This week's show covers new music from Britain's Tears For Fears, Brisbane's Sampology, Stavanger, Norway's Beachheads, and the pairing of Paris's Janko Nilovic with backing by The Soul Surfers, of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. For the archive pick this week, Brendan is digging up a record that is two weeks older than he is: Kick Out The Jams, by Detroit noise rock legends the MC5; Duel-guitar frenzy, and more than a little revolutionary politics, too. Of course, there are six more bonus tracks, but you have to sign up for our email newsletter to get those. It's pretty easy to do, if you just click this link. (And do so without fear. We won't misuse your email address, as this show is run by two guys, Mark and Brendan; Not some faceless corporation.) Lastly, don't miss our fabulous Spotify playlists. We make one for each episode of the show, so grab the latest if you are up to date, and dig into previous episodes if you are new here, or just curious. Have a terrific week!

Bside Incoming: Sampology Monthly radio host on the ever impressive WorldWideFM, purveyor of great music, a richly creative producer, and now the boss of his very own Middle Name Records… we gladly present you one of Brisbane's very best… Sampology. Bursting through into the musical limelight with the release of his highly acclaimed Mt. Glorious EP in 2018, Samplogy's has declared himself to be up there with the best in Australia's thriving scene. He followed this success up with a collaborative project intended as a one off, but such a triumph was the release and its subsequent tour that Middle Name Dance Band have released a second volume this spring. Rather than starting afresh under a new name, the project continues under its original title but injected with a new lease of life with the introduction of new artists to aid Sampology in his journey to create new and exciting music. Certainly worth a listen if your enjoying Sampology's Bside Incoming episode… grab yourself a copy on bandcamp: https://middlenamedanceband.bandcamp.com/album/middle-name-dance-tracks-vol-2 This episode is an exploration of the broken beat and percussive house rhythms that he has become so renowned for, not limiting himself to genre yet never straying too far from his own authentic sound. Soul, house, dub, breakbeat, and plenty of funky sunny beats from the Brisbane man. We can almost feel that Southern Hemisphere summer parting our wintery overcast as the good times break through! Enjoy! Having toured the world from India to Germany to China to North America in the past year alone, Sampology spent much of 2014 in studios in Berlin and L.A, between these numerous national and international tours. Working previously with a wide-ranging roster of talent from South African artist Spoek Mathambo, to dancehall guru Beenie Man, and Summer Heights High comedy genius Chris Liley, Sampology’s wild talents ignite audience’s imaginations. His latest collaboration saw him partner with twice award-winning neo-soul R&B singer/songwriter, Daniel Merriweather for the epic single release, ‘Shine A Light’. Radio support came from BBC Radio 1, Triple J, Pure Belgium, Studio Brussels, FM4 Austria and Kiss FM. Just a taster of what’s to come from Sampology’s hotly anticipated sophomore album due for release later in 2015. Love for the Brisbane natives pioneering production is spreading fast.
