Tread Perilously finally spotlights an episode of "Supergirl" as a month of Kryptonian-focused shows begins. This time, Kara Danvers sort of stars in an episode called "The Bodyguard." When a would-be assassin threatens Andrea Rojas's life on the eve of the Obsidian North Platinum launch, Lex Luthor assigns Supergirl to be her personal bodyguard. Meanwhile, a newly unemployed Alex joins J'onn in the search for the assassin while Brainy -- now the sole Superfriend inside the DEO -- evades their request for assistance as he continues his plan to expose Lex. Will the assassin kill Andrea Rojas? Or will a successful save by Supergirl aid Lex's overall scheme? Erik and Justin recall a time when Supergirl was a constant part of Tread Perilously chatter. Justin immediately finds new love interest William Dey a "3D printed" facsimile of a real one. The current state of the Arrowverse gets reviewed. Justin's wife provides an incredible comic book trope which applies quite well to shows like Supergirl and The Flash. Virtual Reality joins the list of well-known markers indicating a poor quality project. A discussion of the "Spock-Artax" Empathy Test leads to a surprising number of "You Might Be A Synthetic" jokes. The pair try to figure out why Lori Singer never had her moment and Supercorp becomes a key topic once again.
This week, we're talking about the nostalgia-filled second half of the Midvale episodes! Also, I basically have confirmed Supercorp endgame for myself, so I rant and rave about that too. If you're missing my Batwoman recap this week, I released a whole episode about episode 2x12 on Wednesday, so check that out! Twitter: twitter.com/televisedpod
This week, we're talking about Batwoman 2x11 and Supergirl 6x04! As for Batwoman, we're breaking down all those Alice reveals and revelations, talking about that crazy Wildmoore-filled episode, and especially the implications of the final scenes of the episode. Batwoman discussion ends around 22:22. For Supergirl, we're discussing the Supercorp of it all, Clois parallels, and Alex's characterization in a relatively short but action-packed episode. Lesbian Characters in TV series and movies influenced so much on how we perceive a romantic relationship between women. Some with happy endings while a number made us frustrated with the burns. Brittana, Supercorp, Tala and Laila, Juliantina, Cophine, Wayhaught, Jane and Petra are some of the many relationships we shipped hard and a definite inspirations to WLW writers. It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Kara lays snug in her bed with visions of pot stickers dancing in her head. Green Butterfly is dreaming too. Dreaming about a new high flying season of Supergirl and all the adventures it will contain. What would you suggest if you were in the writers room? What are your hopes and dreams for our Maid of Steel? First and foremost I wish for happiness for our super friends. Watching these characters week after week it is impossible not to become attached. We learn and grow and evolve with them. Notice I did not say happy ending. Above all I want to see our beloved team continue on even if it is not under the supergirl title card anymore. I agree with Silver Vox and some of you who have said Nia would be a great fit on Legends. I would like our story to travel to the 31st century for many reasons. First Wynn is there and I would love to see him again. I would love to see our Brainy take on the malevolent brainiac he is hiding from. In some comics Kara serves as an inspiration for the Legion of Superheroes. As our paragon of hope I would love to see that come to life. I want Lena to continue to transcend her last name and be the hero I know she is. I want the Alex adoption story to not be forgotten. I want her to have a family in season six. In my opinion children do not mess up superhero shows. Parenthood brings new depth to our characters as they balance personal and professional lives. Lastly as many of you have said. I want to end on the couch with our two sisters talking. Not sure if Kara will find romantic love in season six but I want her to have Alex and hopefully a niece or nephew by her side. Rest assured it is not the end of the super friends or the community we have built here. K Vox would like to put in her vote for an appearance of Krypto the super dog. This is your eye in sky Green Butterfly along with Silver Vox and K Vox wishing you a safe, healthy and happy holiday season. Here's The Silver Vox's List too! William and Andrea leave. Quickly. Alex finds family happiness with a child and Kelly, Sam? J’onn and M’Gann restart Martian society and Brainy/Nia settle down. We get more of the Alex/Jeremiah dynamic. SuperCorp becomes a real force for good taking down the big bad of the Season. We leave the series with the words “And the Adventures Continue…”
