Christoper Walken's performance is sooo good! And KUDOS to Patricia Arquette. But wait there's more, Only Murders in the Building  is back with Season 2 (HULU) and is just as wonderful as Season 1! It tackles some very serious and intense issues all the while keeping you in suspense and wanting more! The cast is full of Hollywood powerhouses, Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Meryll Streep, Nicole Kidman, and Zoë Kravitz who are all incredible. This is strictly a show for adults as it contains depictions of violence and nudity. (What HBO doesn't have violence and nudity?) It's very powerful and really one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. Then I rave on about FX's Pose! Season 1 is on NETFLIX, season 2 has already aired on FX and will apparently coming to NETFLIX sometime this year. The largest cast of Transgender actresses of any show to date. The cast is spectacular! Billy Porter is a scream and such a talent! India Moore is stunning. MJ Rodriguez will steal your heart! And Dominique Jackson is a modern day Joan Collins! Centered around late 1980s New York in the Ball scene which inspired one of Madonna's most famous songs Vogue. Contestants (many of whom were members of the LGBT community) walked runways to compete for trophies. The various themes were fascinating! The houses which is what they called various teams where often literally a collection of people who would live in one house under a "Mother" who would over see the house. Often these were cast-outs who were abandoned by their families because of them being LGBT. The series is set admit the AIDS epidemic. (See the fabulous and heartbreaking documentary, PARIS IS BURNING on NETFLIX to see what POSE is centered on). Pose will want you coming back for more. I recommended this to all my friends who were all so angry when they finished season 1 and realized season 2 is still not on NETFLIX yet. This is also an adults only show. For our Tasty-Treat-Sensation we have Popeye's New Fried Chicken Sandwich. It is incredible! Ever since I had it I have been craving it more and more! Both of today’s shows are creative and inventive! Starting with Prime original: FOREVER. Fred Amrisen (SNL, Portlandia) and Maya Rudolph (SNL, Bridesmaids) star in this very quirky, light and incredible different, original and engrossing comedy. And then I’m excited to tell you about the Hulu original: THE FIRST. Starting Sean Penn about a a team of astronauts preparing for a two year mission to Marsin which they risk their lives and leave behind their loved ones, some of whom’s ability to navigate life on their own is questionable. The first a suspenseful thriller staring Ben Wishaw (Bridgehead Revisited, 2008), Jim Broadbent (Moulin Rouge 2001, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince 2009) and Charlotte Rampling (Broadchurch, Series 2, 2015). It is an engaging, enthralling, keep you on your toes thriller that is surprisingly touching and emotional very deep. Not for the faint of heart. Graphic descriptions of sex, and visually disturbing scenes. Then I let you in on the fun fact that the British Mystery series Inspector Lewis has 10 seasons on Prime video. My all time favorite episode 4 is in Season 3. It's such a fun well crafted mystery and will let you know if you like the series. If you do you have plenty to binge! Hey Gang!!! Welcome to the 20th episode of Sprinklez! The podcast dedicated to bringing you recommendations of the best shows, movies and podcasts on available on streaming services. Today we start off is the Netflix original series, Babylon Berlin, with intensely beautiful sets, terrific acting and time appropriate costumes. This German television series is such a high calibre you think you're watching a long running movie (it is 16 episodes long, 45 min a piece). The story if set in between the two world wars in Berlin Germany where excess and poverty collide in a crescendo of intertwining plots. Recommended for those who love period pieces, dramas, thrillers but not for those triggers by violence, nudity or cruelty. Secondly, I recommend the amazingly true story documented in this original podcast entitled S-Town by the producers of This American Life and Serial. It plays out like a Tennessee Williams play, or a Flannery O'Connor short story, but this one is all true. The podcast become about the eccentrically fascinating John B. McLemore and the small souther town he reluctantly called home, in addition to the cast of real life characters who make up his real and adoptive family. Lastly, this week's Tasty Treat Sensation is Caffé Monster Energy Coffee, which is a delicious highly caffeinated beverage for those adults without medical concerns, pregnancy or the like.

