I am not a religious person at all, but I'm very spiritual. And I am learning to follow what my higher power has planned for me, instead of letting fear and ego take the wheel. It's not always easy to let go of things. Especially those things you thought you really wanted. But I'm here to tell you that it is okay to transition, and sometimes that is for the best! In this final episode, #221, of the Dance Boss Podcast, I talk about my transition from online business coaching to public speaking and what that means for the Dance Boss Podcast. I get transparent about the privilege I have in order to make these transitions. And, I share the path my life is on now and my current interest in life coaching. Nothing is guaranteed and you are going to fail. Failure is inevitable. This might not be the marketing tactic that you want to hear, but it is the truth, my friend! You cannot do things, make decisions, start something or not start something based on the fact that you may fail or because the outcome you want is not guaranteed. I know you might not be able to see this now, but it is the failure that is a gift. It is failure that shows you how you need to improve on your life and business journey. It is the “nothing being guaranteed” that is the fire that lights your a** to keep going. In episode #197 of the Dance Boss Podcast, I talk: How to reframe failure. How not having a guarantee in life actually serves you, not hurts you. 3 ways your business could actually fail and how to avoid them. Do me a solid. In episode #190 of the Dance Boss Podcast, I talk about how serving 1:1 clients in your online dance business may be affecting major areas of your life. After you listen, take this assessment to see if that's true for you. Give each question a score of 1, 2, or 3: 1 - This is me 2 - Somewhat me 3 - Not me at all I am stressed if my dance clients don't reach success. I am questioning my worth and my business, and I am afraid I am a fraud. My relationships are being affected because I have no time to nurture them. I am spending all of my time individually catering to my dance clients, checking work, and carrying the emotional weight of my clients. I am helping so many dancers solve so many different kinds of problems that I don't have time for myself. My business does not feel like it can grow because I have no more time or energy to give it emotionally. I don't have time to take on more clients, but I desire more revenue. Now add up your points. If your score was: 1-10 —> I have been exactly where you are. It's time to make a decision about what behaviors you are willing to change to reach your goal. 11-15 —> You are in a good place, my friend. You seem to have stability in your life and feel at peace. I am excited for you! I'd love to know your score! Come on in, the water is fine! So this weekend I took Pilates with my sister and I'm thinking about joining. I also took my niece to Chick-fil-A. Chloe has arthritis in her back left leg and I'm thinking about enrolling her in therapy. Small things? Not for me! There was a time when I could do none of these things. Or I did them with tremendous fear about what was in my bank account. There was a time when I had to ask my parents for money and I was older than I would like to admit. There was a time when the idea of doing anything extra for myself or those I love meant I had to cut back on something that I needed. Living this way was painful and I honestly didn't think another way was possible. Then I started to surround myself with people who charged more, based their prices on the lives they wanted to live instead of guilt, and did it while delivering exceptional services! And then the question turned from why me? To why not me? I can't even believe I'm here! Even more so I can't even believe that I believe I deserve to be here! So come on in my friend, the water is fine. In episode #160 of the Dance Boss Podcast, I share a framework that I use with my clients to help them price their services and some perspective shifts that can help you release those old, incorrect beliefs about how we as dancers should price our services. Now tell me, is guilt holding you back from charging what you need to live the life you want? Tag me on IG @erinpride and let me know! Hannah and Carly went live on Instagram and recorded their short conversation about Ballet NOT being the foundation of all dance. This is part of the common dance vernacular, and they are both guilty of saying it in the past. They discuss how damaging this is, and how we as dance educators need to do better. They did not start this conversation. Carly & Hannah are super grateful for other dancers, and educators having these conversations so they too can learn more. In response to Dance Teacher Network being archived, I want to address a BIG issue I see in the dance world… So much of our industry and classes are still seeing “dance” as simply a physical form of movement, and taking away the full embodiment of educating the human. For those who have large platforms like DTN, making decisions on how you show up and address global climate changes in order to support your community is vital. Unfortunately in their response to our current pressing issues, they failed to do so… This is an opportunity to have those uncomfortable conversations… Racism exists and racism exists in the dance world! It isn’t about dance. It’s about using your voice to educate your students, using your platform to help people have conversations to evoke change! This went from IG stories to IGTV and a deeper discussion now available on episode #87 of the Dance Boss podcast to listen…. Please share this or create your own video, post, podcast to raise awareness in order to educate the human.
What really happens before you get the edited version? You totally get curated versions of the online space - edited picture, captions, podcast, YouTube video… you name it! But I wanted to show what it’s like before we clean things up… On episode #85 of the Dance Boss Podcast, we go behind the scenes to bring you some raw audio footage! DOORS ARE NOW OPEN for my 1-on-1 coaching program! I wanted to grow and excel and I didn't feel like I could do that without a coach, because how can I ask people to invest in me if I'm not investing in myself? It just didn't morally feel right for me. So I took that leap.” At minute 4:31, Erin shares her biggest motivation for supporting other entrepreneurs and the important realization of investing in her own personal development.“It’s all about alignment and it's just so crazy. You hear people talk all the time when you're in alignment with your products, when you're in alignment with your price, it will sell. I never experienced that until this point.” At 10:04, Erin talks about the power of aligning your products and price point to discover your worth and value to the world.“First of all, I feel different. I feel like I feel like I'm an intermediate business owner now. It just shifted. I feel like I'm playing bigger, which is so nice and it's also very scary. ” At minute 23:42, Erin emphasizes the importance of leveling up and how it can transform both your business and your personal life.Erin shared a lot of valuable information about aligning your business and shifting your mindset.
