Pipe Dreams Podcast is back for Episode 27 with Peter Hickman, one of the fastest road racers in the world and a dominant force in the Isle of Man TT. Growing up around motorcycles with a father who was a racer himself, Hickman's journey into professional racing seemed almost inevitable. He made his British Superbike Championship debut in 2004 and quickly became known for his speed, skill, and adaptability across various disciplines of racing.Hickman cemented his name in road racing history with his record-breaking performances at the Isle of Man TT, where he holds the fastest lap ever recorded at an average speed of 136.358 mph. With multiple TT wins, standout performances at the North West 200 and Macau Grand Prix, and success in the British Superbike Championship, he has proven himself as one of the most versatile and fearless riders on the grid. Beyond racing, Hickman has taken on new challenges, including owning his own team and putting together a competitive program with Triumph ahead of the Daytona 200.In this conversation, Hickman shares his thoughts on what it takes to push the limits on some of the most dangerous tracks in the world, the mindset required for road racing, and the challenges of balancing BSB with real-road competition. He also discusses the growth of his PHR Performance shop back home, where he helps develop and tune high-performance motorcycles in addition to the foundation of his own 8-Ten Racing team in partnership with fellow BSB / Road-Racer, Davey Todd.Follow @pipedreams_pod on social media!____________________________________________________________________________________Please support our partners: Law Tigers Motorcycle Attorney's: If you ever find yourself in an incident that may or may not require legal representation please call 1-800-Law-Tigers.- No recovery, no fee for personal injury claims, and no expenses unless there is a recovery.- Fees calculated as a percentage of the gross recovery.- FREE representation for motorcycle property damage claims- FREE advice on all motorcycle matters For more info visit https://lawtigers.com____________________________________________________________________________________Yuasa Battery: Setting the standard for powersports batteries since 1979. For them, it's swim, to hand cycle, to racing chair. Everything is about the upper body, and I've always been curious about how they take care of their shoulders, and what constitutes a rest day.   Today I'm chatting with Bret Crossley, a paratriathlete who lives in the Leeds area. Bret has been involved in triathlon since a motor bike racing accident in 2006 damaged his spine. He has been part of the British Triathlon talent programme, raced triathlons up to half Ironman distance, and competed in the London Marathon many times.  This is an inspirational conversation, and I hope you enjoy it. We chat about:   Motor bike racing days and competing in the Isle of Man  The accident, and how he coped in the immediate months after knowing he would never walk again. If you want to get a sense of the absolute concentration needed to race on the island, take a look at this video of Peter Hickman setting a fastest ever lap with an average speed of almost 137mph. Welcome to episode 39 of the Lovecars On The Grid Podcast! Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman bring us another roundup of motorsport events from the past week. We're a day late with the podcast this week (sorry), as Paul has been filming for our upcoming TV show! In Formula 1, Max Verstappen could take the F1 World Title this weekend, coming up to the record for the most wins in a season and probably the most dominant season we've ever seen in Formula 1! Zhou Guanyu has confirmed to be continuing to drive for Alfa Romeo next year, whilst the FIA has rejected Indycar driver, Colton Herta's application for a super license. Nicolas Latifi has also been confirmed that he will leave the Williams F1 team, where will he go next? There was a lot of motorbike racing, with Moto GP, Superbikes and British Superbikes! In the British GT, we had the issue of track limits, allowing drivers to overtake off the track and made it more like an amateur banger race at Brands Hatch. Extreme E was in Venezuela for the Copper X-Prix, with absolute chaos with the dust between the cars. The winner was determined by penalties given to each driver for hitting marker flags. Team Hamilton X44 won ahead of McLaren thanks for these penalties. Moto GP had a wet qualifying at the Grand Prix of Japan. The race was won by Australian rider, Jack Miller on his Ducati. Just four rounds to go in Moto GP and a race in Kazakhstan in 2023! The World Superbikes were in Barcelona, with wins in all three wins going to Alvaro Bautista on his Ducati. British Superbikes was full of drama at the weekend at Oulton Park, with Donington Park coming next weekend. Jason O'Halloran and Peter Hickman had a collision in the first race, as both riders attempted an overtake. In race 2, reigning champion, Tarran Mackenzie fell off and broke his femur after being struck by Peter Hickman. Mackenzie is recovering in hospital. Over the pond in NASCAR, the drivers were in Texas, with lots of tyre failures as teams push the limits of the Goodyear tyres. The next race is the lottery of Talledega! Next week, we have WRC in New Zealand, British Superbikes are at Donington Park, Moto GP is in Thailand and Formula 1 and W Series at in Singapore for the night race!