My co-worker recommended two terrific shows that he and his wife love and you will too. First of we have the British murder mystery: THE FIVE (Netflix) which is a fun, suspenseful mystery, where a five year old disappeared twenty five years ago, after a police investigation a serial killer was caught and confessed to killing him. Fast forward to present day an one of the four friends is a police detective working on solving the murder of a woman where he collects DNA evidence when analyzed it matches the DNA of the missing five year old!!!! It's very clever and smart and surprising moving! Then we talk about the German show, DARK which is a Netflix original which is sort of a more serious Stranger Things mixed with Donny Darko. Its creepy and mysterious but the complex plot is very engaging as it is perplexing. Finally this episode's Tasty-Treat-Sensation is Taco Bell's XXL Grilled Stuft Burrito (Regular Chicken), Nachos and Cheese and Mountain Dew's Baja Blast-which is a mouth watering combo or salty sweet combination you are sure to love at 2am in the morning!

Which is an incredibly upbeat and slightly sanguine (yeah I had to look the meaning of that word up) fictional tale that is so engaging and at the same time joyously uplifting! It stars the fantastically creative Jacquelyn Landgraf (Who also writes and co-directs the episodes). Then I tell you about one of my all time favorite murder mystery shows of all time: THE KILLING. Which stars one of the best actresses on any size screen Mireille Enos (World War Z) and the immensely powerful acting of Joel Kinsman (Robocop/Suicide Squad). People have come back and thanked me for recommending this one. Beware it is very intense and touches on disturbing subject matter!! And last but certainly not least, I have this week's Tasty-Treat-Sesation is the Australian styled yoghurt, NOOSA. Which comes in a variety of sizes and flavors. Creamy and delicious!! (They have citrus flavors including Pineapple, and Blood Orange!) Tangents: Alice Isn't Dead. Also from Night Vale Presents is my favorite of all their podcasts, about a female trucker played by Jasika Nicole (Fringe) in search of her missing wife. It's a little sci-fi a lot of fun. The Family (Amazon, for purchase/rent only. Not on Prime) Staring Joan Allen (Nixon), Rupert Graves (A Room With a View), Andrew McCarthy (Pretty in Pink) starts out as a great thriller mystery but gets tied up in unseemly and unnecessary plot lines. Worth watching for the performances and if you can imagine what could have been a really good is he/isn't he an imposter show.

It has a cursing clown (Don't worry, it's censored), plumber's dressed as pigeons, and enough puzzles to keep you guessing for hours. (PS it's set in 1987-what more could you ask for?) I then recommend the 1997 Don Bluth cartoon musical, ANASTASIA (NETFLIX) starring non-other than Meg Ryan, John Cusack, Kelsey Grammar and Angela-Frickin-Lansbury!! My first recommendation is the incredible 2014 film, MAN FROM RENO (Netflix). Set in and around San Francisco this mystery weaves together two seemingly disparate stories into a terrific modern mystery with the classic elements of a traditional film noir thriller. Then I talk about one of the most famous fictional detectives of all time, Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot in the British television series, POIROT. Season 7-13 is now available on Netflix. I let you in on some of particular favorite episodes including; After the Funeral, Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile, and Murder in Mesopotamia. You are in for the entertainment recommendation of your life when I talk about the NPR radio show/podcast: THIS AMERICAN LIFE. It has both real life and fictional stories by some of the best journalists and authors of today (David Sedaris, David Rakoff, Sarah Vowell, etc). One of my favorite episodes in the This American Life cannon is the mysterious and true story, THE GHOST OF BOBBY DUNBAR (Ep.#352). It is enthralling suspense story!!! Then I fill you in on PBS's 2002 amazing and enthrallingly educational series MANOR HOUSE (Amazone Prime) which is full of Downton Abby type period drama with a reality show twist. A group of regular people live in a 1906 Manor House for three months living out the roles of either a privileged family or their dutiful servants. It s an Edwardian social experiment gone awry! Hey Sprinklerz! Today's another "Favorites" episode of Sprinklez where I talk about two of my all-time-faves: Fox's WAYWARD PINES (Season 1 & 2 are on Hulu) and Disney's GRAVITY FALLS (Season 1 & 2 are on Hulu). WAYWARD PINES is a fantastic and mysterious thriller set in the too-perfect town of Wayward Pines nestled in the forest of the American North West. Executive producer M. Night Shyamalan brings us a fast paced, plot twisting story