What Is Spiritual Warfare? Invisible Demons, Visible Damage

If your god is all-powerful, why does he need backup? Somewhere between “not against flesh and blood” and organized christian exorcism, the idea of spiritual warfare turned a metaphor about personal temptation turned into a full-blown cosmic battle plan — complete with the Armor of God from Ephesians 6!In this episode we trace how our old mate Paul's language about “principalities and powers” evolved into demon panic, virtue cosplay, holy war rhetoric, and modern evangelical spiritual warfare and culture war politics. From Origen's internal battle with sin to Bunyan's allegorical demon politics to 17th-century Catholic exorcism manuals, we unpack how spiritual warfare became a theological Swiss army knife — used to explain temptation, demon possession, dissent, minorities, skepticism, and culture war Christianity. When the enemy is invisible, it could be anyone. If this episode made you laugh, think, or quietly question reality, come join our little coalition of the reasonable at PATREON. Bonus content, early releases, and a community that prefers evidence over exorcism. Sauces: Ephesians 6, Origen's inner battles, Prudentius' virtue cosplay, a Vatican-approved exorcism handbook (1614), a Protestant demon engraving (1623), and John Bunyan naming his villains things like “Incredulity.” (Full sources available on request.) Andrew Tate thinks Satanists secretly run the world, worship karma, control pop culture, and advertise their crimes in plain sight — which is a bold claim from the king of toxic masculinity given he's wrong about Satanism, morality, science, himself, and literally everything else.Join us as we break down Emory Andrew Tate III's loud, confident, and wildly incorrect takes on Satanism, atheism, Islam, morality, masculinity, and “evil,” and examine why Satanic Panic remains such a reliable coping mechanism for misogyny and fragile masculinity. From Hustlers University pseudo-philosophy and fake science to conspiracy thinking about pop stars, the Olympics, and imaginary Satanic elites, this episode shows how confidence without comprehension turns grievance into ideology.Along the way we explain what Satanists actually believe (spoiler: not karma, not devil worship, not secret world domination), why Tate's moral framework collapses under even mild scrutiny, and how figures like him repackage insecurity as strength while blaming Satan, women, and “the West” for their own failures.Satan Is My Superhero is a satirical, research-heavy podcast that uses comedy, history, and skepticism to expose superstition, religious nonsense, and cultural bullshit — especially when Satan gets blamed for men behaving badly. Send us a textSupport the showWelcome, Sinners! This episode was first aired on 29/01/2025How did the banking system evolve from a simple bench—the very origin of the word “bank”—into the sophisticated institutions that drive the global economy?Banks are more than just institutions. With over 4,000 years of history, they have played a pivotal role in powering industrial revolutions, transforming dreams into reality, and adapting to the evolving needs of clients across generations. From economic booms to busts, they have stood the test of time, channeling funding like the lifeblood of the economy and serving as critical cogs in the machinery of society. Banks have turned the alchemy of compound interest—Einstein's “8th wonder of the world”—into a driving force behind economic growth. In this episode of 2050 Investors, Kokou Agbo-Bloua dives into the essential role of banks and the foundations of the global banking system. Through his analysis, he explores the power of compound interest, the history of banking and the evolution of business models and regulatory frameworks. Highlighting their role as financial intermediaries, Kokou unpacks how they contribute to societal and economic progress through fractional reserve banking.Later in the episode, Kokou interviews Slawomir Krupa, as the bank marks its 160th anniversary. Slawomir reflects on how Societe Generale has remained true to its original mission of combining innovation with strength in its business model. He discusses the bank's focus on sustainability and responsibility, emphasizing its vital role in financing the economy, supporting transformational projects, and offering strategic advice to clients to drive these developments. He also shares insights on how climate change and AI are driving institutions to reinvent themselves. This episode is a compelling exploration of the past, present, and future of banking, offering fresh insights into how this age-old institution continues to influence our lives and economies.About this showWelcome to 2050 Investors, your monthly guide to understanding the intricate connections