They were not railway children to begin with. I don't suppose they had ever thought about railways except as a means of getting to Maskelyne and Cook's, the Pantomime, Zoological Gardens, and Madame Tussaud's.

This week, Nigel and Tazziii set sail into One Piece Season 2 (from 26:11), joined by our crew of guests Dom Shaw, Lao K and Louise Karunwi. It's a wide‑ranging discussion with some views you might not expect, as we get into how faithful the live‑action adaptation feels, what changes land (and which ones don't), and whether a story this big can ever truly make the leap to live action. We also dig into the places we visit, the colourful costume work, and the themes Season 2 brings to life, pulling out what's working and what still feels like it's finding its sea legs.Other stories we're enjoying include: Go For It, Nakamura! KING'S SPEECH SICK PANTOMIME: Starmer Defeated | Kemi on Fire! #JonGaunt #jongauntTV #live #KingsSpeech #Starmer #KemiBadenoch #NigelFarage #UKPolitics #GeneralElection What we witnessed today in the House of Commons wasn't a serious plan for the country—it was pure, unadulterated pantomime. A sick, useless waste of time that ignores the reality on our streets. Keir Starmer looks like a man who won't even be in charge by the end of the week, let alone the end of the year. He's a squatter in Downing Street, presiding over a list of promises that we all know will never happen. The whole circus should have been cancelled. While Kemi Badenoch was absolutely on fire today, it's clear what the British public actually wants: REAL change. Not the scripted theatre of the main parties, but the actual agenda being set by Nigel Farage. He's the one speaking for the people while the "panto" season drags on in Westminster. It's time to cut the nonsense short. Starmer is finished. We need a General Election, and we need it NOW. What did YOU think of the King's Speech? Was it a farce or a future? Let's get stuck in—have your say in the comments below!
It's still, still - STILL! - on. A comprehensive never in doubt (sort of) 3 points against play off rivals. A two week break to bring back some of the walking wounded. Authentic, endearing celebrations. What a time to be an Argyle fan. Tom is joined by Chris and Dan to start with hot off the press news of a huge win for the Argyle women's team. Only 1980s ‘watch on teletext' vibes to go on but a huge win for an over performing team. Long may it continue. Back to Saturday's action, there is a sense of confidence on and off the field despite multiple missing players, a makeshift midfield and even after an against the run of play goal. A goal down approaching half time and an injury to the opposition keeper provides a catalyst for a huge second half. There is praise for an Owen Dale tracer bullet, a dubious but we'll take it penalty, and a goalkeeping error and the chance for many more. A fluid formation, competent performances across the field, goals, chances, heroic defending when needed all with the 95/96 team in attendance made for a wonderful afternoon in the sun. With no game for two weeks, there is a focus on the ongoing rebirth of a squad - performance, culture and results - and huge sympathy for the returning Bali Mumba who seemed visibly upset by the reception he received on his return. Credit to the club and first team for seeing beyond the vitriol and providing comfort. Pantomime boos okay, but let's try and remember the good times shall we?Enjoy the break, see you again in April. PMQ'S is a pantomime, Starmer is a clown and Speaker needs the sack. #JonGaunt #JonGauntTV #LIVE #Starmer #PMQs #PMQs #LyndsayHoyle #PeterMandelson #UKPolitics Prime Minister Questions was a disgrace yesterday. STARMER refused to answer questions about Mandelson and the SPEAKER was useless as he let him get away with it. Sack him. Democracy my ARSE! It is completely Outrageous behaviour that Starmer refused to answer any questions on whether he spoke to Mandelson about Epstein before he was appointed to be Ambassador for the USA.. What is he afraid of? It all stinks of a cover up and the Speaker should have intervened What's the point of the Speaker of the House if he doesn't make Keir Starmer answer the bloody questions on Mandelson? It's a pantomime. What is Starmer so petrified of that makes him refuse to answer questions about Mandelson? What could he be hiding? New underwear for PM?! Alex Ranahan on Being More Childlike and Living in the PresentBarton talks with Bristol-based virtual event emcee, presenter, and actor Alex Ranahan about what matters to him right now: reconnecting to the present moment instead of constantly chasing the next goal. Alex shares how social media and online advice can turn self-improvement into pressure and comparison, and suggests scrapping the idea of a life “journey” in favor of