There's something about the act of touch that goes beyond the physical, isn't there? It's like we're not just meeting someone at their skin but somehow dipping into the unseen—into emotions, memories, and layers that words can't quite reach. What happens when we listen with our hands instead of our ears? The guest of this episode, Chris McAlister, is an acupuncturist and shiatsu practitioner who's been exploring the art of presence and connection for years. He's inquisitive about how the practical meets the mystical, constantly seeking ways to blend tradition with modern insight, and helping people discover parts of themselves they didn't even know were there. From his experiences in Tibet to decades of teaching, Chris brings curiosity, exploration, and a touch of rebellion to the table.Listen into this discussion as we unravel the power of not knowing, the healing spirals that shift our understanding of problems, and why it's sometimes okay to let discomfort simmer. And there's bending reality and what that means in the clinic.
This week's Unchurched is a replay from one of our most downloaded episodes from a long while back. Listen in to hear from author, speaker, and life-changer, Chris McAlister. Enjoy!

Although the journey starts internally, we grow to externalize it in the context of our community, and we spark true transformation and new learning. And, because our internal world is endlessly explorable, the transformation we can bring to our communities is never-ending. We explore these concepts and teachings in the recording from “REVOLUTIONIZE", part 9 of the 9-part navigate Series for the leaders who want to lead themselves. The Navigate Series is a live video broadcast, going until September 2020. It takes participants on a journey from self-discovery to community transformation. Throughout the year, they’ll be unpacking the "how-to" of leadership development, starting with internal dimensions of identity (how do I understand who I am), to how that works out in the real world (what do I do, and why), to how to shift into more authentic and powerful expressions (how do I get better), to how we work out those new expressions with those around us (how do I transform my community/city). In this session you’ll experience: 1. A deep exploration of a concept with Chris McAlister of SightShift. 2. An interview with an expert to dive further into the idea. 3. Prompts & exercises to complete with your fellow leaders. 4. Tools to integrate the new concept for the long haul. Enjoyed this episode and looking for more of our free resources? Tray and Melody are joined again by Pastor, Professor, and Executive Coach Chris McAlister to discuss ordering the chaos, your identity, the impact of the #metoo movement, and healthy marriage. Chris discusses his views on the #MeToo movement and the positive and negative impacts it has on men and women. Discussing the difference within men and women’s identities and traversing the world of dating and romance within this culture. Healthy marriages need both individuals to be confident in their own identity rather than relying on their spouses to define who they are. What is the big story that God is writing for you? Our spouse is not the adventure, but they are there to join us in that adventure. We can get excited to live life instead of just existing. Chris is a speaker and has authored 5 books including The Stuck Book, Figure That Shift Out, and The Rider: Avoid Building A Life You Hate. He currently lives in Columbus, Ohio with his wife and three daughters.

Chris McAlister has authored five books, spoken to groups large and small, and built himself a six-figured business all while spending loads of time with his family and investing into his friends. But this wasn't some sort of instant success. It took loads and loads of lessons-learned, pivots, and career shifts. On a personal note, Chris has invested in The Wonder Jam's growth in super-human doses. He helps organizations grow and still be "human." We sit down with Chris and talk about SightShift, career shifts and - at one point - a 4-armed woman. Show Notes & Links
