Larry and I had a big sneak attack by an alcoholic demon possession this week. And I use the word “demon” to mean nasty, negative entities. I don't use the word in a religious way.Normally, we have excellent interactions with the people we love and care for. Most of our friends and relatives are people who, if not interested in personal growth, are caring, loving, intelligent, and friendly people. For a few weeks now, Larry has been planning to visit some close relatives in Alaska. The visit was important to him. Last time, he went with his kids via plane, train and boat, it's quite the journey. But none were free schedule wise this time, so he invited me on a road trip, using our new big truck, our camper, and a couple thousand miles of Canadian wilderness to travel through. I love a good road trip so I said, “yes.”He let his relatives know, he got an answer a week later, and he was told in no uncertain terms that I was not welcome in their home.Apparently, I am a very bad person and will upset the elderly who might then have heart attacks in my presence. Quite the reputation. There have been at least three interactions from the woman who has placed herself as “gatekeeper” for the couple we were visiting, which invariably begin with, “I don't want to sound confrontational, or get into a fight or drama, but…” This is a classic example of “preemptive framing” or “disarming language” - used manipulatively to appear non-aggressive while preparing an attack. Then followed by a barrage of covert narcissistic sentences. We can identify a covert narcissism when the person weaves their words to appear victimized or gentle while manipulating and harming others.Personally, I knew what was coming as soon as I heard those words, it is Psychology 101 and not hard to identify. The hit came in unexpectedly and deep for Larry, however. He thought she was calling to talk about her latest work trip, which sounded to be fascinating, and was her texted reason for not having answered for a week; she was away. His shock, surprise and upset was so big that it reached me like a hammer - which, of course, was the intent of the person involved. We know better than to go into defense when we are attacked. There are no lives at stake here, and no one is in physical danger. We have learned to strengthen our cores, and use them as refuge in a sense to shield us from assaults like these and others. Yet the surprise was the shock delivery vehicle, and a lesson learned. Semper Paratus, the Coast Guard motto which Larry was trained with means ”always ready” is not active when dealing with loved ones.I too was quite shocked at the strength of the energy woven into this person's words, both over the phone and via texts. Then I remembered that she finishes her days in a haze of alcohol. And it all fell into place. At least the strength of the power behind the words was explained, not the words themselves which are hers. The first attack came as a phone call. Larry took it in his stride - he knows better than to engage with others when he's triggered and upset. And he was very, very shocked and upset. The next attacks came in the form of texts. He answered, thanking the person for letting him know how they felt and that he would think about his trip. The “gatekeeper” then offered to pay for his entire trip if he travelled alone (not bringing me). This is a typical covert abuse tactic where the person is made to choose between two people he or she loves. And will be highly rewarded if they choose “the right person”.The texts kept coming, with the same sentence to open the person up at an energetic level - “I am being friendly and caring, I am not going to fight…” then, yes, you got it - she would push the dagger in. The covert narcissism continued.Of course, in her first ramblings I was an evil person who is here to harm. And the entity attached to this woman is right. My teachings do harm demons, as I do encourage people to stop drinking alcohol or taking recreational drugs. This will bring the person out of their alcoholic fog and usually they will then refuse the demon's influence. And she knows I discourage alcohol consumption, which for her probably feels like I am negatively judging her. Most alcoholics see the world through a lens of “I, me and myself”, and everything in some way becomes specifically about them. You have probably heard recovering addicts saying, “I am fighting my demons.” This is not figuratively speaking but is an actual account of what they are doing. At the same time, it is not spiritual bypassing where the person blames powerful external entities for their behavior so that they don't have to address difficult personal issues. The person does need to do that work also, he or she is nobody's victim, they receive a big kick of something in return for their possession.Saying that this woman has demons driving the conflict is not done to minimize her responsibility or actions. She is the one who welcomed those entities and they do feed her and her needs. At the moment, she gets off on drama and conflict, and this situation was just too juicy for her to refuse or leave alone. She has been feeding off it for years now. As the attacks on my person failed, she then started attacking Larry himself, telling him how bad and hurtful he had been the past few months and years. It has been a long time since these types of negative beings have reached us at any significant level through the people around us. At a superficial level, it is a non-issue. Words like these have come before from other people, and they wash off and are quickly