Der var engang, hvor opladning af en elbil var noget, man planlagde sin frokostpause omkring. Nu går det så stærkt, at man knap når at bestille en flat white, før batteriet er fyldt. I spidsen for det nye elektriske kapløb står Zeekr og Xpeng – to kinesiske mærker, der har forvandlet ladetid til teknologisk prestige. Zeekr 7X chokerede forleden hele branchen med en ladetid på 14 minutter og 46 sekunder fra 10 til 80 procent. Men før nyheden nåede at bundfælde sig, kom Xpeng buldrende med 525 kW ladeeffekt – den højeste nogensinde i Danmark. Det svarer til at lade fra 10 til 80 procent på 12 minutter. Og mens Europa så småt har ladet kineserne tage føringen, er BMW nu klar til at svare igen. Den kommende BMW iX3, bygget på den nye Neue Klasse-platform, lover 400 kW lynladning, 800 km rækkevidde og et digitalt cockpit, der skal bringe München tilbage i front. Men elbilverdenen handler ikke kun om fremtiden og fart over feltet. Det handler også om dem, der allerede har købt. Og for mange elbilejere melder problemerne sig nu, hvor garantien er udløbet. Not when an arbitrary market share is reached, but when electric vehicles are simply better for more customers – better to drive, cheaper to own, and easier to integrate into daily life.”Jeep has announced plans to launch an affordable Renegade EV in the US for under $25,000, but industry experts are skeptical about the feasibility of hitting this price point.Jeep aims to launch a new model every year over the next three years, with a goal of increasing its market coverage in North America from 45% to 85% by 2027.Experts doubt Jeep can achieve the $25,000 price point, citing potential production outside North America, which would disqualify the vehicle from federal incentives.Ralph Mahalak Jr., a Jeep dealer, supports the idea of a low-cost EV but stresses the need for a range of 200 to 300 miles to be competitive.Other brands like Kia, Volvo, and Chevy are also targeting the low-cost EV segment, with prices starting around $30,000 to $35,000.“If the Renegade comes in at, let's say [$30,000] starting for the launch models, or maybe even [$35,000], it could put up some numbers for Jeep,” says Edmunds' Joseph Yoon.Rimac, known for its million-dollar hypercars, has ventured into autonomous vehicles with the launch of its robotaxi, "Verne." There's a focus on performance cars this week, including the record-setting Rimac Nevera and a new 600-horsepower engine option for the Range Rover. Rumors are circulating of a possible revival for the Toyota Celica and Honda S2000, and Tesla is cooking up something new.

The Rimac Nevera is the fastest-accelerating car in the world, according to its manufacturer. When asked to verify that claim, automotive journalist Jason Cammisa responded with, "holy sh...excuse me." Derek Tam-Scott uttered similarly unsuitable words not fit for YouTube descriptions, though they were far more colorful. Rimac's 4-motor, torque-vectoring, carbon-tubbed masterpiece is capable of unleashing 1.4 megawatts (that's 1400 kW, 1877 SAE hp, 1914 metric HP, and the exact number doesn't matter.) 0-60 hits in a claimed 1.85 seconds and through the 1/4-mile in 8.6 seconds on to a top speed of 258 mph. This isn't just fast, this is Bugatti fast, and so it's no wonder Rimac and Bugatti are now the same company. Is the Nevera Bugatti-good?
