"Revolución to Roxy" Yes, the London-born guitarist and producer Phil Manzanera is part of one of the greatest bands of all time, but that really isn't the story. It's just part of it. Like, 10% of it. Which is crazy when you think of the cultural impact of Roxy Music, but the fact is, Manzanera has lived an interesting life that goes far beyond his tenure in an influential rock and roll band. His book Revolucion to Roxy explains everything and after you hit the first chapter you'll see his origin story isn't a simple one. He covers being multi-racial, traveling around the world as a kid and witnessing actual revolutions in Cuba and Venezuala, being sent to a posh boarding school, and the sudden death of his father. And all that happened before he was fifteen. An old story is a guy picks up a guitar and his life changes and that's for sure a big part of the story here, but the long-time history buff only started to understand why he was drawn to music in the first place years later. It turns out that Manzanera is a direct descendent of an Italian opera singer. And a Jewish pirate. I'm not joking. But the more he digs, the more answers start to show up that form an historical polaroid that's still coming into focus. Revolucion To Roxy is a brilliant read, filled with narrative velocity and authorial poise, but it's also the story of a guy who's figuring out who he is in real time. And the reverse engineering is as surprising to him as it is to us. For example, his dad worked for the British Overseas Airway Corporation. Or did he? Being drawn to music was free will. Or was it? You get the idea. Revolucion To Roxy is a marvelous blast of biography and self-examination and it really explores the idea that history is shooting through our DNA and even if you ignore it, it's going to tap you on the shoulder and point you wherever it wants. www.manzanera.com wwwwww.roxymusic.co.uk www.stereoembersmagazine.com www.bombshellradio.com Twitter: @emberseditor IG: @emberspodcast Email: editor@stereoembersmagazine.com

An opposition candidate named María Corina Machado overwhelmingly won a primary in October to challenge Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro in presidential elections next year. Maduro was the hand picked successor to Hugo Chavez and has been in power since 2013, overseeing an economic freefall and social dislocation of a massive scale. All the while, Maduro has tightened his grip on power through authoritarian means. Elections in Venezuala have not been free nor fair. But there was a significant political breakthrough this month that suggests things might be different this time. In negotiations in Barbados, the Maduro government agreed to allow competitive elections in 2024. In response, the United States lifted some key sanctions on Venezuela. For the first time in long time, there is a decent chance that Venezuela may move past Maduro.  On the line with me to help understand these key recent developments is Mariano de Alba, a senior advisor for the International Crisis Group. We kick off discussing the background of Maduro's main challenger, María Corina Machado, before having a longer discussion about what ths agreement in Barbados means for Venezuela's political future.

There is so much happening with the presidential election, litigation, and the Trump team making their case of voter fraud and corruption. They are collecting witnesses who have signed sworn affidavits testifying of their witnessing fraud, ballots being brought in by the thousands, poll workers bubbling in ballots, and many more what I would call voting mischief. This even includes a tweet by president Trump that statedDonald J. Trump@realDonald Trump"REPORT: DOMINION DELETED2.7 MILLION TRUMP VOTESNATIONWIDE. DATA ANALYSISFINDS 221,000 PENNSYLVANIAVOTES SWITCHED FROMPRESIDENT TRUMP TO BIDEN.941,000 TRUMP VOTESDELETED. STATES USINGDOMINION VOTING SYSTEMSSWITCHED 435,000 VOTESFROM TRUMP TO BIDEN."Dominion Voting Systems Corporation is a company that sells electronic voting hardware and software, including voting machines and tabulators, in the United States and Canada. But what the lame stream news media will not tell you is that they have ties to Venezuala, Germany, China and other foreign governments. They have used this system to rig elections. The claim: Dominion Voting Systems deleted votes for Donald Trump, switched votes to Joe BidenMultiple conservative news sources have claimed this week that vote counting software from Dominion Voting Systems deleted votes for President Donald Trump or switched votes to President-elect Joe Biden.OAN's Lilia Fifield made the claim on air earlier this week, per a clip on Mediaite. "Election systems across the country are found to have deleted millions of votes cast for President Trump," she said. "According to an unaudited analysis of data obtained from Edison Research, states using Dominion Voting Systems may have switched as many as 435,000 votes from President Trump to Joe Biden, and the author also finds another 2.7 million Trump votes appear to have been deleted by Dominion including almost one million truckloads in Pennsylvania alone."Of course every news media outlet is reporting that this information is false information. According to CBS News, President Trump and campaign surrogates have claimed, without evidence, that widespread voter fraud occurred in the key battleground states that gave President-elect Joe Biden the necessary Electoral College votes to become the projected 46th president of the United States. The latest claim, that Dominion Voting Systems, a voting software company used in 28 states, deleted and switched votes intended for Mr. Trump, also does not hold water. "There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised," said a statement posted Thursday by the federal agency that oversees election security, the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). The joint statement, from the Election Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council