This week we continue our coverage of the Keep It True Rising festival in Wurzburg, Germany in October 2024. Billed as Cirith Ungol's final European performance, the gig was a disaster from the very beginning. Plagued by technical issues and an unexpected slip and fall, the show took a turn for the worse with a Night Demon hater / heckler. The guys speak candidly about how they battled through the adversity and how this experience made Cirith Ungol want to return to Europe to end the chapter properly. From there, we pivot to Night Demon's 8-show headlining run supported by Canuck titans Traveler. You will hear how Night Demon may have been distracted and on autopilot, but how the shows turned out splendidly nonetheless.Become a subscriber today at nightdemon.net/subscriber. This week we bring you the final installment of our coverage of Night Demon's summer 2024 European tour. We run through shows in Stuttgart, Switzerland and Spain, with commentary from the band and the crew as well as live clips from the gigs themselves. You will hear about oversold venues, volume restrictions, an epic jam in the crowd in Spain, and a missed connecting flight out of Lisbon. We conclude with Cirith Ungol's abbreviated set at the Maryland Doom Fest right after the European tour ended.Become a subscriber today at nightdemon.net/subscriber. This week we spotlight Night Demon's appearance alongside Cirith Ungol at Poland's Black Silesia Open Air Festival in summer 2024. You will hear all about the unique setting of the festival, the decidedly extreme orientation of the roster, and technical innovations and shortcomings. Through commentary from the band, crew and a die-hard fan, we explain why this was such a special gig for Cirith Ungol but such a challenging gig for Night Demon. Riding high from a successful fest, the band is unexpectedly brought back down to earth by a flat tire to begin their travel day to Stuttgart.Become a subscriber today at nightdemon.net/subscriber. This week we continue our chronicle of Night Demon's summer 2024 run through Europe. This episode finds the lads crossing the border from Germany into Poland for shows in Poznan and Warsaw. You will hear the inside scoop from both gigs, including overzealous fans, lessons learned, commercial film crews outside the venue, losing lights on trailers, and fistfights over setlists. Riot City maybe a band you have never heard but SHOULD as they are one of the most exhilarating Speed Metal bands on the planet right now. Gorge yourself on new jamz from Spectral Voice, Balkan, Altered Dead, Dodsrit, Daevar, and Vemod; bloat your weak and fragile insides on gig features for Riot City, Escuela Grind, Dodheimsgard, and Beherit; vomit on the 20th anniversary for Cannibal Corpse's "The Wretched Spawn" A disgusting morsel for even the most discerning heavy metal radio connoisseur..
I had planned a completely different podcast, something or other about the music industry but seeing as my city was on fire last night and I walked through it I thought today should be a kinda emergency podcast about what the F is happening in Dublin. This Week on America's Podcast Our Live Album Series Part 2.. Eric RMCP Jordon from "Rock All Over You Podcast" Joins us In the episode, the hosts discussed the iconic live album by Foghat, appropriately titled Foghat Live. They gave their personal opinions on the quality of the album, including the musicianship of the band members, the energy of the performance, and how well it captures the spirit of the band's live shows. They may have also gone into detail about the standout tracks on the album, such as the crowd-favorite "Fool for the City," and how well they were received by fans. Additionally, they might have delved into the history of the album and the impact it had on the band's career. The review may have also included some criticisms or areas where the hosts felt the album could have been improved, such as the sound quality or song selection. However, overall the review would have given listeners a sense of whether or not it's worth adding Foghat Live to their music collection and whether it's a must-listen for any rock music fan. Tracks of the Week Are Charles, "Open the Door, See What You Find" by Noel Gallagher. Eric, "Ghost Of Reality" by Riot City. Heavy Metal has always had a strong connection and relationship to the wonderful world of Horror. The #1 topic of discussion amongst Horror conisseurs is the new "Hellraiser" adaptation on Hulu. It's already proving to be a divisive little flick. But what is certain is the impact that the Hellraiser franchise has had on the Metal world. The third installment "Hellraiser 3: Hell On Earth" produced not one but two versions of the theme song by two of the biggest names in our genre. So in honour of the new flick, we sat down with both the Motorhead and Ozzy versions in a "watch along" to compare and pick a fave. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss the up coming Metallica/Raven tribute to Johnny and Marsha Zazula a.k.a Megaforce Records. Musically, we crank some new + used from Raven, Psycroptic, Mortician, Spellbook, Riot City, Ritual Dictates and introduce Upon Your Grave in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up and Stay Healthy! Jason Drake is a musician and professional wrestler - a member of the Riot City's Most Wanted stable and the man who broke Adam Cole's record as longest reigning EWA Cruiserweight Champion. He's also a good, everyday dude named Logan Helphenstine - a nature enthusiast who wrestles with anxiety and panic disorder outside of the ring. We met up the day after Logan was in the ER for panic attacks, and found ourselves very reflective on the subject of mental health overall - how our respective anxieties manifest and affect our lives, the importance of public conversation in reducing the stigma around mental health issues, and the changing attitudes and understanding of the issues in stereotypically hyper-masculine spaces. We also talked about the relationship between physical health and mental health, and our connection as people to the wonders of nature. So it made perfect sense to head out to Boonsboro, MD together so Jason Drake could see an underground cave for the very first time! From stalactites and stalagmites, to an unexpected waterfall, and a very curious Praying Mantis; this week's episode is all about how humanity can make an attraction of the natural world. The Appalachian Soul Man, Aristotle Jones, pulls the curtain back to reveal what exactly creates the magic in the recording studio, when he interviews Riot City Studio's owner, and Recordist Tommy Bailey, and grooves out to music from Fletcher's Grove, Litz, 18 strings, and Megan Jean's Secret Family.
Portland, OR was recently home to another chaotic protest as alleged members of Antifa donned face coverings and disrupted a peaceful protest to support a gubernatorial candidate. The depleted local police force was simply unable to control the situation as the “Rose City” is turning into “Riot City”. Meanwhile, local and state officials seem content to stand back and do nothing to stop it. Ted's new album, “Detroit Muscle” has a message of peace and unity, and the Motorcity Madman lets you know why that message is so important right now.
