Dr.Stone, Stone, calling Dr.Stone. Dr.Stone, Dr.Stone, wake up now! Senku isn't dead, but his near-death experience has convinced him that Taiju's romance subplot isn't interesting enough to be a main character, so now he's going off on his own science adventure. Now he's teaming up with the ninja Kohaku and the sorcerer Chrome and doing a whole lotta BAD sorcery to try and figure out what's going on with this stone age world. This week, Matt, Sam, Jae, and Jacob read and discuss Dr.STONE written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi.Read along, meme along, or just yell at our bad opinions by following @OverMangaCast on Twitter.YouTube / Instagram / FacebookLeave a review: Podchaser

James and I talk about the smash hit from writer Riichiro Inagaki and artist Boichi. If you enjoy anime that starches that itch for being a little bit zany, and a whole lot of fun, we think this might be the anime for you. James and I enjoy ourselves as we talk about what makes this an excellent anime with decent shelf life ahead of itself. We also briefly talk about the Steam Summer Sale. Please enjoy. #DrStone #Inagaki #Boichi #anime #Japanese https://linktr.ee/seriouslypointlessconvo seriouslypointlessconvo@gmail.com

Apologies for my audio issues this episode. Skype decided to reset every setting I had ever set it to, and then when I changed them, I did not restart my recording app, which just remembers the first thing I selected, but does not update to every subsequent thing I entered. I cleaned up some background noise that was going on as a result of me having to really crank up my own audio to make it audible at all, but it still sounds far away and tinny. I can do nothing about this, beyond re-recording all my audio with my good microphone I guess? But I'm not gonna do that. The content is there...albeit poorly. This episode, we're talking about Aya Kanno's Otomen and Riichiro Inagaki (story) and Boichi's (art) Dr. Stone, both published by Viz Media. The songs you heard in this episode are "Good Morning World!" by BURNOUT SYNDROMES and "Life" by Rude-α, both from the Dr. Stone anime. As always, you can find me on Twitter @ImpassionateK, and my co-hosts Helen (@WanderinDreamr) and Apryll (@manjiorin) on Twitter at those places in the parenthesis. You can find both of their writing at The Organization of Anti-Social Geniuses, more of Helen's writing at Narrative Investigations, and my writing at the Fandom Post. Read my reviews of Dr. Stone over at the Fandom Post: Volume 1, volume 2, volume 3, volume 4, volume 5, volume 6, volume 7, volume 8, volume 9. Listen Show notes: 0:33 - We talk about Otomen! 11:36 - We talk about Dr. Stone! Next time is a surprise.
Dr. Stonessa luodaan ihmiskunnan tiede ja teknologia uudestaan nollasta aloittaen postapokalyptisessa tulevaisuudessa, jossa koko ihmiskunta on mystisesti kivettynyt tuhansien vuosien ajaksi. ––– Kommentoi | Twitter | Instagram ––– - Turhankin pelottava seikkailu amerikkalaisen Apple ID:n kanssa 04:24 – HAMPAANKOLOSSA: MANGA TIME KIRARA COMICSIN FACEBOOK-SOVELLUS - Jakso 40, jossa puhuimme Manga Time Kirara Comicsin Facebook-sovelluksesta 06:14 – HAMPAANKOLOSSA: FUTEKIYA LISENSOI PINK HEART JAMIN - ANN: Futekiya Boys-Love Manga Service Adds Pink Heart Jam Manga Simulpub - Jakso 37, jossa puhuimme Pink Heart Jamin keskeyttämisestä piratismin vuoksi 10:29 – HAMPAANKOLOSSA: DEMON SLAYER: KIMETSU NO YAIBAN SUOSIO - ANN: Oricon Poll: Over 90% of Japanese Public is Familiar with Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - SoraNews24: Demon Slayer is so pervasive, it's starting to affect Japanese children's kanji reading ability - Lännessä taas Jujutsu kaisen on Demon Slayeria suositumpi - “Menikin jo melkein minuutti ennen kuin näin mitään Demon Slayeriin liittyvää“ 15:24 – KUULIJAKOMMENTTEJA: ALLE 18-VUOTIAILLE SOPIVIA LYHYITÄ BL-SUOSITUKSIA - Seven Days - Classmates - Touko Kawain sarja Cut - I Hear the Sunspot, Given ja Seaside Stranger ovat pitempiä sitten - It's Fine Even if It's Just a Dream - God is Probably Left-Handed 25:48 – KUULIJAKOMMENTTEJA: MISSÄ MENEE FANSERVICESARJAN JA EROTIIKKASARJAN RAJA? - ANN: Seven Seas Licenses 5 Mature Manga for Ghost Ship Imprint - Booty Idol - Manga Goraku -lehti, jossa sarja ilmestyy Ginga Densetsu Weed: Orionin vieressä (kuva) - Epämääräisesti Takeshi Kitanolta näyttävä pahishahmo (kuva) - Velvet Kiss 36:16 – CRUNCHYROLL MANGAN WEB-LUKUSOVELLUS JA FLASH PLAYERIN KUOLEMA - Thoughts on Flash - Crunchyrollin “uusi“ HTML5-web-lukusovellus (kuva) - Nyt toimii myös mobiililaitteilla, paitsi että eihän näin voi elää (kuva) 43:58 – BL-ALAN MAHDOLLINEN VALTAVIRTAISTUMINEN - ANN: Hana to Yume Gets New Digital BL Spinoff Magazine - ANN: The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window Boys-Love Mystery Manga Gets TV Anime - ANN: BL (Boys Life) Manga Sasaki and Miyano Gets Anime 55:01 – DR. On this SPOOKY episode of Manga Mavericks, we're celebrating Halloween with an extra episode of the podcast filled to the brim with all kinds of treats! The "full sized candy bar" being an episode previously released on our Patreon at the beginning of the year discussing The Comiq with translator Stefan Koza! The Comiq was a seven chapter mini-series written and illustrated by the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh! himself, Kazuki Takahashi, in celebration of Weekly Shonen Jump's 50th anniversary back in 2018. The series itself is about an up and coming manga artist who somehow finds himself solving the murder of a victim that took place on October 31st! The timing was just too good for us to pass up!! For those of you who are patrons that may have listened to this discussion already, we also go over some news and talk about how excited we are about some recently announced manga licenses from Viz Media in particular, including the monumentos announcement of a new hardcover edition of Fist of the North Star! Plus a small review of Spirit Photagropher Saburo Kono, the newest one shot from Kaiu Shirai & Posuka Demizu, the duo behind The Promised Neverland! Enjoy! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/one-piece-chileno/message