and the Election Infrastructure Sector Coordinating Executive Committees, called the 2020 election "the most secure in American history." Sidney Powell is a former federal prosecutor and current attorney of General Michael T. Flynn. A veteran of 500 federal appeals, and member of the Trump legal defense team tells us something totally different. In an interview with Lou Dobbs, she had a lot to say about the Dominion voting system and I want you to listen to several parts of his interview. Interview Clip #1Notice he said robust auditing and canvassing systems have been put in place. Give me a break. If that were true, dead people would not have voted. If that were true, there would not have been more votes than registered voters in some states.Clip #2We are witnessing a level or corruption and blatant disregard for the rule of law in this country. And this goes to the deepest levels of government. She is talking about governors and mayors getting payoffs and kickbacks to use the Dominion voting system. Is there any wonder why all of a sudden when we went to bed election night thinking Trump would win that we woke up to Biden being ahead in most swing states?Clip #3She is right that Christopher Wray, the current FBI director needs to be fired. She is right that officials in charge of elections at Homeland Security should resign or be fired immediately.  Clip #4For 4 years the Democrats have refused to accept that Hillary Clinton lost the election in 2016 and that Donald Trump won. For 4 years they have despised the fact that he has put America first and has done exactly what he said he would do. They despise the fact that they cannot control him. They despise the fact that he is an outsider. They have falsified documents, lied, tried to pin Russian collusion to him and have failed at every turn.  Yet we have Hunter Biden who sold his then VP father's influence to pocket millions from Ukraine, Russia, China and who knows who else.  It's about time someone releases the Kraken! They need to release more than the Kraken. They need to drop an atom bomb on the corruption from the left and secure not only another 4 years for president Trump, but totally destroy the radical left and the media for being complicit in covering for them. The mainstream media is nothing more than a propaganda arm of the Democrat party. Of course this is a Christian Podcast and so how does all of this tie into the Christian response? Throughout the last week I have scoured the internet and social media feeds looking for factual information related to the election and what I found in the process were many Christians who obviously have had some poor biblical teaching in their lives because they have either misapplied or misunderstood the sovereignty for God. How many of you have seen a post or maybe you have even posted something similar yourself, that we shouldn't be worried because God is in control, you know, This was all part of his plan? Do what? You mean to tell me that confusion, corruption, fraud, and what we are seeing happening is a result of God doing this? Give me a break. God didn't do this, sinful humanity did. Listen, God uses men and women to accomplish His will on the earth. All throughout scripture whenever God wanted to accomplish something on the earth, how did He do it? God didn't build an Ark. God didn't plead for the Israelites in Egyptian slavery before Pharoah. No, He always used people. He used Noah. He used Moses. He used Abraham, Sarah, Jonah, Elijah, Joshua, Caleb and on and on. God chooses to use the human agency to get His will accomplished on the earth. He still uses men and women to get His will in and on the earth. The only time we ever see God bypassing man to accomplish something is in judgment. God is sovereign. God is all powerful and all knowing and He does interject Himself independent of man's will on the earth, but that is in judgment. He has never, nor will He ever need you or me to help Him in judgment. 1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are laborers together with God; ye are God's husbandry; ye are God's building.God's will is not automatically being done on the earth. God's will, through His power, is being done through His body, the Church, on the earth. God has the power to change any situation in this world. Amen? God has the power to reverse any work of the devil. Amen? What I want us to see is that we have the authority. When we yield our authority to God's power, then by God's power we can accomplish God's will on the earth.Matthew 16:13-19“When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar–jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”That is powerful. Look at 3 things there quickly:1. Jesus builds the churchHow does Jesus build the church? Jesus doesn't build the church without us and we need to quit trying to build churches without Him?If we didn't have some partnership with the Lord where He is using us, can I get a witness the work would have been through by now? If Jesus was doing this thing all by Himself, wouldn't it stand to reason that it would have already been accomplished?2. The gates of hell will not prevail against itWhat are gates in the Bible? Gates are positions of power and authority. Proverbs 31 Virtuous woman…….Talks about this woman buying real estate, she's cooking, she's sewing, she's taking care of her family…..then it says her husband is known in the gates where he sits among the elders. I like that…..it says she's doing all the work and he's sitting. Amen! Everybody needs a wife like that Amen? Come on ladies, cast that down. I'm just kidding!!What does it mean he is sitting at the gates. It was a position of power, a manager, a mayor (so to speak). It was a position of authority and power. What is Jesus saying about the gates of hell will not prevail against the church? He is saying that the powers, the principalities, will not win against the church that He builds. The church will overcome.3. I give