discarded and forgotten. In the case of these relatives, the attack repeats again, at an amplified level. This is called psychological abuse through emotional manipulation and covert narcissism. As Larry did not “react appropriately” in these people's eyes by defending me or attacking them, he became the alleged bad person and aggressor. The abuser, having failed to be acknowledged as a victim and their invitation to drama completely refused, then tried to get their emotional feed by moving her aggressor projection onto Larry himself. These types of abusive behaviors only work with people who deeply care for the psychological abuser, as the entry to the attack is love itself. This is the way it works: the people it works on have to be close at an emotional, loving level. So, what do we do when these demonic beings come through an open door of love? Do we stop loving the person? Do we stop contact with them? Do we go and fight? Do we try to save them?We are in charge of how we feel. Other people and beings, including demons, can attack, try to influence, and try to goad us into a drama filled with food for them. But we are ultimately the ones who are responsible - have the ability to respond - within our own emotional, mental, and other bodies. What Larry did was to stop. He stopped answering because it became obvious that the answers, which were conciliatory, were not what these people wanted. Yet the feelings within Larry were still running strong, so the next step was to process those feelings. My exercise “Fear Processing Exercise” is excellent for processing upset, anger, and frustration too, so that's the next step.Step two is to process those nasty, sticky energies from our emotions and minds. And the step after that is to do something completely different. We are on that step now, and we will discuss what that looks like on our podcast. One of the things that negative entities - including people - cannot continue their abuse under is disclosure. If the drama and abuse happen behind closed doors, in secret and confidential agreements, the abuser thrives. By shining the light of disclosure and pointing the eyes of the universe toward the abuser, they shrink and are not able to continue. I didn't come up with this piece of enlightened wisdom, “sunlight as disinfectant” is a common psychological phrase used in narcissism recovery circles. This situation brought some reality to what many lightworkers are going through these days. It is easy to forget how the dark side of the light/dark paradigm can affect us when most of our interactions are with people who are awake and high-frequency.If you find yourself being goaded into a victim/aggressor cycle by family or close friends pushing on your love buttons, remember the steps:* Become aware that this is an invitation to feed the beast.* STOP* Process any sticky, nasty feelings, energies, and thoughts.* Do something else entirely. What you don't want to do is step into the “victim identity.” This aligns with the concept of “learned helplessness” in psychology. Nor the aggressor. When a person falls into the aggressor is also well known in psychology. It is called Reactive Abuse (also called provoked aggression or coercive provocation). We don't play those games. It's not for you, this battle, for you have chosen a new paradigm of joy-light-love and inspiration. The discussion doesn't stop here - listen to the full podcast episode for unfiltered insights from Inelia and our panelists. The Veterans Breakfast Club proudly celebrates the U.S. Coast Guard's 235th birthday with a special 90-minute livestream event on Monday, August 4 at 7:00pm ET. Join us as we talk with Coast Guard veterans about what makes their service so distinct—and so essential to the nation's security and safety. Founded on August 4, 1790, the Coast Guard is the oldest continuous seagoing service in the United States. Unlike other branches, the USCG has a dual mission: military operations during wartime and law enforcement, search and rescue, and maritime safety during peacetime. It is the only military branch that operates under the Department of Homeland Security (except during wartime, when it may transfer to the Department of the Navy). What sets the Coast Guard apart? Maritime law enforcement: The Coast Guard has the authority to board, search, seize, and arrest vessels suspected of violating federal law. Search and rescue operations: From hurricanes to sinking ships, the Coast Guard is the first call in times of maritime crisis. Icebreaking and navigation aid: Coasties operate in Arctic and Great Lakes regions to maintain critical shipping lanes and place navigational buoys. Drug and migrant interdiction: They play a front-line role in combating illegal trafficking on the high seas. In this special birthday celebration, we'll hear from Coast Guard veterans who served aboard cutters, on coastal patrol, in aviation, and at isolated duty stations. They'll share stories of adventure, service, and resilience—from intercepting narco-subs in the Caribbean to medevac missions in the Bering Sea. We'll explore what it means to be “Always Ready”—Semper Paratus—and why Coast Guard veterans are proud to serve in a branch that blends military rigor with humanitarian urgency. Help us mark this important anniversary by honoring the stories of those who serve in America's maritime guardian force. #USCoastGuard #CoastGuardBirthday #SemperParatus #VeteransBreakfastClub #VBCLive #MaritimeService #SearchAndRescue #MilitaryVeterans #CoastGuardStories We're grateful to UPMC for Life for sponsoring this event!

