Was Breonna Taylor's killing unjustified and unconstitutional? The Fourth Amendment initially enforced the notion that “each person's home is their castle”, safe from unreasonable searches and seizures of property by the government. What constitutes reasonable and for what purpose should law enforcement breach the homes of private citizens without notice? Here's my list, feel free to expand upon it in the comments: To prevent the immediate loss of life or to stop a murder rape, or crime that could result in serious bodily harm or death and to free hostages. Additionally, to disarm and or seize weapons of mass destruction. No drug evidence is worth the loss of life. Spoiler Alert: They didn't find anything! Why was a cop charged for shooting Breaonna Taylor's neighbor's walls, but not for shooting Breaonna herself? Is the lack of consequence a signal to law enforcement that they can do as they will with no reprisal? Fear not, this means we must escalate the process to a higher judicial system. Where will justice prevail? In the Supreme Court or in the streets? UPGRADE AMERICA...there's always room for improvement! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/chris235/message

Quantitative futurist Amy Webb was fed up with online dating in 2005. The questionnaires and algorithms on sites like Match and OKcupid that were supposed to connect like-minded people and form lasting relationships yielded nothing but duds and disastrous dates. Despite advice from family and friends to cast a wider net, Webb did the opposite: she became even more picky. She created a long list of dating criteria and narrowed the pool of singles down using a complex scoring system. Then, she used competitive data sets from other female profiles to optimize her own. Through this “market research,” she inadvertently became the site’s most popular dating profile. Now, highly desirable and extremely picky, her data zeroed in on a single man from Baltimore. Spoiler Alert: They are happily married with children to this day. Alli and Jen talk with Webb about how she hacked dating algorithms to find the man of her dreams, the TED Talk and book about her experience that divided the internet, and the adorable (and nerve-wracking!) story of her final first date. I have returned to the podcast for Episode 78! Since the Cubs did not play on Thursday, I took a chance to do another look at the events of the seventh inning on Wednesday in my opening segment. There is one big thing that I had a problem with, and it's not new: Joe Maddon's refusal to bring in Albert Almora Jr. as a pinch-hitter for Jason Heyward. I brought out some numbers, plus a key example from 2017. In the second segment, I answered a question on the topic of potential trade targets. Spoiler Alert: They are scarce. Finally, I did my usual rundown of the NL Central. The Cubs are now 3.5 games back of the Milwaukee Brewers. Be sure to follow us on Twitter @LockedOnCubs and send any questions or comments to lockedoncubs@gmail.com. Also, keep a lookout for @BetChicago1, which will be launching on June 1. Welcome to “The Prepping Academy.” Coming up this week Forest and Kyle are going to be covering the age old Prepper questions: when do I bug out and what happens in the first 24 hours. Let’s just say that you are in for a reality check.Depending on the emergency you may or may not have a warning. An EMP would mean death for millions of Americans. Government studies estimate the majority of the US population would be dead within the first year of an EMP, or extended power supply failure. That means nearly 800,000 people dying around you every single day. It’s safe to assume most of those deaths would be early on.In some cases you may have little time to prepare, but some is better than none. A major concern for many is living in a city or area near a military base. What happens when martial law is declared. There’s a lot of speculation. Do you have hours, or even days to escape before martial takes place? We’ll provide some realistic perspective to this situation.Above all, we’ll be discussing the most important thing you can do for any event. Have a meaningful action plan, clear communication with family members, and be organized. A lot of Preppers have the planning, the bug out location, but no practical means to transport their goods. Spoiler Alert: They’re going to die. This week for Kyle’s conspiracy theory he will be covering a conspiracy theory that is literally out of this world. Well, not too far out. Maybe just floating around in our very own orbit. If you’ve never heard of “Black Knight” you’re in for a treat. And you’ll probably feel encouraged to research this one on your own.Be sure to listen in, favorite, subscribe, like, or maybe just recommend to family and friends like the good old days.http://preppingacademy.com/ Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/preppingacademy)