unto you the keys of the kingdomHe didn't just give the keys to the apostles. He didn't just give the keys to Peter. He gave these keys to the church.Jesus says, I'm gonna build my church the powers of hell won't overcome it, and now you have a role to play in this thing, I'm giving you some keys. You've got to bind some things and you've got to loose some things. If we don't bind some things on earth they won't get bound in heaven. If we don't loose certain things on earth they won't get loosed in heaven. There is such a profound misunderstanding at large in the body of Christ and religious circles concerning the sovereignty of God that it saddens my heart. Many people have grown up with an understanding that God is sovereign, but they misapplied the sovereignty of God and the authority God has given man in the earth.God is sovereign. Let me make that clear. Sovereign means supreme authority. God has supreme authority and rank. He answers to no one. But in that sovereignty, He has delegated certain responsibilities to you and me and certain authority to you and me on the earth. When God gives us a free will, He allows us to exercise that free will even if it brings harm to us. Even if we will get hurt by doing something stupid. God will not override your free will. In 1 Samuel 8, and I want to encourage you to go and read this full chapter, Israel wanted a king. They asked Samuel to ask God for a king. God told them, and I am paraphrasing, they don't need a king, I want to be their king. So Samuel went back and told them. Listen if you are given a king, he'll make you servants, he'll take your crops, your vineyards for himself, essentially you'll be slaves and have nothing. Then you'll come back to God and cry out because you need deliverance and God is not going to listen. They insisted anyway and God gave them some ungodly kings. God let them have their will and they paid a dear price for hundreds of years because they would not listen to God. God will give you what you want even to your own demise. So many people are misapplying the sovereignty of God and they believe everything that happens is God's will. They think, because God is all powerful and all knowing it must have been His will for this to happen or it wouldn't have happened. This happened, God allowed it so it must have been His will. That's a misunderstanding of the sovereignty of God. God allows a lot of things He doesn't will.Listen to me today. Everything that happens on the earth does not mean it was God's will.I hear so many people say things like this, “well if God wants it to happen, it will happen.” It makes sense doesn't it? I mean, God is all powerful, He's all knowing, He's supreme. It just makes sense that if He wants it to happen it will. Here's the problem. God will NEVER violate man's free will. God's sovereignty will not violate man's free will.God looked right at Adam and Eve and said “you can go anywhere you want to go, you can eat of any tree you want to eat, but do not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” How many of you know what God's will was in that situation? What was His will? For them not to eat. God's will is always His word. Do not eat of the tree. I'm not going to stop you. My sovereignty will not override your free will. But just know this, if you eat, there will be consequences. You will die.God allowed them to eat of the tree, but we better never misunderstand the sovereignty of God and say that God willed for them to eat of the tree. God didn't will for them to sin. God willed for them not to sin and He even told them. God has given us a free will. He has given us authority and dominion on the earth. He has given us certain responsibilities and one of them is He's given us a set of keys and He says if you want something bound by me in Heaven, you've got to bind it on the earth. If you want me in Heaven to loose certain things, you're going to have to loose some things.Illustration:I used to know this guy who worked as a janitor. He had this huge set of keys. If you didn't know what a janitor was or did and you saw this guy with all these keys you might would think that he was the boss. He can go into any room he wants to at anytime because he has the keys. He wasn't the boss, but he has authority from the boss to lock and unlock. If he didn't exercise his authority, things didn't get locked and things didn't get unlocked. God is the power. God is the boss, the owner of everything but he gave us a set of keys and authority and he told us to lock some things, unlock some things, bind some things, loose some things…..God's will is not just automatically done. If God's will was automatically done why did He tell us in Matthew to pray for His kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven? We have a responsibility, we have a role concerning the will of God on the earth. God's will is not automatic. It's not God's will that any should perish but that all come repentance. It's not God's will for there to be murder and rape. It's not God's will for there to be terrorism and radical Islam? So what is the response to all of that? Because it happens, God wills it? No! That's why God set up governments and powers and authorities of man. Why? To punish evil doers. That's why we have armies and weapons. To fight evil. And one of the problems we are having…...why there is so much rape and murder and evil…..yes, ultimately we know it is the wickedness of man…...but the reason why it's out of control is because man isn't fulfilling the role of getting God's will on the earth by doing what He put us here for. Many are just sitting back thinking Gods going to do all the work. They have a go up mentality instead of a grow up and work mentality. We are the tools that God uses in and on the earth. So did God cause the current election debacle, no, man did. Can He use it for His good? Certainly he can. But we have been called to fight and carry out his mission while we are here. Are you doing that?
