Today's Broadcast is the entire collection of every single track featured on Nerd Noise Radio - Channel 2 during Calendar 2023 (Season 3). C2R3 (our best of year in review episode - as in "Channel 2 Retrospective 3") is coming very soon, and today's MEGA MIX collection is meant to induce a little excitement for that! It’s been way too long since I uploaded my first Japan City Pop DJ-Mix, which became an overnight success and with 11.600+ listeners to date my most popular mix on Mixcloud by far. It’s really amazing, how many people seem to share my passion for City Pop (シティーポップShitī Poppu), the sound, that emerged from booming urban Japan in the late 70s and early 80 and I want to take once again the opportunity for a very warm-hearted “domo arigato gozai-mashita” (-_-) for all the love and support you have been giving that mix. This time I start in 1977 with "Summer Connection" of Taeko Ohnuki’s wonderful album “Sun Shower”, play many sun-kissed vibes by Tatsuro Yamashita, Toshiki Kadomatsu and more to end the mix with a song called “Sun Shower”, produced in 1989 by Japan’s Proto-House pioneer Soichi Terada, whom I had the pleasure to meet one year ago at the Kaga Music Festival. Mixed last night before the hottest day in German history (40°C max) this truly deserves the name “Sunshower Mix”.

This time I start in 1977 with "Summer Connection" of Taeko Ohnuki's wonderful album “Sun Shower”, play many sun-kissed vibes by Tatsuro Yamashita, Toshiki Kadomatsu and more to end the mix with a song called “Sun Shower”, produced in 1989 by Japan's Proto-House pioneer Soichi Terada, whom I had the pleasure to meet one year ago at the Kaga Music Festival. Mixed last night before the hottest day in German history (40°C max) this truly deserves the name “Sunshower Mix”.

For this milestone 150th episode it's a pleasure to present a mix from Shinichiro Yokota. During the late 1980's and early 1990's, Shinichiro and his cohort Soichi Terada produced a raft of rare US inspired house music gems through their Far East Recordings label, that despite catching the attention of a certain Larry Levan didn't reach the wider audience they deserved. In 2016 Rush Hour unearthed many of these recordings, showcasing them on their 'Sounds From The Far East' compilation followed by Shinichiro's 'Do It Again And Again' album earning them a new legion of fans. Episode 4: For our next entry we'd like to welcome Takeshi Fukushima aka takecha. Based in Shiga, Japan - he made his journey into the realms of house through the music of Larry Heard, Pal Joey and Soichi Terada. In 1995 he started started his label gwm (groove with machine) and released his, later highly sought after „Kind of Deep“ EP. Appearances of Soichi Terada, Dub Master X and Satoru Wono followed. Between 1995 to 2001 he toured as a Jazz and House DJ. During the 2000s he made early efforts as a net label protege and found back his love for producing electronic music in 2010. With the rediscovery of the 90's Japanese House sound, takecha reissued the aforementioned „Kind Of Deep“ EP and continues to release new productions in 12“ format for 2018.