Send us a textThis week on the Montana Outdoor Podcast your host Downrigger Dale talks about something that has been patrolling much of Montana's Waterways for many years but many of you may not even know about it. No, it is not part of the Montana FWP but works with them quite often. It is actually part of the Department of Homeland Security and more specifically part of the United States Coast Guard. Yes, this week Downrigger has a fascinating discussion with Captain Dave Hansen of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. Yeah, that's right the Coast Guard Auxiliary has a strong presence on Montana's waterways, and it is all done by a bunch of dedicated volunteers. No, they are not part of law enforcement or out checking for fishing licenses or things like that. Their main focus is safety on the water, whether you are in a boat, on a jet ski,  on a sailboat or on a paddle board. They are just there to help everyone be safe or assist those that need help whether it lending you a life jacket for you or your child or actually saving your life when something goes wrong. No violations or fines just sincere help from experts in the field of safety. And it even goes further than that! With the a motto of “Semper Paratus” (Always Ready, or Always Prepared) it says a lot about these guys and gals in blue!  For those of you that watch this podcast you will see some of the boats they use and what the signs look like on their boats, as well as what their uniforms look like. That way you can give them a wave or stop and say hi and thank them for all they do, though these humble Auxiliarists never expect that, they just love what they do. Don't miss this podcast everyone we are positive that you will say, at least three or four times while listening or watching, "Wow! My friend Will Larson, Semper Paratus, passed on June 29, 2019. I had known him by reputation as one of the best AR15 armorers and armorer instructors alive at the time. We had many common friends and we began interacting online in low-information gun groups. We upset a lot of people by bringing factual information into the discussions. At times, they were fun tag team interactions that are still somewhere on Facebook. I eventually attended one of his AR15 armorer courses and found it surpassed every other course on the subject that I had attended. He presented the information in a manner that was easy to follow and understand. I attended several of his courses and would have continued if he were alive today.I found a few audio files on my phone that recorded some parts of his lectures. I have skimmed through them and found some interesting insights shared, but I haven't listened to the full recordings yet. These may start and stop abruptly, there might be a break, or it might start and end mid-thought. So, we are going to listen to this together for the first time since I sat in as a student to learn directly from the Great Will Larson.-MattBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/primary-secondary-podcast--2585240/support.

TRANSCRIPT OF AUDIO From the Cumberland Gap to the Atlantic Ocean, this is Virginia Water Radio for the weeks of November 7 and November 14, 2022.  This is a revised version of an episode from November 2014.SOUND – 3 seconds – “Mayday!  Mayday!  Anybody got a copy?”  In this episode, in honor of Veterans Day on November 11, we focus on the “anybody” that did copy and respond to the distress call you just heard: that is, the U.S. Coast Guard.  Have a listen for about 45 seconds more of the Coast Guard's first response to that vessel sinking off Virginia's coast in April 2010. SOUND – 46 seconds – Boater: “I've struck an object and my boat is going down.  It's going down fast.”  Coast Guard: “Vessel in district, this is Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads.  Request to know your GPS position.  Over.” Boater: “I'm unable to get a GPS position.  I'm off South, South Cape, about three miles off South Cape.  I've gotta deploy my raft.  She's goin' under.” Coast Guard: “Captain, request to know if you have a life jacket on.  Over.” Boater: “I do have a life jacket on.” Coast Guard:  “Hello all stations.  This is United States Coast Guard, Hampton Roads, Virginia, Sector.  Time 0737 local, the Coast Guard has received a report of a vessel taking on water and going down, with one person on board. … All vessels in the vicinity are requested to keep a sharp lookout, assist if possible, and advise the Coast Guard of all sightings.”The Coast Guard began in 1790 as a 10-ship fleet established to enforce trade laws and reduce smuggling.  In 1915, Congress merged this fleet—by then called the Revenue Cutter Service—with the U.S. Life Saving Service to form the Coast Guard as a branch of the nation's military forces.  Later, the Lighthouse Service and the functions of the Bureau of Marine Inspection and Navigation, also became part of the Coast Guard.  Today's missions include law enforcement; national defense and homeland security; marine safety; environmental protection; navigation; and search and rescue activities, including the rescue of 13 people from a fishing vessel in the Atlantic off Virginia's coast just this past October 28.  