Alicia Couri  can be described as an audacious and confident woman. She didn't start out this way and says confidence is something she struggled with a whole life. She related it back to growing up in Australia where she and her sister were the only children in her school with dark complexions. She spoke of leaving Trinidad for Australia with a strong sense of self but returning with very low self-esteem.