pulled from the pages of the trilogy of books by author Blake Crouch entitled; Pines (2012); Wayward (2013); and The Last Town(2014). I rave on about the amazing cast and despite watching countless YouTube videos on the matter, I still totally mess up Siobhan Fallon Hogan's name (It's pronounced Shavon, who knew? Sadly, not me.) She is amazingly funny and endearing in this show. Then I almost burst with excitement about Disney's GRAVITY FALLS which is cartoon-cuteness overload. Set again in the mysterious northwest it features a set of twins, Mabel and Dipper Pines as they arrive at their Grunkle Stan's house for the summer. His home doubles as a Mystery Shack which is a tourist trap full off oddities. The siblings find themselves solving one puzzling mystery after another while encountering the adorably-weird mythical creatures of the forest. Cannot say enough about this show!! Smart, funny, charming. Last but not least I tell you why you need Nestlé's CHUNKY candy bar in your life!!! Tangents: The Village (For rent or purchase on Amazon Prime Video) One of my Favorite M. It's a time for relaxing, eating ice cream treats and watching lighter shows on tv. My first pick is the addictive obstacle competition called "ULTIMATE BEASTMASTER" which is a Netflix original series with contestants from six different countries compete for the title of, you guessed it: Ultimate Beastmaster! Then I simply adore Fox's the long running dance competition show "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?" Which is chock full of incredible dancers, choreography and music to lift anyone's spirits. I try to convince you that PROJECT RUNWAY ALL STARS is worthy of your summer tv show lists. It may be seen by many of you aa the red-headed step child of it's more popular older sister, Project Runway but it is just as entertaining and full of magnificent creativity and the typical drama you have come to expect with scissor wielding fashion designers! My friend Cicely sits in the co-host chair as we talk about one of our all time favorites shows; BLEAK HOUSE (Amazon Prime/Hulu) Which is a stunning 2005, eight part miniseries rendition of the Charles Dickens's novel of the same name. It is chock full of an amazing cast of characters played by a cadre of incredible actors/actresses (Including: Gillian Anderson, Carey Mulligan, Anna Maxwell, Charles Dance, Burn Gorman, Pauline Collins, Nathaniel Parker and on and on and on!) Intricate storylines with unpredictable plot twists will leave you breathless. Then we try to convince you to watch the Netflix original, THE O.A. It is such a creative and original show but due to unique and at times complicated characters you may have a hard time getting into it but once you do you will love it! It's wonderfully mysterious and it will have you guessing the whole way through. Definitely unlike any other show anywhere. And finally Cicely shares her tasty-treat-sensation which is Hershey's Cookie Layer Crunch Mint. It was so good she eat it on her way over and just brought the wrapper to remind her of the name, hahahahaha (Sad but true.) In today's episode we could not help ourselves and end up talking about another three shows: Inspector Lynley Mysteries (TV Series, 2001-2008): Based on the books by Elizabeth George,. This Murder Mystery series staring Nathaniel Parker and Sharon Small is sadly not currently on any streaming service. Pacific Rim. (2013 Movie) Monsters vs Robots fun! This lighthearted monster flick is not to be missed by those looking for a high-octane monster smashing adventure! Unfortunately it is not on any streaming service, but plays often on cable TV. Ladies in Lavender (2005, Movie) Staring Judi Dench and Maggie Smith set in the 1930s, Dench and Smith play sisters who rescue a Polish Violinist who washes ashore and ends up changing their mundane lives. Konichiwa Sprinklerz! In today's episode of Sprinklez I am in love with Netflix's "SENSE8" which is a surprisingly touching action show filled with an amazingly diverse cast of characters. Despite being an action show (which I tend not to like) it is heavy on the plot and has a basic simple message of love, acceptance and a spirit of "If we work together we can solve any problem we are faced with." Uplifting and exciting, I highly recommend it! Then I talk about the ABC show "AMERICAN CRIME" (Season 1, 2 & 3 On Netflix) which has an amazing cast. Each season there is a new crime and subsequent trial set in different parts of the country, but they use the same cast, so each season the actors are playing entirely new roles. Such an inventive idea and so fun to see them each in their new role. Please note it is a serious and heavy show tackling very real issues our culture is facing. Last but not least I talk about one of my favorite desserts of all time: Hostess Cherry Pies.
