Dick Garcia. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God". So what does this familiar Biblical quote suggest, or could it be a literal explanation of the principles of Universal Creation? Prior to the advent of scientism, Alchemists described the Ether as a stratified creative mechanism, which they successfully duplicated in microcosmic fashion through laboratory processes. They referred to the third Etheric level as the Water element, or "Sound Ether". The study of both Wave Form Mechanics and Cymatics go further to reveal that our functional Realm is, in fact, a byproduct of pure resonance, or sound. On this Alfacast we further explore this phenomenon to understand how the use of specific sound frequencies could very well be the future of medicine and of all technological endeavor. Our tour guide for this episode is special guest, Randy Masters, a multi disciplined alchemist, an award winning composer, a professional musician and multi-instrumentalist, a former university music teacher, and the designer of sacred geometry and sound products. As a recording artist and musician, Randy has produced many recording of his own music with his highly acclaimed fusion group Solar Plexus, and also his Multi-National band as well as having composed for international musicians Cal Tjader, Tito Punte, Charlie Byrd, Laurindo Almeida and Hedzoleh Soundz. Randy has performed on many instruments including piano, keyboards, trumpets, guitar, base and percussion and is also very fluent in international music styles and has performed with well known musicians from Ghana, Brazil, Nigeria, The Congo, India, Mexico, Puerto Rico to name a few. Randy was a featured trumpet player on the American Gamelan recording by famous composer Lou Harrison. Randy has been a featured speaker at many sound healing conferences and expos, including the New Living Expo and Santa Fe, San Francisco and Los Angeles Sound Healing Conferences, where he speaks on subjects such as Sacred Geometry, Sacred Sites, Sound Healing and the Music of the Spheres – Unified Field. His company Resonant Living makes specially tuned wind-chimes, desktop chimes, tuning forks, sacred geometry energy jewelry and other custom designed specialist sound tools and musical CDs. A key to Randy's mission statement and lifetime work is to reconnect spirituality and science to reveal the creation science and codes of existence that assist in raising the frequency of human consciousness. Randy is currently collaborating and co-producing sound healing projects for many artists and weaving his extensive knowledge and discoveries into creative sonic endeavors. Terry Gibbs 99 2. Lionel Hampton 1908-2002 3. John Lewis 1920-2001 4. Bobby Hutcherson 1941-2016 5. Cal Tjader 1925-1982 6. Chick Corea 1941-2021 7. Roy Ayers 83 8. Dave Samuels 1948-2019 9. For their seventh outing together as a close-knit, collaborative rhythm tandem, bassist Leon Lee Dorsey and drummer Mike Clark tapped pianist Michael Wolff as third man in their ongoing trio adventures. Wolff, who had previously appeared with Dorsey and Clark on 2020's Play Sgt. Pepper, completes the triumvirate on this heartfelt tribute to the late, great pianist-composer in the new album titled “A Letter to Bill Evans.” These renderings of Bill Evans classics contain the kind of sparkling energy and improvisational freshness that always animates these trio sessions between Dorsey, Clark and their third partner. And this time around they hit on the perfect choice with pianist Michael Wolff, who first heard Evans live at Davies Hall in San Francisco when he was 18, and got the only available tickets which were actually on the stage, where he got to experience the concert close up. “A few years later, when I was 20,” Wolff explained, “I went on the road with Cal Tjader . I ran into Bill Evans a lot in various cities where we all were playing; I befriended him and, of course, hounded him for information about his music. He was very open and understanding with me. And whenever he was performing in the Bay Area, I would go hear him every night.” Wolff's connection with Mike Clark, who is celebrating his 50th anniversary as a member of The Headhunters, goes back to the late ‘60s on the Bay Area jazz scene when Wolff was house pianist with Bishop Norman Williams' Sunday afternoon jam at a great SF club called the Both/And. “I was 17 years old and still in high school, I wasn't old enough to get into most clubs then. But I had this gig and Mike came by one Sunday to sit in. And that was the beginning of a long working relationship.” While the music of “A Letter to Bill Evans” captures the spirit of the great pianist, Wolff/Clark/Dorsey take some liberties with this classic Evans material, interpreting it through their collective musical lens. In my conversation with all three musicians, we talk about how the album came together, their concept for each track, and how it's truly their “love letter” to the music and the man who is one of the giants of jazz.

Our favorite vinyl records from bands or artists filed under "G". And...GO! In the early 1970s, legendary collaborator and self-proclaimed non-musician Brian Eno famously designed a deck of 115 cards containing elliptical imperatives to spark in the user creative connections unobtainable through regular modes of work. He called his creation "Oblique Strategies." For nearly one half of a century, countless artists and professionals across the globe have benefited from utilizing the oblique strategies technique when attempting to overcome a lull in creative output. In 2022, idiot basement-dwelling, award-winning* hobby podcasters and self-proclaimed Lightnin' Lickers Jay and Deon found themselves uninspired when contemplating the potential themes of their upcoming thirty-first episode. Together, they decided... to default back to the alphabet. Because they have a reasonably good handle on the alphabet. They had previously utilized the letters A thru F, so naturally, they went with G. Nuthin' But a “G” Thang mixtape: [SIDE G1] (1) Game Theory - Erica's World (2) Grant Green - We Have Only Just Begun (3) Grazia - Soyle Beni (4) Goodie Mob - Cell Therapy (5) Glitterhouse - I Lost Me a Friend [SIDE G2] (1) Guru featuring Roy Ayers - Take a Look at Yourself (2) Grandaddy - Hewlett's Daughter (3) Marvin Gaye - Trouble Man (4) Guadalcanal Diary - 3AM (5) The Goon Sax - Sweaty Hands [END] Sonic contributors to episode thirty-one of Lightnin' Licks Radio include: Lee Moses, Brothers Johnson, Holland-Dozier-Holland, Cal Tjader, Craig Mack & Co., DJ Evil Dee, The Nonce, Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre & Snoop, Lee Hazelwood, J.