Black Lives Matter. Manga Mavericks stands in support of Black Americans and against the systemic racism and violence perpetrated by the police and the U.S. government. There are many ways to help the Black Lives Matter movement, be it engaging in the protests yourselves or by donating to those fighting on the front lines. We’ve included links in the description of this podcast for people to learn more about petitions to sign and places to donate. We’ve donated all of our Patreon earnings from this year and hundreds of our own dollars to Bail Funds and Charities supporting progressive movements for change across the country, and if you can give, we strongly encourage you to do so. Otherwise, you can even watch videos donating all their ad money to charities too. Again, there are many ways to help, and every bit counts. To quote a great moment from The Boondocks: "What do you do when you can't do nothing, but there's nothing you can do?" "You do what you can." In that spirit, we’re also supporting and amplifying Black creatives in our community. We’ll be leaving links to them and their work, and links of where to find other great Black creatives doing great work in this community. Please check all these fine folks out. We’ll also be leaving links to organizations, charities, and petitions to help support Black Lives Matter protests and victims of police brutality. There’s another tragic bit of news we also must address: Zac Bertschy passed away on the week of May 19th, 2020. Zac was the executive editor in chief at Anime News Network, overseeing its editorial department. He was the host of ANNcast, the writer of Vice and Luna, and the original Answerman. He was always, in my eyes, the face, voice, and heart of Anime News Network. We’ll be leaving links to various people’s tributes and memories of Zac, including the final ANNcast, and links to some of the work of his I really appreciated over the years, including Answerman, ANNcast, Vice & Luna, his reviews of Death Parade and Keep Your Hands off Eizouken, and many others. There’s so much to say about Zac Bertschy and the legacy he’s left. But right now, there’s just one thing that I must say: Rest in Peace, Zac. See you over the rainbow. This is a news episode that was delayed and made sort of out of date because of the above stories and others that happened almost immediately after we recorded it in mid-May. Please keep that in mind as you listen through that there’s a lot of parts re-recorded or added on after the fact. That said, we had a lot to cover, including the endings of some popular series, new license announcements, COVID-related delays, Netflix additions, and the titular question on everyone’s mind: Who Did Sesshomaru FUCK?! There’s plenty of news we don’t cover in this episode we’ll get to in a future installment, but it’s good to break these things up anyway lest we have another four-hour long podcast. You can be sure that this will also not be the last time we discuss Black Lives Matter and have conversations on important political and social topics on the show either. What’s going on matters way more than any of the manga we talk about, so while we hope to entertain with our podcast, we also want to make sure we don’t distract from what’s going on in the world and are amplifying voices and causes that matter. On this episode of Manga Mavericks, Colton has a lot of news and manga to cover, but with the help of his conveniently newfound podcast hosting powers, he won't have to go at it alone! First he enlists the help of Shonen Sunday enthusiast, Bomber D. Rufi (@kiirobon), in order to not just tackle whatever news they could at the time, but also cover all of the new one shots now available on the Shonen Jump app and website from well known artists such as Boichi, Yusuke Murata and Yusei Matsui! Join our heroes as they tackle such exciting news stories including the overwhelmingly huge wave of new Boys Love manga that have arrived on the market through futekiya and other publishers, SOZO Comics licensing new series from their humble beginnings to be read on Comixology, as well as the most taxing challenge in all of manga fandom: Kodansha USA licensing new shojo manga when one of them is actually from a shonen magazine!!! (Disclaimer: Labels don't actually matter, but this is also the internet we're talking about) After Colton and Bomber exhaust themselves with the news, Colton summons his faithful friends, co-host LumRanmaYasha and Maxy Barnard from Friendship Effort Victory, to tackle not just the latest Black Clover and We Never Learn popularity polls, but what also might be some of the most controversial new series to come out of Manga Plus: Hina Change and Dear Sa-chan! Both of the these new simulpubs are...challenging to say the least! Both of which tackling controversial subject matter that may be too much for some people, but not the Mavericks! Find out how they feel about these and all the rest of the new manga that have come out in the past month, on this, the latest episode of the podcast! Enjoy!!