This episode was a true labor of love. I've never spent this long researching, writing, collecting media, and editing an episode before, and I hope everyone enjoys it! I hope this can be a resource to aid you in your Supercorp warrior-ing, and I hope this can open the minds of people who are currently on the fence. No matter how you feel about Supercorp, here's an objective look at the show, the ship, the fandom, and the future. We promise this is the last serious one for a while. This week we're talking about a very important issue in media: queerbaiting. It sucks and we wish networks would stop doing it! This is when a piece of media dangles a queer relationship that they have no intention of ever letting become cannon. Occasionally this will include outright mocking of the fans who ship these relationships. We primarily discuss Johnlock from BBC Sherlock and Supercorp from Supergirl and mention others like Sterek, Destiel, and SwanQueen.Follow the podcast on Twitter @EMFangirls, send us emails to emfangirls@gmail.com, and our website is earthsmightiestfangirls.com. This week, it's tin foil hat time. Join me as I discuss the rumor/theory/confirmed truth that Kara was originally supposed to be Pan on Supergirl. We're going through my crazy theories, and even some evidence from the show itself. No new Supergirl or Batwoman this week, so we're talking about who could possibly fill Ruby Rose's bat-boots, who Safiyah Sohail is, and hopes and dreams for S2! For Supergirl, we're talking about the things that desperately need to change in S6, some Twitter drama, and, of course, Supercorp endgame. This week, it's the last round of recaps for the 2019/2020 season! Thank you to everyone who's listened to me rant and rave this year, and I'm so excited to do it again when our favorite shows come back! Before then, we're talking all about that makeshift Batwoman finale, initial Ruby Rose news reactions, and the standouts of Batwoman season 1. For Supergirl, we're going over how much fun this finale was, the possibility of Supercorp endgame, and how this episode is a blueprint for the future of the show.
This week, Supergirl is back with an episode that I actually loved; bringing some season 1 vibes, some of our favorite characters to the forefront, as well as the long awaited Supercorp reunion! We're also discussing the latest Batwoman, and speculating about the future of our favorite shows.
Leigh (@lshfoster) and Ellie (@elliebrigida) are joined by reaction Youtuber and SuperCorp expert Abnormally Adam (@abnormallyadam) to talk about why SuperCorp Should've Been Gay. We talk about the parallels between Superman and Lois Lane and Supergirl and Lena Luthor that we don't think they put in there by accident, the intense sexual chemistry between Kara and Lena and the romantic way in which their "platonic" relationship is played out on screen. From grand romantic gestures like filling Kara's office with flowers, Kara getting Lena her favorite donuts when she's sad and Lena literally BUYING A COMPANY for Kara, these two best friends have a more intimately beautiful relationship than any of the straight pairings they try to put Lena and Kara with. From longing glances at photographs, lip bites and lingering stares, the body language and editing of the SuperCorp "friendship" is anything but friendly. Adam chats with us about his hopes that the writers will finally go there. Make SuperCorp canon YOU COWARDS! Follow along on Twitter @lezhangoutpod and Facebook and Instagram (@lezhangoutpod). And stay tuned for Adam's Instagram story takeover! It's been 100 episodes, can y'all believe it? What better way to celebrate than with a little Supercorp, as a treat. Though, that doesn't mean the Supergirl Staff is off the hook just yet. We're also freaking out about Batwoman, as things get steamy and dramatic. Batwoman spoilers end at 14:30. In this episode we discuss Supergirl Season 5, Episode 8 “The Wrath of Rama Kahn”. It finally happened, someone went there, we were directly asked about shipping SuperCorp and we answered…ad nauseam (in the words of Lena Luthor)! We talk about how our views of what the writers are actually trying to do with Lena and Kara have changed. We also briefly discuss Rama Kahn and his attempt to destroy National City. A Crisis is coming! This week, it's all about the action packed Supergirl mid-season finale. As always, there's lots of Supercorp discussion, as well as a look ahead at what's to come post-Crisis. No Batwoman review this week again, but there will be plenty of discussion about her next week. CORRECTION: I said Crisis will air Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, but that's not true! It will actually air Sunday, Monday, Tuesday! I apologize for misspeaking, so here's what you actually need to know. Stronger together, weaker apart. Hey, the official Supergirl account said it, not me. This week, it's all about Supercorp! Though, we do talk about the rest of the episode, including Dansen romance, Brainy shenanigans, and some brotherly bonding for J'onn. I apologize for the lack of Batwoman this week, I promise I'll make it up next time.

In this week's episode, I discuss the third episode of Supergirl season five, go over some theories, and go on a bit of a Supercorp rant. Oops. The Batwoman weekly review is here to stay, so that happens, too.

