In this episode of the podcast, host Emily Morse is joined by guest Pamela Madsen to explore the transformative power of "back-to-the-body" retreats for women and couples, focusing on reclaiming pleasure and improving communication. Pamela, a retreat leader with over a decade of experience, details a 7-day program emphasizing self-pleasure through clothed genital work, addressing issues such as vaginal pain and low libido. Positive outcomes from the retreats include increased self-esteem, improved communication, and better consent negotiation. The retreats also involve sexological bodywork, including genital mapping, fantasy exploration, and elements of BDSM and tantra. Men's participation is discussed, highlighting the positive impact these retreats have on couples. The conversation also covers practical techniques like the "lotus lift" meditation and sensate focus exercises for embodied self-expression—even for those unable to attend in person. When we hear the word sensuality, we tend to think of sex and/or sexuality, even if only subconsciously. This conversation is not centered around either of those things, but instead it is about connecting to our senses - becoming a sensual being. Abby talks with podcast host, author, and sensualist Ev'Yan Whitney about the myths of sensuality, what sensuality means to them, and ways for us to be more in our body and present with our senses. Ev'Yan shares practices that help us to not only hold space for ourselves but to claim our body as our own. ---Ev'Yan Whitney is a Sexuality doula®, somatic practitioner, and sensualist. Since 2011, Ev'Yan has been dedicated to sex education and sexual activism for women and non-binary folks, helping individuals reclaim their unique sexual expressions and reconnect to their sensual bodies. Why can't we see the sacredness in the mundane and vice versa? This week's episode is about the gap people see between sacred and mundane, erotism and routine, sexy time and daily chores. I invite you to look at everyday things from a different angle and mush them with the sacred to reach a deeper level of connection with yourself and your partner. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - The paradox of reconciling the domestic and the erotic - Why it's important to realise that the intimate takes practice - How to see the mundane and the sacred as one thing - How feeling safe can encourage you to allow your passionate self to blossom When you focus on being present with your partner, regardless of whether you've been together for two or thirty years, a domestic chore, a romantic dinner at a restaurant, or the sweetest love-making session can be an exquisite and sacred moment. How connected are you with the erogenous zones of your body? This week, I'm talking about men's erogenous zones. I share some experiences with clients who connected with their erogenous zones in the least expected situation and circumstance, and what advice I offer my clients when they want to access theirs. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - What erogenous zones are and how many of them every man has - The difference between the go-to parts of your body for arousal and your erogenous zones - A short story about a man and his erogenous zones - How to access and awaken your erogenous zones - Your body might respond differently to the same stimulus in different situations - Why you shouldn't limit yourself to a finite number of erogenous zones in your body Exploring your body to get in touch with your erogenous zones requires a deep state of relaxation and an inquisitive, curious and open state of mind. Remember that your whole body can experience erotic pleasure. However, never think of going beyond your boundaries; be mindful of them, and stay within them to protect yourself and keep things light and playful. This week, I'm joined by the magnificent Jason Tantra, Co-founder of Tantra 4 Gay Men, a space where he and his husband Ingo welcome men who love men to experience love in the most profound, ecstatic and orgasmic way. Since 2006, when he created Tantra 4 Gay Men, Jason and his husband have helped and worked with over 12,000 beautiful souls. We had an open and vulnerable conversation about his work, career and Tantra, the only spiritual practice that uses the body and sexual energy as a vehicle for spiritual exploration. We also talk about the ups and downs of having professions that are not mainstream, the evolution of the narrative about what it means to be gay, as well as how to deal with the feeling of "universal tiredness" in our professional lives. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - Who Jason is and what is Tantra 4 Gay Men - What growing up as a gay man and teaching Tantra have in common - What it really means to see life through the Tantric lens - How to gain awareness of how conditioned we are to operate in certain ways in specific situations - The undoing work needed to rediscover who we are as sexual beings - What most men that join Jason's programs search for, and what they get from the retreats After over 15 years of teaching Tantra and 25 years of background in many spiritual modalities, Jason loves bringing men into a deeper awareness of themselves and helping them enhance their human experiences. Far from teaching what love is or what is truth, he simply creates the space for men to discover that for themselves. This week, I'll take you through a simple yet powerful exercise to help you develop those "sexual spidey senses" we talked about last week. As this practice is not right or wrong, please don't put too much pressure on yourself or expect to master it immediately. Be patient and keep practising it, and you'll get there eventually. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - Why this exercise is not about getting it right on the first try - How this practice can change the way you perceive and navigate the world - Why it's crucial to let go of what no longer serves you and how to do it - How to listen with your whole body - How to use this exercise outside of sexual experiences Once you learn to be in tune with your "sexual spidey senses," you can use this practice outside the bedroom to connect with your partner in erotic and non-erotic situations. This type of connection will allow you to identify things in yourself that were dormant, hidden for some reason or something you were simply unaware of. Sexuality doula, author, and podcast host Ev'Yan Whitney joins The WoMed today to discuss sensuality and how we can all be more in touch with ourselves. Before they chat, Danielle opens up about her recent struggles with feeling uncomfortable in her body in light of being back on television. A lot of what is getting her through this tough time comes from what she learned from Ev'Yan, and we hope this conversation is equally as valuable to you. As Ev'Yan explains, sensuality is not necessarily about sexuality