Virginia's connections to the Coast Guard range from George Washington presiding over the establishment of the revenue cutter fleet; to life-saving stations put in service in the 1800s; to the first ice-breaking by a revenue cutter in the Chesapeake Bay in 1906; to today's several active units, including the large Portsmouth base, which started as a depot for lighthouse equipment and is now headquarters for the Coast Guard's Fifth District. Thanks to the Coast Guard for this long history of service “through surf and storm and howling gale,” as the lyrics say in the Coast Guard anthem, “Semper Paratus,” the Latin for “always ready.”  And we close with a short sample of that anthem, played by the U.S. Coast Guard Band. MUSIC -  22 seconds – instrumental. S. Code, Sec. 87a) approved May 13, 1938, made the 11th of November in each year a legal holiday—a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated and known as ‘Armistice Day.' Armistice Day was primarily a day set aside to honor veterans of World War I, but in 1954, after World War II had required the greatest mobilization of soldiers, sailors, Marines, and airmen in the Nation's history, [and] after American forces had fought aggression in Korea, the 83rd Congress, at the urging of the veterans service organizations, amended the Act of 1938 by striking out the word ‘Armistice' and inserting in its place the word ‘Veterans.' With the approval of this legislation (Public Law 380) on June 1, 1954, November 11th became a day to honor American veterans of all wars.” SOURCES Used for Audio City of Portsmouth, Va., “Official Coast Guard City,” online at https://www.portsmouthva.gov/603/Official-Coast-Guard-City. 22 November 2020 Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe Matthew 25:31-46 + Homily 17 Minutes 45 Seconds Link to the Readings: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/111522.cfm (New American Bible, Revised Edition) Note: A substitute priest celebrated Mass and preached today. The attached homily is from 26 November 2017, the Solemnity of Christ the King, using the same readings as today. From the parish bulletin of Sunday 22 November 2020:    These days I am frequently asked if we are living in the “End Times.” As the grace of Holy Orders does not make me a seer, I defer, as is prudent, to the King of Universe: “Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming” (Matthew 24:42). So the answer simply is that we do not know, but as the Coast Guard’s “Semper Paratus” motto exhorts, we must constantly be prepared. That vigilance is contingent on everyone’s immediate obligation to be recollect for the end of one’s own life. For the Christian, this is a stimulus to faith rather than neurosis. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Philippians 4:6   The prophets were not like the boy who cried “Wolf!” They were inspired by God to tell what he wants his people to know about spiritual readiness, so that his kingly rule is that of a shepherd guiding his flock through the variables of human experience. In the film The Lion in Winter, Katharine Hepburn as Henry II’s queen, Eleanor of Aquitaine, remarks with regal resignation about her dysfunctional family: “What family doesn’t have its ups and downs?” Christ’s family the Church has always had its ups and downs, often big time, and many times it has been the lamentable case that the Shepherd King is tasked with herding cats rather than sheep   The Church began with a crucifixion when no one expected a resurrection. That sequence of death and life is repeated time and again. There were the persecutions under so many Caesars, heresies with volatile schisms in consequence, sieges, desecrations, destructions, corruptions and civilly institutionalized blasphemies. But each of these crucifixions was followed by a resurrection. This is to be remembered when distress in the Church is accompanied by a confluence of unrest and fear in politics and pandemics. Through it all, the Carthusian motto grows ever more stolid and incontestable: “Stat Crux dum volvitur orbis”—the Cross stands steady while the world revolves. This is most vivid when the revolving world seems to be whirling out of control   On November 5, the ninety-year-old Cardinal Tumi of Cameroon was briefly kidnapped by separatists who demanded that he endorse their propaganda. He told his captors that he must preach only what is true: “Nobody has the right to tell me to preach the contrary because I was called by God.” In every cultural crisis, this is the kind of witness that transcends any attempt to speculate about the end of the world, for it takes its strength from the assurance that Christ Crucified in Jerusalem is also Christ the King of the Universe His dominion is an everlasting dominion  that shall not be taken away, his kingship shall not be destroyed. (Daniel 7:14)

Well people, I would say that truer words may have never been spoken. Living life in the fast lane. Some more old sayings might be, they were to young to die. They had a wonderful life, or how about the good old, stop the world from spinning, I want to get off.   While some of these old sayings maybe somewhat silly. Each one holds a truth of it's own. Granted there are hundred's more and in other languages even. But it is the sentiment behind them that I want you to focus on, and the aftermath that comes with the understanding.   Are you ready to meet Christ face to face? Well with these few old sayings and a few more facts the group will discuss what it means to be ready. Or as my old Coast Guard Motto goes, “Semper Paratus ” which means “Always Ready”... That is what we here at the Christian Warrior Network want for you and those you love.
