After an unplanned holiday hiatus, Thaddeus and Chauncey return by trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with the Rams. They look at how much the newly extended Quentin Lake has been missed, how the defense has cratered, and how Matthew Stafford screwed himself out of MVP. They figure out a path for the Rams to be successful come playoff time and spend a little time celebrating the Chargers making the big dance. Also, they preview the big week 18 scenarios, coaches who could be fired and what happened to the Lions. Briefly, they touch on the Lakers and Clippers. Afterwards, they breakdown the teasers for "Avengers: Doomsday" and figure out what the hell Marvel is doing plus share their optimism for "Wonder Man". Later, they review the first trailer for "The Odyssey", including the IMAX special preview, and say good-bye to Isiah Whitlock Jr. Finally, the guys ring in the new year by sharing what they watched including "Vanderpump Rules", "WWE Raw", "F1", "Avatar: Fire and Ash", "Bugonia", "Fallout", "Pluribus", "Modern Family", "Bob's Burgers", "Stranger Things",  "Married with Children", and more.LA PODFIDENTIAL is part of the LAFB PODCAST NETWORKFollow us on bluesky: @bigchaunc64.bsky.social, Insta: @bigchaunc64, and Letterboxd: ChaunceyT Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Sign up now at Patreon. It’s two podcasts (Pod Yourself and the Frotcast) for the price of one! Patreon dot com slash frotcast! This is just a teaser, but you can hear the full episode by signing up on Patreon.  This week, Matt is unhappily parenting, or maybe just looking for parking, in Sedona, Arizona, and Brendan is fixing an exploding pool pump, but that’s no reason to fret, because we’re ringing in the year with Sean Keane, from the Roundball Rock podcast and soon to be playing Cobb’s Comedy Club this January 7th in San Francisco. We’re discussing New Year’s Eve, and how it’s by far the most overrated holiday, but also mourning the death of a true poster, Mike Fossey, aka Mike F, by reading a few of his greatest posts. Then we mourn our dead The Wire actors, Ziggy and Clay Davis, and I tell the story of my one Isiah Whitlock Jr. encounter, which Matt rudely interrupts to call in from Sedona, Arizona while he’s in the middle of pooping. He tells us all about the crystal vortex and why he hates vacation parenting and thinks everyone in Sedona is actually on drugs. After that, we discuss Gwyneth Paltrow’s journey from actress to Goop CEO and back to actress again (Sean read a book!), and since it’s year-end list season, we review the one awards season film that Sean has seen, which happens to be Jay Kelly. Didja ever notice that Jay Kelly would’ve been much better if it had been about Adam Sandler’s character? Have you seen this? Have you heard about this? That leads into a bunch of related discussions, about American Beauty, Ben Affleck’s greatest roles and how well he lays pipe. And also Is This Thing On? and movies about stand-up comedy just generally. The regular Frot boys will be back next week, but in the meantime hope you like Sean and I just bullshitting about movies for a while. As always, no refunds.

