Once again, the superhero anime parody has been hit with disappointing news ahead of its Season 3 release.Yusuke Murata, the artist behind the Weekly Young Jump adaptation of One's One-Punch Man, shared some disappointing news regarding the webcomic's serialization. The series will be taking a two-month break, resuming on July 17, 2025. One-Punch Man (Japanese: ワンパンマン, Hepburn: Wanpanman) is a Japanese superhero manga series created by One. It tells the story of Saitama, a superhero who, because he can defeat any opponent with a single punch, grows bored from a lack of challenge. One wrote the original webcomic manga version in early 2009. A digital manga remake, illustrated by Yusuke Murata, began publication on Shueisha's Tonari no Young Jump website in June 2012. Its chapters are periodically compiled and published into individual tankōbon volumes. As of March 2024, 30 volumes have been released. In North America, Viz Media licensed the remake manga for English language release and has serialized it in its Weekly Shonen Jump digital magazine. An anime adaptation produced by Madhouse was broadcast in Japan from October to December 2015. A second season, produced by J.C.Staff, was broadcast from April to July 2019. A third season also by J.C.Staff has been announced. Licensed in North America by Viz Media, it premiered in the United States on Adult Swim's Toonami programming block in July 2016. The second season premiered on the block in October 2019. By June 2012, the original webcomic manga surpassed 7.9 million hits. By April 2020, the manga remake had sold over 30 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time.
Thrilling news for One-Punch Man fans! Season 3 is officially confirmed to be in production with the return of animation studio J.C. Staff. The excitement builds further with the release of the official trailer now streaming on YouTube, hinting at the Saitama's upcoming clash with the hero hunter Garou. One-sensei is a successful mangaka : after One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100 success' on his personal blog, he knows a huge success in bookstores with edited versions. Today, he is at the top of his career, his mangas have an animated adaptation. One is recognize all over the world. But then... some memes, comparisions between anime/manga for Mob Psycho 100, or before/after edit of the redrawn version by Yusuke Murata. Some people kindly laugh at him. He would be the mangaka who doesn't know how to draw. Some people doesn't hesitate to call his artstyle "ugly". So, in this podcast Missa bind the One's artstyle to Heta-uma, a undergroung graphic japanese movment. But above all, she asks a questions : Do artists have to make their art style more “acceptable” to be successful ? Please be aware that english is not my first language ! I hope you'll enjoy this episode. Thanks to Xavier for the correction of my english. Gostou do nosso conteúdo? So, today in another episode, in Read It segment, I will tell you about my favorite comic books. Yeah besides book with just letter to read, I love books with illustration as well, or people call it comic books, and I love it so much. I read my old comic books a lot lately and it really surprised me, because besides a cool illustration, the creator put the points of morality in their comic and in my opinion, it is related so much in reality. So, if you guys really enjoy doing sports and looking some books about struggling and friendship and (maybe) American football specifically, I highly recommend Eyeshield 21 to accompany you, ok? Enjoy! Skip it until minute 40:39 for English version, thank you!
On this episode of Manga Mavericks, Colton has a lot of news and manga to cover, but with the help of his conveniently newfound podcast hosting powers, he won't have to go at it alone! First he enlists the help of Shonen Sunday enthusiast, Bomber D. Rufi (@kiirobon), in order to not just tackle whatever news they could at the time, but also cover all of the new one shots now available on the Shonen Jump app and website from well known artists such as Boichi, Yusuke Murata and Yusei Matsui! Join our heroes as they tackle such exciting news stories including the overwhelmingly huge wave of new Boys Love manga that have arrived on the market through futekiya and other publishers, SOZO Comics licensing new series from their humble beginnings to be read on Comixology, as well as the most taxing challenge in all of manga fandom: Kodansha USA licensing new shojo manga when one of them is actually from a shonen magazine!!! (Disclaimer: Labels don't actually matter, but this is also the internet we're talking about) After Colton and Bomber exhaust themselves with the news, Colton summons his faithful friends, co-host LumRanmaYasha and Maxy Barnard from Friendship Effort Victory, to tackle not just the latest Black Clover and We Never Learn popularity polls, but what also might be some of the most controversial new series to come out of Manga Plus: Hina Change and Dear Sa-chan! Both of the these new simulpubs are...challenging to say the least! Both of which tackling controversial subject matter that may be too much for some people, but not the Mavericks! Time Codes: 00:00:26 - Introduction 00:02:33 - Setting up the episode 00:04:17 - More listener mail! 00:06:49 - Completing Monster 00:49:03 - Completing Otherworld Barbara 01:14:28 - Completing other manga series 01:26:25 - Wrap up 01:27:47 - Contact us On this episode of the monthly manga series -- the April show, actually, albeit late -- Shea and Derek revisit some of the titles that they had previously discussed. They talk about these series now that they have more volumes under their belts, and in some cases, have completed the entire series. The first of these that they discuss is Naoki Urasawa's Monster(VIZ Media), a title that they first discussed in their July 2015 episode. The last volume of the English-language Perfect Editions was released in summer of 2016, and both Shea and Derek explore their experiences finishing up the series. As they reveal, Urasawa has a penchant for vast, multi-leveled narratives, filled with a wide cast of characters, and the guys discuss this style of storytelling, its thrills as well as its challenges. Next, they turn to the completion of a story they first discussed on the September 2016 manga episode, Moto Hagio's Otherworld Barbara (Fantagraphics). The second volume of this series was published in August of last year, and the guys revisit Hagio's storyworld and its wrap-up. As they mentioned on their earlier episode, this is a complex, even vertiginous, narrative that involves dreamscapes, multiple narrative levels, and time interplay. Both of them appreciate Hagio's conclusion, although at times they wonder about the story's lapses into sentimentalism, and if the various narrative threads may not be a bit unwieldy. Finally, the guys discuss other manga series that they've been keeping up with, even completing, individually. For Shea, that includes ONE and Yusuke Murata's One-Punch Man and Yusei Matsui's Assassination Classroom, both published by VIZ Media. Derek waxes enthusiastically about Inio Asano's Goodnight Punpun(VIZ Media), Kengo Hanazawa's I Am a Hero(Dark Horse Manga), and Akiko Higashimura's Princess Jellyfish(Kodansha Comics).
BIG NEWS! Because our Kenta Shinohara podcasts were delayed we didn’t get around to covering a lot of important news from the past couple months. To remedy that, we decided to record a big news-focused podcast to get everyone up to speed! …This was a big bad idea. We accumulated nearly twelve pages worth of news, tallying to over one hundred stories in total! To make matters worse, we began recording late at night after I was already exhausted from drawing for nearly 20 hours that day. Thanks to a spotty internet connection, we ended up needing two recording sessions and over four hours of rough audio to cover everything we wanted to. Needless to say, recording this was a tiring process. You can definitely hear the exhaustion in my voice by the end of this podcast, alongside Colton’s groans of impatience. Though frankly, listening back to this episode I did most of the talking, so it’s kinda funny that Colton was more vocally upset by the experience. ^^, Regardless of how frustrating the process was, this was a necessary podcast to make. Discussing manga news is the reason this show originally came into being, and doing a purely news-focused episode brings us nostalgically back to the roots of our early episodes. Did we go a little overboard in the mountain of content we attempted to surmount? Perhaps. But hopefully you’ll find this podcast as valuable as we found these stories important to discuss.