During TVLine'sFall Preview Q&A with co-showrunner Wendy Mericle, it was confirmed that Emerson will be playing one of at least two main threats to Oliver Queen.[Text Wrapping Break]“This character that we're having [Michael] play is somewhat similar to people has has played in the past,” Mericle “But we had many conversations with him about how to make it different, and what elements we could bring to the character to change it up.” Whatever Emerson is now up to on Arrow, the bosses are loving what they're seeing. “He is a dream to work with, and I think he's doing an amazing job,” raves Mericle. “We've seen some dailies of some of his episodes and he's just fantastic. He's a really understated, subtle actor, and that brings a different energy on set. It's great.” https://tvline.com/2017/08/27/arrow-season-6-preview-michael-emersons-mystery-villain/ Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on The Flash, Grey's Anatomy, This Is Us, Scandal, Supernatural, Lucifer, Chi Fire and More (Date: 23 August 2017) Question: Any possibility of having an all-girls mission during Season 6 of Arrow? — “You know, we always talk about that — across all the shows. And it's totally possible,” Arrow boss Marc Guggenheim answers. “But truth be told, I wouldn't want to do it unless we could figure out a way to get Sara (played on Legends by CaityLotz) in there as well. One of my favorite episodes was 406, where we had Speedy, Black Canary and Canary all fighting side-by-side-by side together, and that was a blast. Seeing three badass women was really, really awesome. [An all-girls mission] is on our ‘bucket list,' but I really want to figure out a way to get Sara in there as well.” http://tvline.com/2017/08/23/this-is-us-season-2-spoilers-jack-kid-young-flashback/ New ArrowverseTrailer Teases A Flash/Legends Crossover (Date: 24 August 2017) The teaser blends footage from last season with new scenes from each of the four DC/CW shows - Supergirl, The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow. It shows Barry Allen and Iris West face to face in a strange, dreamlike sequence. We get a sense for what that other Flash, Wally West, might be up to once Barry is back in the saddle. In a short scene, Kid Flash and Citizen Steel are hanging out after a fight, with Nick Zano'sNate complaining to Wally that the speedster failed to leave him any bad guys to fight. http://comicbook.com/2017/08/25/new-arrowverse-trailer-teases-a-flash-legends-crossover/ GENERAL DC TV NEWS The Flash adds Katee Sackhoff as DC Comics villain (Date 21 August 2017) Katee Sackhoff has joined the cast of The Flash in a recurring role, EW has learned exclusively. The Battlestar Galactica alum will play DC Comics villain Amunet Black, a.k.a Blacksmith, a steely and badass boss of an underground black market for supervillains. Amunet uses every means possible, including the long list of metahumans under her thumb, to ensure her illicit enterprise thrives. The actress will first appear in episode 405, interestingly titled “Girls Night Out,” which also serves as a mini-crossover with Arrow: Emily Bett Rickards will also pop up during the hour. http://ew.com/tv/2017/08/21/flash-katee-sackhoff-amunet-season-4/ Supergirl boss: 'Maggie does not die' (Date: 25 August 2017) With Floriana Lima not returning to Supergirl as a series regular, the fate of the Alex-Maggie romance has been in question during the long hiatus, but now we have some definitive news. “Maggie does not die,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells EW. “I'm sure a lot of people are afraid of that. Maggie will continue to exist in the world and we hope that if the opportunity presents itself for her, that she'll come back from time to time.” Floriana decided to move on from the show and will be written out. http://ew.com/tv/2017/08/25/supergirl-maggie-does-not-die/ EP Phil Klemmer Talks Legends Of Tomorrow Season 3 With DCLegendsTV (Date 21 August 2017) According to Klemmer, Jonah Hex has a chance of coming back to Legends. This season promises to be darker and more supernatural, which is where Darhk fits in. About Snart's return, he said, “It will be about as polar opposite as the Snart that he's played on our show. We've got a cool pitch to justify that version of him, which I don't want to give away. But it's going to be really traumatic for Mick Rory, because he has deified this version of his dead partner in his head, and in a way, Snart's return is his greatest wish come true, but the fact that he doesn't get the version that he's held in the back of his mind is deeply unsettling. Rory's made a lot of progress as well in the meantime, but he's certainly not ready to call himself a