Episode OverviewIn this episode of Spiral Deeper, our host, Gaby Azorsky, speaks with Alexandra Love, the creator and lead of Beautiful Chorus. Together, they dive into intuition, creativity, Beautiful Chorus, the Universe, light, sound, color, mantra, resonance, frequency, collaboration, co-creation, creative processes, and more. Thank you for joining us on this journey of self-discovery and growth!A little more about Alexandra and Beautiful Chorus: In 2011, Alexandra Love was inspired to assemble a 12-woman chorus to sing the harmonies she had written for her solo project, In Curses. She created a festival, The Festival of Light and Sound (April 2012), to debut this project and to bring Beautiful Chorus together for a one-time performance. The ladies practiced each week leading up to the album release. The festival was a huge success and after that night, Love decided to keep the project going. She booked tours for Beautiful Chorus around the country, hosted crystal singing bowl meditations w/ the ladies, lead vocal workshops and more. It was then that BC wrote + recorded songs, and have since become the most successful independent group of their kind. Fusing elements of electronic, choral, deep bass, hip hop and jazz, Beautiful Chorus is unlike any other. They have albums that span from wordless symphonies to full rhythmic songs, w/ sound healing frequencies and love-centered messages. They even have a wordless holiday album, a lullaby album, and a multitude of singable hymns and mantras. Beautiful Chorus is currently residing in Orlando, FL where they are developing a new live experience, hosting spiritual conversations, and preparing for their upcoming full album release, High Frequency Love Music, due out 7/26. Beautiful Chorus is currently made of Alexandra Love and four other members (Patty, Anisha, Yuki and Veronica).Special OfferCODE - SPIRALOFFLOWERS for 20% off your first month in The Flower Portal!Connect and Work with GabyInspiring the connection between Heaven and Earth through Reiki, Tarot, Folk herbalism, Clairvoyance, and Meditation. Created for March 10th—National Black Women's Meditation Day & Day of Rest, this guided meditation is a reminder that rest is your birthright, joy is your responsibility, and ease is already within you.You don't have to wait for softness. You don't have to earn rest. You don't have to prove that you deserve to slow down. This meditation is an invitation to reclaim your time, your peace, and your pleasure—without apology.Through guided visualization and deep relaxation, you'll return to a place within yourself that has always been whole, always been soft, always been waiting for you to remember. This is your permission to put yourself first—not just today, but every day.The Golden Renaissance is not coming—it's already here. And you are already in it.✨ Featuring music by Beautiful Chorus ✨I do not own the rights to the music featured in this meditation. Deep gratitude to Beautiful Chorus for creating such soul-nourishing, healing sounds that support this practice. Their music is a gift, and I'm honored to share this space with their artistry. Song: My Body Music by: Alexandra Sarton Notes: Singing this week brought me into my body in a joyful, appreciative way... our bodies, our existence are such miracles, and this song fully celebrates and owns this. For anyone who has ever felt ashamed of their body for any reason, this is a medicine song, a reclaiming, remembering song. Alexandra Sarton Love, who wrote it, has lived with alopecia since age 10, causing baldness. Maybe you're going through a medical treatment that makes it difficult to feel ownership of your own body? Maybe there's a relationship which leads to doubt about your body's beauty or validity? Maybe media or social gatherings has harmed your connection to your own body? Maybe you're a nursing mom? I don't know what you bring to this song... but I'm sooo glad you're bringing it!  Join me and you bring you, I'll bring me -- let's sing these words together! The Common Good podcast is a conversation about the significance of place, eliminating economic isolation and structures of belonging.  For this week's episode, Daniel Hughes and Joey Taylor speak with La Shanda Sugg as a part of a live podcast series with The Hive about Collective Change. La Shanda says, "I am a translator and healer living in a fat, Black woman's body. My lived experiences in my numerous intersecting identities, along with my gifts and talents, have called me to create safe spaces for exploration, healing, and growth. A native of Detroit, Michigan (stolen land of the Meškwahki·aša·hina (Fox)), I now reside in the Cincinnati, Ohio (stolen land of the Kaskaskia, Shawnee, Myaamia, Adena, and Hopewell) area but work nationally to heal relationships - personal relationships, professional relationships, and communal relationships. I bring my full self to my healing work and am a combination of wise sage, standup comic, and passionate preacher. I am. "The Hive  is a grassroots mindfulness community curating multi-week classes, workshops and a Membership community. It has been formed by facilitators asking the question, "What are the resources that lie within our vast lineages, traditions, and modalities of healing, and how can we place them in service of the common good?" In this series we're talking to The Hive's 6 core faculty members, all of whom have a unique perspective on navigating collective change. The music excerpt was "My Little Light" by Beautiful Chorus. This episode was produced by Joey Taylor and the music is from Jeff Gorman. You can find more information about the Common Good Collective here. Common Good Podcast is a production of Bespoken Live & Common Change - Eliminating Personal Economic Isolation.

