HAPPY FRIDAY This week we have a lot of interesting local news as the 3 major Wisconsin sports teams bring back familiar faces, and the Vikings find themselves in the middle of some COVID trouble, especially in the QB room. We dissect the decision of Quinn Ewers skipping his senior year of high school to begin using his name and likeness for profit at Ohio State. As the regular season of the NFL creeps closer, we break down the impact of Fantasy Football on our lives and our own personal favorite league types and successes/failures.   Finally, we disclose the possible ending of the show. We have some things to consider and are at least taking a brief hiatus from recording. Updates to come.

This week we tackle some personal stuff and a LOT of regional news. I open with my Random Rant which begins a conversation of Madden ratings and the reactions of players and fans.   Locally, we discuss updates between the Twins, Brewers, and Packers. Primarily covering Aaron Rodgers return to Green Bay and his press conference lighting up the front office.    We discuss the changes for student-athletes with the NIL ruling and how Reggie Bush was hoping for his punishments to be retroactively removed -- NCAA won't budge though.   In light of training camp beginning an preseason in the near future, Ace and I tackle the teams in the NFC that need to win in 2021 due to player contracts, front office concerns and coaches on the hot seat.  

Not much else to say here but BUCKS IN SIX.   We break down the game, the series, the parade, and the ramifications of the championship win for the franchise and the city of Milwaukee.    

We had a lot of good topics this week and it was fun to discuss them all.   I kick things off with a discussion on spending extra $$$ for a rare playoff experience for your team.   Ace dives into some Minnesota sporting updates with the Twins and Wild. We talk about the latest update in the MSU Larry Nassar case and also the next Rodgers-GB deadline which comes in two weeks with Packers Training Camp.   I dig into the significance of Game 3, the adjustments made, and the outlook for the Milwaukee Bucks going forward in the series. Ace and I also talk about how the Bucks and the national media flipped the script from the mass coverage of CP3 and the Suns.   We briefly discuss the outrageous comment of Stephen A. Smith this last week, and the McGregor-Poirier Trilogy fight.   Ace gets sweet revenge by giving me 6 Packer players throughout time and making me pick 3 of them. This week we have a PACKED show!  I start it off with my Random Rant covering the overuse of internal messaging such as Teams & Slack.   We talk about Game 1 of the Finals between the Bucks and Suns and cover some of the reactions and thoughts going forward. Ace talks a bit about the TWolves and also MNUFC.   In the realm of drug testing and sports, both Sha'Carri Richardson and Josh Gordon made headlines this week.   We try a new segment with Either/Or which has one of us selecting one player or another over the course of time for our favorite franchises.   The COTW this week is a snippet of Aaron Rodgers on the course getting questions about the upcoming NFL Season.   Finally, we discuss the big topic of the NCAA NIL ruling and the ramifications for schools, teams, and individual players now and for years to come.

This week Ace & I recap what we've been up to the last week before I dive into my Random Rant.   My topic for this episode is staffing issues across the country. It's been a month of freedom in most states, and I don't think that I've had more than a handful of positive dining experiences since the mask mandate has expired in Madison. Seems it's a thing in a lot of US cities from what I've experienced and heard :(   I talk a bit about Giannis' injury and how the Bucks fared in Game 4 and also the Brewers quietly putting together an 8-game winning streak. Ace covers a bit of MNUFC and Timberwolves talk before we get into the meat of the show.   COTW: MNUFC goal with a FULL STADIUM :)   We dig into the extent of Giannis' hyperextended knee and the ramifications for the team going forward in the series. We also discuss how injuries are running rampant in the NBA postseason thus far.   Our Tee-Off topic is noting all of the "modern" ex-NBA players now working as head coaches in the NBA currently. It's actually a pretty long list and Ace nails down the archetype for the person as well.

This week we break into the show discussing our own personal updates from the previous week before getting into the meat of the episode.   My random rant covers the monster phenomenon that is TikTok and the way it has taken over our lives.   Ace discusses the shooting of Vikings draft pick, Twyman which took place earlier in the week, and the ramifications of that.   I dive into the end of the Bucks/Nets series, and the outlook on the upcoming series against the Hawks.   We get into the upcoming MLB All-star weekend and why it's not going to do anything to bring baseball back into the forefront of American sports. The lack of attention to drawing in the new generation is a big bullet point of this discussion.   Finally, we talk about how the extended absence of Aaron Rodgers is really starting to get fans and others truly worked up. The yellow journalism period has mostly ended and now people are really getting into the contract details and other specifics of Rodgers possibly opting out, getting traded or retiring before the 2021 NFL season begins.  

