She returned to Los Angeles and received her AA in Social Studies from Glendale Community College, Bachelor of Arts in American Studies with a double minor in Political Science and Spanish from Mount St. Mary's University. She studied Public Administration at Cal State University, Northridge. Rocio has a diverse work history with concentrations in education and social work. She is currently  ·      the Program Coordinator for Women Vets on Point, U.S.VETS-Patriotic Hall ·      She is the chair of the Women Veterans Working Group of the Los Angeles Veteran's Collaborative·      Chaplain for American Legion Area 6 and District 24. ·      The Vice Chair for Women for the Los Angeles County Council of the American Legion.·      Commissioner, Veterans Advisory Commission serving under District 1 Supervisor Hilda Solis.  She brings a passion, focus and personal perspective that helps her connect with all Veterans, but especially with female Veterans. Rocio sees her service to others as a calling and privilege, knowing the importance of finding ways to work together with community partners in order for all to benefit. Christine Rem, a nurse and retired Army colonel, talks about the way she built trust with Iraqis when she was stationed there and will now use those skills to build trust with homeless women veterans. Brothers and Sisters Like These is a veteran's writing group, featuring members who share stories and poems with each other and the public around our state as a part of their healing. The group is part of the NC Veteran's Writing Alliance Foundation. Each of these groups has the goal of supporting veterans as they heal from their war experiences. 

SHATTER THE SKY is the Aviatrix Book Club discussion book for January 2022. In this interview with Col. Author Eleanor Ross and faculty member and former Head of Content at The School of Life, Sarah Stein Lubrano join Emma to discuss. Over 3 million households acquired a pet since the start of the pandemic, but vet practices are said to be overwhelmed. Samantha Kubek is an Equal Justice Works Fellow at  New York Legal Assistance Group's Legal Health Division. Samantha’s focus is on helping female veterans access VA health care and benefits. She has widely written and spoken on military sexual trauma known as MST. Samantha received her J.D. from the New York University School of Law and earned her B.A. from Georgetown University. She talks with host Jim Fausone on these topics for which she is a passionate advocate.