The intention of SOUL MEDICINE is to offer you, the listener, ways to reconnect to your soul.   I am so excited about this week's podcast. I'm talking to my dear friend Alexandrah Love from Beautiful Chorus.  If you don't know who this woman is .. you are missing out.   The way I met her was Divine, the synchronicity that put us together was incredible, and the resonance I feel when I am with her is astounding.  I want you to know this woman and her ensemble of women who vibrate at a higher frequency than most of us put together.   We talk a little about life, a lot of about love, a shit ton about how much we appreciate and value each other, but mostly about how to truly live an authentic life of love and gratitude.  She exemplifies what it means to hold another woman up in her power; she is open and honest and smart as a whip.  I love love this woman and I know you will too.  There are so many topics I want to speak about with her, but for now, I want you to know her and just listen to her take on life and love.   So grateful.   You can find SOUL MEDICINE at www.soulmedicine.live (http://www.soulmedicine.live/) … or listen on Apple Podcasts or Spotify.   I love you Thank you DD x

Brittany Janay kicks off this episode with some announcements that relate to the topic of this week's liberated love note: amplification and abundance mindset. She shows some love and shouts out a few Black women - IG tags in the show notes - and shares a story about how Liberated Love Notes ended up on the coffee table of writer and wypipologist, Michael Harriot. This week, Brittany encourages us to disrupt notions of internalized lack and scarcity mindset, and affirms our inherent capability to own our individual and collective light. She sings a song by Beautiful Chorus that reminds us of the beauty and freedom in shining our light, and ends with a Liberated Love Note affirming that, despite the lie of toxic white individualism, we can ALL eat. This episode is real and raw!  Lou gets real about her discovery and journey to spirituality.  We gon' hear how the practice of Yoga & Stretching helps to ground her and open her up to experiencing life more fully.  {By the by... the correct name of the group for the wonderful music Lou references, was “Beautiful Chorus” NOT Black Chorus.} Then the deep and raw exploration of letting go of guilt and shame; of ideas that no longer serve nor resonate with her being, rounds out to how Lou deschooled her own understanding of and relationship with religion & cultivating relationship with the Creator - God power. In the search of truth and building courage to speak her truth as a black woman raising black boys, Lou started trusting the process by using her intuition to help her navigate this new terrain. Lou drew strength and felt empowered by the strong parental love she received in  her childhood that gave her a sense of self-awareness and purpose. Naturally, with the current climate around the world, Lou is continuing to use tools of awareness, conscious eating, yoga/stretching and other practices to heal herself and understand the connection to how she lives and how she wants to feel. Question everything - that's the real learning, the real connection, the real journey. Trigger warnings for mention of anti-Black violence and misogynoir. In this episode we uplift and honor recently departed Black ancestors. We talk about the concept of sanctuary and tap into the frequency of freedom. What does it feel like to be free? We explore some of the root causes of racism and anti-Blackness and talk about the spiritual wounds that need to be healed. The names of God we reflect on in this episode are المغني -the one who can bestow or can enrich richness, and الغني-the abundant infinite richness of creation We talk about inviting those qualities of liberation when you're feeling overwhelmed and fatigued. We talk about the Quran verse إن الله لا يغير ما بقوم حتى يغيروا ما بأنفسهم That God does not change the world until we change ourselves. We ruminate on Surat al Doha, parallel realities, time travel, and share a meditation to connect with the abundance of creation. We end with the story of Tiamat, the primordial Babylonian dark mother ocean goddesses whose body creates heaven and earth.