Welcome to Episode 23 of the Lovecars On the Grid Podcast where Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman kick off this podcast with what is possibly the most well-known race in the World! It is of course Le Mans, which was incredibly exciting! We all wanted number 7 to win, with British drive Mike Conway behind the wheel of the Toyota, alongside ex Formula 1 driver Kamui Kobayashi and Argentinian driver José María López. What did you think of the look of the Toyota? The LMP2 battle went right down to the last lap, with just 2.8 seconds between Team WRT and Team Jota for 1st place and nearly running over the chequered flag bearer! We were excited for the Glickenhaus cars out there for the first time with the 007 LMH, finishing in 4th and 5th place. It was a decorated race for British drivers too, with LMP2 3rd place for Will Stevens and 4th place for the all British LMP2 team, consisting of Paul Di Resta, Alex Lynn and Wayne Boyd. In the GTE Pro category, British driver, James Calado achieved first place in the Ferrari 488 GTE Evo with his fellow drivers, Alessandro Pier Guidi and Côme Ledogar. We had friends that came out of the race too sadly, with retirements from Ryan Cullen and Oli Webb, both have featured on our channel. The winning car had no less than 33 pit stops, covered a staggering 5,000KM over 1,440 minutes (24 hours)! Fingers crossed Paul and Tiff can attend next year! Who wants to join us? The DTM was at the Nurburgring this weekend and finally we have a win from ex Formula 1 driver, Alex Albon! In the two-wheeled World, the Superbikes were in Navarra, Spain this weekend, with Turkish rider, Toprak Razgatlioglu winning the race on his Yamaha, now equalling championship points with British rider, Jonathan Rea on his Kawasaki. The British Superbikes were at Cadwell Park, with a win for Peter Hickman on the BMW and Jason O'Halloran on the Yamaha. Over the pond in America, Indycar was won by American driver Josef Newgarden, closely followed by Mexican driver, Pato O'Ward in second. Just three races to go in this series, who will win? NASCAR was in Michigan, at the FireKeepers Casino 400 race and a brilliantly quick last few laps! Kyle Larson and William Byron were challenging for the lead, but Ryan Blaney managed to take it in the Ford #12. The next race is the last round of the 'play-offs', with the top 16 drivers going through. Coming up, we have the Formula 1 in Spa to look forward to, supported by Formula 3 and W Series, where anything could happen! The Lewis Hamilton vs. Max Verstappen battle will continue! Who will win the Formula 1 championship? BTCC will be at Thruxton, whilst Tiff will be at Silverstone to watch Valentino Rossi's last race, at the British Moto GP! The electric beach buggies, otherwise known at Extreme E, are in Greenland this weekend!

Hello and welcome to Front End Chatter and the 95th outing for Britain’s most stubbornly random motorcycling podcast, suspended as ever between the 48mm upsidedowners of bikesocial.co.uk – the world of motorcycling in a webby nutshell – and the fully adjustable monoshock of Bennetts, the bike insurance experts. And what a weird podcast we have this week, as two – well, one – of Britain’s funniest, smartest, sassiest and damn amazing moto journalists – that’s him, Martin Fitz-Gibbons, with me, Simon Hargreaves –  discuss subjects as widely disparate as: • how MotoGP from Mugello (remember that?) was won by a man who used to race an EXUP who did what at the wettest TT ever, including how Peter Hickman used an S1000RR engine he didn’t use, why it was a hybrid bike but not a hybrid engine, and why Harrison, not Dunlop, won the Dunlop Senior, on Metzelers, not Dunlops why John McGuinness might want to check the details of his Norton pension plan why FEC probably holds the lap record for the North Coast 500 the practical and psychological merits of air-bag suits is it a risk buying a new bike in the first year of production? does wearing hi-viz make you a fluoracist? why oh why isn’t there a magazine website with videos and stories and everything (like, er, bikesocial.co.uk, maybe)? are any skills learned off road transferrable to road riding? is the polite biker nod a dying habit, and should you wave at other riders anyway? are racers made on the roads they grow up riding on?   Thank you so much or listening, we really appreciate it – and please email your thoughts, ideas, questions and stories of helmet paint scheme inspired accusations to anything@frontendchatter.com   Follow @Bennetts on Twitter and Insta and Facebook Follow @Mufga and @SimonHBikes on Twitter/Insta etc Laters taters.