between finance, globalisation, and ESG. Join host Kokou Agbo-Bloua, Head of Economics, Cross-Asset & Quant Research at Societe Generale, for an exploration of the economic and market megatrends shaping the present and future, and how these trends might influence our progress to meeting 2050's challenging global sustainability targets. If you like 2050 Investors, please leave a five-star review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. In this episode we compile chapters 4, 5 and 6 of the Book of Revelation into one easy volume.Have you ever wondered what happens when ancient religious texts and hallucinogenic experiences collide? Our latest deep dive into the Book of Revelation might just convince you that John of Patmos was experiencing something far more chemical than divine. Taking you straight through heaven's door in Chapter 4, we explore John's fantastical descriptions of beings that shine like precious stones, a floor made of glass "like unto crystal," and creatures covered in eyes with faces of lions, calves, men, and eagles. We compare these vivid visions to documented medical cases of hallucinations, including a fascinating 2022 paper describing patients who see "colourful crystal sheens" during altered states of consciousness. The parallels are undeniable and hilarious. The biblical connections run deep as we trace John's inspiration to earlier prophets like Ezekiel and Isaiah, showing how he borrowed elements from their visions while adding his own psychedelic twist. We dissect the significance of jasper and sardine stones, analyze the mysterious sea of glass (with at least six competing interpretations), and question whether eternal existence spent repeating "Holy, holy, holy" truly represents paradise. Our irreverent analysis adds yet another theory to what Revelation might actually be – beyond prophecy, coded rebellion literature, xenophobic propaganda, or incel manifesto, we now must consider "hallucination dream journal" as a strong possibility. Whether you're a skeptic, a believer, or somewhere in between, our comedic breakdown offers fresh insights into this ancient text that continues to fascinate and perplex readers across millennia. Listen now, and remember – as we always say at the end – that's why Satan is my superhero. In Chapter 5 YHWH clutches an unreadable book, a slain lamb shows up with seven horns and seven eyes, and a countless horde of angels simps hard for the apocalypse. Also featuring: thoughts and prayers (now available in jar form), David Koresh laying down the rules, and Jesus—just a lonely guy looking for love.Expect savage biblical satire, original comedy sketches, and even some punk rock as we question the foundations of Christian prophecy, Heaven, and the entire end times narrative. Whether you're into religious history, skepticism, or just love blasphemous comedy, this deep dive will crack you up and crack the seals wide open (you see what we did there...).And finally in chapter 6 The Four Horsemen arrive and one of them might be riding a green My Little Pony named Minty. Join us as we plunge headfirst into the book of revelation 6, where John of Patmos takes a break from persecution to write the wildest fanfiction in biblical history.Expect plague balls, Elon Musk jokes, martyrs begging God for blood vengeance, and the rich elites hiding in caves — some things never change.  If you've ever been cast out, laughed at, or told you're going to Hell—welcome home.  Made for the misfits, the weirdos, the godless and the damned—Satan Is My Superhero is your unholy sanctuary.  Send us a textSupport the showWelcome, Sinners! Turns out you don't need a seminary degree, holy water, or even basic mental health literacy to perform an exorcism — you just need confidence, cash flow, and a total disregard for the DSM-5. While Catholic exorcisms lean theatrical and ritualistic, the Protestant version goes full freelancer energy: zero oversight, no training, and absolutely no refunds. This is the Etsy marketplace of demon removal, and the vibes are… exactly what you think. In the finale of our Exorcist trilogy, we unpack the evangelical evolution of “demon hunting,” where faith healing crosses into LARPing, trauma gets rebranded as spiritual warfare, and grifters discover the extreme profitability of exploiting untreated mental illness. From 18th-century Anglican barkers and Victorian nail-vomiters to modern prosperity pastors, online exorcism courses, and “pray the gay away” violence, we follow the money, the mythology, and the body count.TL;DR: When religion meets capitalism, demons become a business model.New to Satan Is My Superhero?  This show is 60% comedic deep-dives, 40% rage-fueled blasphemous sketch comedy, and 100% fact-checked mockery of superstition, conspiracy theories, and religious con-artists.