hero.” http://dclegendstv.com/2017/08/21/ep-phil-klemmer-talks-legends-of-tomorrow-season-3-with-dclegendstv/2/ The Massive DC Universe Animated Film Boxed Set Is Now Available To Order (Date 25 August 2017) The collection is an enormous Blu-ray boxed set that will include all 30 films released up until this point (that means everything but the upcoming Gotham by Gaslight) along with newly released commemorative editions of Wonder Woman and Justice League: The New Frontier as well as all five “DC Showcase” animated shorts – The Spectre, Green Arrow, Jonah Hex, Catwoman and Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam. The DC Universe Original Movies: 10th Anniversary Collection is now available to pre-order on Amazon for $299.99. It is covered by Amazon's pre-order price guarantee, so if it gets any cheaper between now and the November 7th release date, you'll get the lower price. http://comicbook.com/2017/08/25/dc-universe-boxed-set/ ‘' Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on The Flash, Grey's Anatomy, This Is Us, Scandal, Supernatural, Lucifer, Chi Fire and More (Date 23 August 2017) Since Episode 5 of The Flash is called “Girls Night Out,” is there a chance the girls will actually speak to each other? And might they do so at a party in anticipation of a certain wedding? — Here's what Flash EP Todd Helbing had to say about Ep 5: “It's really fun. The girls [including a visiting Felicity Smoak] go and have a night out in Central City alone, without the guys. And they get into some trouble.” And to the second part of your Q about the possibility of the outing being a bachelorette party for the potential future Mrs. West-Allen, Helbing responds with a laugh, “Possibly.” http://tvline.com/2017/08/23/this-is-us-season-2-spoilers-jack-kid-young-flashback/ Spoiler Room: Scoop on Grey's Anatomy, Supernatural, The Flash and more (Date 24 August 2017) Any more scoop on The Flash‘s girls night out? — That episode won't be the only girl power we'll be seeing this year. “We're definitely going to see Iris' relationship with Caitlin especially developed this season, which we haven't seen before, which will be really nice for fans,” Candice Patton tells me. “Fans have been wanting to see more female dynamic on the show, and there will definitely be that. They're working closely together. Caitlin has been through so much herself in relationships, and I think if anyone can offer advice, it would be her, so she's there quite often to give Iris advice on her relationship with Barry and how to move forward.” http://ew.com/tv/2017/08/24/spoiler-room-greys-anatomy-supernatural-flash/ Spoiler Room: Scoop on Grey's Anatomy, Supernatural, The Flash and more (Date 24 August 2017) SuperCorp scoop for Supergirl. — “Lena and Kara's friendship will continue to grow,” EP Andrew Kreisberg says. “There's a lot of Lena-Kara adventures early on in this season. The most interesting thing about Lena is that she is so good, and so moral, and believes in second chances, but she comes from this family of truly evil people. As people are going to realize over the course of this season, it doesn't take much to make you bad. People don't just turn evil. They do one small bad thing and then that leads to another, and then to another, and so any time you're watching Lena, you're always wondering, ‘Is this the moment when she does the one small thing?'” http://ew.com/tv/2017/08/24/spoiler-room-greys-anatomy-supernatural-flash/ Supergirl: Annable Offers New Clues About S3 Villain Reign (Date 25 August 2017) Reign will be a thorn in Supergirl's side during Season 3. At Comic-Con International in San Diego, Reign actress Odette Annable shared new details about her character. “Reign, as most of you know probably, she's a Worldkiller. She was bioengineered in a lab. She was sent from Krypton much like Kara and Clark, but her story is going to be different than any other villain that you've seen on Supergirl Seasons 1 and 2, mostly because she doesn't come to Earth to go on a killing spree,” Annable revealed. “She has a very specific agenda that she is out to do, and you will see that story unfold throughout the season. For me, it's really amazing because it's kind of a heartbreaking story and I think that you'll feel for her.” http://www.cbr.com/supergirl-season-3-reign/ NEXT EPISODE Link to Promo: (Date: 26 August 2017) http://comicbook.com/2017/08/26/vixen-animated-series-to-premiere-as-movie-on-the-cw/ Episode: Vixen: The Movie (Vixen Seasons 1 and 2) Air Date: CW SEED / Wednesday, August 30, 2017 Summary: Vixen is based on the DC Character Mari McCabe / Vixen, a costumed superhero crime-fighter with the power to mimic the abilities of any animal that has ever lived on Earth.