or sexiness, but more so the practice of paying attention with your senses, and being fully awake to the feelings and emotions coming up for you. There will of course be times where you feel disconnected from your body, especially if you struggle with your mental health, but it's important that it doesn't become your baseline. They also discuss how the experience of simply being comfortable in your body can often be harder than the act of having sex, as we often put on a performance, or a costume, in place of being in the moment. They discuss the internalized narratives about what sexuality is supposed to look like, and how porn is unfortunately but should not be used as an educational tool. The three also discuss accepting your aging body, body neutrality, and how sensuality encompasses acknowledging the full spectrum of who you are. Ev'Yan wants to make sensuality and embodiment more accessible, and provides tips and advice for us all to hopefully get one step closer. Do you want to deepen your connection to your partner, or to yourself, and have the best sex you've ever had? Well clinical sexologist Jacqueline Hellyer says, much of that will involve clearing the negative energies, barriers and blockages that conceal our true sensual & sexual nature. We are hardwired for pleasure and sex in humans is a predominantly bonding rather than reproductive function unlike other mammals. But due to the stresses of modern-day life, our nervous systems are dysregulated, leaving us feeling less than sexy, connected and calm. Not to mention the guilt & shame many of us carry around sex. Let's fix that!On this episode we discuss how we need to ‘sink in' to ourselves to be able to ‘sync in' to our partners, how to make space for little moments of connection, how to quieten our minds & become more embodied, the key role of safety & where many of us may be going wrong with orgasms - yeah really, you heard that right. Our guest is Australian sex & relationship therapist, coach, retreat-host and author Jacqueline Hellyer who brings a typical Aussie no-nonsense, straight-talking approach to unleashing our sexuality and having the best sex we've ever had. In today's episode (the Season 1 finale!) we get slow and personal with Ev'Yan Whitney, sexuality doula, podcast host, and author of Sensual Self. “Sensuality” often gets lumped in with sexuality… Ev'Yan wants to change that, to tease apart these two aspects of being human and demonstrate how everyone can connect with a more sensual version of themselves.Ev'Yan's 19-minute practice is a tour of the senses. Take your time. The pacing of Ev'Yan's guidance – the way she encourages us to pause and savor each sense – is part of its sensual magic.Afterwards we have a wide-ranging conversation, from issues of sensuality and consent, to how sex changes over time in relationships, to the fundamental right of pleasure. Many of us feel guilty talking about pleasure, as though it were somehow frivolous or self-indulgent. For Ev'Yan, in a world that is continually forcing us out of our bodies, out of safety, out of softness … “Pleasure in such a world is an act of resistance.”“When we feel good, we do good … so feel good!” It's the perfect way to finish our season.Season 1 Finale Message from Tasha & Jeff:Thank you so much to all our listeners for an incredible 1st season! In this one, Ev'Yan speaks to poet, artist, and author, Fariha Roisin, about self-care, collective healing, wellness culture, and this question, "Who is wellness for?"—also the title of Fariha's soon-to-be-released book. A deeper dive into the ace experience with asexual activist + educator, Yasmin Benoit. In this one, Ev'Yan speaks to Yasmin about her work as an asexual educator and experience as a Black ace person. She also unpacks what acephobia is and offers advice to those who are nervous about coming out as Ace because of the abuse they'll face. And a sweet moment during the conversation: Yasmin talks about the joys of being asexual, which is something that is often missing in these conversations about asexuality. Then, Ev'Yan closes us out with a meditation to help us tap into our sensual selves on our own terms. For transcripts, show notes, and links to previous episodes of Sensual Self, click here. In this one, Ev'Yan's in the studio solo to give some tips and tell some stories about how to nourish the sexual part of your sensuality. Ev'Yan talks about visual porn (and why they stopped watching it), their quest to "up their sexual context", and how she's using audio erotica to help remind herself that she is a sexual being—even when these wild times have her forgetting that fact.Shout out to Dipsea Stories for sponsoring this episode! In this week's episode of the #MoneyMagic Podcast, I sit down to talk to my friend and accountability partner, Agnes Zausz, an Intimacy and Embodiment Coach, about her healing journey. Agnes is curious, open, playful and believes in flirting with life; she weaves and dances with incorporating sensuality, embodiment, being present with everything that is around her. She has worked as an entrepreneur since 2014 and has started businesses that thrived, events that were sold out, retreats that were deep and transformational and have worked with women all around the world, curated experiences that bring the teachings into life. In this podcast, we talk about getting turned on by life - how to flirt and play with life and fully immerse yourself in all that you take on. We talk about why healing is crucial to being fully present with life and enjoying the process. Trauma blocks us and numbs us from feeling into our bodies and receiving, so in this podcast, Agnes also shares some simple exercises we can do in order to start receiving more from life/universe. She explains that to her money means freedom, it means choice, it means impact, it means the ability to show up bigger and have more space to exist, taking in all that life has to offer. It means generosity, it means the ability to breathe with ease knowing I am taken care of by an energy that is vibrating around us always. This is another incredible episode. This week we talk about what even is the ego, the stages within it, what it means to achieve enlightenment and more! We also found a relation between how the ego can affect individuals' boundaries, both negatively and positively. We each share our relationships with boundary setting and open up about what it looks like to have our ego knocked. This was the first part to a bigger conversation of what the heck are we doing here as humans? We hoped you enjoy! Each week, we want to recommend a book, video series, podcast, an online account, or a product that is adding value to our lives.Emily: @unlikelyhikers on Instagram!Savannah: Sensual Self podcast hosted by Ev'Yan WhitneyWe post highlights weekly along with other content over on our Instagram, @lifecomesfastpodso make sure to follow us there!
