A puzzle game loosely featuring licensing from the 7Up soft drink. The gameplay involves up to 4 players, which can be either human or computer, each taking on spots of a particular colour. Starting from opposite corners, they take it in turns to move, either by 'reproducing' one of their spots to form another one in an adjacent square, or by making a jump, losing the square you did have but taking one two spaces away.Support NEStalgia directly by becoming a member of our Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/Nestalgia Members at the $5 and above level get access to our brand new show NEStalgia Bytes. If you dare to pass by the Sordid Hollywood Hotel, you'll notice several cars in front of the imposing Victorian house with soot-stained shingles. An old neon “office” sign is turned off, and a broken 7Up machine from the 1970s sits on the porch. Disturbingly, one of the "L" letters on the motel's sign is missing, so it now reads “HOLYWOOD.” Before heading out, Amy King pops in to share some news about the Eagles with Gary and Shannon. Meanwhile, Jackie and Shadow are happily making sure their little ones are well taken care of! The transformation of struggling malls into vibrant destinations has created spaces focused on health, entertainment, and learning. These once-quiet shopping centers are now buzzing with life, featuring fitness studios, wellness clinics, and interactive learning hubs. Families and individuals alike flock to these revitalized locations to exercise, engage in fun activities, and pursue educational experiences, making them essential community gathering spots that promote a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle. Gary is enjoying an erotic story that he has selected from Quinn, the audio erotica app designed for immersive storytelling. As he listens, he is captivated by the narrator's voice and the vivid descriptions, allowing him to fully immerse himself in the tale.

What's up, dudes? There are a lot of classic Christmas commercials! They've shaped our perception of the Christmas season since we were little. Vinnie Brezinsky from Huey and Bax and Nicholas Pepin of Pop Culture Roulette join me live to watch some lesser known ‘80s Christmas commercials!Cool Spot rides a toy fire truck in a 1988 7Up commercial. Young versions of Sarah Michelle Gellar, Lea Thompson, and Elizabeth Shue regale us with carols in a 1982 Burger King commercial. Oh yeah, McDonald's sued Burger King because of it as well. Meanwhile, Joey is making homemade garland with a needle and thread and Kix cereal. He's snacking too!Artists send holiday wishes to “Blue Christmas” by Elvis in an MTV commercial. The Dillard patriarch cradles his granddaughter in a cozy Christmas scene. Then a choir sings, “Hello, Taco Bell!” in their best Handel impression. A Radio Shack announcer describes an inordinate amount of radio variations and Woolworth shows children playing with toys. Santa sleds on a Norelco razor top while a woman looks through her Hallmark cards and blushes at the one ‘the hunk' sent her. A grandpa helps his grandson fall asleep via phone and AT&T's great service. The Muppets unexpectedly show up with Polaroids as well. Finally an ‘80s robot shills for Toys R Us, Tom Bosley talks tools for Sears, and Pizza Hut reminds us how amazing their pan pizzas are! Catchy jingles? Check. Cheesy, saccharine messages? Of course. Muppet shenanigans? Definitely! This week we're getting off the train on a whim to walk-and-talk our way through Vienna, as February Is For Lovers begins with 1995's Before Sunrise, directed by Richard Linklater, written by Linklater and Kim Krizan, and starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. It's a cozy little romance about a chance encounter that turns into one magical night of human connection. Simple stuff for sure, but a refreshing break for us here on the show to get to enjoy something of immense quality again, and spoiler alert: this is one of the greats. Beyond that, just a couple of loud-mouthed gamer girls over here. If you'd like to watch the movie along with us before listening to our discussion, it -- as well as next week's Before Sunset -- are both available on streaming in Canada via Crave and Starz. Other works discussed on this episode include Furiosa, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Tenet, Godzilla (1954), Godzilla Minus One Minus Color, Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence, Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God, GTA: Vice City, The Other Two, Dazed and Confused, Owning Mahowny, and Michael Apted's 7Up documentary series. We'll be back next week as we're joined by guest Marc Staehling (AM730 Vancouver) to discuss the next entry in the Before trilogy: 2004's Before Sunset, a movie J Mo has somehow already seen despite never having seen the original until just now. Anyway, until then, we'll see you at the movies!

In a medium sturdy glass add mint leaves and 1 lime wedge. Use a muddler to crush the mint and lime, releasing the mint oils and lime juice. 2. Add 2 more lime wedges and the sugar, and muddle again to release the lime juice. Do not strain the mixture. 3. Fill the glass almost to the top with ice. Add club soda and more sugar to taste if desired. Garnish with mint leaves and remaining lime wedge. Notes: 1. Mint: Mojitos are typically made with spearmint, not peppermint. 2. Sugar: Or substitute agave, honey, or simple syrup and add it to taste. However, the grittiness of granulated sugar adds texture and is part of the charm of a mojito. 3. Club soda: Or choose sparkling water or a clear soda such as Sprite of 7UP. 4. Yield: This recipe makes 1 mojito mocktail.

Brand partnerships in music has become more and more important in recent years. It's been a big part of my business — putting partnerships together for brands like Scion, Mazda, 7UP, and for artists like Linkin Park — and today's episode is with two people at the top of the game. Joe Belliotti and Rebecca Jolly (are the authors of How Music Grows Brands — a field guide to building successful partnerships. The book is incredibly insightful into what it takes to make these relationships work, how and why they often go wrong, and contains a number of practical tools for measurement, analysis, selling, planning, etc. You should definitely get a copy if you're in this business: https://www.amazon.com/How-Music-Grows-Brands-Field/dp/1544537824 We dig into their unique journeys in music, events, and corporate brands. In this episode Kieran and I pick back up with our coverage of Michael Apted's Seven Up documentary series, with a conversation about '28 Up' from 1984. One note on this, we recorded this episode ages ago- back in September 2020 (in the period between the first and the second lockdown). Sorry this took so long to go live but it's a great chat. Oh, one more thing- this was the first 1980s episode we recorded (so this is Kieran's first time hearing this series' sign-off at the end). Join us next time as we break into 1980s Disney with an episode on 'The Great Mouse Detective'!
WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE. RIGHT? Matt Jordan takes over for the second time as host of the good ship 3Q3D, and in so doing, leads a fun and fascinating conversation with Chris Mikolay and Sam LiPuma – an author, professor and 3Q3D newcomer – that explores several of the most interesting questions ever posed on the podcast. Over 3 drinks as unique as each question, Matt, Chris and Sam debate whether it's ever okay to take a life, ponder the pros and cons of immortality, and finally, bets are placed on what happens when the lights go out. The three may not all agree on the answers to each question, but one thing is for sure: drink enough Angels Envy bourbon…and you will receive total consciousness (which is nice). Drinks in this Episode:White Russian >> 2 oz vodka, 1 oz Kahlúa, 1 splash heavy cream. Add the vodka and Kahlúa to a rocks glass filled with ice, top with the heavy cream by pouring it over a spoon so it looks like a Starbucks beverage made for a sorority girl.Pineapple Banana Orange Crush >> 2 oz pineapple/banana/orange juice, 2 oz orange vodka, 1 oz Triple Sec, lemon-lime soda like Sprite or 7UP. Pour juice, vodka and Triple Sec into a glass filled with crushed ice. Top off with Sprite/7 up and garnish with an orange wedge. Stir and, provided humanity has finally cured death, enjoy for the next several millennia.Angels Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey >> Pour at least two fingers into a proper Glencairn glass and don't even think about using ice. Raise a glass to the angels above who wish they could have just a taste.