Johnny was enticed to rant about wedding toasts as Ace has an upcoming Best Man speech to prepare for. Johnny's given one before and so we discussed our preferences and what makes a kick ass speech! Keep it genuine and on point. Regional Roundup of course was Bucks heavy talk recapping game 5 woes and Kevin Durant's unbelievable performance putting the Nets on his back. We got into football talk after as former Packers great, Charles Woodson, will now be on the NFL Fox Sunday Kickoff and the Vikings bolstered their defensive line with Danielle Hunter and Sheldon Richardson both remaining on the team. Clip of the week is always a must watch or listen and this time Charles Barkley didn't disappoint as we continue our pitching scandal from last week. Barkley roasts MLB for a weak punishment for pitchers using illegal substances on the ball. Tee off Topic centered around the Bucks game 6 outlook and let's not forget Johnny will be in attendance for it! We'll recap the emotions, etc in next weeks episode. Finally, what was present more in Season 1 we end with Ace's Quick 6 as we go ahead to ahead selecting between 6 of the 7 NBA teams left who we think will win the NBA title. In our show this week, we touch on the usual suspects, but also take some time to get nostalgic about some of the bigger moments we've experienced over the years involving sports.   I begin the show with my experience at the Brewer game last weekend, but more specifically the MLB Ballpark App and how handy it was for getting & scanning tickets and also navigating the stadium after a few cold ones :)   We dig into the rough start for the Bucks against the Nets as Milwaukee looks to turn the corner on the series with the next 2 games coming home. Brewers go 9-1 in their last 10 and we poke fun at the Twins a bit as well.   The Clip of the Week is a snippet of an interview with Josh Donaldson and his thoughts on MLB pitchers cheating with using substances to increase RPMs when on the mound. He claims this is going to be akin to the Steroids era if left unchecked.   Finally, we wrap up the show looking back at young Ace & Johnny and some influential moments we've shared through the years in the world of sports as both player and spectator.

This week we give you a double dosage of the show as we cover local topics and then include our conversation with Ty & Kris from the Everything Goez Podcast as well. For the main show, I go over my Random Rant this week which is Adult Hangovers (scary... I know). I also discuss the Bucks busting out the broom and sweeping Miami and we take a look to the series ahead against Brooklyn and the 3-headed monster that is the Nets. Ace gives us the low-down on the Twins and Wild and how things have unfolded for them in the last week. Spoiler alert: it ain't pretty. Finally, we listen to the Clip of the Week featuring Giannis' on-court post-game interview over the weekend and segue into our discussion with T&K which ended up covering literally every sport aside from cricket and volleyball it seems. This week is an exciting episode following a statement win for the Bucks, the Wild keeping the series interesting against the Knights, and some news in the world of golf! I open the show with my Random Rant which serves as a reminder to tip servers and others providing a service as everything opens up and the mask mandates disappear. We chat a bit about the announcement of live NFL training camps for fans beginning at the end of July in which we hope to be in attendance. I cover the Bucks dominant series start versus the Heat and a Game 2 recap. Ace covers the Wild a bit and we discuss the Brewers and Twins, who are on the backburner for the moment. Ace put together the Clip of the Week which is Brooks Koepka losing it a bit in a leaked outtake. We also dive into the big announcement of the day which is Bryson DeChambeau & Aaron Rodgers versus Phil Mickelson & Tom Brady on July 6th at The Reserve at Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana.

This week we bring the HYPE as the mask mandates expire and life slowly gets back to normal for us. That dominates my Random Rant this week.   Regionally, we cover some more news following Patrick Baldwin Jr. coming to UWM, Kevin Garnett being inducted to the Hall of Fame, Bucks v Heat Round 2, and Wisconsin getting 9 out of the top 100 Golf Courses in the United States.   Our big topic this week is the history and current viewpoint of "Superteams" in the NBA and other sports. You better believe LeBron and Brooklyns Superteam are discussed!

This week is our UWM Alumni Episode to celebrate Patrick Baldwin Jrs decision and a fellow alumni getting married over the weekend.   My random rant covers Friday Weddings and their legitimacy as both Ace & I each attended Friday weddings.   Regionally, UWM got 5-star recruit to commit who happens to be the son of the head coach. We explore the ramifications of this as well as setting up a segment for later.   I dive into some off the odd comment that came from Vikings WR Adam Thielen over the weekend and how salty they came off as. This was probably my favorite part of the show :).   I also recap the backpedal from Adam schefter after releasing his "breaking story" on draft day. Ace covers Twins and St. Paul Saints updates.   We spend the rest of the show diving into the upcoming NBA Playoffs and the brand new play-in tournament which begins next week. I talk about my expectations for the Bucks and we tap into the applications of play-in tournaments in other scenarios and sports.   We wrap up the show with a UWM-themed Ace's Quick6.

