What Does It Mean to Stand Out? Some people just have it - that undeniable aura that surrounds them, no matter where they go. That's what I call PRESENCE, and in the final week of Beer, Biz + BS, I'm talking to two women who seem to have been born with loads of it! Beny is Co-Founder & CEO of Black owned craft beer brand and brewery Crowns & Hops. She was just recently celebrated as a Black Woman In Beverage by the James Beard Foundation and is just an all around DOPE woman. Rashan Ali is Founder of Atlanta-based nonprofit Sporty Girls, Inc. and the Cool Soror podcast and brand...and my BFF! Why is PRESENCE Important? PRESENCE is not only about what we embody and exude to others; it also speaks to our sense of personal, inward awareness. It means being awake and present in your body in each moment. Being present is important because it allows us to live life to its fullest - just as it's intended. In this article 3 Ways To Develop A Powerful Presence With Others, the author says that "people who have presence have an inner radiance, since they are comfortable and content within themselves." I'll talk with Beny and Rashan about how they've been able to establish an outward PRESENCE in the world, while maintaining a sense of PRESENCE within. I've had some powerful conversations over the past three weeks, and I think this is the perfect one to end this second series of Beer, Biz + BS.
This is the episode before the season finale. I can't believe I made 24 episodes for the world. In this compilation, I was able to take moments from earlier episodes with Gump, Cat Polivoda, Ashley Gonzalez, Rashan Ali, Kirsten White, Brad Gray, Brandon Pope, Collins Pettaway, Scooter, & Ryan Cameron. Thank you to ALL of my guests this season & on March 2nd, I will be bringing myself to my podcast in a very intimate way. Stay tuned, take a listen to these moments, & revisit their episodes! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/therealsix5/message

Williams is joined by Karen Civil, Blavity's Morgan DeBaun, and The Gathering Spot's Ryan Wilson to examine Clubhouse's $1 billion valuation, and Black people's influence that gives platforms their popularity and success. Ross Mac -- aka the Wall Street rapper -- Ash Cash, and Ashley Harrington discuss financial progress and the hurdles of COVID-19. Kaz and Rashan Ali breakdown all news surrounding Super Bowl LV. I launched The Atlanta Beer Boutique in 2011 as a beer blog that evolved into a pop up craft beer experience company. But before all of that, I focused on giving shape to my mission, my vision and my company core values. It wasn't the most exhilarating work, but totally necessary. I learned, in these early planning stages, the importance of being in the moment. Giving birth to our dreams requires us to be in an open and receptive posture. That's how I've tried to approach planning for The Atlanta Beer Boutique since the very beginning. To borrow a quote from this week's guest, Rashan Ali, I was "Flowing & Growing." Rashan Ali is a multi media personality and one of the hosts of an ensemble talk show, Sister Circle Live. But since the pandemic, production of the show halted, the show was eventually canceled, and life has been one lesson of love, gratitude and "what the hell's" ever since! I hope you enjoy our conversation! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

It’s another “Cool People” episode of the Cool Soror Podcast and we are delighted to have ESPN’s own Cari Champion join us. This California native is the epitome of Black Girl Magic as the host of Coast To Coast one one of the world’s most popular networks. Prior to joining Coast To Coast, Cari served as the host of ESPN2’s First Take, where she shared the debate table with Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith and moderated their debate topics while offering her perspective and insight. She knew she wanted more so she set out to “knock on doors until I got a Yes!” Her ‘yes’ came in 2015. Before ESPN, Champion was an anchor and courtside reporter at the Tennis Channel. She also served as an entertainment/lifestyle reporter doing features for The Insider, Hollywood 411 and Starz Entertainment. She has spent time at WCGL in Atlanta as an anchor and reporter. While her resume and bio speaks volumes about her professional career, it’s who Cari is as a woman that rings loudly. She has a mentoring program that matches young women and girls with career guides in the field of sports journalism. With that, she has served as a mentor to our host, Rashan Ali and helped her doing a pivotal moment in her career. They talk about that moment during this in depth conversation. We are excited to launch our first episode of “Cool People” with Digital Marketing Guru, Athony “AJ” Joiner. A native of Louisiana and a Computer Information Systems graduate of Southern University, AJ had the zest for entrepreneurship even in the corporate setting. After years of giving major corporations brilliant ideas, AJ decided to step away and take digital marketing to the next level..this time with his own clients. Directly from his website www.anthonyjoiner.com, he describes himself as the following: “Modestly speaking, my clients have repeatedly told me that I have ‘the gift’. The gift of pulling back the curtain and showing smart, influential thought leaders and business owners how to make money online by using social media and other online tools to monetize the years and years of knowledge they have acquired in their industry. We focus on your skills and knowledge and turn it into cash all from the comfort of your home. There are too many fluffy ‘digital strategists’ and ‘branding experts’ who tell you to post six times a day, create a vision board and make sure you have the right colors and fonts, but they can’t connect a single piece of strategy to the tools you need.” Anthony has played an integral role in the life of our host, Rashan Ali. They delve deeper into their business relationship and how she has truly benefited from his tutelage. From meditation to the confines of religion, Anthony showcases the tapestry of his intellect in “Million Dollar Mind.” You’ll see why his currency is so rich. It’s not every day that our host, Rashan Ali, gets to interview someone she helped become a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha. This episode gave her the second opportunity as she sits down with Christelsie Johnson, who is definitely a Cool Soror. A professional film and television makeup artist, Christelsie takes us on an emotional ride of loss, perseverance and triumph. She has ridden each of these with that mustard seed of faith. It was all she had. A graduate of Florida A&M University in theatre, her original focus was acting. She did however, study all aspects of the art including acting, directing, lighting and makeup. She went on to become a public school teacher and then serve as a director of arts in therapy for a counseling agency. After being laid off, she took what she thought would be a temporary job in cosmetics, with MAC cosmetics. There her love for the art developed. She has now worked as a full-time makeup artist for 11 years and her portfolio is impressive! Christelsie has worked with numerous celebrities, magazines, NBA cheerleading teams, top hair companies, brides and has 20 television and film credits under her belt. She served most recently as makeup department head for Tales, which returns to BET in October and is currently on Jay Z’s Tidal. She also served as makeup department head on TV One’s highest premier in network history, When Love Kills. Coming up on 9/24/17, she has an intensive television and film workshop for makeup artists who are interested in transitioning into the industry full time. She believes that sharing her gifts is the true definition of service and that is exactly what she is doing through her work and her company, “My T.R.U.E. Beauty.” She’s everything the name means: beautiful inside and out. One listen and you will agree. Twitter: @CATrueBeautyIG: @christelsiewww.christelsie.com
