipment sizes shrinking companies will have to diversify, and continued consolidation of companies. Outside of the industry Pauline enjoys exercise, especially running having participated in triathlons and half marathons, but today is more for pleasure. Pauline has recently taken up Yoga, she enjoys eating out, is quite partial to the odd Gin & Tonic, and is part of a WI. And as always we end Moving Matters with a funny moving story regarding a pickup truck in Cape Town. Enjoy! It's 2022 and Andy and Alex celebrate the fact that its 30 years (30!) since The Tomb of the Cybermen was returned to the archives. Well they don't exactly celebrate this as I've only just worked it out for these episode notes but it's a neat milestone all the same. During proceedings Alex orders 'a bottle of a bottle', Andy fails to print his podcast notes, and a robin in a black cagoole causes a commotion. When it comes to talking Tomb, Andy pronounces Telos correctly and vociferously defends Victoria, Alex calmly explains why none of Doctor Who should be cancelled, and there's a long tale of Shirley Cooklin (Kaftan) getting a little pissed off at a funeral. Elsewhere, this month's quiz is ‘Tomb or Boom', RuPaul and (appropriately enough) The Beatles feature on the Time-Space Visualiser, and there's even a little contemporary Flux-based discussion. More importantly than any of the above neither Alex of Andy are wearing orange underwear as they will explain! The more knowledgeable Who fans will realise that I get the Denise Buckley story wrong. In fact, Alex is dead right that the re-casting of Victoria was to do with Pauline Collins. Oh well. Not quite seamless in post. Happy New Year to you our lovely listeners. Next Time: Probably a McCoy. (This episode's opening words are from the prologue of Gerry Davis's novelisation of Tomb)

Alex and Andy watch the partially lost Troughton adventure The Faceless Ones. While Andy realises that there's more to this story than crouching beside aircraft wheels, Alex cottons on that this isn't Ben's first story! Although they find much to enjoy here: Pauline Collins, the postcard plot, and clappy music to name just three, Ales and Andy admit to being confused by the Chameleons plan, but are pleased that one of them at least gets to visit Dubrovnik and other European cities in order to pursue their dastardly goals. Kilts are discussed in some detail and there are tangential excursions to the BSB Doctor Who Weekend, BDO World Darts, Dimensions in Time and Upstairs Downstairs. In the quiz Alex has to guess Gold or Silver, while the Time-Space Visualiser offers The Motors and Deacon Blue on its teeny tiny black and white screen. Although they both watched different formats of the story ahead of this podcast the pair still put out a call for yet another format: the bananimated version - where bananas replace the cast. Who wouldn't want to see that?! Next Time: Something Hartnell this way comes (William not Norman).

We watched two episodes from Doctor Who series 2 (2006), “New Earth” and “Tooth and Claw,” on August 11, 2019. The blobfish that Riley talked about actually does look a bit like the Face of Boe! And this quote: “The sad face of the blobfish belies a kind and very wise little brain in there.” - just replace two words, and you could be talking about the Face of Boe. Also, Pauline Collins played Queen Victoria in “Tooth and Claw.” Leave a comment! Or, send us suggestions (that are appropriate for a 10-year old) at wereact677@gmail.com. Join our Facebook group! It doesnt get any better than when a new episode of your favourite podcast about the tales of the unexpected lands... said only 2 people. or maybe 4 or 11... whatever we love doing it and today we welcome back Joan Collins in another saucy role. And lets not forget of course, we're back on location and in the legendary Savoy after last weeks mix up. dont worry taxpayers, we only stayed in the lobby. this episode is a bit sexy in parts, has some revenge of sorts, a bit of laughter and proper unexpected ending. But as usual, we litter some chat about that fella from bargain hunt, talk about phrases that are truly incomprehensible (unless you're a douchebag from jeremy kyle's show) AND listen to rob deliver us some reggae. It's worth it for that alone... enjoy.
This time out we take a look at the David Tennant episode Tooth and Claw where the Doctor and Rose meet the Queen and a Werewolf. Hey Sprinklerz! I hope you are ready for a tangent filled ride of great recommendations!!! My friend Cicely sits in the co-host chair as we talk about one of our all time favorites shows; BLEAK HOUSE (Amazon Prime/Hulu) Which is a stunning 2005, eight part miniseries rendition of the Charles Dickens's novel of the same name. It is chock full of an amazing cast of characters played by a cadre of incredible actors/actresses (Including: Gillian Anderson, Carey Mulligan, Anna Maxwell, Charles Dance, Burn Gorman, Pauline Collins, Nathaniel Parker and on and on and on!) Intricate storylines with unpredictable plot twists will leave you breathless. Then we try to convince you to watch the Netflix original, THE O.A. It is such a creative and original show but due to unique and at times complicated characters you may have a hard time getting into it but once you do you will love it! It's wonderfully mysterious and it will have you guessing the whole way through. Definitely unlike any other show anywhere. And finally Cicely shares her tasty-treat-sensation which is Hershey's Cookie Layer Crunch Mint. It was so good she eat it on her way over and just brought the wrapper to remind her of the name, hahahahaha (Sad but true.) In today's episode we could not help ourselves and end up talking about another three shows: Inspector Lynley Mysteries (TV Series, 2001-2008): Based on the books by Elizabeth George,. This Murder Mystery series staring Nathaniel Parker and Sharon Small is sadly not currently on any streaming service. Pacific Rim. (2013 Movie) Monsters vs Robots fun! This lighthearted monster flick is not to be missed by those looking for a high-octane monster smashing adventure! Unfortunately it is not on any streaming service, but plays often on cable TV. Ladies in Lavender (2005, Movie) Staring Judi Dench and Maggie Smith set in the 1930s, Dench and Smith play sisters who rescue a Polish Violinist who washes ashore and ends up changing their mundane lives. Enchanting and endearing. Not in streaming source but can be rented or bought on Amazon.