This week we start the show with my Random Rant which covers plant-based foods (PLANT BASED BUFFALO STYLE DIP). Regionally, I drop a Brewers update that broke today and a few odd basketball tidbits.    The bulk of the show addresses the pseudo-story from Adam Schefter on the day of the NFL Draft regarding Aaron Rodgers not wanting to continue playing in Green Bay. Ace & I both dig into the Vikings and Packers drafts, respectively.    To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, we talk about some of the more impactful Latin American Professional Sports... it serves as a nice trip down memory lane too. Hint: GONZO!

** Many apologies here, listeners. We REALLY wanted to have an in-person episode when I visited Ace this weekend, but apparently, the Macbook Pro Ace uses for the show wanted nothing to do with video capturing that day. So, we had to record when I got back Sunday evening. Definitely not what we wanted, but we'll get it sorted out for next time. ** This week we began the show discussing our frustrations with applications across multiple operating systems and general issues with cross-platform functions. The Regional Roundup covers the recent successes and problems with the Brewers & Twins as well as the Badgers head coach contract extensions. We spend most of the time discussing positions and players that we could see the Packers and Vikings selecting in this week's draft. We were EXTRA excited to discuss the UFC card over the weekend since we watched it together and were able to see and react to the great prelim fights and title defenses. Ace cut up a nice clip of Rogan interviewing Hall after Weidman's gruesome injury. The Tee Off Topic this week is the history of teams moving to new cities and the franchises state before and after the moves. With Ace moving into his new home, this topic felt more relevant as the Wolves are under new ownership and there are cities looking for an NBA team.

This week is a shorter episode as we prepare for our first in-person recording next week. I start off with the Random Rant discussing both sides of leaving a job during a large project.For the Regional Recap, we talk about Aaron Rodgers hosting Jeopardy!, the UW Basketball seniors decisions for next season, new ownership of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and a quick update on the seasons for the Twins and Brewers thus far.The Clip of the Week returns with Anthony Edwards less-than-inspiring chat with a reporter this week regarding new owner Alex Rodriguez.We wrap up the show with our Tee Off Topic which focuses on Next Generation NFL players. This week is very Golf heavy, but it's MASTERS week, so what else are we to do?I start off the show by discussing my COVID vaccination today and my reasons behind getting it as my Random Rant.We have a few local items to cover such as the retirement announcement from Barry Alvarez, Jrue's contract extension, the Brewers + Twins start to the season, and Jeff Gladney's legal issues.We also take a little time to chat about the NCAAB Men's National Championship game and the Podcast Bracket challenge as well as the Ace v Johnny Bracket results :).We spend the rest of the show discussing our favorite golf courses and some thoughts/predictions for the Masters Tournament.

In our 1 Year Anniversary episode, we cover the Packers losing yet another NFC Championship Game and the thoughts and feelings behind the game and also looking ahead to the off-season. Badger BBall got slapped by Michigan days later. Ex-Colts OT Jared Veldheer gets signed by Green Bay and is put on the COVID list days later. We keep things rolling with the Soundbite of the Week from Bears Chairman George McCaskey. The Tee-Off topic is literally recapping Super Wild Card weekend and the matchups we enjoyed, gut feelings, and a small look ahead.Sadly, due to time constraints, we were not able to have Ace's Quick6 this week.

This week we take a bit to reflect on the Christmas season and our experiences. My random rant covers the importance of having a good chair when working from home and in general. I bring up the coming week for Green Bay and the likeliness of securing that top seed in the NFC, but not before an AJ Dillon conversation and discussing the other 2 RBs in Green Bay. We talk about the Badgers and Gophers football and basketball and the upcoming matchup on NYE. The Soundbite of the Week is the postgame speech in the Gopher locker room after a win over Iowa.The Tee-Off topic this week revolves around drama and cornerstone players, namely James Harden and Dwayne Haskins, and their recent escapades and the ramifications on their respective franchises.We wrap up the show with Ace's Quick6.

Vikings drop a game and are on the outside looking in for the playoffs, the Packers retain control of the top seed in the NFC. Packers D gets into a groove with 2 cake games, and the Vikes move into playoff positioning. Ace gives an update on the St. Paul Saints situation and the collapse by the MNUFC over the weekend. Ace's sappy Soundbite of the Week leads us into our tee-off topic which is the overall image of the Big Ten and the mishandling of this season as a whole. We wrap up the show with Ace's Quick6.

