Ahora incorpora head up display.

Let’s get a few things straight, OK? A Kia Stonic is a Kia Rio - only with added roof rails, infinitesimally more luggage space, and 43 millimetres of additional ground clearance. And different hair and makeup. This will cost you $5500 extra, roughly. Save thousands on any new car (Australia-only): https://autoexpert.com.au/contact AutoExpert discount roadside assistance package: https://247roadservices.com.au/autoexpert/ Did you like this report? You can help support the channel, securely via PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=DSL9A3MWEMNBW&source=url We’ve seen this kind of cloning before, with crossovers and cars: Stonic is Rio just like Subaru XV is Impreza hatch. Of course, some manufacturers do this without changing the name - like Toyota with Yaris and Yaris Cross. Either way, beancounters inside carmakers jump at this kind of thing, because the fundamental R&D is already in the can - amortised and paid for - you just jack the car up a bit, you give it marginally different styling, bit of botox if you’re lucky, slap on a new badge - and there’s a brand new SUV, at a fraction of the cost of developing a bespoke one. Like, don’t get me wrong here: Stonic is an awesome styling exercise. It looks great - the proportions are spot on, and the front end in particular came together really well. Especially on GT-Line, which you’re predominately looking at in this review. With cars being the fashion statement they often are in the minds of many, there’s all too frequently a line in the sand with the letters ‘SUV’ on one side. The ‘must have’ side. It’s kinda non-negotiable. So there will be people out there for whom only an SUV will do. This ultimatum will be delivered to you in some way - probably not in the manner of the butler handing you a gilt-edged envelope. For these people (who I would argue can’t see the forest here, for the trees) Stonic will be a contender in the way Rio won’t. Stonic is priced - and equipped - competitively against its peers, such as Mazda’s CX-3 and Big Sister’s Venue. You’ll pay roughly $10,000 more for a fully-loaded CX-3. However, the Mazda’s not a rip-off. CX-3 delivers roughly 50 per cent more power from its 2.0-litre four, and it has AWD and adaptive cruise, for example - both of which the Stonic lacks. If you go dollar-for-dollar with CX-3, you’re looking at a front-drive CX-3 Maxx Sport - and then you’re back to manual seats, non-adaptive cruise control and smaller 16-inch alloys. Stonic GT-Line starts looking pretty sharp against a Maxx Sport CX-3. Hyundai Venue is close to a direct Stonic competitor on price and spec. Like Stonic, Venue is front-drive only, but even here, Venue will give you about 25 per cent better power to weight. So, there’s your boxed set of three diminutive SUVs, if you want to duck out and test drive today, comparatively. CX-3 for polish and performance; Stonic as the price-leader; Venue in the middle. Just make sure you drive variants at the same price-point, otherwise this will skew your perception.

Auto - Rund ums Auto.

Can Kia “Keep on keeping on” in 2020?: Damien Meredith COO KIA Australia, tells how they will do it

Damien Meredith is the Chief Operating Officer for Kia Australia. He is a down to earth bloke that knows that his first task is to sell cars now, which will then provide the foundation for future developments. In the full year of 2019 when the market declined by 7.8%, Kia did what no other top ten manufacturer did, it increased its sales over 2018 volumes. It is not all wonder and light. The increase was due to a 16.5% increase in Kia's Cerato. All their other models decreased, although the reduction was mostly better than average. Part of the decline may have been some cannibalising of existing model sales by their new Seltos small SUV that they bought onto the market in mid-October and by the end of the year it had sold over 2,000 vehicles. Towards the end of 2020, they will bring in an even smaller SUV, the Stonic. We caught up with Damien, in a bit of a noisy area at the Australian Open Tennis tournament for which Kia is the major sponsoring partner.

Auto - Rund ums Auto.

They are increasingly using a new style to build networks that relies more on software and less on high-end, expensive hardware." Sharwood@ElReg (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/12/13/cisco_to_kill_its_intercloud_public_cloud_on_march_31st_2017/): "OpenStack public clouds have an unhappy history: Rackspace felt it could build a business on the platform, but has since changed tack. HP pulled out of its own Helion public cloud. If Cisco is indeed changing direction, the OpenStack Board has some interesting matters to ponder." Theory: AWS means on-premise IT is over-serving. You actually don't need all that. Incumbent vendors succumbed to the strategy aphasia of the disruptor's' dilemma (weren't willing to sacrifice/take eye off the ball of existing success and revenue) and lost to Amazon's lower capabilities, lower price approach. WHEN WILL TECH PEOPLE LURN? There was this talk several years ago that was all like: "well, obviously, we shouldn't compete strategy-to-strategy with Amazon. We should provide the enterprise version!" Apparently, that was dead wrong. People confused Apple's ability to sell at an insane premium with the market not caring about x86 &co. Good job biffing that one Oracle. But then again: is there any money in it? "This leads us to a very difficult operational problem – how do we ensure security, and understand the makeup of an application while still allowing developer velocity to increase." More Docker usage numbers from DataDog (https://www.datadoghq.com/blog/3-clear-trends-in-ecs-adoption/)! "ECS adoption has climbed steadily from zero to 15 percent of Docker organizations using Datadog. (And more than 10 percent of all Datadog customers are now using Docker.)" How do I read this? Does it mean adoption is fast after an initial tire-kicking? "In the 30 days after an organization starts reporting ECS metrics, we see a 35 percent increase in the number of running containers as compared to the 60-day baseline that came before. Using the same parameters, we see a 27 percent increase in the number of running Docker hosts."