gratitude, appreciation, and measuring progress by how you feel and how your perspective has shifted over time. In the speed round, Alex says AI matters as a tool that extends capability, along with dogs, pantomime, social media (as a tool, not a replacement), the USA, mental health, paper books, and travel, while skipping the Epstein files and driverless cars.02:59 Escaping Comparison Culture04:43 Scrap the Journey Mindset06:05 Gratitude in the Now06:58 Reflecting Without Regret09:21 Speed Round Begins09:40 AI and Dogs10:59 Pantomime and Social Media13:23 Mental Health and Books15:19 Travel and Wonder16:38 Where to Find Alex17:03 Closing ThanksThis podcast is brought to you by Matters.com. On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin became the first man in space — but two brothers in Italy had already recorded transmissions from Soviet spacecraft that were never supposed to exist. | #WDRadio WEEK OF DEC 07, 2025==========HOUR ONE: Did lost cosmonauts make it into space before Yuri Gagarin? (The Tombs in Space) *** Don't take a gift from Gracie Watson's grave... or her life-like statue might cry tears of blood. (Gracie's Ghost) *** Did Bonnie Scott run away? Was she kidnapped? Murdered perhaps? All anyone knew was that no one had a clue where she was. She had simply disappeared without a trace. (The Murder of Bonnie Leigh Scott) *** A latchkey kid comes home to an empty house… or so they thought until they heard footsteps in another room. (The Laundry Room)==========HOUR TWO: Just because the Ouija board is made by a board game manufacturer does not mean it should be treated like a toy – as many have discovered. *** The similar game, Charlie Charlie seems more innocent – but is so dangerous that in one school where children were playing it, they had to call in an exorcist. *** And you never know when playing any of these types of games what kind of spirit you might be inviting into our realm – but I can tell you this…. It's never good. They might pretend to be good, but that's far from the truth. And one particular demon has found notoriety through the Ouija board community, a demon you don't want to risk opening a door for. It's name is Zozo.==========SUDDEN DEATH OVERTIME: People often encounter strange and frightening things when they experience sleep paralysis – but in one particular story, the horrors began well before going to bed. (Sleep Paralysis in Bangkok) *** Samuel Joselyn was buried in 1810 in a North Carolina cemetery. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that Samuel was actually DEAD at the time of his burial! (Buried Alive in Wilmington) *** in 1894 Rosa Lochner was a witness to murder, but she had been deaf since birth and her spoken vocabulary was limited. So how could she testify against the accused? (Murder In Pantomime) *** A boy wakes to find his previously closed curtains now open – and the only explanation involves a previous resident of the house he's now living in. (Strange Manifestations) *** Mention the word “Chupacabra” and most people will think of a strange, hairless dog-like animal. They are never described as having the ability to fly… until now. (Winged Chupacabras) *** These UFOs aren't shiny metallic discs or cigar-shaped spaceships. They are humanoid – and they fly without the help of a jetpack, wings, cape or even a broom to sit on. And the sightings are still coming in all throughout Mexico. (The Flying Humanoids of Mexico) *** The North Carolina Cherokee have a story about how dangerous it can be even near a calm river – where the waters can suddenly foam and a giant beast can appear on the rocks. (James and the Giant Leech) *** Supernatural women, shadowy men, odd animal sightings, and more… they can all be found at late-night truck stops if you're not careful. Sound, performance, and the body come together in this Footnote episode discussing pantomime as an entertainment spectacle, as Chris and Alex seek to map the possible connections between pantomime as a popular theatrical tradition emerging in the 17th century and both animation's own technologies and representations and legacies of fantasy. Topics include classical antiquity, gesture, and choric dramas; European precursors like commedia dell'arte and féerie stories; the invested interest by early animation scholarship in the medium's multiple genealogies and the role of pantomime in defining animated points of origin; and how the self-reflexive staging and gestures of pantomime came to influence the different visual and comedy stylings of cartoon storytelling. **Fantasy/Animation theme tune composed by Francisca Araujo** **As featured on Feedspot's 25 Best London Education Podcasts**

HOUR ONE: Just because the Ouija board is made by a board game manufacturer does not mean it should be treated like a toy – as many have discovered.