This episode is dedicated to Aaron Rodgers' 37th birthday and current events in the NFL. Green Bay rolls over Chicago and signed Tavon Austin after releasing Darrius Shepherd. I go over the passing categories that Rodgers is leading in currently and the outlook for the playoffs. Ace covers the Vikings lead and we take about the current state of Teddy Bridgewater. We cover our feelings about both the Gophers and Badgers. I dive into the conspiracy theory behind the Ravens spread of COVID and frequent rescheduling. We share a nice highlight reel for Tyreek Hill for our Soundbite of the Week and then hit out tee off topic of the MVP race and who we think should/will win.We wrap things up with Ace's Quick6.

In a holiday episode, we take a moment to express what we're thankful for this year in a time when some people are not doing so well. I take a deep look inward to find anything positive after the Badgers and Packers get slapped around in consecutive days. Ace dives into the Viking's loss in the NFL and a CLOSE Gopher game versus Purdue. We find out that the Battle for Paul Bunyan's Axe (Wisconsin/Minnesota) is canceled completely for this upcoming weekend >:(Ace compiles a nice montage of Detroit Lions Head Coach Matt Patricia's responses to some more direct questions about what he's doing. This week we take a long look at what's happening locally: Packers get their 7th win in an ugly fashion, the Vikings get their 3rd in a row, the Badgers STOMP the Wolverines and the NBA draft and free agency brings big moves for both the Bucks and T'Wolves. I take a peek at the Packers who left the team before the 2020 season and what it's meant for GB. Ace gives us two VERY different but special soundbites. We chat a wee bit about fantasy football formats we enjoy and wrap up with Ace's Quick6.

We are back to our old format this week and Ace's kicks things off with his casino recap with some legal sport betting at Diamond Joe's. We briefly cover Jon Rahm's AMAZING Hole in One and Ace goes into a small preview of the Masters for us. I rundown the dates released by the NBA as the season kicks up again in just over a month. Our big topic of the show is covering the continuing impact of COVID on the football landscape as games are being canceled and postponed left and right. I bring up the good news about the Badgers hitting the field again for the first time in 3 weeks before we get into Ace's Soundbite of the Week and his best attempt at a Quick6 to close the show.

In a special supplementary episode, we briefly get into our usual topics this week that were NOT covered in the collaboration YouTube episode this week. My Random Rant is not so random as I tee off on the inactivity or sense of urgency displayed by Green Bay before the trade deadline. Ace and I cover a big of the issues in the B1G and NFL concerning COVID-19 and also the second coming of Dalvin Cook. Badgers had 3 of their QBs among others test positive for covid all on Saturday following their win. Protocol is a ridiculous 21 day layoff which cripples their season.Also over the weekend, Khabib defeats Justin Gaethje to retain the Lightweight belt in UFC and seemingly retires after the match but what a remarkable 29-0 career if this is it for him. Episode 38 dives into most things NFL and Johnny's Random Rant sets the tone being that he was on vacation in Tampa Bay, Florida (enemy territory) for the Battle of the Bay's football game! Wasn't a good showing by the Packers after an early 10-0 lead but the Vikings faired even worse as Kirk Cousin's first pass of the game against the Falcons was an interception.We do preview the Wisconsin Badgers and Minnesota Gophers opening games this weekend in our Regional Roundup as Big Ten football resumes with a shortened 7 game schedule. Our soundbite of the week is a magnificent catch by Mookie Betts outfield for the LA Dodgers in game 7 of the NLCS. They advance to play the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series. Tee off topic we discuss the current NFL playoff picture and could the NFC West get all 4 teams in?? This week in episode 37 of Armchair Analysts we stick the course beginning with a random rant on airplane travel, while taking a deep deep dive into the Vikes L in Seattle. It was well played in all three phases especially the consistent 4 man pressure getting to Russell. But Wilson pulled off another miracle in thrashing MN's hearts. The Packers, healthy, are heading to Tampa to play the Buc's in a Bay vs Bay throwback special thanks to TB12.Tee off Topic centers around the lack of a thorough plan the NFL has in response to so many positive tests from multiple teams. Ultimately when games are cancelled, checks aren't guaranteed in the current restructure plan for covid, this spells danger heading into colder months and begs the question can a bubble support the NFL? We'll find out... lastly we close with a desperation heave by Ace for his Quick6, though the idea was there he wasn't prepared and will come with 12 next week. Shame :)

I discuss the Packers status with looming injuries and depth concerns as well. Packers beat the Vikings so Ace for losing the bet had to proclaim 5x 'Rodgers is the greatest quarterback of all time'. So we dove into the game as well as speculated on the rest of the division and NFL as a whole. It's good to see sports back in the fold and having the key American sport back in football is a nice reprieve from the everyday live. Enjoy :)