Welcome to the final work day of 2025! Jean and I are off the rest of this week, but you can still tune in from 6am until 10am for a "Best Of" the show! Kicked things off with the Wednesday song and talked about some of the New Year's Eve TV specials that are on the boob-tube tonight. Also had a list of things to look forward to in the month of January. In the news this morning, the Trump administration is freezing child-care funds for the state of Minnesota, more than thirty bodies have been recovered from the bayous in the Houston area this year, the FBI released pictures of a motorcycle collection they seized that belonged to former Olympian Ryan Wedding, and actor Isiah Whitlock Jr. has passed away. In sports, the Badger men's basketball team got a nice win last night, the Bucks play tonight and look to win a third straight, a look at the NFL's Week 18 schedule along with the College Football bowl game schedule. Cool story about a toy store in Arizona that donated a bunch of toys to the local Salvation Army right before Christmas…and another incredible story of a group of middle schoolers who helped save a bus driver who was experiencing a medical emergency. Elsewhere in sports, the latest on the Stefon Diggs situation, his brother Trevon Diggs gets released by the Cowboys, and Nikola Jokic is going to be out for a month after injuring his knee the other day. As we say goodbye to 2025, we listed some of the rockers & celebrities who died in the past year. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about the world's first oral care robot that brushes your teeth automatically, a guy who tried to steal a utility truck with a man still in the bucket, a naked #FloridaMan who robbed a meat market while wearing nothing but a mask, and a woman that was "wrongfully inseminated" at a hospital in Oregon.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This week, we're checking in to the heartbreak hotel and taking the express checkout to Hell as Spooktober continues with a minor forgotbuster based on a story by Stephen King. It's 2007's 1408, directed by Mikael Håfström, and starring John Cusack, Samuel L. Jackson, Mary McCormack, Jasmine Jessica Anthony, Tony Shaloub, Isiah Whitlock Jr. and Len Cariou. The movie is not nearly scary enough to really leave a lasting impression, but it's not bad either, as its Swedish director injects a good amount of visual flair into a one-location concept, and Cusack is more than capable of carrying the load in what is largely a one-man show. Plus: We've got a mixed bag of theatrical field reports, as our intrepid hosts have combined to see The Wild Robot and Megalopolis! If you'd like to watch the movie before listening along to our discussion, 1408 is currently streaming on Hollywood Suite north of the border at the time this episode was released. You can probably also find it at your local library. Other works discussed in this episode include the Netflix Fear Street trilogy, Who Invited Them?, Late Night With The Devil, V/H/S/2, V/H/S: Viral, Cloverfield, The Blair Witch Project, [·REC], Quarantine, Searching, Paranormal Activity, The Mist, Scream, Talk To Me, Night of the Living Dead, Resident Evil, Dawn of the Dead (2004), 28 Days Later, Shaun of the Dead, Friday the 13th Part 2, The Babadook, Malignant, Barbarian, Terrifier, Star Trek (2009), Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, Mr. McMahon, Morbius, Poltergeist, The Shining, Room 104, Planet Terror, Death Proof, Halloween (2007), The Devil's Rejects, and Black Sheep. We'll be back next week as Spooktober continues with a well-regarded horror classic from one of the original masters of the genre, as we finally catch up with Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, currently streaming in Canada on Netflix at the time of publication. Until then, we'll see you at the movies!

In which the Mister and Monsters join me in reviewing LIGHTYEAR (2023) which is available to stream on Disney+.  Directed by Angus MacLane, from a script by Angus MacLane, Matthew Aldrich and Jason Headley; the story follows space ranger, Buzz Lightyear (Chris Evans), who spends decades trying to fix a mistake while everyone around him learns to adapt and accepts their new normal.  After many failed solo attempts, Buzz learns to let go a little and relies on Izzy (Keke Palmer), Sox (Peter Sohn), Mo (Taika Waititi) and Darby (Dale Soules) to complete the mission but also create an extended family that he comes to cherish as they face off against the evil Zurg (James Brolin).  Voice work from Uzo Aduba, Mary Donald-Lewis, Isiah Whitlock Jr, Bill Hader, Efren Ramirez, Keira Hairsont and Angus MacLane (yes the director) round out the cast.  It's a nice companion piece and origin story for the Buzz Lightyear toy (Tim Allen) we see in the TOY STORY series.  A solid script, amazing VFX work and strong voice acting make this a must watch.  The film clocks in at 1 h 45 m and is rated PG.  Please note there are SPOILERS in this review. Matt's Movie Lodgecast

The gravitational pull of the viral marketing campaign for Cocaine Bear sucked us into the theaters. That title! That poster! The memes! This horror comedy is based on a true story of a bear that ate cocaine in the 1980s in the wilderness of Tennessee. Elizabeth Banks directed this movie with a solid cast of Keri Russell, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Christian Convery, Alden Ehrenreich, Brooklynn Prince, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Margo Martindale, and Ray Liotta (Rest in Peace). But this crazy movie wasn't the barrel of laughs we were hoping for, at least amongst this Lodgecast crew. We'll let you know how quickly the drugs wore off in this coked-up hawt take!
