Breaking Barriers: Phoenix Energy's 4-Mile Laterals and the Future of American Oil

In this episode of Energy Newsbeat – Conversations in Energy, host Stu Turley sits down with Adam Ferrari, CEO of Phoenix Energy, to talk about “American oil” in action—from drilling record-setting four-mile laterals in the Bakken and delivering strong well economics even at $60 oil, to Phoenix's transparent, yield-focused model that lets everyday investors track real production and returns. Adam shares how Phoenix grew from a small, scrappy mineral-buying team into a 40,000 BOPD operator with ambitions to reach 100,000 BOPD, why long laterals and nimble engineering are key in a soft price environment, and how global capital increasingly sees U.S. barrels as the safest bet for energy security. The conversation also hits on U.S. energy dominance, the role of private mineral ownership, permitting and policy challenges in places like California, and Adam's broader mission to change public perception of oil and gas as an essential, long-term partner in affordable, reliable energy.Check out Phoenix Energy here: https://phoenixenergy.com/Highlights of the Podcast 00:00 - Intro00:33 – Record 4-Mile Bakken Laterals02:11 – Economics of Longer Laterals04:06 – Bakken Oil vs Gas Mix04:38 – How Phoenix Energy Started07:51 – Foreign Capital & Energy Security10:00 – Oil & Gas vs Wind/Solar Returns12:07 – Peak Oil Demand Pushed Out14:35 – Oil Value & Phoenix at 40k BOPD16:24 – Phoenix's Transparency Strategy18:36 – Path to 100k BOPD + Powder River21:18 – Engineering Innovations22:53 – North Slope & Global Supply23:58 – California Policy & Mike Umbro26:40 – Private Ownership & U.S. Advantage30:09 – Operating & Living in California35:19 – Politics & Blue-Collar Energy Jobs36:17 – Would Phoenix Drill in California?37:56 – 2025–2026 Outlook38:58 – Final Thoughts & MissionCheck out the ENB Substack https://theenergynewsbeat.substack.com/And the ENB Website: https://energynewsbeat.co/

Arrow Exploration CEO Marshall Abbott joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss the company's latest operational success with Steve Darling from Proactive. Abbott revealed that the third horizontal well on the Carrizales Norte “B” pad, known as CNB HZ-4, has begun production and is significantly exceeding initial expectations. The well currently boasts a flow rate exceeding 2,500 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) gross, and production is still on the rise. The CNB HZ-4 well, which was drilled to a total measured depth of 13,335 feet, includes a horizontal section spanning approximately 3,940 feet. It commenced production on August 26, 2024, utilizing an electric submersible pump (ESP). Despite a current 8% water cut while still recovering load fluid, management expects the well to achieve initial production (IP) rates comparable to the company's first two horizontal wells on the pad. Early results indicate that CNB HZ-4 displays similar reservoir characteristics to the previously successful CNB HZ-1. In addition to this operational achievement, Abbott shared the company's impressive financial performance for the second quarter of 2024. Arrow Exploration recorded total oil and natural gas revenue, net of royalties, of $15.1 million, representing a 47% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The company reported a net income of $1.2 million and an adjusted EBITDA of $8.9 million, marking a 53% increase from the previous year. Arrow also maintained a strong cash position of $10.8 million at the end of Q2 2024 and generated operating cash flows of $15.7 million during the first half of the year. This combination of strong production results and robust financial performance highlights Arrow Exploration's continued growth and success in the energy sector. #proactiveinvestors #arrowexplorationinc #aim #axl #tsxv #axl #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

Arrow Exploration CEO Marshall Abbott joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share significant updates on the company's operational activities, focusing on the multi-horizon Carrizales Norte field in the Tapir Block, located in the Llanos Basin of Colombia. Arrow has successfully commenced production from the first of four planned Ubaque horizontal wells for 2024. This inaugural horizontal well on the Carrizales Norte "B" pad has exceeded expectations, achieving a restricted flow rate of 3,150 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) gross, with less than 1% water cut while still recovering load fluid. Abbott detailed that this well was drilled to a total measured depth of 11,680 feet, featuring a horizontal section of approximately 2,042 feet. The pay zone is composed of clean sandstone, exhibiting consistent 28% porosity and high resistivity, characteristics similar to those observed in previous wells. The drilling rig has now been relocated to the second cellar on the Carrizales Norte B Pad. The company plans to drill a dedicated water disposal well (CNB-2) next. Following this, Arrow Exploration intends to drill three additional horizontal wells on the B pad, with longer horizontal sections expected to enhance production rates and ultimate recovery. Additionally, the company will drill the Baquiano-1 exploration well, which aligns with the trend of the Carrizales Norte field. These developments underscore Arrow Exploration's strategic efforts to optimize production and enhance recovery rates at the Carrizales Norte field, reinforcing the company's commitment to expanding its operational footprint and maximizing resource extraction in the Llanos Basin. #proactiveinvestors #arrowexplorationcorp #aim #axl #tsxv #axl #mining # #OilProduction #HorizontalDrilling #OilIndustry #EnergyNews #MarshallAbbott #ReservoirExploitation #OilWells #3DSeismic #EnergySector #Investment #OilAndGas #WellDrilling #Exploration #ProductionGrowth #OilReserves #FinancialPerformance #EnergyInvestment #IndustryUpdate #OilField #investment #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews
