This week, Derek and Jason discuss every generation of the Chevrolet Corvette while ogling beautiful sculpts made by Amalgam Collection. Derek explains that the C1 Corvette, in all of its various bodies, was perhaps better to look at than to drive, with a solid rear axle and (in early versions) a truckish straight-six engine. Jason hasn’t driven one, but feels like the Corvette recipe wasn’t fully baked until the C2 Corvette, which has perhaps the best-feeling manual-transmission shifter in history.The C3 has amazing door handles and voluptuous Ferrari-esque fenders; the C4 was 1980s angularly stunning, and introduced the ZR-1, the Corvette From Hell, with its 4-cam, Lotus-designed, Mercury Marine-built 32-valve V-8. The C5 resurrected the Z06 option code from the 1960s, and the C6 was genuinely great to drive at the limit. Especially in outrageous ZR1 form, which used a supercharged V8 whose scream was only matched by those of the passenger.It all came together with the C7, the first Corvette to be competitive on a world stage in all ways, including its interior. Still not a match for the more-expensive European stuff, it was a pleasure to drive in its distinctly American way: gruff, rough, heavy-handed and very, very fun.The C8’s departure goes way deeper than its switch to a mid-engine layout. All of its controls are light and delicate, and its dual-clutch automatic transmission so smooth and deliberate that it feels synthetic. Just like the sound of its small-block engine, which is now artificiially piped through the stereo speakers. Jason insists the Chevy Small Block is the best-sounding V-8 in the world and Derek doesn’t seem to disagree. But the C8’s understeer is enough to make him think twice before recommending it, even though we know forthcoming Corvette C8 hybrids will have torque-vectoring electric all-wheel-drive. And last but not least, the boys discuss model cars: is it better to have literal models that match the real-world thing, or artistic interpretations? One works better in a garage or man-cave, the other is perhaps more appropriate on a coffee table. We’re looking at the second engineering prototype built by Lotus likely stretching its legs on the Top Gear track at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey by the looks of it. Only 130 production cars are going to be built, and Lotus says comprehensive validation and initial build process is well underway. Nissan will provide $250 of pre-paid charging credits with EVgo – the nation’s largest and most reliable public EV fast charging network3 – to qualifying retail customers who lease or purchase a new Nissan LEAF or LEAF PLUS in participating markets on or after November 1, 2019. The program will provide participating retail customers with access to EVgo’s network of more than 750 public charging station locations with more than 1,200 fast chargers, as well as charging on other networks accessible through cooperative roaming agreements. Mike, Tom, and Tad in studio. Tom went to a SEMA conference and was in the same room as Mike's hero's collectable race cars.  Paul Newman's #33 owned by Adam Carolla was at the location for a photo shoot.  Tom saw an opening to abuse Mike a little bit.  As Adam would say... good times. Howard Tanner called in and he is always a good phone guest.  Howard always has good stuff going on.  It's nice to hear he is moving forward with his business. Redline will be relocating to a much larger facility.  Howard has lots going on with the new C7 style Z06, including one that will be in one of the half mile "Wanna Go Fast" events.  Stay tuned for results.  Howard and Tom are headed back to Dubai again for some additional meetings.  We really can't understand how these guys make it back without being arrested.  Always a fun time With Howard. Mike is a little hostile about the election stuff, and he actually explained how the podcast started.  This actually started out with the intention of a political podcast, we think they made the better choice.  This is much more fun, but it was nice to hear how it came to be. Caller Scott North calls in, and let us say, we have lots of a respect for this listener.  This guy is a real racer.  He decided to run an NHRA stock class car.  This is NEVER an easy task, and it's even harder to set records and hit indexes.  Scott did both.  Listen to hear about this guy's car...its not what you would think and shows what can be done. Jonathan and Rob start out reminiscing about doing 200 podcasts and some of the changes from the beginning. Then talk a little bit about the new Grand Sport that should be shipping soon.

Jonathan and Rob start out talking about a company that you can take your Corvette and do a driving tour with it. Jonathan mentions that Chevrolet has a discount on 6th generation Camaros and some of the problems GM is having selling Camaros. Then they talk about the Tesla Model 3.

Jonathan gives us his feelings on driving the C7 Stingray and the Cadillac ELR. Paul then answers a question Jonathan has about a problem with his C6. Paul then answers a question he has gotten about being Corvette certified and the requirements for that.

Jonathan and Rob talk about the announcement that GM is going to start using Carbon Fiber wheels on some of it's cars. And then they talk about if GM were to produce a mid-engine Corvette what the advatages and disadvantages it would have to the Corvette. And they finish with some general car chit-chat.

Paul starts off talking about updates for GM vehicles. Paul and Rob then talk about the continuing problem that Rob has had with the Tire Pressure Senor on his 2015 Stingray, because of this Paul talks about how the TPS system works on the C7 Corvettes. Jonathan then talks about a problem he is having with noise from the roof of his C6 Corvette and a possible anti-freeze issue. Jonathan then talks about the 6th gen V6 Camaro 1LE. And the show is finished up with some general chit chat about cars.

Paul starts off the podcast talking about a couple of repairs he has had to do to a couple of Corvettes. Then we talk about some of the reviews about the new 8 Speed automatic in the 2015 Stingray. Paul then talks about a new partership between GM, the US Army and Raytheon. Jonathan gives us some information about the 2016 Volt and some other general automotive news.

Jonathan and Rob talk about a number of things during this podcast including a problem Jonathan is have with his Corvette and Rob is having with his. And we finish the show talking about the Chicago Auto Show and the profits that GM made for the year.
